I’m totally with you on these colours. I’m amazed that you seem to have such a similar love for the more dusty, subtle and rich shades rather than bright and brash. All these inks are gorgeous and now on my wish list. Thank you!

I love watching ink swatching videos! I am very new to fountain pens and have only purchased two inks so far. I plan on making a ink sample purchase soon so I watch videos like this with passion and pen handy to take notes 🙂. Have you ever done a flip through of your ink swatch journal? If not I would love to see it.
I have not done a flip through yet - I am saving that for the end of the year!
I would love to know how you film your videos! What camera do you use, and stand to get it directly overhead? Do you use a ring light and microphone? We'd love a short video filming your set-up and equipment you use!

Lol, happy to take the blame! Teranishi Opera Rose is so supremely lovely, one of my top 5 faves!
I love muted dusky colors with shading. I have a few colors with shimmer but shading is my all time favorite. Right now I have a ton of brown, orange, yellow, greens and red colors. Lol my favorite color is purple. 🤦🏻♀️I have some dusky purple and pinks.
Maybe you or one of your subscribers can help. I bought J. Herbin Rouille D'ancre because you rave about it, and when I swatched it and tested it out with the Sailor Hocoro dip pen, I totally understood why you love it so much! Then I inked a Pilot 78g+ EF and then Platinum Plaisir EF with it, but both were so light and didn't seem to come out of the nib very well. So I inked a M nib pen and again couldn't replicate what I get with the Hocoro. Any tips? Btw your swatch videos are so satisfying!
Hmm, I am not sure! Have you checked the feed of all of those pens? Or ran brass shins through the tines of the nib?
Quite a few people seem to prefer the darker red inks but my favorite is Monteverde Valentine Red. So bright and cheerful! ♥️🙂

I love the rainbow idea! I'm not a huge brown ink person, but the cocoa shimmer is catching my eye. 😅
It is a good one! Understated but makes brown less boring!

Lovely selection :) I totally agree with you on how this tag makes us look through all the inks we have, and revisit the love we had for other colors that have been pushed to the side whilst we go gaga over our latest obsession :) I also had Amazing Amethyst and Cocoa Shimmer in my rainbows - Diamine for the win!
Such a great exercise in re-examining our whole ink collection! And look at inks we haven’t used in ages!

I use green ink a lot and I have the Rohrer and Klingner Alt Goldgrun and love it !! However, I was really surprised by the Noodler's Army Green which is also a lovely green

I love this idea. I am using my green inks because the color for June in the Hobonichi Cousin is green and I have planned three inks for the month’s pages.
I never thought of that! Which greens are you using?
@@KarynaLovesToPlan Sailor Tokiwa Matsu, Ferris Wheel Press Central Park Greens and Diamine Evergreen. I use one ink for the “calendar” column and alternate between the other two based on subject matter. I use my HC as a work “diary” so I often have notes from one or two meetings per day in my dailies and the different colors breaks up the sections/topics. If you wanted more contrast, a dark blue-black or a soft blue might make the pages seem more floral. I may add Diamine Green-Black in as a contrast color if I think the greens are too similar in tone and temperature. Meanwhile, I already have my teals lined up for July! 😁
Now I must have Diamine cocoa shimmer. 🤩 My current fav is still Colorverse Tex Mex.
Not one I have tried but I haven’t tried a ton of browns!
Beautiful! Love the look of maple. How does it write? Looks like it would be dark enough- even in the lighter parts of it.
So far it would be darker. But I will have it as part of my 30inks30days so stay tuned!

Beautiful color choices. I may have to buy a few new inks. Your Dusty Pink just doesnt seem to fit its category. But everyone as you said interprets color differently. Some really stunning choices.
Love the way you swatch. Like the idea of using a sample bottle to make circles, it really shows the ink characteristics well. I think I may borrow your idea. Makes a neater looking sample than I've managed
You are right about Opera Rose! The more I compare it to other pinks, it feels like it is in a category all its own!

@@KarynaLovesToPlan A dusty pink you might want to look at is Robert Oster Rose Gold Antiqua. I'm not an orange person much either but Diamine Ancient Copper is always in my Diplomat Aero in a Burnt Orange. Swatched it looks lighter but in a fine point it appears much deeper. Montoverde Giraffe is also nice.

Haha I know! I went with a lot of the bottles I had versus samples - and now that I think about it, Madam Mulberry was a lovely gray and Storied Blue wasn’t there because I no longer have it! 😢
