Yes, I'm glad you got around to it. I commented in your previous nexus pro video about this metal priming bar and plunger kit. It really makes a huge difference in the prime and amount of power you can get out of the nexus. Nothing in my main nexus is stock anymore. Foamdemic ghost 10inch brass breech, worker aluminum bar and plunger tube, worker metal pusher amd rail from other kit, foam pro shop metal trigger, and OOD 17kg ceda spring. Also workers string scar barrel. Properly sealed and tuned hits around 250-260fps after spring wore in with no flex and easy. Before the spring wore in for a few days it was up in 270s. Before I broke a nexus trying to keep it consistantly hitting just around 240fps. If you want that high of reliable power in a nexus follow that recipe. A lot of different parts costing more than the blaster but feels worth it compared to what I've spent on other blasters in the "retaliator" platform zone.
@@matthewbecker2544 I was wondering this as well. Watched vile mods have the same issue. I have both kits coming in mail in next couple days and was curious if I should keep the stock plunger tube in.. do you think it will be durable enough to handle all the other metal parts?.
The worker barrel has a beveled edge and a regular end. The beveled edge is supposed to receive the dart and the regular smooth end should shoot the dart. The bolt will not fully seat if they are swapped
Luke from out of darts recommends not using the 175 tuning cap with the turf or worker upgrade spring. I gotta say I agree. Trying it out makes for a crazy prime, and feels brutal on the blaster. I assume you’re just using a smaller spacer?
Quality video again! I think he had an Out of Darts printed top rail on there as well as a Thingiverse printed part that was taking the picatinny priming grip. That doesn't look like the original piece that wasn't a full picatinny rail.
I have both metal kits and I have yet to get the hold your thumb over the barrel when you dry fire pop as far as an air seal goes. Any tips? I don’t know where else to seal.
I also did the both of workers upgrade kits on my nexus pro and I am having issues with air sealing it off. When I have the blaster apart I can get it air sealed but when I put the blaster together and fire a shot I lose the seal! Any help would be great
From my testing, the Turf CEDA spring can get slightly better performance (avg. 223) if a tad bit of teflon is added under the o-ring to make up the difference (the metal one is about 0.3mm larger ID from stock). I think it could greatly benefit from a slightly larger o-ring. What I also found interesting, the AKBM spring with a 1" spacer got me the exact same performance as the CEDA spring (avg. 223) with a much lighter prime. One thing I just found out when opening the blaster after installing this kit, the priming block w/picatinny has very sharp corners that will start to shave/cut the plastic. Opened the blaster and had a bunch of shavings all up and down the barrel shroud. Another issue you may have, the trigger lock can also get nicked by the sharp corners of the priming bar and cause the prime to get caught on the ramp for the lock. This is assuming you haven't removed the lock so you can de-prime the blaster.
I'll have to suggest these things to the owner of the blaster. I had heard Teflon helps a little but personally if you're going to sell a drop in kit it should be just that so didn't use any for my testing.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Yep, I totally agree. Worker has sent out different o-rings with spring upgrades before to help with sealing so don't know why they don't do it with any of the Nexus parts, don't even see one with their spring upgrade. I'm actually dropping the stock plunger tube back in since it has much better sealing to test the AKBM spring vs. Foam Pro Shops spring.
@@albey1816 No, AKBM now has a 12KG Nexus spring available. It technically could fit in a Ceda but I'm not sure if it's the same length or not? Maybe it's just pulled from their Ceda springs but without one to compare it I have no idea.
Interesting, mines getting matching numbers in sometimes high with a magnus spring around the stock spring and a brass barrel, still gotta order the 2nd kit for the missus brought not built version in comparison. @@BradleyPhillipsYT yeah that’s what I thought, I have a swift on the way for that very reason (using the promo code Brad of course). I’ve done everything I can but still haven’t got the finger over the barrel *POP* air seal which is quite frustrating. Any tips? Thanks
Do scar barrels inherently place a torsional torque on darts that they will drift to the left or right depending on how the rifling pattern is inside the scar barrel? Can they be zeroed in by using laser or red/green dot sights? Thanks. Yosh.
I haven't noticed then drift left or right based on the scar barrel. Generally wind is what causes that. But you can definitely zero your blaster with a red dot sight.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I've only been able to compare a scar from FranzFoamWorks and a free one from Thingiverse. Great video as usual! Love to know what the FPS were after the first upgrade. I have a brass barrel and a big spacer and I'm trying to decide what I want next. :)
I put both parts of the kit on my nexus and when I fire it, the dart won't even leave the barrel. I even have a spacer on the spring. Do you have any suggestions?
What kinda of fore grip is that? Rear stock looks like just an real steel AR style stock? Seems to perform similarly to the swift, just a lower FPS, harder prime.
I've installed both metal kits but the prime feels unsmooth, the telescoping peice has a fair bit of friction and the bolt head is pretty hard to insert, should I get some lubricant for the O-Rings?
Trying to decide between the nexus pro and the stryker. The stryker seems to hit harder stock, and looks better. But can the nexus be modded above and beyond the stryker's mod capabilities? Trying to get the most bang for buck.
