For me personally, I understand why Ford went with the Ecoboost due to fuel efficiency reasons and also give more power (based from the stats) with the use of Turbos. For the size, it really needs a V8 and I have to say that I am going with the Tahoe for this reason. Plus, the Tahoe and the Suburban comes with the RST package which will come with a 6.2L V8 (Truck version of the LT1) that produces 20 more hp than the platinum Expedition and comes with a Borla exhaust which gives it a nice pronounced V8 growl.
DaNihselAuto drive them back to back. The ford is faster, more efficient, handles MUCH better and tows/hauls more. The V8 in the Chevy sounds better but it’s a 60 year old design and has been out of date for decades.
narebman The only reason they are fast is because of the amount boost it produces from the turbochargers. Plus I discussed the Ecoboost engine in one of my videos on a 2017 Expedition how, yes it's fast but thats from the turbos spooling up and giving out boost which isn't really true power from an actual naturally aspirated engine compared to the Tahoe's 5.3L and 6.2L V8. Plus, you can talk all you want on how out-dated the small block V8 engine is in Tahoe, but it is the most reliable engine in the market and easiest engine work on from a mechanics and car guys stand point. You can do anything with a small block V8. I have driven a TTV8 and only reason it got the power is because of the boost from the turbos. The negative side of the Ecoboost and the Expedition is that there is no boost gauge and every car guy knows when you have a forced induction engine, a boost gauge is a must. Sorry, my decision hasn't change. However, if Ford keep their 6.2L Engine like in their first gen raptors and did more updating, then that would be something to discuss about. In the mean time, Ford is out of the competition at this point and went a new direction to please the environmentalist.
DaNihselAuto saying it’s not true power from a naturally aspirated engine because it’s not a naturally aspirated engine is sort of like saying left isn’t truly left because it isn’t right. Of course not. Naturally aspirated and forced induction are different, but fast is fast. You’re right that you can take a small block Chevy to a good tuner and tell them how much power you want and they can just give you a bill and get it there. Tons of mods available. But then if you really want a boost gauge you can get that too. If you just like a small block Chevy that’s cool. It’s got a lot of good things going for it, but it’s still old and I don’t think there are too many people tuning their full size truck based suvs for max acceleration anyway. Most reliable?! No. If you want most reliable go to Honda or Toyota; they’ve got ford and Chevy beat.
"it’s still old and I don’t think there are too many people tuning their full size truck based suvs for max acceleration anyway" You haven't been exploring TH-cam that much. You should look up Modded Sierras and Silverados (where the Tahoe is based from the same platform). It can be done.Better yet people have cammed a truck before. Over time, people will be modding their SUVs in no time since they are more focused on family but don't want to give up their performance car DNA. EX: /watch?v=7k-FlX-bmcs /watch?v=A_1PAOlY3Vw&t=26s "Most reliable?! No. If you want most reliable go to Honda or Toyota; they’ve got ford and Chevy beat." Ok, When I mean reliable, I was doing a comparison between the Ford Ecoboost vs the LS small block. Should have been more specific since this video is about the Ford vs Chevy which was mainly the point of my comment.
DaNihselAuto you don't need a boost gauge. Only reason you'd need one is if you turned the boost up and needed to monitor it. Oh, and power is power no matter how it's made.
Since i'm waiting for my all new Suburban LTZ 7 seater, none of these trucks would be an option. But if i had to make one, the Thaoe would definitely rank the top.
DJCARBON2012 lol that’s funny cos it’s not true. When I worked in auto sales, the only used vehicles I heard horror stories about (two of them were to friends) were GM vehicles. I couldn’t talk them into anything else either. They were die hard Chebby people like you. It doesn’t impress anyone when you can’t do anything because you are working on replacing your transmission, so your busy, car isn’t working, and you have no money.
Don't understand why people need backup camera if you know how to drive you wouldn't need them all this technology in these cars are making people worst drivers they have no type of connection with their vehicles learn to drive with without all of this stuff. Just think when that stuff starts to fail the car is going to go haywire and you not going to be able to go anywhere or end up getting yourself into an accident
Derick Martin People know how to drive, but when they spend that much money on these full size SUVs, they want the luxury of the cameras and sensors. Its not making people bad drivers, its simply assisting them and giving them what they paid for.
Excellent. Excellent comparison!!! I have a Tahoe now and am really considering the Expedition after test driving it a few days ago. It was AMAZING. I felt like MONEY in it!
Tbh, this isn’t really fair. The Tahoe showcased here is an older model, while Ford JUST came out with the Expedition in the video this year, so of course Ford had more time developing this and has better features than the Tahoe. Just wait tho, Chevrolet will probs come out with a better competitor to the Expedition. But all in all though both are beautiful SUVS and I’d love to own both one day 😁💯 But I love Chevys styling more so imma have to take the Tahoe LTZ 😁😆
The 5.3 and 6.2 Ecotec engines were all new engines in 2014 and they have direct injection only, not ported and direct which is the new trend. These engines are having huge problems with valve carboning.
Till this day I'm still driving my 2000 5.4L V8 Expedition & I haven't had any sort of problems other than regular maintenance & a few upgrades like LED instead of regular bulbs, audio upgrades etc. Nothing serious. This car is very well taken care of. From bottom to top, inside & outside! I can say that I am a very proud Ford expedition owner. No matter where I go, I'm always getting great complements from people when they ride in my Ford.
Andrew Cunnison, this is just your opinion and taste. I’d say the exact same thing but about the Tahoe. It was a strong attempt at copying the Tahoe but they did it in ugly Ford style
Dubby Jr just so you know he missed alot of things in the expedition, suck as massaging front seats, a second glove box, the fact that the expeditions entertainment systems also has HDMI inputs but they are for the individual screens so there are 2, push button folding 2nd row seats from the 2nd row to get into the 3rd with a grab handle, also that there is a lip in the sill plate for the hatch so if you park on a hill your groceries or whatever don't roll out, and if you get the cargo package you can lift up a secondary floor panel in the cargo area and turn it into a shelf. Still want that Tahoe?
Dubby Jr also with the easy enrty systems for these trucks, the expedition has an actual sensor in the door handle so you can just pull it open when it's locked with the key in your pocket or whatever, the Tahoe had a toggle lock/unlock button that you have to push every time rather than just tapping the handle to lock and pulling to unlock.
I like Gm vehicles but I have to take my hat off for Ford. That Expedition is REALLY nice and I think the Lincoln Navigator is a far better vehicle than the Cadillac Escalade.
I like the 2018 Ford expedition. We have a 2014 e l XLT...... lost our 2001 due to heavy fog..... had an opportunity to rent a 2017 Chevy Tahoe; now I'll give you this the Tahoe was pretty comfortable sitting when you were sitting upfront or in the middle row; but the back was too claustrophobic; plus you didn't head legroom; and when you corner in the truck it always felt like it was about to tip over( I guess top heaviness) but when we bought a 2014 expedition it just hug the road more. The weight difference was very obvious the Tahoe was much much lighter and that was good just not when you were going around curves. The take-off is phenomenal in both trucks!! My wife parents are up in age and my grandmother. Sometimes we take them out on weekend rides and they all agree that the EL XLT is very comfortable and tailor fitted!!; haven't had a chance to try out the 2018 expedition but I hope they stuck to those riding qualities that the 2014 possessed are improved on it....
These $75,000 suvs are just not worth the money. I'm sorry, but adding a little more leather and sensors doesn't Constitute a $30,000 increase in price from previous years. Furthermore, if you need a 360° camera to park any vehicle. You shouldn't own one. 😂
I have a 2018 Suburban LS, my 5th Suburban over 20 years. Before I owned all the high end luxury cut model versions. I was looking at the 2018 Premiere model. Nice ride just too much on price! I drove the LS. I was surprised how much it had vs. the Premiere. GMAC gave me a great deal and I haven’t been happier with a Suburban. I remember a few friends with the early Expeditions, what a nightmare those cars were from the beginning! Now Ford wants us to believe their 6 cylinder will some how make it better! No thanks! I’ll stick with my tried and true!
Had a 2008 Tahoe but my lil kids got too big and we traded for a 2010 expedition which had more leg room. the Ford cargo space was also better than the Chevy. The Tahoe was a better drive than my expedition. Would go back to a Tahoe when my kids leave the nest
I drove both was a tough decision but I ended up buying the tahoe premier and I'm not disappointed I'm very happy with it and imo it looks way better than the Ford by a long shot and I like the suspension better the magnetic ride control it handles like a sports car

Ford has always offered a superior SUV especially after the 2003 redesign that gave us IRS, PowerFold seats etc. features that the GM triplets either just got or still don’t have. But somehow I still manage to see the GM SUVs outnumber the Expy when in public, do people purchase the GM triplets for the “looks” ?!? The 03-17 Expeditions were ahead of their time.
GM tends to offer better packaging and their powertrains have a track record of being reliable, cheap to maintain, and delivering better than advertised fuel economy
the engines maybe similar in performance and mpgs at sea level but all that changes when you start driving them in elevated regions where fords, twin turbo 3.5l, v6 starts to really come into play over the non turbo, 5.3 v8, gm engine.
Pure Life Nice interior ok... but full of rattles and drives like shit compared to expedition with that IRS which makes a world of a difference while car has load and when dealing with bumpy roads, thr GMs trio are all over the place, while the Ford stays calm composed and quiet inside, Sorry GM fan, its no use Ford has muscled the better SUV
Pure Life yes that Interior is quite good but the expedition has much better comfort especially when it comes to driving, etc. And dont ever say Ford copy's Chevy, ever again! Ford never, never will and has no reasons to copy any of its competitors, that interior designed came from Ford's F150 which been a class leading design that competitors like RAM, Chevy, etc trying to catch up on the past 3-4 years. Dont ever say such thing again.
Andrew Cunnison first of all you don’t tell me what to say and not say, the Chevy has been out since 2015 and still looks better inside and out than the ford, it took ford 3 years to make it better and review there main competitor and improved their vehicle of course with the quick new technology that cars have for 2018 but the Chevy has 90% of what the Ford has and if you look at the video you can see the amazing similarities, down to the chrome on the outside front windows and even the rims of the suv are almost identical, they copied a lot from Chevy because they are the benchmark it’s the smart thing to do, but being different is what is needed in the segment and that’s what ford failed To do instead copieing their competition.
Pure Life Im sure I can say what ever I want to to say. Yes, that Chevy been around for years but Ford didnt copied its design and oh yea, its not crappy than the Expedition
In 2007 I had a brand new Suburban and someone T-boned me, I ended up with an Expedition as a rental and it was the worst piece of crap there was. Fuel economy was pitiful for the Expedition getting barely 18 mpg on ths highway while the 6,100 pound Suburban got 22. I guess alot had to do with the fact the Suburban had displacement on demand, switching from 8 to 4 cylinders at cruise. Steering, climate control, seating and throttle response was poor at best for the Ford where the Chevy was like riding in your living room and it hauled when the go pedal was pushed.
Vern Hoke this was also in 2007, they aren’t even based on the same frame. Both companies have changed 99% of themselves since then (mostly due to the economic struggle in 2008) this comparison of yours is irrelevant now as those vehicles have nothing in common with the 2018 models. Nice try though! 😉
I had a zach Morris cell phone and it was big and heavy. Honestly the 07 expedition is nothing like today’s version. Drive them side by side and you will find the 5.3 is a dog. The ecoboost has serious power. My wife has an expedition and test drove the Tahoe because she likes the looks of the Tahoe better (her expy is a 2015) and the first thing she noticed was how slow the Tahoe is
I’ve owned both in the last 4 months, and rest assured, the Ford is WAY better in every way. My kids absolutely love it, and the ride quality, powertrain, and technology are absolutely better than that of the Tahoe...
You also miss that the Ford Expedition has a optional tilt and intrusion sensor not like on the thaoe wich is only have a tilt sensor and a rear glass sensor and aswell mosion inior sensor but the ford has a tilt sensor a glass sensor and also a intoir sensor and a locking glove box and center console when the alarm is actuvaded
I love the leg room in the Ford , but driving a “ fix or repaid daily “ vehicle , just cannot do it. Our Tahoe had over 150,000 miles and still going strong. Very little time in the shop. But regardless of what vehicle you buy, regular service is a must. And I am a firm believer in 87 plus octane for fuel.
Nad Farg Our rental tahoe broke down with 6k on it. The engine was shaking extremely violently and struggling to start, all the fords my family have owned have lasted 300 to 500k with minimal issues.
Puff the Magic Dragon A rental lol rental cars get abused a lot and you don’t know it if it was your personal cars I’ll believe you but I’ll say the same thing about a Chevy they last a long time
My XR was $755 for a phone and while I was on a spending spree I was going for a expedition but when I got the price tag of $76,573 I was like see ya and stocked with my 2001 impala which I would like to say is a good cheap car
I’m still so torn on which one to get. I’ve watched this and other videos several times. Both have their pros and cons. Expedition- Panoramic sun roof Black interior is easier to find Suspension seems stronger Shifter knob is nicer Key code Chevy Heads up display V8! No cam phasers issue Looks way better The touchscreens, shifter buttons ans suspension on the new ones (21 and up) are just perfect but the price!!
@dodgeguy612 I guessing it will borrow heavily from the new Silverado in looks and parts. Maybe they'll decide to stick that amazing straight 6 duramax in their too
I'm a die-hard Chevy man but , I have to admit . The v6 engine the Ford offers and the little known flaw the Tahoe and suburban has , being the footrest block for the left leg , not allowing for full leg extension is the deal breaker for me . I'm a big guy , and I need the leg room . The Ford just has a more comfy ride because it doesn't have that left foot block rest uneven with end of the driver side floor panel I don't understand why Chevy does this . I love the Impala but , that left leg footrest sticks out and makes me put my left foot to close to brake pedal . I have to do this to even out my left leg with my right while I'm driving . I don't get the thinking behind this at all . Do they think leveling out both legs near the brake and gas pedal will cause people to mistakenly drive with two feet ? Is this supposed to be a way of stupid proofing their vehicles ?
@@mattX5 year means nothing, its generation that does. This Tahoe came out with the 2014-2018 Silverado, this expedition comes out with the 2015-current f150

That was so unbelievable helpful. Having a hard time choosing between the Yukon SLT and the new Ford Expedition FX4...... Ford here i come. Great video. Thanks
D.J.'s Car Reviews In person the exterior of the Navigator and Expedition is ugly compared to the Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade but in Ford's defense I like their interior better.
What people brag about in the Exp. actually make it dangerous. And that’s the independent rear suspension. I’m an Exp. owner that had Burb and Tahoe in the past and ready to go back.
Ford is just now catching up but didn't blow the 4 year old Tahoe out of the water. I would still get the Tahoe RST over this with the 6.2L 10 Speed and it'll be more powerful and still be cheaper if equipped the same as the Ford. Who the hell wants to hear a V-6 when you punch the gas?
personally if im buying a 75k suv i dint wanna hear shit when i punch it its slow anyway whats the sound gonna do get people to look at how loud i am and how slow im going. and tgat goes for most trucks their not racecars. quiet/comfort/practicality thats what its about.
Great looking SUVs! I've always owned an Expedition...so no change. I would award additional points to the Expedition for its folding running boards, and better MPG. I know the difference in MPG is miniscule, but a 10th of a difference can add up fast while driving long distances. However, the smaller gas tank on the Expedition is a bit disappointing. Furthermore, not many vehicles still use the legacy steering column gear selector. Old school is cool, but modern is better. Furthermore, why does the Chevy still have a key hole in the door handle when it has a keyless fob and push button start? Ford Expedition won this battle hands down.
Chevy had the running boards too. He just didn’t show them. And the ford had a key hole as well. All cars are required to have them in case the remote drops working
It's all going to come down to personal preference. They both are nice vehicles but for me, the better mileage range and the overhead rear entertainment system sold me on the Tahoe.
Great comparisons but I wish they would have done a regular expedition not the max. would have made the price and turn radius more comparable but other than that its great
Great review except for the fact that you did not compare comparable wheelbases. It would have been better had you compared storage space as a percentage of the overall wheelbase. As far as awarding 1 point for the twin turbo Ford, that's more stress on the engine and drive-train which equates to more repairs and higher cost to operate. Personally, while you get a few more horses from the Ford, that performance comes at a definite cost. I would have deducted at least 3 points for that.
The EcoBoost engine is designed and built from ground up to handle the increased stresses and pressures of forced induction. Virtually every semi running on the highways have turbos. Engineering has come a long way since turbos gained a reputation for failure. There are many Turbocharged engines out there with >200,000 miles and running strong.
evilmountainlion612 they switched to a V6 because its lighter and more efficient. Also, Ford wanted their EcoBoost engines to be available on every vehicle they make.
Carroll OnStar isn't free. Ford has 911 Assist which is free & FordPass that you can download on your smart phone and remote start your vehicle from anywhere in the country and locate you vehicle anywhere in the country for free. Ford is just way ahead of the game. GM needs an update

"it’s still old and I don’t think there are too many people tuning their full size truck based suvs for max acceleration anyway"
You haven't been exploring TH-cam that much. You should look up Modded Sierras and Silverados (where the Tahoe is based from the same platform). It can be done.Better yet people have cammed a truck before. Over time, people will be modding their SUVs in no time since they are more focused on family but don't want to give up their performance car DNA.

"Most reliable?! No. If you want most reliable go to Honda or Toyota; they’ve got ford and Chevy beat."
Ok, When I mean reliable, I was doing a comparison between the Ford Ecoboost vs the LS small block.
Love gm to death but Ford takes this
yeah I know ford offers more tech, but in reality GM will far outlive the ford...
D Tay I think they should compare them again when the new Tahoes come out in about a year
Nah, they will last on average the same...
Alex Stelling Chevy just sucks cock. Those crappy cars just always break down
Don't understand why people need backup camera if you know how to drive you wouldn't need them all this technology in these cars are making people worst drivers they have no type of connection with their vehicles learn to drive with without all of this stuff.
The Anchovies I understand that but still.... people have all this tech and still can't park with the cameras and sensors. I see it everyday. Smh
Derick Martin Some people are just assholes. You’ll see that with every car.
The Anchovies alot are
Big facts. Real drivers don't need cameras.
Excellent. Excellent comparison!!! I have a Tahoe now and am really considering the Expedition after test driving it a few days ago. It was AMAZING. I felt like MONEY in it!
Thanks! Good luck deciding!
I have very little hope considering the New Sierra and Silverado are huge let downs.
You were right! The 21 and up tahoes! The touchscreen is huge, the suspension is tight, doesn’t feel top heavy and no longer a shifter, it’s buttons!
Love the split screen comparison
In my eyes, Tahoe wins because a straight V8 engine, don't have to deal with turbo failure, rattles, carbon build up ETC...
The 5.3 and 6.2 Ecotec engines were all new engines in 2014 and they have direct injection only, not ported and direct which is the new trend. These engines are having huge problems with valve carboning.
Jean Najem The new ebs have direct and port injection, so no more carbon buildup. Basically all of the issues have been worked out with new ebs.
Expedition 👌🏿
wont last as long the Tahoe my friend. There are more tahoes from the 90's on the streets still running than there are expeditions.
There are plenty of fords still running from the 90's
Any car will be reliable if you take care of it.
Bryan Messer big facs
Till this day I'm still driving my 2000 5.4L V8 Expedition & I haven't had any sort of problems other than regular maintenance & a few upgrades like LED instead of regular bulbs, audio upgrades etc. Nothing serious. This car is very well taken care of. From bottom to top, inside & outside! I can say that I am a very proud Ford expedition owner.
No matter where I go, I'm always getting great complements from people when they ride in my Ford.
@@DJCARBON2012 Ford expedition from the 90s are good too they last for a long time
That Expedition killed it in every aspect from the design, interior, comfort, engine, etc. Especially over its previous model. Well dont Ford!
Andrew Cunnison, this is just your opinion and taste. I’d say the exact same thing but about the Tahoe. It was a strong attempt at copying the Tahoe but they did it in ugly Ford style
Actually on the 2019 Ford Expedition has a heads up display now
I'm still taking the tahoe
Im still takeing the expitsion
Cool Squad what the fuck is that
Dubby Jr just so you know he missed alot of things in the expedition, suck as massaging front seats, a second glove box, the fact that the expeditions entertainment systems also has HDMI inputs but they are for the individual screens so there are 2, push button folding 2nd row seats from the 2nd row to get into the 3rd with a grab handle, also that there is a lip in the sill plate for the hatch so if you park on a hill your groceries or whatever don't roll out, and if you get the cargo package you can lift up a secondary floor panel in the cargo area and turn it into a shelf. Still want that Tahoe?
Dubby Jr also with the easy enrty systems for these trucks, the expedition has an actual sensor in the door handle so you can just pull it open when it's locked with the key in your pocket or whatever, the Tahoe had a toggle lock/unlock button that you have to push every time rather than just tapping the handle to lock and pulling to unlock.
jonathan nabors YES I been know all that u typed I'm still going with an Tahoe
What a fantastic comparison!!!! Split screen makes a difference! Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much Leo!
My wife and I rented an Exhibition Max for 4 days and it's nothing but the truth. Huge but amazingly easy to drive.
I like Gm vehicles but I have to take my hat off for Ford. That Expedition is REALLY nice and I think the Lincoln Navigator is a far better vehicle than the Cadillac Escalade.
MelsonWithTrucking Very true! The Expedition Platinum beats the Escalade as well. Very outdated and sad!
I agree
Its the independent rear suspension and the highly engineered chassis that the Expedition possesses allowing it to have good performance and handling.
One of the best comparisons I've ever seen on any car period. But you didn't talk about the roof racks
These $75,000 suvs are just not worth the money. I'm sorry, but adding a little more leather and sensors doesn't Constitute a $30,000 increase in price from previous years. Furthermore, if you need a 360° camera to park any vehicle. You shouldn't own one. 😂
Just say you can't afford it...be Honest
LOL you got the poor man’s LS tahoe 😂
Had a 2008 Tahoe but my lil kids got too big and we traded for a 2010 expedition which had more leg room. the Ford cargo space was also better than the Chevy. The Tahoe was a better drive than my expedition. Would go back to a Tahoe when my kids leave the nest
THE BEST COMPARATION THANKS FORD IS GO EXPEDITION THE BEST..FOREVER.
Tahoe is the best
@@andym1223 its really not the Tahoe is overly dated
@@andym1223 It was the best. Not anymore though!
Well now the Ford is outdated compared to the new Tahoe
What the security systems in both?
I drove both was a tough decision but I ended up buying the tahoe premier and I'm not disappointed I'm very happy with it and imo it looks way better than the Ford by a long shot and I like the suspension better the magnetic ride control it handles like a sports car
Which luxurious $80,000 SUV do you prefer?? As always, PLEASE comment below, LIKE and SUBSCRIBE and turn on the notification bell!!! We appreciate ya watching!
You are so on point my friend the ford is been a better suv for a long time
GM tends to offer better packaging and their powertrains have a track record of being reliable, cheap to maintain, and delivering better than advertised fuel economy
I prefer the tahoe, but all i know is that both are much better than crossovers.
I hate crossovers so much
At the end of the day, you buy the one that suits you!
the engines maybe similar in performance and mpgs at sea level but all that changes when you start driving them in elevated regions where fords, twin turbo 3.5l, v6 starts to really come into play over the non turbo, 5.3 v8, gm engine.
SteelCity1981 then put on some turbos on the 5.3 and release all the bald eagles
Similar in performance until you drive both and feel the gigantic difference, the 5.3 feels sluggish at best
As a 2017 Tahoe owner, I gotta go with Chevy mine is also the premier edition.
Shouldn't it be Suburban vs Expedition? And Tahoe vs Bronco?
What?
EXPEDITION GANG!
The Chevy has a better looking interior, but it seems Ford copied off of Chevy too much
Pure Life
Nice interior ok... but full of rattles and drives like shit compared to expedition with that IRS which makes a world of a difference while car has load and when dealing with bumpy roads, thr GMs trio are all over the place, while the Ford stays calm composed and quiet inside,
Sorry GM fan, its no use Ford has muscled the better SUV
jandj Godwin for now
Pure Life yes that Interior is quite good but the expedition has much better comfort especially when it comes to driving, etc.
I would get a Denali.... It just looks better
Khalid Alshammary sane. I love the new 2018 DENALI grille
I would just get the Escalade or the Navigator. 😉😎
It will haul you even without the pedal flattened
I had a zach Morris cell phone and it was big and heavy. Honestly the 07 expedition is nothing like today’s version. Drive them side by side and you will find the 5.3 is a dog. The ecoboost has serious power. My wife has an expedition and test drove the Tahoe because she likes the looks of the Tahoe better (her expy is a 2015) and the first thing she noticed was how slow the Tahoe is
Expedition looks better and is better
And the engine is more powerful that matters most
Tows more
A new more room for your head and leg
More cargo storage
Man. Your crazy
the tahoe gets 2 points for a 3% price difference but the expedition doesn’t get any for a 5% fuel economy difference? what 😂
Lets face it guys the ford expeditión is better
I’ve owned both in the last 4 months, and rest assured, the Ford is WAY better in every way. My kids absolutely love it, and the ride quality, powertrain, and technology are absolutely better than that of the Tahoe...
You also miss that the Ford Expedition has a optional tilt and intrusion sensor not like on the thaoe wich is only have a tilt sensor and a rear glass sensor and aswell mosion inior sensor but the ford has a tilt sensor a glass sensor and also a intoir sensor and a locking glove box and center console when the alarm is actuvaded
Sorry but the back of the Tahoe and suburban look wAyyy batter than the expedition
Ford's reliability is much better. Do your homework. The 5.3 is not a good engine. Valve train is problematic
Puff the Magic Dragon A rental lol rental cars get abused a lot and you don’t know it if it was your personal cars I’ll believe you but I’ll say the same thing about a Chevy they last a long time
Gmony907 Agreed, at the end of the day, both ford and gm are making great cars now. My one experience doesn't speak for everyone.
280k on my Ford..... no problems other than an Alternator so I can not complain at all!
My XR was $755 for a phone and while I was on a spending spree I was going for a expedition but when I got the price tag of $76,573 I was like see ya and stocked with my 2001 impala which I would like to say is a good cheap car
I like the Tahoe/Suburban better. But I wish police and secret service would use the Expedition police/service model more.
Its always suburbans in secret service for an example, such as the president.
I’m still so torn on which one to get. I’ve watched this and other videos several times. Both have their pros and cons.
Expedition-
Panoramic sun roof
Black interior is easier to find
Suspension seems stronger
Shifter knob is nicer
Key code
Chevy
Heads up display
V8! No cam phasers issue
Looks way better
The touchscreens, shifter buttons ans suspension on the new ones (21 and up) are just perfect but the price!!
Car Confections, great comparison! I'm curious about what GM will do for the next generation of their full size SUV trio.
@dodgeguy612 I guessing it will borrow heavily from the new Silverado in looks and parts. Maybe they'll decide to stick that amazing straight 6 duramax in their too
Both Companies Should Increase The Life Of The Engines Not The Prices
GM is known for having long lasting powertrains
I'm a die-hard Chevy man but , I have to admit . The v6 engine the Ford offers and the little known flaw the Tahoe and suburban has , being the footrest block for the left leg , not allowing for full leg extension is the deal breaker for me . I'm a big guy , and I need the leg room .
The Ford just has a more comfy ride because it doesn't have that left foot block rest uneven with end of the driver side floor panel
I don't understand why Chevy does this .
Unfair comparison. This Expedition came out a few weeks ago and this Tahoe came out a few years ago.
@@mattX5 year means nothing, its generation that does. This Tahoe came out with the 2014-2018 Silverado, this expedition comes out with the 2015-current f150
@@mattX5 when the next Tahoe comes out will be the comparable generation with this expedition
yeah your right
$80,000 is INSANE for a vehicle... I bought a top of the line Tahoe LTZ in 2009 for $50K
Inflation!
My mom has a new expedition and she used to have a Tahoe before and we like the expedition more
I've not watch the entire vidieo yet. I must say I am not a Chevy fan. But hands down, I would buy a Tahoe over a six banger Ford Expedition. Chevy wins hands down.
Donald Buzbee
Ok..you are at a loss, well done.
Not if you get a Tahoe with the 6.2L and 10 Speed for a cheaper price if equipped the same.
Edwin Curry exactly. Lmao there is a reason the Chevy came with 2 years comp maintenance.
jcfms but the thing is the Chevy can't be equipped the same because the expedition comes standard with things the Tahoe doesn't even offer
Ahhh you’re one of those people....
That was so unbelievable helpful. Having a hard time choosing between the Yukon SLT and the new Ford Expedition FX4...... Ford here i come. Great video. Thanks
Awesome! Glad to to hear it was helpful for you! Make sure, if you haven't already, to subscribe which is helpful to us! 😀
The Tahoe will still sell more
Yup
IMO, the Expedition. So advanced and better looking exterior and interior. Though, the Tahoe would be my second choice.
D.J.'s Car Reviews In person the exterior of the Navigator and Expedition is ugly compared to the Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade but in Ford's defense I like their interior better.
I'm not a fan of the taillight design on the expedition
Tahoe is still getting all of my money.
All of your money because its always getting fixed?
so i feel like the expedition is the overall better vehicle but i like how the tahoe looks so much more. i'd probably buy the tahoe.
I'd choose the Expedition 1OO%
I love that chime that comes on when u turn on the expedition. The chevy chime seems so basic
Same the ford chims are the best its better then the chevy and better the the fca chims
Who cares
@@andym1223 We do because it gives the vehicle a fancy and special feel everytime you start it up!
You think the chevy chime is so basic
Then listen to the 2021 suburban chime and then you'll say NOPEEEEE!!!
Excellent Video, I think that the Tahoe look better in the Outside, but I think it's a best buy on the Ford Expedition.
Thank you.
What people brag about in the Exp. actually make it dangerous. And that’s the independent rear suspension. I’m an Exp. owner that had Burb and Tahoe in the past and ready to go back.
“Secret weapon” that everyone knows about at this point
When GM redesigns the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade, they will be so good. I know it already.
DC exactly
Ford is just now catching up but didn't blow the 4 year old Tahoe out of the water. I would still get the Tahoe RST over this with the 6.2L 10 Speed and it'll be more powerful and still be cheaper if equipped the same as the Ford. Who the hell wants to hear a V-6 when you punch the gas?
jcfms excatly
personally if im buying a 75k suv i dint wanna hear shit when i punch it its slow anyway whats the sound gonna do get people to look at how loud i am and how slow im going. and tgat goes for most trucks their not racecars. quiet/comfort/practicality thats what its about.
Another great review.
Thanks! 🙂
Expedition hands down!!!💯🙌🏿 Ford4ever!!
The subrauan doesn’t look cheap the expedition does and the interior of the Chevy looks good fords look cheap
Good one boys, keep em up!!!!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
Biggest problem with the Tahoe: The joke of a third row seat. For little kids only. I had to ride back there once, VERY uncomfortable.
rbmcobra honestly its better to ride in the back of a suburban
Get the Suburban then. I’m 6’1” and I fit in the third back seat just fine
The problem is the rear floor is too high, Tahoe or suburban. No independent rear suspension! They both cause your knees to be in you chest .
rbmcobra chest really lol i don’t know what type of suburban you been in
The 3rd row in the 18 isnt any better, no leg room at all. Rear independent suspension goes a long way for ford!
Definitely the Expedition
DRAKKENFIRE22 Keep the key. It’s a tried and true method to get into your car.
It's all going to come down to personal preference. They both are nice vehicles but for me, the better mileage range and the overhead rear entertainment system sold me on the Tahoe.
Best comparison ever! Great Job!
Thank you so much! We appreciate that!
Great comparisons but I wish they would have done a regular expedition not the max. would have made the price and turn radius more comparable but other than that its great
Thanks! Just wanted to let you know that all the numbers cited in the video are indeed for the regular sized Expedition, for fairness sake.
Gotcha! I saw that with the cargo but I wasn't sure on the comparisons as far as turn radius, price ect... but thanks for clarifying!
But the seating on 3rd row seat is way different on shorter wheelbase Expedition. One you have compares to Suburban and not Tahoe.
I think the young guy's analytics were not as thorough as they could have been.
❤ Chevy Tahoe ❤
Here is a good tip. If you’re buying a Tahoe get a suburban and same for the expedition
FORD WITH THE WIN!!! TAKE THAT FORD HATERS!!!
Asphalt8ficionado lmao bring the suburban out you will think twice
evilmountainlion612 they switched to a V6 because its lighter and more efficient. Also, Ford wanted their EcoBoost engines to be available on every vehicle they make.
I do agree though that they should put the 5.0L in the Expedition.

Carroll OnStar isn't free. Ford has 911 Assist which is free & FordPass that you can download on your smart phone and remote start your vehicle from anywhere in the country and locate you vehicle anywhere in the country for free. Ford is just way ahead of the game. GM needs an update
It's no where close to GM's OnStar technology used in all their vehicles. I never said it was free.. you pay for the level of service you want or need...
