Good video for a ok helmet. I use it for more than a year. Pros: Quite cheap, looks good, comfortable, good visibility, good sun visor. Cons: Noisy, only one vent that can be closed, visor lock broke after 1 month of use, pinlock hard to find, color faded, no intercom precut.
I bought this on a bit of a whim - in the shop, size L (That I usually wear) felt tighter than I remember a new lid feeling - so opted for the XL instead. Cost me around £100 which I was happy to pay. I've since found that after the padding has softened up - XL is a but too big for me - I have to wear a balaclava to make my head a bit bigger. I agree that the peak isn't quite wide enough - I often have to ride with my head on the piss a bit to make use of the shade created. The peak could also do with some extra venting - I'm tempted to have a play with a drill and a hacksaw and see if I can improve that with a bit of butchery... At speeds up to 60mph as long as I don't look up at the sky, the peak doesn't cause too much drag. At motorway speeds it's really not comfortable doing lifesavers before and after overtaking/changing lanes. (Maybe size L would be a little less turbulent for me) The tinted visor switch/button is bloody stiff - compared to the slider on the top of my Caberg lids that are easy to find, operate and are smooth and easy - this one on the side feels way too stiff - to the point you're not entirely sure if you're pressing it in the right or the wrong direction. I kind of have to turn my head to the left/right to offer resistance/assistance to my left hand operating the switch. (It hasn't got any smoother in the 1000 miles use it's had so far) Once it's down - it works well but is very dark with a bluish tint - meaning in the middle of the day it's fine, but in the later afternoon & evening it's fine in the sunshine but way too dark when you head into shade/wooded areas. I usually ride with ear plugs, and when I do - wind noise isn't usually a concern. Without ear plugs this is noisier than any flip up lid than I have ever owned. It's not unpleasant - but very noisy. One gripe I have about the visor is that there's no sequential opening. It's either closed or it's open. I wear glasses and even with pinlock, often have to ride with my visor open at its lowest setting (Anywhere between 5mm and 1inch depending on the lid). This visor doesn't have a lowest setting - it'll sit unclosed with a 1cm gap - but once I'm above 40mph the wind closes the visor and keeps it closed. My AGV's and my Cabergs all have a sequential visor so when you open/close it, you can do it in stages - which you cannot do with this LS2. That said, the visor is clean and clear and offers a wide field of view with very little image distortion where the visor curves. The chin gaiter came as an additional piece for me - and I've never managed to fit it in any way where it stays put and is comfortable to wear. It seems to me like a bullshit afterthought so I've never used it. Maybe it'd reduce the wind noise somewhat - but it does help with ventilation. To summarise, for the price of the lid I like it and am pleased with it. The biggest gripe for me (As a glasses wearer) is that the visor won't stay open a fraction. I'm considering the higher priced/higher spec LS2 Explorer - but will return it if the visor is the same.
Could you tell me what is your head circumference? Mine is 59,5cm but it felt a bit tight in a shop when i was trying it on a while ago and I'm wondering if I should get an L or an XL
That lid get's constant updates, the one that saved my life had little details that looks different (no chin curtain, different style of chin vents). It stayed on the head, did not twist, did awesome job, and even if bucket is not broken you will know that helmet took the force, it gets really loose when it's spend. For this price it's awesome helmet, good to see it's get updated again. I think I will get next one as spare. Cheers!
@@teapotone Thank you! I'm glad I choose good helmet to protected me from consequences of my stupid decision at that time. I got minor concussion but I was able to ride back home. Crash speed was circa 60km/h probably slower as crash bars and pegs dug out small ditch before I was ejected, so I bleed a lot of speed and energy there (enough to change crashbars to modern art). And I was lying only 2-3m from bike when senses came back.
Just bought this helmet today and it feels fantastic. Lot of features and great design, although it's not really quiet compared to a normal full face helmet. but definitely a banger for the bucks. Cheers from Indonesia! And BTW thanks for the review Bruce!
I have one as a spare, it's a great helmet, looks mint with the gold visor. It's comfy and cool in the summer, doesn't catch your jacket collars like my shark, but you can't take the peak off and you get a lot of head drag/buffering at "motorway" speed. My son had one and it protected his head fine when hitting a badger at 50mph. Oh, don't forget you can remove the visor and use goggles with it instead!
Years ago I purchased a Caberg fliptop helmet, and was promptly ridiculed. Now there are loads of similar helmets, at similar prices. I see this helmet becoming VERY popular. We don't all insist on the latest colour-scheme or vanity helmet...
I had this helmet for more than half a year, so thanks for reviewing :)! I got it as a second helmet for dual-sport / offroad riding. Pros: great ventilation, feels lightweight, visibility is awesome especially offroad when you need to keep an eye for obstacles. You can use small goggles on (haven't tried it but that's what the Internet says). Beak cuts the air quite nicely when riding on the road, was expecting more resistance. Cons: removing the padding is easy, but putting it back is annoying. The switch for the sun visor feels clunky and can clog up with dirt and dust when riding in dry dusty summer conditions. Had to clean it thoroughly or I could've bent the inside leaver. NOTE: The cut is fairly high because it is meant to accomodate a neck brace, that's why it also has those two lip extrusions on the back.
You absolutely nailed the value of the sun visor there Bruce. I've got a Shark Spartan (the same lid as Richy ironically, but not due to him) and as a year round commuter (pre Covid and ore change of job) I found that I used it all year round for all the purposes you state. Full summer sun, low winter sun, glare off wet roads etc - it's so convenient and doesn't give you the weird distortion that polarised sun glasses can.
Thanks for the review Bruce. My husband and I usually wear Shoei but have bought the LS2 for offroad. I had the same problem with the sizing but my husband's was ok and we both bought our usual helmet sizes. Cheers from Australia!
My current helmet is a Sedici which is the sames shells. Mine is just about 3 years old and has served me well. LS2/Sedici seem to make a good helmet for a very good price.
Awrite gadge, I bought one of these bad boys about eighteen months ago. I wanted to try out the peak style helmet and didn't want to spend a fortune on it. I got a " quarterback" colourway which I believe looks great. It kinda looks like an American football style design. I love it. Your right it is a cracking lid for the money. It's great for warm to hot weather riding. It's not the quietest helmet I own but plugs sort that out. I am bang on the Arai/Shoei medium size and the LS2 is a medium. No sizing issues, it fits well. The peak has never been an issue with the wind and the drop down visor works a treat. I think I got it online from Wilkinsons??? Gave them a phone first and got advice from the guy. Purchased and never regretted.
Great helmet, had one for the past year and although I've not had the chance to use it as much as I'd like it's still great. Agree about peak, a tadge wider would be better but yes get pinloc, I'll buy these again every time. Great vid Bruce, all the best for the New Year to you and Mrs Teapot.
Tbf there's some really decent lids around the £100 mark nowadays the bell qualifier is £119 and hjc are producing some quality lids around that money far better than the floppy noisy cheaply built rubbish of the early 2000's when I first started.great vid Bruce 👍
I got my LS2 Storm touring helmet about a week ago and couldn't be happier. $120US, and it looks and feels like a helmet costing 3X the price. Agreed: the integrated sun visor is a brilliant addition to these helmets, and I wonder how I ever got along without this feature. Top marks, LS2.
Great ride and I have also now installed that CaliMoto app. Looks really good that you can do a round trip and it does all the planning for you. Might go and give this a quick test tomorrow. I was also looking at this gripper but I have a C3 Pro flip up helmet and I had to sugru the mount for the Osmo action to the front. Need to go and try this out too. Great tips thank you.
Looks a quality peice of kit for the price. I'm not normally someone that likes the peaked lids but this one is smart. Safety features are very good for prize too.
My favorite cheap helmet is my Schuberth C3...that I bought from a guy on CraigsList for $100 US. He had sold his BMW and quit riding. It is the first helmet I ever had that properly fits my oversize melon (in XXXL).
I've had two LS2 helmets now and they are great. Excellent visor quality with a wide opening for a good field of view. The ventilation is also very good, the only slight downside is it's not as quiet as my Shoei GT air but is fine with earplugs. I would definitely recommend them.
Have an LS2 (Valiant mk1, convertible helmet) for my everyday ride, it does it's job (under 200 euros) and has a hard life... looks cool and wight is ok and well balanced. Down side, very noisy and really poor ventilation when closed (the mk2 has more vents...). For the rest it does the job if you can get it cheap.
Wow impressive lid for the money Bruce looks real nice , never really seen the point of peaks on a street helmet certainly if it has a sun screen inside it's just something to catch the wind but maybe I am wrong there as I have never had one .Really like the side vision aspect ,I have a Arai and at junctions its a bit iffy looking to the side I have to crain a bit to see. Can I ask have you tried the 6D lids at all as usual great review .Cheers : )
The inner visor is great, but not in the cold weather. My inner visor fogs up bit my main visor has a anti fog insert. Which is pointless when one fogs up
Another great Vid Bruce. Could you do a review on your Knox gloves? I can’t really find much rather than 1st impression review. Your work is always open and honest and would appreciate some input before forking out £200plus on a glove.
Cheers Jonathan, Aye course, mine are about 3yrs old now but I’ve had the Knox Handroids since they first came out many years ago. I’ll get a vid done soon bud
I really liked my dirtybike LS2 Subverter helmet, really breezy, which you kinda want out on green lanes as it gets kinda warm in all the kit. Only reason I stopped using it really was due to me having an off and banging my head between lanes
That looks like a great value lid 👏🏻👏🏻 mite be a good option to take one when on a bike holiday if you didn’t want to take your more expensive helmet . Great review as always. LYL 🏍💨👍🏻
Cheers Pete - unbelievably the prices of these lids literally went up a day or so before I this vid went live!!! It’s still only £107.99 so won’t break the bank, but not quite the £79.99 steal it was 🤷♂️👍
I have the LS2 Strobe. Good value feature wise for the money. It's tight on the sides though and the speaker pockets are way off. If I had to do it again, I'd get a FF helmet as they are usually lighter than modulars.
Great review Bruce , if the sun is passing the peak you have the small interior visor to drop down maybe you dont need more peak ??? I just bought my first flip front Caberg helmet as now wearing glasses much better for putting on and off , I love the small internal tinted visors , I dont need tinted glasses ( shades) or tinted main visor .. welcome to the new year 2021
Hi Bruce!! Happy new year to you and Mrs Teapot!!!👍 Great review, I have been thinking about getting one of those as my current LS2 (my first helmet as I only started riding about 3 years ago) could do with being replaced!! Now I know it is a great buy!! Thanks very much!!!👍
Cheers Bruce cracking review. I was thinking of getting one but I know what you mean about the cut plus you have had it for some now and I haven't seen you ride with it in any other vids . Happy new year to you both
Certainly worth a look at that price ! Sizing is a real issue with online ordering though, I have also found that it takes an hour or so of riding to check if it is correct. Which is tricky. I think my head is Shoei shaped, based on my mistakes 🤔
Hi Brucie, great video and good guidance for those who are cash strapped regarding motorcycling ! I know there is a lot of rubbish helmets out there ! Some only worthy of being a ' piss pot ' ! As our economy is panned due to C19 things will more expensive as I'm lead to believe ! Hope you continue seeking out those gems that are great value for money (VFM) for the skint motorcyclist ! Take care .keep on dancing :))
Hi Teapot love your videos. I bought this lid but only used it a few times, I found I got blown about a lot so I bit the bullet and got the Arai Tour x4 wish I did this in the first place because I don’t feel the buffeting with the Arai 👍👍😊
Things have certainly changed since the last helmet I bought (been without a bike for a while now) in about 2001 was 350 quid! (It was a very nice Rossi AGV black design). Didn't have a 2nd visor. That would have been nice!
Great review Bruce 👍. Cracking value so I am going to get one for green laneing etc so I don't worry about getting my Arai scratched up. FYI; hardly any stock at the SportsBikeShop but plenty of colour options and stock at the VisorShop. Cheers
All the best TP 1 for 2021, used LS helmets before, good for the price, and the audio is good, must be the extra filter you have,,I always wear a neck roll as don’t like to have exposed skin around my neck and too easy for insects to have a go at you which is not good when riding at speed, ride safe and stay safe. Update on my mic inside half a ball, had some issues with the crackling on audio so trying a different mic just now, early tests are promising, did you have the crackling (sounds like static), the problem is it is not every time I am out, DJI osmo trial if I cannot crack this on GoPro.
Hi Bruce... great review and thinking of buying one as a second lid for commuting. I know the vents stay open, so wondered what it is like in the wet. I am right in thinking there will be quite a lot of water ingress? Thanks again for the brilliant content!!
Interesting vid Bruce I looked at these along with Caberg and Bell for a budget ADV lid. In the end I bought an AGV AX9 as I knew it would fit me well, problems when buying online in a pandemic makes you risk averse. Btw I'm taking a group to SW Ireland in June, fancy joining us?
Ah this is just perfect... bit of backpay coming my way so I’m after new complete riding gear. Really useful. I might give one a bash, can’t beat a bash of the helmet can you?! 👍 cheers man.
Hi Bruce, happy new year to you and Nicky. What would be your opinion on fitting a Cardo unit onto the helmet and camera mounts on the side are there flat surfaces or like some curved. It looks a good budget buy. 🏍👍🏴
Happy New Year to you and yours Bruce. Can you tell me whether this helmet has 'speaker pockets' built into the internal padding for easy installation of speakers? Cheers.
Nice review. Not a bad price for that lid. What type of holder have you got holding your phone into the nav slot?? Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of those 👍
This helmet only has the option to open and close the center chin vent . The lower side and the top vents stay open with no way to close those vents . This means if it starts raining you get really wet so it’s not a good helmet for traveling . Also there is no cut out for speakers so putting in a com system Is not going yo work .
I scraped a lads chin up off the road once when dealing with an RTA involving a biker with an open faced lid - Kind of put me off personally. I’ve never worn one, but I’ll be honest and say there have been times when I’d like to have as either it would fit the bike or weather conditions at the time. I see why folk wear them, but I think I’d rather get a flip-up IF I was going down that line 🤷♂️ I’ll never say never though
The ls2 mx436 that i bought had some problem with the visor, i has some distortion in it that causes discomfort in my eyes as if I'm wearing a wrong graded eyeglass, what should i do?
@@teapotone yep, and i even tried out the other mx436 that they have and same issue, I'm thinking of buying a new lense but not sure cause what if it turns out the same, and i head you said that ls2 does have some problems with their lense at 2:04 or somethin
Looking at the SHARP helmet safety scheme this lid isn't listed yet but I notice the manufacturer makes a range of helmets with safety scores from 1* to 4* (out of a maximum 5*) and all their lids are to UN ECE REG 22.05 standard, so to my mind that 22.05 measure is fairly meaningless. Not saying it's a bad helmet and I'm not one of those people that thinks cheap means unsafe, as I've seen many expensive helmets with low SHARP ratings, but I'll reserve judgment until it's got a SHARP rating. Current helmet is the first I've had with flip down sun visor and now I wouldn't buy a helmet without one. 👍
@@loooooopy Yes, take your point but I imagine manufacturers aren't going to get the vast majority of their helmets tested to race specifications if they're making them for the road. 🤷
You’re not going to believe this, but they’ve literally just put the prices up?! 🤷♂️ Honestly, I edited this last week and it was £79.99 on the SportsbikeShop website 🤦♂️
What's your thoughts on keeping bike outside teapot I currently stay in a flat so mines is out side all of the time under cover just wanted to know your opinion on it
Great stuff. Only issues I had, which are covered in the vid, is the peak seemed just a tad too narrow for me, and the lining fasteners looked lower quality compared to the likes of a Shoei Hornet ADV for example - but that’s to be expected on a lid that’s effectively a fifth of the price. Great lid 👍
@@teapotone yes, i took note of what you said about the peak. It won't be replacing my Tour-X, but like you said, excellent for the money 😉. We're enjoying your Croatia series too. Had a rainy couch day yesterday with herself and we watched it 👍👍👍👍
@@teapotone Never mind I didn't listen well I did watch it again And you already told about the visor and the problem of single layer Using without pinlock
Have a LS2 Pioneer and find the peak to small and to high, useless! Need a big helmet for my very large head and LS2 has one of largest shell sizes. I like my lid for the most parts wish the visor was clearer as I notice the distortion. Cheers!
I think the main difference that makes expensive helmets expensive is that they're produced in more shell sizes. Which might explain why this cheaper one is not such a good fit for you.
Good video for a ok helmet. I use it for more than a year.

I really liked my dirtybike LS2 Subverter helmet, really breezy, which you kinda want out on green lanes as it gets kinda warm in all the kit. Only reason I stopped using it really was due to me having an off and banging my head between lanes
That off-roading lark is dangerous Hippo, you want some nice, firm tarmac 😉😂👍
@@teapotone Hahaha, it was the tarmac where I fell off.... I'm too stupid to fall off in the soft dirty bits! :D
Good honest review Bruce, keep the brill content coming in 2021 & all the very best 🏍👍
It’s still only £107.99 so won’t break the bank, but not quite the £79.99 steal it was 🤷♂️👍
Great review video. Happy 2021.
Thanks bud, all the best to you and yours too for ‘21👍
I have the LS2 Strobe. Good value feature wise for the money. It's tight on the sides though and the speaker pockets are way off. If I had to do it again, I'd get a FF helmet as they are usually lighter than modulars.
Cheap means crap happy new year bud to u and yours
All the best for the new year , here’s hoping for the open roads of 2021🤟 ride hard ride long
Keep up the excellent work your doin Mr Teapot 👍👍👍👍
Cheers Stephen, happy new year to you and yours too bud 👍
Great review! Clear and concise 👌
Cheers Robert 👍
Happy new year to you both
Hope you had a great hogmanay love your vids.
Greets from Manchester.
Hyvä arvostelu kiitos, nice review thanks👍🏻
Cheers
Cheers Mike 👍
I’ve just bought 1 for twin Africa r there ok lids mate comes tomorrow
If you ever wondered what the big difference between a cheap and expensive helmets, the visor mechanism, especially the inner dark visor...
Good afternoon Bruce, Thank you for the video, Good value helmet. Take care and stay safe,Happy New Year to you and your good Wife,👍😎🇬🇧.
Cheers Wayne, Happy New Year to you and your family too 👍
you obviously cannot use the dango design grip with the chin curtain right?
It’ll still grip but kind of defeats the point of the curtain as it’ll fold it up
All the best TP 1 for 2021, used LS helmets before, good for the price, and the audio is good, must be the extra filter you have,,I always wear a neck roll as don’t like to have exposed skin around my neck and too easy for insects to have a go at you which is not good when riding at speed, ride safe and stay safe. Update on my mic inside half a ball, had some issues with the crackling on audio so trying a different mic just now, early tests are promising, did you have the crackling (sounds like static), the problem is it is not every time I am out, DJI osmo trial if I cannot crack this on GoPro.
Lovin the kit reviews Bruce cheers 👍
Hi Bruce... great review and thinking of buying one as a second lid for commuting.
Hi Alan,
I’d love to but can’t commit to anything this year until I know the filming schedule for the new tv show 👍
@@teapotone good luck with that, hadn't heard. If you do know free dates give me a shout.
Ah this is just perfect... bit of backpay coming my way so I’m after new complete riding gear. Really useful. I might give one a bash, can’t beat a bash of the helmet can you?! 👍 cheers man.
Quality review honest informative👍🤟
Thanks bud, glad you enjoyed it 👍
I have already for years a LS2 helmet Having great join from And was cheap as HELL
Good info, especially on the size.
great vlog buddy happy new year! quick question is the helmet noisier than the Ruroc? cheers
Hi Bruce, happy new year to you and Nicky. What would be your opinion on fitting a Cardo unit onto the helmet and camera mounts on the side are there flat surfaces or like some curved. It looks a good budget buy. 🏍👍🏴
Remind us please .... what’s the name of the powered smartphone mount you use in the Bmw powered cradle
Good stuff. Good lid at a good price.
Happy New Year to you and yours Bruce. Can you tell me whether this helmet has 'speaker pockets' built into the internal padding for easy installation of speakers? Cheers.
Ive got the same one but dont use it anymore since I bought the nexx wed 2 2021
Nice review. Not a bad price for that lid. What type of holder have you got holding your phone into the nav slot?? Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of those 👍
Cheers, it’s a cheap Amazon mount -

I think we need to get a DNA test on Bruce, find out where he's really from! Happy New Year
I don't think it's that hard to tell. I was off 99 miles to the south.
Another good review, and one I would consider if I hadn’t just got the berserker but then that’s on another level of sexy 😎☝️🏍🇬🇧🏍 happy new year
That Like/Dislike ratio thoigh :) Wow , what a community :) Happy new year
it might be gold badge but not trackday use as it has not got a double D faastener .
Good point - however I’ve never had my lids checked at any track day tbh 🤷♂️👍
Whats that jacket your wearing Bruce, Icon Raiden? Cant find much about it in the UK any links would be cool, cheers
Aye it was the Icon Raiden, I got it through moto-central here in the Uk - tell them I sent you 😉
@@teapotone nice one! Ta
Have you ever seen the I’ll of man race
Your thoughts on it please
What is the weight obviously +\- 50 grams for the different sizes ( as I have a stuffed neck “ thanks 🙏 mate great 👍 review
Is it good for rainy season ?? I think water going inside through vent . 😭😭😭
This helmet only has the option to open and close the center chin vent . The lower side and the top vents stay open with no way to close those vents . This means if it starts raining you get really wet so it’s not a good helmet for traveling . Also there is no cut out for speakers so putting in a com system Is not going yo work .
G’day mate! Can the peak be easily removed?
What do you think of open face helmets Bruce? I noticed that graham on rich vidas channel tours in one. Seems crazy to me.
@@teapotone thank you.
@@teapotone that’s the very reason I wouldn’t have one. My mug is ugly enough without adding more damage to it!
The ls2 mx436 that i bought had some problem with the visor, i has some distortion in it that causes discomfort in my eyes as if I'm wearing a wrong graded eyeglass, what should i do?
Have you contacted who you bought it from? That would be my first step, and ask for a replacement visor
@@teapotone yep, and i even tried out the other mx436 that they have and same issue, I'm thinking of buying a new lense but not sure cause what if it turns out the same, and i head you said that ls2 does have some problems with their lense at 2:04 or somethin
Yes I noticed there’s a very slight warp of vision which took me a minute or two to get used to
Looking at the SHARP helmet safety scheme this lid isn't listed yet but I notice the manufacturer makes a range of helmets with safety scores from 1* to 4* (out of a maximum 5*) and all their lids are to UN ECE REG 22.05 standard, so to my mind that 22.05 measure is fairly meaningless. 👍
Sharp is absolutely useless, they usually do static drop tests. The hardest test to pass is FIM and ls2 have helmets which pass it
@@loooooopy Yes, take your point but I imagine manufacturers aren't going to get the vast majority of their helmets tested to race specifications if they're making them for the road. 🤷
Sold..but my head diameter is 58 cm. What size should buy..?
What mount are you using for the Gopro?
Good review , but almost impossible to find for 79 quid Bruce
You’re not going to believe this, but they’ve literally just put the prices up?! 🤷♂️
Honestly, I edited this last week and it was £79.99 on the SportsbikeShop website 🤦♂️
@@teapotone typical !
I looked few days back , and the xxs was 79 !
You get the blame of costing me money 💰 lol
Is that the same lid Klim use as their Krios
No idea bud
rhanks teapotone could do with new helmet have to take a trip to j/s maidstone from me from medway ta
How easy or difficult is to install a comm system in this helmet?
What's your thoughts on keeping bike outside teapot I currently stay in a flat so mines is out side all of the time under cover just wanted to know your opinion on it
I have one of these on the way as a second lid 😁😁
Nice one bud, it’s a great lid, especially for the price 👍
@@teapotone yeah, it definitely looks that way. I got a nice colour too, same as the bike 😉😉
Had a rainy couch day yesterday with herself and we watched it 👍👍👍👍
Virtually no wind noise. Can someone explain what is a pinlock?
It's basically a flexible screen with a sticky edge that gives you double glazing so your visor doesn't mist up.
what about vents? is it too ventilated for winter riding?
No you can just shut the vents. You’ll definitely need a pinlock though
can you fit the packtalk bold to the helmet
Do you have a recomendation for a cheap helmet what can be used at lower speed ??
Not sure what you mean here bud?
@@teapotone Never mind I didn't listen well I did watch it again And you already told about the visor and the problem of single layer
Using without pinlock
can ya buy it with a pinlock with it bruce?
You may be able to get a deal from wherever you buy it from Matt, worth asking for sure 👍
Any idea on how much it exactly weighs? Thanks for the reply
I’m sure it’ll say on google bud - that’s where I’d go to look 👍
Have a LS2 Pioneer and find the peak to small and to high, useless! Need a big helmet for my very large head and LS2 has one of largest shell sizes. I like my lid for the most parts wish the visor was clearer as I notice the distortion. Cheers!
I think the main difference that makes expensive helmets expensive is that they're produced in more shell sizes. Which might explain why this cheaper one is not such a good fit for you.
This is made in three (3!) shell sizes which is incredibly good for a budget lid
