Vladimir Samsonov, retired from table tennis . Perhaps one of the greatest servant to the game and his country. He had one of the most legal serve and was the best controller of the game. Truly amazing player and the Chinese rightly called him the Tai-Chi master meaning the perfect mix of attacking and defensive characters. Also Vladimir Samsonov has the second highest titles by a player. He is only behind Ma Long.
So calm and seemingly easy yet effective and elegant. So much technique and no hurry at all - looks like he controls everything. Yet it’s just a compilation Samsonov is living legend doubtless.
40 years of age and still at the top of his game. His strokes especially the backhand push and strokes are some of the cleanest that the table tennis world has ever seen simplay samsonov
I cannot believe he is my mom's age but still going strong. But him being the number 1 player from Belarus for so many years is not a proud fact, but poor new generation quality players in Europe.
Samsonov's sense of the moment of surprise is unbelievable (and also still more rarely visible in table tennis imho). Respect for such an initiative play.
Every movement, every shot, every serve, every attack, every block, is just so PERFECTLY executed and smooth, JUST HOW HARD do you gotta train to achieve this touch, jesus. BRAVO!
I've seen a compilation of this sort for most Chinese players and was desperate for one on Samsonov. As someone already commented, after Jan Ove Waldner, Vladi is the best trickster and a magician the table tennis World has seen. At his age (43, currently), being able face off against the quality of Chinese players and players like Ovtcharov(against whom he almost won the 2019 Europe Top 16 Cup) is simply amazing. He is one of the legends to have played the game and in a generation where most people idolize Chinese players, I am proud to admit that I idolize Vladi and I hope to play like him one day. #Vladiisthebest
I don't understand what happens to a player if he turns 40? Why is it assumed that by 40 a player is finished? Its all about being fit and practicing hard enough. You can be as competitive as a 20-25 yr old player.
@@salmon2518 I don't agree with that completely. That might be natural stuff, but not when you put the right practice and effort to keep yourself fit, and also samsonov's game is not hard on his body unlike someone like ma long or fan zhendong.
@@MrUtoobee it doesnt matter how fit you try to be you age, your muscles dont die and regrow they overtime cant do well on their own ofcourse there are people that are really athelete at 40s some people can last longer then usual just because of luck and genetics its just an average estemate on when your body slows down My own dad is about 47 and works as a builder and is quiet fit i dont say you must be worse at 36 its just the average estimate

Absolutely. Its all about angles and impacting opponent's position. That's why chops, jabs and pushes are vital part of the game and its not limited to side spins or top spins and smashes.
@@dickn.ormous1064 I disagree, none of these players mentioned stayed ín the top 10 for 23 years. Even waldner. Who cares about the wttc? Continous top form, week by week.

dude, he's retired from competitons, he's still a table tennis PRO, that is, making MONEY from table tennis
Samsonov is a legend. He makes incredibly hard shots/block/counters looks so easy and smooth. Unique player.
Yes and I want to know how
After Waldner Samsonov is one of the biggest magicans in TT. So much feeling for the ball. Unbelievable

Великолепен Самсонов!
He always looks extremely slow and sluggish, but he returns with such ease and precision and so much control.
I cannot believe he is my mom's age but still going strong. But him being the number 1 player from Belarus for so many years is not a proud fact, but poor new generation quality players in Europe.
If he was from Asia, he would have been muscled out from the top league by younger players. But alas..
Rosh Louis He is from Belarus
Игорь Данилович Ops a silly mistake. Thanks.
Rosh Louis ok
Rosh Louis i
Samsonov has the most legal service in table tennis ever.
yep!
Is that sarcasm?
shogrran damn, yeah!
Timo does
What does that mean: "the most legal service"?
1:51 he saved an edge ball!
The hell? I call haxx
That was a great reflex!

A perfect master of his craft , a true legend, thank you for your excellence, I bow to you, Mister Samsonov !!
My favorite player!! Thank you Top 8 TT !!
THE TSAR ^^ !

Не интересуюсь настольным теннисном, но всегда казалось, что с азиатами нереально конкурировать, но этот мужик доказал что можно, красавчик!
Samsonov, Waldner and Boll, the best of Europe from all time!
How about Jan-Mi.Save and Maze?
1 j'o waldner 2 j.persson 3 s.bengtsson all swedes, Boll and Samsonov are welcome to top 3 when they found a wttc title.
Persson is eaqually as superior at no2 spot as waldner is at no1 spot.,its a long gap to no3
Dimitrij Ovcharov?
@@nicklasandersson5606 I suppose Gatien is better than bengtsson.
Everything about the guy is intimidating. His face, his size, his name, and of course his game.

He is really a legend !
Thank you so much, I've been waiting for this one quite a while, Thanks!
Incredible material as always !
He is my favourite player. Thanks to him I love table tennis.
tt can look so easy and elegant. thx, vladimir.
If everyone had longass legs and was 1.89 like him,TT would be easy and elegant for everyone.
Can't believe he's 40 years old and can still match against the Chinese
JO Walnder also.

These compilations keep getting better, keep it up.
I miss him already. I miss this style of play. Almost every player now is more power-power-power-fastball-fastball-fast-ball.
really like the slow motion shots - keep them coming
Seems like his centre of gravity and his crossover point is wherever he wants it to be
great player, clean style, a lot of variety
I have been waiting so long for your next video. Awesome video as always. :-)
my trainer who was an olympic dutch player said that i am gonna be a player like Samsonov. hard on my way. what a compliment😍
красавец -отличный теннисист

His (samsonov) height is a huge advantage for him.
Samsonov, your mother! great game, nice to watch this video. Like the maner of your game.
SamsOnov is still playing. And where are his opponents?!
2019 and still here. 43 years old
Here we are in 2019 and Samsonov is still top 25 in world.
proud of living in Belarus ❤️💚
Vladi the BEST!!!!
👊✊
Vladimir "Elegant Giant" Samsonov :)
Владимир Великий.
Крассавец Володька!!!
Wow. He makes it look so effortless
He and Oh Sang Eun share similar styles and I like both of them.
Жыве Беларусь)
Владимир ты красавчик! Отлично защищался и китайцев побеждал! :)
The Veteran among the Veterans
Какой же он классный мастер!!! 🎉
My best all round player in the world !!
Such amazing skills!
Bravo! Великолепен!
no wonder he's a legend!
He's such a fantastic legend.
Pingpong played by samsonov is simply a beauty
Невозмутимое лицо, прекрасная игра
he shows a lot of calm in his moves 🇧🇾
great!! 그는 전설이다 그와 함께 경기햇던 사람들이 국가대표 감독을 한지도 오래되었는데 그는 아직도 현역선수이다 대단한 자기관리이다
Мощный прямолинейный стиль. Это очень круто!
Legend!
4:58 first time I have ever seen an ace in table tennis.
Waldner did that against Samsonov among many others.
Most elegant player... Seems to have so much time
samsonov..a big name in TT..become a legend
Сколько ж трудов на тренировках!
Awesome vid dude!
Император настольного тенниса!
Finally, someone who understands placement of the ball. Until now, i was wondering why players don't use opponent's position as an advantage.
it is an advantage..but some don't do it as it connotes "uncivilized" game play, but I use it all the time, as i don't smash too often :)
Absolutely. Its all about angles and impacting opponent's position. That's why chops, jabs and pushes are vital part of the game and its not limited to side spins or top spins and smashes.
Sam is a real gentleman.
Великий! И нехер спорить
So nonchalant😂 I love it!
my favorite player of all time
Hi , please make next video about Xu Xin one of the best modern penhold players .
This man's backhands are fatalities.
he almoat a giant, damn these points i didnt know he this good
lord of control
Waldner is the lord of control.
of course, Waldner is a legend, i meant, in the modern table tennis i didn t see someone who can manage all the strokes like Vlad.
1:33 what a point
Everything appears to be in slow motion bcz of his play style... 😁
4:28 unbelievable
В свои годы номер один
brilliant
A player who looks energetic like Harimoto is good, but a calm player like him is also good.
Probably the only player in tt history who has been able to keep up with the others (top 10) continuously for 23 years.
The only top20 player he ever beat at the WTTC after 1997 was Waldner in 2001/2005.Longevity wise Klampar/Grubba/Waldner/Surbeck were better.
@@dickn.ormous1064 I disagree, none of these players mentioned stayed ín the top 10 for 23 years. Even waldner. Who cares about the wttc? Continous top form, week by week.
It's better when gangsta's paradise on the background
He is my idol !
Such a beautiful sport
He is great.. Brazil fans
4:54 when you play your little brother in the garage
Самсонов просто демон )))
Почему стол кажется таким маленьким? У меня дома 152*274 но он кажется намного, намного большим. Это может быть из за маленького помещения?
Человечище!
Hey Top 8 TT can you make a video of XuXin next please
People say i play like samsonov😍
Cool!
Samsonovcan still beat people in 2019,he was rank2 in 2001
