    • @ameliarose47
      @ameliarose47 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@MaliUrumI haven't really heard anyone outside this comment section talking about the effects on skin, but I've heard that with hair if you wash it less frequently it stops getting as oily so if you get through the "awkward" phase of it being super greasy when you first start spacing out hair washings it gets progressively better and it's popular now to not wash hair every day. So if your feeling weird stems from a social stigma, don't. The hair is a fairly popular thing and I'm sure you'll be able to find info about it being better for skin too.

Barber here, TO NOT HAVE TO WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY: stop washing your hair every day. When your hair is used to being washed every day, your hair/scalp can overcompensate and produce oils faster. For a month, wash your hair every 3-5 days, or go as long as you can. Don't wet your hair either- wetting without washing makes your hair look greasy because it surfaces the oils. Use dry shampoo if you must. Sweat coming from your head will most likely not smell- just be sure to wash your face and the rest of your body. (Ask a friend if you smell from not washing your hair.) I'm very confident that after this month you'll be able to go 2-3 days without washing it. Go 4-5 days here and there.

Dry shampoo can be dagerous if not washed right next day. I would say wash your scalp whenever it's oily. We have hormones and sometimes it can couse sebum overproduction. I would not advice anybody to just hold off from washing hair when it's visable that they need to be cleaned. And if the sebum production is sevire I would advice to go see your doctor. I wash my hair every single day, and they are fine with it ;)

That's not true. I've found that the further a water fixture is away from the water heater/ boiler, the longer it takes for the water to heat up. If you didn't pay the water bill, you wouldn't get any water. OP was talking about getting the water temperature just right. It also takes longer when it's cold outside.

But yes, for the most part unless you’re in a work environment where you’re constantly sweating you don’t need to shower every day. Definitely not wash your hair every day.

Been to cosmetology school. Not a licensed cosmetologist because I wasn't able to finish clinicals due to medical reasons, BUT I can personally attest that you should NOT wash your hair daily. It is actually better for your hair to go two or in some cases even three days without washing it. If it starts to get overly oily or if you have chronic conditions like dandruff more washes may be necessary, but otherwise it's recommended to not wash your hair more than maybe three times a week in order to maintain natural oils that keep your hair and scalp healthy.

Yeah, but most of those words are the obscure ones & they're pretty much all Latin or Greek. It's amazing the variation in pronunciation you sometimes get from one doctor to another, since so many words you learn by reading them as opposed to hearing them :)

I don't wash my hair everyday and I definitely do agree that it's personalized for everyone. I don't take long showers because it is not needed to keep wasting the water... not that the water bill would go up a lot, but environmentally, it's not good to keep running the water. There is lotion if someone's skin is super dry and I think it's valid to not shower every day, though groin area may smell (I'm not sure...)
I take short and sometimes cold showers... I'm a weird gal.

To each his own with bathing. My step children grew up taking a long bath everyday for years. Even after one was diagnosed with eczema. When mom passed away and we got the kids full time I put that to a stop. I have eczema myself and know how horrible it can feel. Scaling back to only showering and 2-3 times a week has made major improvements.

The purpose of the shower isn’t just to clean your own sweat and oils off, it’s to get all the contaminants from OTHER people off your body. People are sneezing, vaping, smoking, etc around you all day long - FACT. There are a lot of sick and sickly people out there with contagious conditions. Wash that stuff off with hot water and soap! Paranoia is a fear of something that doesn’t exist….airborne and blood borne pathogens exist.

Some of us need to shower twice almost every day just to feel clean enough to be comfortable enough to sleep xD
Personally, first thing in the morning (or whenever we wake up), shower, bath, shower.
Then just before we sleep, a simple shower.
We are Autistic and have various other Neurodivergent conditions, that and if we don't do all that pretty much daily, instead of just a quick shower, we feel absolutely terrible, aaaaaallll, daaaaayyyyyy.
The bath is just to relax all our joints tbh though, the showers are where the cleansing is at.
Hair washing is more of an every two or three day thing, sensitive scalp, naturally soft and relatively clean hair.
For anyone wondering why we refer to ourself as "we", simple answer, OSDD-1B, please go Google DID vs OSDD, first website that compares these conditions should give you a pretty good idea as to why we're a "we" and not a "me" most of the time.

Showers: when I was in my late 20s - 30s; when I worked a full time job plus worked horses 5-6 days a week; I sure did NEED to shower every day. Now that I’m 69 1/2, disabled from a type of stroke that is fatal 70% of the time (luckily a rarer type of stroke), am retired and still trying to learn to walk again, it’s fine if I shower every 2 or 3 days. So when “SHOULD people shower”? Depends. As you get older, you realize that “it depends” is frequently the “correct” answer.
