Certainly, but this is their first dive into high-capacity half length foam dart shooters that absolutely blows NERF out of the water. I'd like to see a Dictator review. The aesthetics and ergonomics appeal to me more than the Conquest.
I like the Dictator way more than I thought I would. I still don't know if I like it or the Tomcat better. Took them both to a war and got tons of tags with both.

I was thinking Villainator too or even the Magnum X2 (Pistol Version) since Tomahawk is motorized and not really a fair comparison.
The Villainator doesn’t have dart posts, so it can technically take half darts, you just have to ramrod them in

I think I'll be sticking to the villainator. Price, like the form-factor, lower FPS for more friendly play, and swappable drums.

I absolutely love this blaster. My favorite blaster I've ever owned. Ordered it on launch day and it's PERFECT for my play style. If you don't like mags, and you do like springers, buy it. Buy it now.
Even if you like mags, this blaster is so thin and there's already a mag adapter out for it.

I love Dartzone, and now that they are selling 50 round drums separately I am a repeat customer!
Fun fact, there's already a mag adapter for this on Franz Foam Works.
And I was slightly worried about this blaster too. Some were getting theirs with the mold making it slightly bent, and the rotation issue of the Deuce was also a factor in that for me. Looks like things are much better
Dude I love my Tomcat and I'm in love with Dart Zone! Adventure force too! They're honestly the most amazing company I've seen in a long time! The way they interact and listen to the community is unmatched! Same for the way they watch the aftermarket industry! I can't get enough of their products!

Sometimes the enthusiasm seems unwarranted to me anyway, but not this time! I was just as enthusiastic when I got mine!
Already made my tomcat mag fed, and can swap right back to drum or vice versa. Also have a folding worker stock and a shotgun style pump grip on the way. I love it.
I love how this looks. For something many were waiting for, I’m glad to it’s not disappointing. It’s pricey, but it seems worth it. I definitely want one! Just wanted to say as well, thank you very much for signing our sign, we’re going to frame it when we get it!

I was actually astounded that the Tomcat was a springer and not a flywheeler. Tomahawk? Tomcat? Is there a naming scheme here?

@@WalcomS7 Obviously based on the Tommy-gun name. (though the Tomahawk is also named after the looks of the front end. Looks like a wedge tied onto a stick.) They thought of it after the Villainator, which they presumably named because of the Tommy-gun's association with Mobsters.

Walcom, your are correct. I never touched my Nexus anymore. The Tomcat is now my default blaster in a match.
AC foam works really needs to make a scar barrel for this thing. The Nexus pro one fits and works, but it's near impossible to get out once it's in. Trust me, I've tried lol.
I like how when the dart hits the side of the chronograph it still fires harder than most elite blasters

Love the Tomcat! Like my comment on the 1.2 review, I feel like the Tomcat does all the right things. Like you said the ergo, and simple, smooth, astetic is really nice!
Also probably best blaster of 2022. I'm kinda in love with the Fate too though! Such a fun, simple, effective, moddable platform that is extremely comfy and versatile!

I still love my Nexus Pro and won't stop using it but the Tomcat is a must for any Nerf Squad. One of the best business decisions Dart Zone made since coming out with the Nexus was the Tomcat and then they went a step further and started selling 50 round drums separately which now makes it possible to go into battle and never have to reload! And Man, it hits like a sledgehammer. Definitely not for young children unless you hate them!
Seriously though. I was eagerly awaiting every single Dart Zone release this year. It's like they were making my own personal wish list. And then they released... Yeeeah... Glad to see this is good. Though I'm still extremely disappointed in their new flagships and especially the Deuce Pro.

I'm a sucker for the Chicago Typewriter, so this along with the Alpha Auto 72 and the Villainator...I'm going to have to get a Zoot Suit aren't I?
Pop open the barrel attachment and you can swap out the 19mm bit that goes into the front of the blaster with a Worker scar. Keeps the same external look, attaches the same way, and there's your accuracy taken care of 😎
I really like the idea of using standard Nerd stock attachment points on these blasters, I just wish they would go for a more reinforced design. Most nerf blaster will have a little ledge of plastic that fits under the stock when it's attached and that would help a lot
This blaster is the embodiment of the phrase 'function over form'. Very simple, but very effective.
I love your videos. One thing that is odd to me about all foam blaster reviewers: why they don't vise/stabilize the blasters for the accuracy tests. Seems like an odd thing to NOT take a scientific approach to...

The Tomcat makes a good sniper rifle. I added a custom barrel, bipod, and a real scope and it's now my go to weapon.

Might be the best blaster of 2022. There's a NERF RIval blaster on the horizon I am massively hyped for though, and while it's a 2023 release it might be here before the end of the year.

I have to say, I waited with such excitement for the 1.2 and now, this may be my next blaster purchase instead. Solid review as always brohamilton.
I love my Tomcat, it's an amazing blaster. It can be a little cantankerous sometimes, and the slamfire is....eh, at best, but I don't use slamfire, so for me it's genuinely my ideal blaster.
The Tom Cat is legit just a nerfed version of a AA12
I'm honestly surprised that they are not only sticking with but expanding the pro line😊

I totally agree walcom this is the best one they came out with this year, and yes as I am sure you know by now there is already a mag conversion kit. I just got the files and can't wait to get it printing. I am personally not a drum mag fan, and wish this had come out mag fed. The dictator would have been my choice for #1 if it had the power the tomcat has, but that should be an easy fix and is probably the most flawless in operation than all the rest of this years offerings.
i do hope dart zone take all the criticisms at heart and improve their next line of blasters i wholeheartedly believe theyre the better ones out there

For xmas getting this for not only myself but my special guy. Two xmas together anniversary and totally in love and in love with flinging foam. Probably the biggest splurge I'll make on a blaster. Lol I'm cheap and wait for sales and only pay full price for blasters I fall in love with (eg. Saturn, Takedown, Sportsman, Spectrum) so this'll be a hell of a xmas. Thinking ahead already cause as you get older it comes before you know it.

I would love a mag fed Tomcat. It'd be epic for CQB =, even though they have other guns for that. It would be really nice in my opinion. The Nexus and Stryker have the grip that's either too hard to prime or too uncomfortable, plus you have to have your hand ALL the wat out to the front of that long barrel. The tomcat seems to have a closer more comfortable prime (without the drum getting in the way)

That appears to be the standard DZ Max packaging for online exclusive blasters. That’s what mine came in. As well as my MK2 and MK3. They don’t exactly have to make them look pretty since they just sit in a warehouse until someone buys it. 1.2 and 2.2 boxes only looked cool because of the FPT.

I refused to listen to Dart Zone instructions on how to load the outer ring. You can easily use a ballpoint pen to shim the dart to the outer position and reuse the rear load gate. Bam, no bent darts.

I’m not gonna lie just keeping the cheek rest on would be good because it’s hard to aim at that point so you can just use the sites that come with the blaster so that is okay. I’m not gonna throw an aiming device on there no point.

Ah, but is it enough for Canadians to spend ridiculous amounts of additional money to get another Dart Zone product over an Adventure Force? I don't foresee dumping my Nexus Pro anytime soon.
I am wondering how those four non-fired darts happened. If the drum over-rotated that's fine: you have 46 shots and no dry-fires if you watch your drum. If it failed to rotate 4 times, that causes dry-fires but you can probably fix it with practice if it is caused by short strokes or because you if the drum hangs on your arm. If the pusher failed to load 4 darts-- that is a problem. Unpredictable dryfires and jams are the true killers for a blaster. If it did 8% random unpredictable dry fires, it isn't fun to use.
