"The real Black Sabbath is early Ozzy "??, the engine of Sabbath IS Toni Iommi, who tuned his guitar down to slacken strings for easier playing, because industrial accident cut off Toni's finger tips on his last day of factory work & manager from that factory introduced (musically) Toni to Django Rhinehardt who played with leather tips on severed fingertips, which inspired Toni after almost giving up guitar, Ozzy??, he was just a guy that Toni use to beat up at the same school they went to.

Dana also knew a LOT of people in Hollywood, which is a huge reason why he got hooked up with Ozzy. Randy didn't even want to audition. He didn't like Sabbath's music and it was only because his mom practically pushed him out the door that he went. He was content being in QR and teaching at Musonia. So between Dana AND Randy's mom, if they both hadn't played a part, it would've taken longer for us to hear of Randy. I don't think that Randy would've stayed an "unknown" for long. His talent was too huge to be contained forever.

@William Jefferson again, those people on there making themselves feel better by pretending I'm mentally challenged or dumb because of an innocuous music take is great entertainment for me. You should see my work on metalhead groups where they come hard at me, and it Inevitably leads to them getting knocked out with a verbal combo and them having to block me. As soon as someone gets into the ad hominem attacks, I know I've hooked them. But I question when saying the sky is blue is tantamount to trolling. The ‘combo amp’ of Randy’s Dana is refers to was a Pignose amp-a truly tiny little amp you can hold in one hand that has KILLER tone. Seriously, these amps sound incredible-especially miced up. What a lot of people don’t realize is that smaller speakers ‘break up’ better and sound HUGE under a microphone-You get massive tone and sustain, and crazy good distortion. In fact, many guitar legends use them in the studio, and that’s what Randy had that day.

Did Ozzy deserve to have Randy as his guitarist coming out of BS (uh, black sabbath) and being so irresponsible? I just have such negative feelings on the whole thing and the whole Sharon thing where she cheated so many out of the $ they rightly deserved. But Dana tells this so well, you can't stop listening if you know anything about Ozzy and Randy.

I just got done reading Bob Daisley's book. Sharon is a snake. Ozzy also changed for the worse as well. Sharon, although being responsible for Ozzy's post Sabbath carrier, was a bad influence on his character.

Great job on the interview. The B & W gives it a historical like effect. The story reeled me in. I kept inching closer and closer in my seat and I am watching this on my laptop. I can't get any closer than that. This story appears to be one of love. If Dana was selfish and thought about his career, no way, no how would he show Ozzy this guy or that on his own dime. He pitched his favorite; "Messiah" as Randy Rhoads was called, instead of saying, "me, me, hey hey, I am right here. Your biggest fan". He indirectly introduced me to Gary Moore who I googled and found some incredible music by. Like phhst, he nailed it, and no, I did not piss my pants cus I was excited hearing it, drunk, or otherwise. It is a different style of music that is not Ozzy. It's breathtaking in its own form. This story is one of those for a documentary. It could go any direction with any one of them to meet up in the middle. I'd watch each one. Who would be first? I would lean in this case towards Dana Strum. Simply because he is the Messiah in this case. Someone who didn't walk away and say find your own man and good luck. He said, ok, let's see what we can do, and did it by going that extra mile and 5 mins to 4 to do it in. That's a guy with heart.

I picked him up at the Spokane International Airport for a publicity tour that ended at the radio station I worked for in 1995, ROCK 106 SPOKANE. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing?? It was the greatest rock story ever told to me by a person who ACTUALLY LIVED IT! Dana, you are a great ambassador of Rock and Roll, I hope to see you again sometime.

Dana my brother, I want to publicly THANK YOU for being a hero to so very many Las Vegas musicians, as well as many others. You still have "IT", that God given "gift of gab"! Lol... As well as drawing everyone listening INTO your story and your "world"! You always were THE GUY THAT MADE THINGS HAPPEN, and obviously with your work with Vince and everything else, you still are. Thank you for all you and Mark did for the early Vegas scene. Without you guys, Imagine Dragons, Panic at the Disco, and many others would probably have never gotten noticed... Also for the inspiration you guy's were to all of us and especially including me. You guys dragged a "nobody local band guy" around with you to ALL of the major Vegas rock music events! You may or may not figure out who this is, but THANK YOU MAN! (AND MARK TOO!)
(And let's not forget Tim and Blas!)
    God bless and take care...
