Good video! If I could do it over again I would have never bought an inflatable, and saved the $ for a nice hard board. They are great for what they are, a board for traveling. Any kind of wind will push that thick rail like a sailboat. Also the pain of pumping them up and they are insanely heavy for being inflatable. They extremely slow as well. Awesome review !
thank you, ya the inflatables are great for travel if you dont have space on your roof and the hard ones drift pretty fast in the wind too but the paddle soo much easier and have the ability to take a ton of gear.
@@McQuadeOutdoors yes it all depends on how thick the rails are and how low they sit in the water. I fish from a Sunova one surf sup and the rails sit fairly deep in the water, less surface area for wind to catch. The inflatables by design will suck in the wind since they don’t really sink in the water and bob at the surface all while being several inches thick! I won’t ever go back to a kayak or an inflatable after fishing a solid all around sup. Infinity, Sunova, Naish are all good brands to look into. Bote is good with marketing and they are somewhat decent, there are just so many better choices out there.
Thanks for the video! Was gonna buy a cheap wavestorm SUP to get out on the water but just picked up a 12ft tandem kayak for 25$ so I'll see how the kayak goes for a bit.
Hello from SRQ Fl- The Rackham is the wider/heavier board over the HD and they both have water displacement V.. what advantage did you find with the Rackham for long distance? Is it faster.. glide better..or comfort ? Love to hear your experience paddling both. Great video 🙏
They both have a v displacement, but the rackham V is more pronounced which allows it to cut through water more easily (allowing for better long-distance glide), the raised side rails help keep the deck dry and the harsh elements off your gear (which i prefer). Its also more stable due to thickness and width.
Thanks for the detailed review! Debating on this or a 12 foot Rackham. Going to be mainly used for fishing but also the occasional recreational paddle and bringing my dog along. Which would you choose?
Thank you for the video. What clear protection did you put on the sides to keep from paddle stroke scratching? If you decide to peel it off will it pull up the color/graphics from the board?
Hey it’s 3M clear protective tape. If you leave the board in warm direct sunlight, you should be able to peel off with no residue an the graphics will be fine on the board. I’ve pulled it off once and the board was fine.
I just got the hd aero isup. I swear i didn't realize the color i chose didn't come with the extra accessory ability as the bug slinger. I got the "blue whale" cuz i thought it was cool. Anyway, how the heck would i anchor if i find a nice spot to cast out from? I saw the bugslinger has a sandspear accessory. Any advice?

If your going to be in rough water and carrying a bit of weight, the rackham. If you want a lighter/cheaper board, the HD.

You can put a bungee sup leash on a sand spear and tie the leash to the board. Did this on my old board and it works well.
