    I have found that the further I venture into my sixties I tend to take more interest in these budget bikes. There seems to be more choice and they appear to be so much better than they were 5 or so years ago.

      That's because you're disillusioned with 100 horse power hyper this, mega that. What counts is the simple sensation of two wheels and an engine. That's why fogeys pay two grand to go back to their yoof on a spindly hundred cc Yam

    Hey Bruce - the other day when I was watching one of you bru times - you referenced “ being in a bit of a downer” for about a month - and now on this vid you mention having a blue day - Bruce - the one thing about storms - is that they all pass. Just keep trucking on doing your thing - The sun will reappear the fog will lift and a Guy like you will be totally A1 again. Think we all are feeling it now. I watched you and Richie on Brutime 3 ( so quite an old one) I absolutely loved it - made my day!! - it’s hard to quantify just how much respect and love there is for you and the immense pleasure your vids give people - at least if ur a bit In the dumps u can know that every day you are having a massive positive effect on thousands of peoples lives. Hope ur well - good to see u back on the booze.

    Great review and nice to see really honest feedback. I was very keen to see and try this bike and have been pestering Sinnis for close to a year, but I think I'll hang into my cash for now and wait for the Mk2 version, with a bash plate and different gearing.

    Love seeing more bikes this size. I have a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and absolutely adore it. Definitely has plenty of punch, no problems with gearing this Sinnis has, solid components from WP Suspension and Brembo brakes. Excited to see what Husqy release in the next few years with a Norden 501 adventure bike on the cards.

    Absolutely brilliant review! As honest as they come.
    An "All Terrain" bike for £4.5k?! with tin bread bins!!!, can't fault it!
    Considering its target market, newer riders, A2 riders etc. I think its great.
    Basic, simple, easy to ride. Yes it could do with a little more grunt, but for the money?!
    I've been waiting for this review TBH, as I like the idea of a cheaper "adventure" bike, more as a toy than anything, the only comparison I can think of, is the Royal Enfield Hymalayan.
    Keep 'em coming Bruce, Be safe, ride safe and have fun.

    Hey Bruce now that is a nice lookin affordable run around great that it comes with the old shoppin boxes I would use that bike for the odd run around hobs rather than get my main bike out . Doubtless it could be changed around a bit gear wise but hey it looks the part and also for a first timer why not sensible money cheap to run I assume and I would have more fun down a lane than on a mountain bike that's for sure . : ) Well done Sinnis !

    I notice the difference in people you encounter on these back roads/lanes here in New England. With slower speeds and sharing with hikers, and cyclists, I notice a much more friendly exchange and mutual respect and decency.

    Considering a ‘bike for Mrs Headrace, I’ve got a vfr1200x and a few other bits to play on. I think based on this that the 125 would be just fine for what she needs. The bigger one wouldn’t offer any real world advantage for her needs. Great review, really useful. Cheers Bruce. Good vid Bruce. Its interesting and a good comparison to the Himalyan and CB500X. I actually own a CB and I would say the extra 100cc makes a considerable distance on the motorways and overtaking.
    The real thing to consider is I bought my CB for more than this, and have since had to buy luggage on top. That makes this a much more appealing prospect.

    When I was looking for a bike (4 years ago) I would have considered a bike like this.
    The only problem with this, and Lexmoto, Mash, Royal Enfield and others, is that my nearest dealers are 250 miles away. This is useless when it comes to warranty repairs. I really wish manufacturers would allow local bike shops to act as service agents. It surely would not add greatly to their costs and would encourage more people to buy their products.

    Great vid Bruce. I have to say though as someone that owns a sinnis 125, I don't see 4.5k of bike there, the compromises on quality I'm happy to accept on a 2.2k 125 I would not be happy to take on a 4.5k slightly bigger bike. The resale value is going to be a real issue I would imagine, whereas I don't expect anything back from my cheap 125 if I want to move on to another bike.

  • @andrewgibbs5135
    @andrewgibbs5135 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Well, that looked like great fun and the Sinnis represents really good value for money. I really like the look of it too.
    I bought a new Himalayan last year, for all the above reasons. The performance didn’t impress at all, sold it within a year.
    From the footage and the figures, the Sinnis has improved performance but I would think a 650 maybe the optimal size motor. Need a ride !
    Enjoyed that Bruce, many thanks to you. 👍

    • @nathanthepostman
      @nathanthepostman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If Sinnis take on board what Paul and yourself said it can only improve the bike
    Some have suggested comparing it to the KTM personally I think the KTM would be in a different class.

    18 litres on a 380cc is quite good. I believe we are at the beginning of Chinese bike manufacturers "outreach" , much like the Japanese 40 - 50 years ago, but at a much more accelerated rate. I wouldn't be surprised if they "caught up" in next 10 years.

    Loving the video Bruce, apart from the brief top box issue. Good on you for taking it off road! 👍👍 Pretty well equipped for a budget bike, clearly it’s not a GS, but a great option as an intro to adventure bikes. Sounds like the biggest issue is it could do with maybe different gearing so it is a bit more relaxed at 75-80?
    PS: Sorry if I have missed it but what is the circular thing you have attached to the front of your Kriega harness?

      @leslieaustin151 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, I don’t think you could sort the gearing out with a sprocket change if you want to keep some off-road capability. Like the 125 engine (I owned a Sinnis Apache, same eng/gearbox as the 125 Sinnis Terrain) the bike needs wider ratios in the box. But Sinnis seem to have sorted the quality out with their builders, I was impressed with my little bike. Les

      Yes, it’s imported and distributed into various other European countries under different names too

    I own a Himalayan and ive also had a 1 hour test ride on the T380. The T380 is more in the GS310 bracket. The T380 runs rings around the baby GS in built quality and suspension. Save your pennies and go for the T380. One downside is the gearing. The rear sprocket need up siding to get the rev's down a bit. I prefer the Wire wheels

    Probably more suited to 12stone me's than full size people, but the fact it will cope is enough. To travel on at 50 or 60mph you don't need more do you?
    And simple is good. I can fix it.
    Happy travels

    Cool video, I know Chinese bikes are good quality now but I'd be hard pressed to buy that over the KTM390 Adv.
    I had a go know Dad's 390 Duke and that goes like stink, Will do 100 easy!

    It is a very good bike for almost all purpose. How many BMW GS bikes would do the track that you did? 10%? The rest stay on the road just like any other Sinnis 380 or even 125. 80% of all bikes would not even go on that path. So credits for the Sinnis or as we say here the Motron. Only next year we have the chance of buying a 380. Keep up the good work!👌If you maintain this bike like it should you will enjoy it for years. Regards.

    At least 50kg overweight for proper off-roading though, as you intimate.

    Thank you for posting. You seem to be as comfortable offroad as I am. There is one difference. While you say "Oh God, oh God, oh God" I will say "I am going to die, I am going to die, I am doing to die". Otherwise our styles are very similar. :) Oh yeah, btw, the African Queen is not a v-twin. :) Could not resist.

    Ace to see you out on some of my local green lanes Bruce. The bike sounds quite interesting, I wonder how it would compare back to back vs the 125 version, and also up against the KTM 390 Adventure and the Honda CRF 250 Rally? Obviously they are more money, but are they more bike, or at least better value bikes?
