I think most of us have stocked up on powerful throwers. These really add nothing. I was hoping that there might have been some kind of improvement in power efficiency. About the only thing I'm in the market for anymore is XML2 because a flashlight should last more than 1.5 hours on a battery, if it lasts that long.

Thanks for the review! How does it compare to the Osram culpm1 ("Boost HX")? 😀 As far as I know the culpm1 has around the same throw as the cslnm1 but much more lumen (1265 lm according to zerair's review of C8+. 1lumen reviewed a S21B with culpm1 with 1600lm.) Edit: Correction: 1lumen's review measured 1439lm after 30s. Only at startup 1600lm.
Can't be entirely sure without getting one myself though. I have the PM1 in many of my other convoy hosts like the L21B. The green edition throws even more than white. Thanks mate.
@@DarrenYeoYT Thanks for your answers! I'm still thinking about getting a white thrower, a C8+. But I can't decide if I should get the SFT40 or the culpm1. @@DarrenYeoYT Acebeam L19 looks like a good comparison: 1lumen reviewed version 1 with culpm1 and version 2 with SFT40. It is a big light with good drivers. w5050 Gallium led ? ce sont des led's que OTR utilise depuis longtemps , ils ont été les premiers à utiliser et à faire confiance à ces led's il me semble .
Not sure if they're gallium. I think they are fairly new to the market, similar to the Yiding 5050 with round die emitter as well. I'm unsure if they're actually the same thing.
I have ordered the parts to build a C8 with an SFT40 and 8amp driver, do you know if a silicone gasket between the reflector and LED chip would be necessary? I believe the host may come with a white gasket but I’m not sure if it will fit the SFT40? I ordered the C8 and not the C8+ host accidentally.
There's also black or white gaskets, I'm not sure exactly why one is used over another.. might want to ask in our group on FB: facebook.com/groups/flashlightfanatics
@@DarrenYeoYTQuite a peculiar thing with the white or black gasket surrounding the led, Ive noticed when I order a light it's luck of the draw which you recieve. I have replaced all black bushings with white as I've found there indeed is a noticeable difference, stands to reason as black absorbs light and white reflects light. Ime always get the white gaskets if and when possible, definitely a improvement in beam focus and penetration.
@@DarrenYeoYT yes it will. I'm torn between W5050 or sft40. For what I see, W5050 maybe will sustain the turbo longer, less battery drain and less brighter spill than sft40. I'm currently searching for my 1st convoy.
Maybe check the Convoy M21A - it's more directly comparable to the TD01C. Hard to choose. I like Convoy as they allow you to choose the emitter/driver.
I added a W5050 to my Aliexpress cart after watching your video.
I'm also excited to see it in a Zoomie!
Good choice! I want to see these in smaller lights too as it should be easier to focus than conventional square die LEDs.

It depends on the emitter but generally, the gasket leads to a nicer looking beam with less artefacts. You can try it without first.
