I have frontal fibrosing alopecia. Your hairline recedes backwards until it burns itself out. It started in my eyebrows and they are almost gone. I was diagnosed in 2018. It's difficult to live with a very rare condition that they really can't do anything about. I'm a RN, 58, and have researched this extensively. I am the only one in my family with this problem. Thank God there are toppers and wigs out there that look natural. If you are looking for a wig, the two most natural looking brands for the hair line are Nuola in London, and Moramode. Look at the TH-cam videos on these. You will see how great they look. Hair for a woman to me is part of our femininity. It sucks but we have to wait and see what medicine will bring us. Until then, it's a cosmetic issue so you can feel good about the way you look. Don't sit and do nothing ladies. There are solutions to look and feel better about yourself. Be proactive and educate yourself.

Thank u for ur video. My sister and I also have some sort of hair loss. I can almost hide mine by keeping my hair in a bun but she can not hide hers. If my hair is down...my scalp is completely exposed and looks like my poor sister. We have been sick our entire lives and were born with birth defects. It runs pretty bad in my family lol. My mom’s father and her brother have male pattern baldness. And my father is bald, brother is going bald, grandfather is bald, my grandmother has severe female pattern baldness, and my dad’s sister is beginning to thin from female pattern baldness. Lmao. Then my mom is like how did you get androgenetic hair loss?!? It frustrated me because in my case it runs strong in my family especially on my father’s side of my family. I don’t even want to have kids because I’m scared that I’ll pass this gene onto them, especially if it is a girl. I feel female pattern baldness is frowned upon.
Hi. Androgenetic Alopecia appears to be the culprit for hair loss on both sides of my fam! My granny was almost bald before she passed. I have females on both sides with thinning hair. I share treatment options with my Aunt. We both loved our hair throughout our lives. Losing it is a downer but we are very proactive. I am now using 2.5 oral Minoxidil along with Spironolactone 50mg daily. I also use the LED helmet recommended by Dr.Dray. I'm not sure how much the helmet is working but the meds are definitely showing promise. They are both water pills and therefore have replaced my BP meds.( Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5) May God continue to bless you in life as well as your hair restoration journey. More Hair! Thank you!
I was fortunate I didn’t begin to loose my hair till my early fifties all the women on my mother’s side had beautiful thick hair and as they got older their hair began to thin out nobody talked about it nobody so when I reached the age of sixty eight my hair was pretty much gone at 70 I barely had enough hair to braid down the middle of my head it was very difficult to look in the mirror so one day I just cut it all off 😞 My doctor thought I had alopecia totalis because I lost all body hair this wasn’t just old age as I was thinking I’m learning to accept my hair loss but it has been very hard to do. I’m just grateful this happened in my older years I can handle it better at this age.

I get alopecia areata so I get patches of complete baldness randomly on my head . Usually if I find one there is another area as well. At the moment it seems to be ok but who knows when it will kick off again. I become obsessed with it watching to see if the patches are getting bigger or if there is any hair coming back. I’ve pretty patchy body hair with areas just missing where I use to have it but that’s not a big deal. My eyebrows too are thin and patchy but I draw them in 😂
I've been losing my hair since 13. All these years I heard that I am wrong, I have to stop being so dramatic. Until 6 years later I got diagnosis - androgenic alopecia. The only thing I regret is that I listened to my family and did nothing. If I didn't do as they said maybe my hair would still be here today... I mean, they are, but no lies, the faster you start treatment, the better. And I missed my chance a bit, so I feel frustrated. The cause of my alopecia isn't known entirely. Maybe genetic though no one else has it, I might be first, maybe big amount of stress, maybe hormones. I suspect PCOS right now 🤷♀️ If someone is curious I've been using monoxidil 5% which didn't work for me well and now I am trying finasteride, so there is still hope. Plus, my doctor said we can see if minoxidil work if I take it as capsule. Remember, if you see hair loss especially for long amount of time, go see the doctor. In androgenic alopecia in women they start to fall out from the top of your head
hello dear, my doctor recommended finasteride for me also, but i was afraid to use it since it can cause birth defects for women in a child bearing age, how is your experience with it?
no family history of baldness. even the men with thick hair. after a traumatic event and a short term of bc shots, my 18 year old daughter started gaining weight and her hair started falling out. her hair was never thick, just fine and really soft and fine with lovely ringlets. now she is 28 and has suffered 11 years of hair loss. looks like a man's bad comb over. doctors are useless. they run labs and say everything was normal and then just drop it. her beauty and youth were taken from her and she sits at home now, no work, no social life. it's heart breaking. she won't even wear her toppers.
