Stress is number one. If your ever in a narcissitic or other toxic relationship for too long it destroys you. Or qork 60 hours a week on the regular. I wish I knew before what I know now, it goes far beyond burnout.

Couldn't agree more ; linked to a NARC for 35 years, I got ill after the first 12 yrs association. Stay away from energy vampires, NARCS, toxic people in general and very negative people who moan all the time, treat yourself well and others, protect yourself from destructive & damaging influences/people, eat healthy, de-stress.

Eat well, move gently, stress less and love more. Thanks for the video Raelan! This book is spot on for what helped me so much in my ME/CFS recovery - I ate a whole food plant based/ some dairy, a little fish diet (and I avoided medication) I used movement such as chi gong, walking and not resting for more than 30 Minutes to help, I focused on reducing stress - and as you said throughout the day, not just a one-off, and I loved more (particularly myself). It sill amazes me how much commonality there is when people talk about what really helps. 🙂. Thank you!

Wow Ali, super impressive! Good for you for making all these changes. And agreed, I too am amazing with all the commonality!

You are *so* dang adorable!!!! Also, just a pitch for the FB group. Folks it is everything Raelen says it is. If you love her you're gonna love this group, because it truly expresses her beautiful, helpful, shiningly positive energy. I joined last week and I've already gotten *tons* of information to put in my toolbox and start implementing. And the inspiration and encouragement to do so. Highly recommend.

Good stuff. I want to add: aloneness not the same as loneliness. The first is just a situation, not a problem at all. The second is an emotion we create, that hurts. Lol. Those outtakes 😆 !

Thank you for going over that book. I will definitely read it. I do believe in lifestyle medicine more and more. It’s what helped me improve tremendously last year and keeps helping me. I do have times when I don’t do it so this episode is a great reminder to keep it up.

I've been wanting to read that book for a while. I watched an interview with him and I really loved everything he said! I love that its not just diet he focuses on, but an all over holistic approach. I know many people that think that just changing diet will heal them..

Hi Raelan, I don't know if your diet still reflects what you say in this video more or less but I'm similar. I think the reason people find benefit with both vegetarian/vegan and keto/paleo diets is due to food combining principles originally taught by Dr William Hay. In essence a concentrated starch and a concentrated protein cause digestive issues when eaten in the same meal so correctly combining your meals results in better digestion, energy, better nutrition and no toxic byproducts of indigestion. Basing your diet mostly WFPB and then combining correctly with either starch/carb or concentrated protein gives the best health results... Plus everything you say in the video 🤗

Speaking of gas. I eat predominantly plant based, but still have some issues with my digestion especially while eating carbs. I do ferment vegetables etc. but would still like to get this sorted 100%.

Raelan, I love your book reviews. Thank you.
Here’s a good way to think about telomeres: if you imagine that chromosomes are like shoe laces, the telomeres are the end bits that tend to fray. 😊

For me, it was a combination of minimizing processed foods, adding in much more plant-based foods, and regular consumption of fermented foods (among some other tweaks!)

Raelan can you touch on marriages with battling this? It has been really hard. One being that most men need sexual intimacy and we have no drive nor energy to attempt... How about the money we spend on supplements and therapies that they have a hard time with that haven't gotten us better. They don't understand how we feel. And the guilt that they may work more and pick up house chores too... Ugh
