Exploring an Abandoned Soviet Prison in Estonia!

Was wondering whether to upload this or not due to the poor video quality. I used my DSLR thinking it'd be better than my phone but turned out worse 😅 next time I'll fiddle around with my phone settings and just use that instead.

    @DarrenYeoYT thanks for this review, just discovered it. Love how you are on top of the new releases. Do you have any experience with the Acebeam L35 beam patterns? How does this compare? I've got plenty of throwers but am interested in a TIR with some flood & throw. I know this isn't a XHP70, but just wondering about your thoughts on its floodiness compared to L35. Thank you!

      Thanks mate! I don't have the L35 but in general, Acebeam have better build quality and more balanced beam profile. I'm unsure if they have the XHP70 in any of their TIR lights. So they will produce significantly less light. However they should have better throw.

    I wish they just upped everything to Buck drivers. Keep it consistent. The TD03 I like because I leave the standard on low and then can flip to the turbo easily. It's my nightstand light to get up and deal with the annoying raccoons and with the easy rotary dial I don't worry about blinding my wife. LOL. The TD04 I just don't use often even though I like it. The TD01C has enough spill to use for long throw, but I honestly just use the TS11 more often or grab the Acebeam Terminator M2-X. NOTE: audio dropped to left channel only when you went outside.

      Totally, a few extra dollars for regulated output is worth it. I think Wurkkos is in a funny position, where they are making budget lights but teetering into features only high quality lights have. Convoy is like that too but their drivers are generally better.

      Thanks mate, I'm using my phone camera from now on until I can get a gimbal for the DSLR. I find it difficult with my phone camera, as there are small vibrations on the video when I step and it blurs for a second. Not sure if altering the settings would help.

    • @gonzalez7805
      @gonzalez7805 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I think a gimbal will help with that , but im talking about the speed that you move the camera when panning from left to right , and tilting up and down... Its fast ... Not sure if your familiar with motion sickness but it really brings it on ... I tried searching for panning tutorials, but omg there's just so many ... Best i can say is keep in mind how fast your moving when scanning the area...i catch glimpses of other TH-camrs filming things like whats spread out on a table, and there movements are slow and smooth ... The results are pleasant to watch ... Please don't take this as harsh criticism, i like what your doing just trying to help you improve...

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @creed2409
      @creed2409 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @DarrenYeoYT Hi, the contacts are arranged conventionally with positive at one end and negative at the other. However it is 3.6v 10,000mah so underneath the wrap holding the two 21700 together they are arranged in parallel. As opposed to 7.2v 5,000mah when using two 21700 in series. I ask because apparently the sbt90.2 is a 3v led so the torch wouldn't have to regulate the voltage down but maybe as it was designed that way it will assume the batteries flat.

    During the direct green vs white comparison 2:55, only the green was lighting up the reflective tape on the construction site while you were shining it at the building. The s8 with the green isn't focusing the light as well as the acebeam, which must be using a special lens or optic instead of a basic reflector.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      S8 is using a smooth reflector, and the M2 is using a aspheric lens. This was surprisingly. Was thinking the green would clearly outperform. But I'm not so sure now. Like you said, Maybe depends on atmospheric conditions too and the colour and surface material of the object.

  • @randomescu
    @randomescu 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Im afraid the only thing making a difference would be an AcebeamK75. Flashlights are better and better as the city you live in is more and more bad. You seem to live in a very civilised city, im living in one where there are pretty large areas not illuminated between apartment buildings. The current mayor actually did alot in that regard, it was much worse.

    • @DarrenYeoYT

    If it's something that I learned from Darren's videos, it's that, true tactical flashlights don't have stepless ramping mode. It's usually fixed, stepped brightness levels. Crikey, that green light is just as useful in an urban environment! I'm glad that my last flashlight is a genuine DAT, a.k.a a DY Approved Torch. 🙂 Yep, the S8 with the CSLPM1.F1. I'm amazed how lightweight and slim it is and realized that it has an extra deep reflector. But the little detail that caught my attention is that the S8 is the only flashlight I have that has a thin luminous circle at the tip of the head! I thought my eyes were playing tricks one me because whenever I turn off the light, I would notice the reflector's tip glowing green for thirty seconds or so. Darren, you've done loads of flashlight tests at night from an elevated position. Have you encountered random people in the distance shining their torch back at you, or worse still - the cops? 😀 In case you haven't been keeping abreast with flashlight news and rumors: 1. Wurkkos' new navy blue TS10 Max is selling fast! 3x Nichia 519a 5000K LEDs, electronic tail switch, 18650 battery, Anduril 2. I just ordered one! 😀 2. Sofirn is rumoured to announce the IF23 Pro and if it does, that will revive the IF23 lineup. 3. The TD04 gets a nice makeover in olive green and gold accented side switch and belt clip. 4. The golden WK03 has been out since early this month, but you probably already know that.

It makes me uncomfortable filming some of these beam shots too, am probably annoying people. But I don't do it all the time and try to point away from the windows.

    Intreresting bit from the manual: When the light gets plugged in while it's on, the light will turn off. When power gets disconnected, it automatically turns on in low mode. Interesting emergency lighting functionality for a tactical light🤔 This light is almost a no brainer to upgrade from my P20i: - More brightness steps and seperation: 3000, 1500, 800 instead of 1800 directly to 280. - Can hold medium at around 600 to 700 lumens for hours after dropping off from 800 after 20 minutes or so, compared to the P20i dropping down to 500 lumens almost Immediately. - Addition of optional daily mode.

    Is there any reason to get the FET driven TD01, other than the fact that Wurkkos sells it cheaper than the buck driver equipped, TD01C? I know that Wurkkos often sells parallel models with an optional buck driver, e.g. FC11c but it's also simultaneously selling the regular FC11 model. It's not quite like Wurkkos' Anduril and non-Anduril versions, where the simplified, non Anduril version is more likely to be chosen by ordinary users. In any case, I'm curious to know if the TD01c is able to hold its brightness longer because its thermal auto-throttle kicks in much later than the regular TD01. This in turn, brings another subject - the LED's temperature at the time when the TD01c begins to step down. Does this mean that the TD01c exceeds 55 Celsius much later than the TD01 or the TD01c has a much higher temperature limit before the ATR reduces the flashlight's brightness? 🔦🤔

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I believe buck drivers are more efficient than FET and produce less heat. But I see no reason to get the FET TD01. The marginal increase in brightness in the beginning is hardly noticeable, and it feels hotter than than TD01C during operation. The TD01C remains significantly brighter than the TD01 after stepdown.

    • @StratmanII
      @StratmanII 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DarrenYeoYT Ta mate! I fielded a similar question to Wurkkos Marketing on their official YT channel, but they chose not to answer it. I think they knew that flashlight nerds are likely to own both versions, so the TD01c sells alongside the TD01. Buck drivers shouldn't cost that much considering that Wurkkos buys them wholesale. It seems that both Wurkkos and Sofirn sell many models that are FET based or unregulated. I mean, if buck drivers are the future of 3V LEDs they should be a standard fitting and not sold as a separate model. 🤔 Have you ever tried or reviewed the Sofirn SF26? It looks quite similar to the TD01 but with a twin push button tail cap. 🔦😎

      @@DarrenYeoYT I have four more flashlights to go before I reach my limit of 30 torches, lol. 😅 The latest to join my flock is the Convoy S8 with the CSLPM1.F1 and its hot spot is smaller than my S21B with the same emitter. I now see why you love the S8! It comes with a belt clip, which is rare among Convoy flashlights. I'm reserving four more slots for my future flashlights and I think the TD01C deserves a spot. The second vacancy would be for the Wurkkos TS26, should the company release the Anduril version. The remaining two slots are for Sofirn models, which I have yet to identify. My Convoy collection is done and they're all the Greenies. So it would be 4 Convoys + 13 Wurkkos + 13 Sofirns, or 6 Convoys + 12 Wurkkos + 12 Sofirn. The thing about Convoy torches is that I'm not sold on the Osram TG white emitters, just their green ones. Oh, I forgot to mention that my M21H is now slightly longer due to the optional tail switch. I regret buying the M21H with the Getian GT green as its green light is too monochromatic and too floody. I don't mind floody white light that the M21H produces, just not in monochromatic green. 🙁 Edit: Have you heard rumors of Sofirn planning to introduce the IF23 Pro?
