"most people play 4k or high refresh rate" that's literally just untrue the vast VAST majority of people are gonna have 1080 to 1440p TVs/monitor. Recommending people who know are gonna be mostly beginner content creators to buy something 2 if not 3 times as expensive and saying if "you wanna do content creation""long term" is insanity, it's literally the capture card equivalent as people recommending a Shure sm7b for beginners. Basically nobody but content creators with tight budget are gonna want this, anyone else are either rich enough to buy the good stuff or just play console game on their TV, which makes all the criticism is completely irrelevant. I'd hear you out if the video and the channel was catered towards gamers that aren't making content, but it's not and Fifine specifically makes budget streaming gear, content creators who are gonna stream and record 1080 60 for viewers who are gonna watch at 1080 60. your standards and your use case do NOT represent the vast majority of the community you are catering to at all, the advice you give is really just gonna lead people who probably don't have the money to begin with since this is a budget card from a budget brand, and just wanna make it, to believe you need that 4k 144hz top of the line capture card to stream
But even you said the vast majority use 1080p and 1440p monitors. This doesn’t even support 1440p either. This comment, while not what I was expecting, is something that I always consider. I’m pretty sure I know my audience well and know who they are on their journey. Mostly beginning creators wanting to stream and just want an upgrade. That being said, I can probably reference hundreds of comments on previous capture card videos complaining about 4k passthrough not being an option or passing through 120hz making them return a card. Fun fact here, those videos are 4 years old, and this card still doesn’t meet the specs they had then, and those cards are still for sale and are cheaper. So to really answer your comment, no, I do t think you know my audience as I still don’t recommend this card when it doesn’t support 4k passthrough or 120hz 1080p passthrough at its price point when competitor products do this for the same price or cheaper. You can buy a 20$ capture card off the shelves at Walmart and have better capture settings than this, and for $20
@@DarkenedCyrus this ain't a private video on discord, you video goes out to everyone, for the few people who complained thoudsands have no problem with it. less than 20% of the gamer population have a 1440p monitor. it's not that you point out the fact that it cant do higher res or fps that's the problem, it's the fact that you present it as a fatality and something that might stop people from growing that is
Thank you for the review man. I got it simply to stream my ps5 to my computer to my friends on discord and it’s looking really great. I play on my 4K monitor and I can’t really tell a difference I’m just glad it works like it should at a good price point
Use case and wider budget should be considered. If footage is being captured for TH-cam, higher resolution is pretty pointless for 99% of viewers. Also those with relatively low spec PCs to edit their video will struggle editing 4k where 1080p may be perfectly manageable. I'm not a streamer, but I only record video for my channel in 1080 for both those reasons. Also, for a new streamer, the price of one of you good units gets them this, a respectable mic, a decent boom arm and basic stream deck. All set to take on Ninja for less than $200. Sh!t that was a rant!! 😂 Happy New Year to you and yours.
lol all good. What I really mean is that 1080p 60 capture, sure. But no 4k or high refresh at all? The issue here is that a lot of console players are playing on 1440p or 4k and this capture card would force you to play only at 1080p 60fps. So a capture card would essentially lower your expected gameplay experience from a console.
So I use an Avermedia Livegamer Extreme 3 on my series X however I use a 1080p monitor with a 165Hz RR. Is it worth it to upgrade to the Livegamer Ultra?
@@DarkenedCyruson the Xbox it self I mean. U need to do manual output select hdmi then u can do the 4K 30 or 1080 at 120 won’t work on auto. This is how I had to do mine work perfectly then obs can be changed
Still is true though. Only console that really is limited to 1080p is the switch. Most console players are at 1440p or higher and using a high refresh monitor. This capture card would force you to 1080p 60fps for passthrough and capture.

U need to use manual setting hdmi override then change resolution elgato is the same most the time
I did that in the video to set a custom resolution for the video capture device. It won’t do 4k anything as passthrough with consoles.
