Pompadour Pink may be a reference to Madame de Pompadour. She was in the court of King Louis XV at Versailles. There are paintings of her wearing rich pink ruffled garments. Tesla Coil is my favorite sheening ink, and I’ve never had it smear once it’s dried.

I own Tesla Coil and Cold Steel, love them both so much. Tesla Coil, I call it the Sheen Queen.. sheens in almost every paper, with every nib. Cold Steele is one of the greatest blue blacks, which I am obsessed with.. also Oxford Blue from Diamine.
I LOVE the inks by color, but I’d watch inks by brand too.. your choice. Great series.

I continue to look through your ink exploration videos as I think of colors I am searching for. I appreciate that you describe the colors and ink characteristics that can't be seen visually through digital media. I also tend to use specific brands... so yes. Yes to both types of videos but maybe the brand one first. I am currently ordering inks like a crazy person & yesterday it was Van Dieman's turn. I love recognising colours from your vids - doing them by brand would be very helpful. But I love the colour groups.

The Taccia Ukiyo-e inks are some of my favorites because of the packaging alone. I would love to see another season of ink explorations but by brand! It would definitely be nice to see what type of variety a brand offers. 🙂

I really like both kinds of videos.
The video I've gone back to the most has been your Iroshizuku one as it's the brand I've felt most drawn to. Your Sailor ones have been great too. I'd love to see Sailor Ink Studios and a Robert Oster ones for example.
But I also really like your color ones and I think these are the ones that are kind of like your bread and butter videos that will be most helpful to a lot of people who are choosing between inks when buying.
Another type of video that might also be helpful is newly released inks - I could see it being really useful for you to swatch some of the new release inks that have been released in January of 2024 for example (or maybe Q1).
So basically - yes I want more and more and more of whatever ink videos you do.

Yes to both questions ! It’s been 2 weeks and can’t wait to get my BPC inks, I ordered: Armadillo, Eroded Bronze, Burlap, Saltmarsh, Ploughman's Pebble, Chrysan Themum, and Molten Tin... I am trying to get my fix my with my current obsession of having a collection of muted colored FP inks...
I would love to see the brands together, I vote for Colorverse, because I love my telescopes, astronomy, and yes I love astrology too; so seeing Colorverse inks all together in collections would be so great...
There are so many inks to buy and I love the fact that I can see many of them swatched without buying them. I thank you for that.
I do love these ink swatching videos! I have watched the entire playlist over and over so many times 🥴that now I am going through your playlist making a list of inks I want to try... I will try to stick to samples from now on... I usually buy full bottles of colors I love... So far, I’ve been lucky with many of my choices... I’ve only wasted my money a couple of times, but it seems I buy the same colors over and over, just a different shade...
Since I started watching your videos, (I’m probably one of your first subscribers❣(I watched when you used the undated SICP); I have left my “I’m only going to buy waterproof FP inks” thinking and have tried to choose some FP inks that I love seeing others use. Having you compare the colors in the same color schemes also helps me choose what color I like best and seeing the properties the inks have helps me make better choices for my purchases...
I do have one suggestion: All the planners & notebooks I have now are made from TRP (Sansen) now, it may be beneficial to see the inks on the new paper since the old and best TRP is gone.... and we have to suffer with Sansen TRP... I miss the original TRP 😪 I think the inks dry too fast in the new TRP and you don’t see the ink properties as well as you did in the older paper...

Hi Danielle! I’m so glad you enjoyed the inks. (Can you tell I like blues, dusty pinks, and sheen?😂) I wrote the full name of each ink that was on the BPC bottle - so I’m not sure why they don’t match the web site🤷♀️. I love listening to your take on these inks. Thanks for letting me share them!

The pompadour pink is beautiful!! That is a color I am so drawn to. Ohhh I can make cold steel once my Atominks arrive. Id be interested in seeing a side by side of the Alleghany River Twilight with regular Twilight. They seem to be the same but who knows. What a beautiful set of inks. So wonderful to get happy mail like that.
I will love all the ink videos. I'm sorta leaning towards second season but would love to see brands on one page too. (yes I am no help)
Haha thank you Priscilla! I checked and it seems the twilight inks are the same! My guess is there was a collection they came out with and had the smaller name with it. Either way I think they are gorgeous. I appreciate your input! I think the majority would prefer both types of videos 😊.

Is the color of the Cobalt Blue more purple than blue?

Yay, thank you! The Cobalt Blue is more true blue to me, I don't see any purple. I have a video on Bright Blue inks that could compare to the Tesla Coil's base blue if you're interested in more blue inks. I also have a video on Dark Pink inks or even Magenta if you prefer those colors as well :)

Any suggestions on shading medium to dark gray inks with BPC
I am still really new to the BPC brand, and I haven't tried a dark grey from them yet, but the Abandoned Shipyard, Lunar Dust, and Smokebox all look to be dark grey with shading. I hope to get some more BPC inks soon and I will review them then!

yes, ink exploration is good, but I would prefer brand exploration first, since many of us don't know all of the brand available.

I need to know how you store your sample because you seem to have a lot. I still only have a few but I might add more samples this year so storage would be a problem eventually lol
I use a test tube rack! (Aff link) amzn.to/42zVT2z I find these to be the best, they hold 50 samples :)
I have Allegheny River Twilight and it’s that plum/pink/wine color. I have another one called Pop Art Purple. When I got the bottle it said “Andy Warhol” in small lettering. And “Pop Art Purple” in larger letters. So I wonder if “Allegheny River” is a parent name of sorts? No idea, just a guess. I do know it’s a river in Pennsylvania and a lot of things in that area (and western New York) are named after it. I guess we could email the owners and ask, but not sure we would get an answer. I begged them to remake Rodman’s Gunpowder Tea, no such luck. 🤷🏻♀️😅

I’m getting a bit confused on your color theory, sorry! I was taught that cool blue is a blue that leans to yellow. (Such as a teal). And warm blues lean to red.(example blue/purple) (Red = hottest color). Even though this is so confusing because blue itself is considered cool, Yellow is cooler than Red. So the blue leaning towards red is the warmer blue. It took me a long time for it to make any sense, AND I had to re-type the entire previous sentence because I got myself all messed up... 😍. Fun fun!
Thank you so much!! I'm so sorry to confuse you on color theory. I try to describe based on what I am seeing, so I do trip myself up sometimes haha. If an ink is "warmer" (yellow, orange, red) I usually call it a warmer color. If an ink is "cooler" (green, blue purple) I call it cooler. It gets tough when you're in a primary color! I would say my camera does a fairly good job of showing what the true colors are. Purples are the only color it has trouble with (I find this very interesting).
