Not sure if you are aware, but the LP5X has the same cartridge/stylus as the LP120XBT-USB, it is just a black variation of the VM95E. Hope they get you the proper unit soon!
Do you have any experience with/thoughts about the LP1240-USB XP? I purchased a couple during lockdown and they're still in their boxes and now available for less than I paid for them at the time. Looking for some good news :)
There good turntables for half the price as the technics for DJ work, I would buy the Ortofon red for a 100.00 to bring there potential out. I put a Ortofon blue on my LP120XBT-USB and it sounded much better. However I returned it to Parts Express as I do not need the DJ features.
You are correct, However I planned and bought the Ortofon Blue before the turntable was suppose to arrive, I just had no idea how bad the VM95e sounded. That was a surprise, I feel bad for those buying this turntable without understanding the importance of the stylist. Auto Technica should put a better stylist on this turntable at $400.00 my opinion.
The LP1240-USB XP is based on the 'super OEM' platform and comes with an AT-XP5 cartridge. Not sure whether anyone has any experience or thoughts on it? I'm not really attracted to the ortofon red and blue cartridges at this stage, partly because of their looks and partly due to their commonality/popularity. Guess I'm a bit petty like that, and I'm probably missing out on something, but I guess I'm also missing out on whichever other of the millions of different available cartridges I never use.
the inclusion of a stylus is just a courtesy. they're only selling you a turntable, the rest is up to the buyer. if they included good styluses with all turntables, or even just with good turntables, then good turntables would no longer be affordable. but it's a great experiment to learn how different turntables and cartridges actually make a difference to the music being reproduced.
In General you are correct, However I feel bad for people that buy that turntable and do not understanding the cheap stylus is hurting there experience .
I understand. I'm guessing that those people won't even realise until they try another cartridge. If they're keen enough, it shouldn't take them too long to discover the world of upgrading. And once they hear the difference, they may even get hooked and start a TH-cam channel :)
I honestly feel like you’re angry and you want to hate this table. I’ve been using the 120 for 13+ years. I also have been using a PL-550 with a SX-1250 and SX-1280. Coupled with some speakers that you’d also probably not like.. your review is non informational and garbage.
As opposed to the false truth? :-) Truth is neither real nor unreal. BTW, I did a few searches using different engines for Auto Technica and all the links pointed to Audio-Technica.
Trust me , when you uprgrate from a crosley portable turntable clone to this you don't need very good speaker or a good catridge/stylus to just be amazed of how better the sound quality is ... I mean on my old crosley turn table clone evry time i played ''another one bite the dust'' on the queen greatest hit album the song was skipping, same on many other record and even on a rare one (that i stopped playing of course) ... So when i tryed this model on a jbl bluetooth speaker it was an earing orgasm. Nevermind just to say that even tought it's not perfect it's god dam good enough for a beginer like me who didn't knew that turn table had a counter weight a few days ago

i have this turntable . I'm losing allot of watts when using Bluetooth connection . is this right. if i hard wire its twice as loud
