I’ve been saying it for 35 years…George is the best in my book. Actually met him in a bar in Phoenix once when he was playing a show with Lynch Mob. Hard to tell after just a minute or so, but he seemed like a pretty humble and down to earth dude.
I met George 3 times but one time I got to hang out with George for about 15 -20 minutes after a Lynch Mob show back in 1992 in Texas. Just he and I. It was a dream come true as I was a young 18-year-old aspiring guitarist. He was very humble and down to earth. He gave me picks, and a hat. We talked about guitars, the band Warrant, and colored contacts. :)

I have seen and met George Lynch in 3 separate guitar clinics in the early 2000s. And was/am still a HUGE old school OZZY and Dokken fan throughout the 80s ironically lol. Maybe it IS the guitar work that ALWAYS pulled me in. 😁 But yeah, Lynch was ALWAYS super cool and a level headed guy answering about ANY silly questions thrown his way. My 1st question at the 1st clinic WAS about the Ozzy guitar spot. He tried seemingly to just shrug it off and even kinda laughing about it as he explained it as "Yeah, I stepped in for a bit. Then Jake E Lee decided to show up hair down to his waist, and SHARON liked his look waaay more so? They decided to keep Jake." Of course, NOT diving into his personal experience with "the event." I CANNOT imagine what Lynch MUSTA thought EVERYTIME that OZZY OSBOURNE WAS MENTIONED, (leastways ALL throughout the 80's!) Yeah... He's ALWAYS been super professional about that event in interviews in his story telling. ALOT different than how he has spoke against HIS own main vocalist from Lynch's 80s collaboration with Don Dokken anyways....😁🤭😆🤘🔥🤘🎸🥁🎤
I have to disagree with the fact that Ozzy has been just as bad as his wife on how they were treated,according to Bob Daisley's book ,Ozzy was front and center in many of the firing's and even made some of the initiial decisions! So he doesn't get a pass,cause even with some of the songwriting he wholeheartingly lied about what he's done,and everyone knows how he treated Jake and Bob and it's become lore amongst the rock community!
Well said, Mr Rugby. For one thing, he was an adult, it was his career, and even he just caved into Sharon’s whims, it’s worthy of contempt. As you said, he actually carried out these decisions with too much vigor and cold delight to let him off the hook.
I’ve never heard George speak before (not a Dokken fan- though he’s an amazing guitarist). I’m impressed with his manner. Relaxed, low key, head screwed on. The Osborne’s have pretty much shit on everything and everyone.
Over time, with all the interviews George has done, he seems tired and bored of everything, but mostly bitter, towards the Dokken guys, other guitarists etc... He also went through a strange period of pretty crappy playing, like he was intentionally not going to play the old songs correctly, improvising away from the riffs and hooks that made some of the older songs so good, seemingly just to stick it to everyone who seemed to have wronged him somehow. Hope he is doing better these days.

The issues here was how Ozzy and Sharon rode the crazytrain and how George was part of that. One real harsh reality I can see is "these days " George has become the last of the boys of 79⁹
Now that EVH has gone. I'll tell everyone GL style and sound was similar to what I liked and played in 79 , but c'mon those guys were LY ahead with their music . Smashed respect and went back in the Army .
Greg chaisson who was the bass player for Jake E Lee’s band Badlands did an interview with these guys and mentioned this same story. He said Ozzy was looking for a new bass player and He had basically done the same thing George had done and that Jake approached him and warned him that if he got the gig that Ozzy liked to head butt and break people’s noses. Greg said he wasn’t one to take any shit that had Ozzy pulled that shit he would have beaten his ass. Greg ultimately didn’t get the job and he said he felt it was because he didn’t have the pretty boy look that many of the bands in the late 80s had. Ozzy and Sharon were focused on the image a lot.
I know someone who has met Gregg. Gregg is a nice person, but what you said is true, he does not take shit from anyone. If Ozzy headbutted Gregg, PArkinsons would be the least of his problems.

Look at Dio/Vivian Campbell, David Coverdale/John Sykes, Dokken/George Lynch, Ozzy/Randy Rhodes, Jake E. Lee, Bob Daisley.

Because they were at the top they could abuse the warm up bands or members of their band under contract because they didn’t want to be booted off the tour.

I wonder how would Randy songs sound like with George improvising the solos. I saw one vid of George improving the Crazy Train solo and it was horrible. I love George and his playing but improvising a Randy solo is a no-no. If Sharon's wickedness took it's course, she would have fired Randy down the line especially after Randy said that he wanted out.
Lynch wasn't at Randy's level, though Ozzy shouldn't have treated him so bad. It all worked out good in the end as I thought Gillis was a good temporary replacement until Lee came along.

Lynch was better than randy in all aspects. Plus he had the stage presence and the looks. George's playing was just a step above others in the 80s. The pharasing was superb ,the licks were so killer and he had his own way of doing things he stood Out from the rest. Only Warren came close to his playing. Ps: ya think Randy could improve on solos of in to the fire, kiss of death, tooth and nail, heaven sent , when heaven comes down, dream warriors? George knew Randy Rhoads before Ozzy even heard of him. He worked as a teacher at Mrs' Rhoads Studio/Music Store same time as Randy was in Quiet Riot and then Ozzy. Like he said Randy was Completely on Another Level. Rhoads and Lynch ....Damn if that dont sound Great Together.

Now he tells US we might get eaten, We are coming to see what Our First Eternal Mother Goddess has to do or say about that! Keanu Reeves insinuates That ozzy is Aristotle or Socrates from Greece, in Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure. Momoa is Neptune, an old Child & Marine Biologist, Not an Everwas Being... The main fervent kord finding range scale needed to know is any root note (r) plus 4 more notes in order up or down, then 5, 7, 8, 9, & 12. Then repeat that pattern at every new octave, ( R + 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12 ), then ( R + 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 24 ), then (R + 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 36 ) & so on. ( R + 4 + 4 + 4 etc...) Works well also. ( R + 26 ). There is also a 9 note Ionian scale at ( R + 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1) to Base new scale keys on, I like it. This creates different tone combination sounds & tuned scales when combined with the number patterns. The sharps are ascending up to higher tones, flat symbols are the same notes descending down to lower tones. All scales are repetitive back to the first number once the last number has been reached. Then applies to a different tone that stays in tune with the other tone notes being used when ascending or descending on a number pattern. Electronic Cymatics need to be found & used to find the best Frequencies to make Kords & scales with, from & through. Because they were at the top they could abuse the warm up bands or members of their band under contract because they didn’t want to be booted off the tour.

Lynch was better than randy in all aspects. Plus he had the stage presence and the looks. George's playing was just a step above others in the 80s. The pharasing was superb ,the licks were so killer and he had his own way of doing things he stood Out from the rest. Only Warren came close to his playing.

I liked Lynch’s playing better than anything ozzy did in this time, we were initially attracted to Randy’s playing with ozzy to begin with. Now he tells US we might get eaten, We are coming to see what Our First Eternal Mother Goddess has to do or say about that! Keanu Reeves insinuates That ozzy is Aristotle or Socrates from Greece, in Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure. Momoa is Neptune, an old Child & Marine Biologist, Not an Everwas Being... The main fervent kord finding range scale needed to know is any root note (r) plus 4 more notes in order up or down, then 5, 7, 8, 9, & 12. Then repeat that pattern at every new octave, ( R + 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12 ), then ( R + 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 24 ), then (R + 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 36 ) & so on. ( R + 4 + 4 + 4 etc...) Works well also. ( R + 26 ). There is also a 9 note Ionian scale at ( R + 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1) to Base new scale keys on, I like it.
