TESTING VLADIMIR SAMSONOV'S TABLE TENNIS BAT!

  • What’s going on guys, last month I set off on my travels to Saarbrucken Table Tennis Club in Germany to hang out with the table tennis icon that is Vladimir Samonsov. While I was there I got the chance to test his personal bat setup. Vladi is simply a legend! A former World Number 1 and alongside his other incredible achievements, he was able to remain inside the World Top 10 rankings for a staggering 15 years straight!
Vladimir uses the Tibhar VS Unlimited blade combined with Tibhar MXP both sides. Enjoy!

He was really appreciated when he was younger. But nowadays with social media it's hard to compare. Young players prefer Harimoto, FZD or Calderano. The only exception seems Timo Boll even if he is 4 or 5 years younger with a similar career.

Nice to hear something about non- Butterfly brand, but many remain untouched ! It will be better to compare with various blades with Limba outer layer from different brands. Koto outer layer vs Limba outter layer can't be a right context to compare. Within Limba outer layer it could be diversed in feelings when comes for ALC, ZLC, super ZLC and so on. In brief soft vs stiff blades behave totally different and it depends on the required playing styles as well.
Moreover, it was initially made and now modified externally to CCA unlimited from Tibhar. And also it is quite simlar to Butterfly Freitas ALC.

Had a viscaria for a while with tenergy 05/05x and struggled. Too much for me. Mere club hacker! Went for 09c on Innerforce. Feels really good but made mistake of ordering wrong handle and stuck with it. It’s an anatomical and on a Innerforce ALCs it’s just too small and puts me right off. Can’t afford to change it as been used only a few times. Went back to victas quartet flared handle, VS 401 forehand and VS402 Double Extra on backhand. Absolutely love it. Feel, touch, power when you want it. Beautifully made. Can afford to change victas rubbers as they are SO reasonably priced. I’m back with them for a while now. If only I’d bought correct handle in first place. Got £304 sitting doing nothing. Just not comfortable. Shame. Rubbers great/blade combo. Lucky to have a back up and only £205!!!
