Windows uses all processors by default, so changing that setting in msconfig isn't doing anything. It's there for debugging purposes if you need to limit the number of processors for any reason. The timeout option is simply there to allow you time to manually choose which OS you want to boot if you have more than one OS installed. You could have instead suggested things such as uninstalling unwanted apps, disabling apps from starting automatically, ensuring the OS and drivers are up to date, defragmenting the HDD or optimising the SSD, and more. Windows 11 does have a fair bit of bloat so you want to try and minimise that as much as possible. For gaming, I would recommend overclocking and checking CPU/GPU temps to make sure there is no thermal throttling.

I don’t know what setting that is but I know it is from this video. Before I did this my gaming FPS was like 200+ but now I am at 5 FPS only. But I calmed down because I created a restore point already. And I restored my PC but that did not fix the FPS at all. So what I had to do was reset my PC. I am not asking anyone to not follow this video. Because of this video, it sped up my PC a lot, I never got a blue screen ever again after I followed this video. The only thing that this slowed down on my PC was the gaming. But still it sped up my PC a lot. Thank you Fifty50, but next time you should point at a specific setting next time so that this does not happen to anyone else.
Thank you bro I've been stuck on 30 - 45 fps on games now I got 120

Fantastic video. Straight to the point no fluff. Thank you so much

ok where is your better vid?
@@estllearderzfanclub8346
Thank you so much for the video I have a lower end PC with a 4 core proccesor and it was only using 1 and all the other suggestions have made tarkov playable for me! Especially your high performance and sysmain suggestion has made it so I don't disconnect from lobbies immediately! Thank you very much
No frame drops or anything ?
I accidentally put my timeout to 20 seconds I think it was 0 and every time I started my pc it said what would you like to choose windows 10 vol 3 or windows 10 vol 3 so umm I don't recommend changing that
Thanks! I noticed improved pc speed, increase of fps (for about 20-30fps) in each game i play, workload is much much faster. Thank you again!
Dude thanks! I have let too much time elapse since I have built a computer and had working knowledge of software use, so now I am like one of those parents who asks what a FPS is, or how to make my icons bigger. Very useful video
such a great video man, watching this in 2024 after upgrading pc ant losing fps after windows restart but with all of these settings everything runing crazy smooth, keep it up!
what's ur system specification btw?
Honestly, a great video! Short and is explained very well. My fps in Fortnite went from averaging 120 to 400, my monitor cant even go that high. :D
I just have to thank you man, my gaming turbine calmed down after the 3rd step and I'm managing to play in a way that I wouldn't have dreamed of before💜💜💜
high key love the last tip, I do fresh install at least every two years. It's a lot, but whenever I do it, my system is soooo swift.
I used some of the things In this video and want to thank you man feels like my pc is running alot better well gaming thank you
You earned my sub, I've been raging because I spent way too much on an alienware laptop and cod was constantly laggy af! It runs flawlessly now, you're the best
This Really helped so much, Thank You
I’m so saving this for later for my next pc
Why he didn't mention to just download a better GPU and a bit more RAM could also not hurt?
I know right more ram is just a click away
You can download more ram?
@@lonleybeer no obviously you can't download more ram
Thank you so much. I know I’ve been pushing the limit on my current gaming laptop (7+ years 🤓) but these tips have helped a lot
"pushing the limits" 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@City1Tiger I know the stereotypes when it comes to gaming laptops. The laptop worked really well for the games at the time of its release. I don’t really have the time or the space for a decent gaming rig. It works well for me. Or, it used to.
For the first step where we go to storage in settings when i click remove temporary files one of the temporary options is "downloads" an di have 246gb of downloads and it would be really good to get 246 gb free of space but idk if that affects my important downlads because 246 seems like a lot
Then go through your downloads and manually delete stuff you don't need. Once your done, clear your recycle bin again.
DELETING TEMP FILES HAS NO EFFECT only delete it if your storage is short since it improves boot times, don't believe youtube tweaker wannabe's they don't research properly. Most of the temp files are useless but if they share the same name as the exe itself then leave it except you need that extra storage for something and it would only improve your fps if you're really short on storage and your drive is bottlenecking your game's engine
@@normalguylmao It certainly would not do anything for gaming fps. I could see it possible improving load times of applications that have to read some of that data but that's it.
title said 2023 but the video was a year ago
ps: love your vid it rly helped
thank you! best thing I've ever done to my laptop - the number of processors and the timeout options have given obvious improvements! keep it up! much love peace +1sub
BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR DOWNLOAD FOLDERS IF YOU DO WHAT IS STATED BETWEEN 2:25 - 3:20 THOSE ITEMS IN THE DOWNLOAD FOLDER WILL BE DELETED AND YOU WILL NOT BEABLE TO GET THEM BACK. THEY WILL NOT GO TO THE RECYCLE BIN. TRUST ME IVE TRIED YOURE WELCOME.
This was pretty helpful good vid also are you planning on making an updated attachments video since theres a lot more sights available for each gun?
I actually recommend going just below 100% CPU power usage. I use 98%, it only has a minimal performance dip but the big difference in CPU temperature is big. You'll be running way cooler and have good performance
how do u change how much usage u use ?
I did almost everything in this video and I got a huge FPS boost! My games run close to 60fps now! Before it was capped at 8-9 fps but now I can finally play my games at a good frame rate! Thank you!!!!!
I did everything and now my PC wont boot! Also doesn’t work when I try to go back to my restore like he said…
@@r0shaun you're talking to a bot

Idk how, but you made my boot go from like 10 mins to only 1, made minecraft run at an average of 80fps with no fps drops (I got 20 fps average and a lot of fps drops before). I subbed
Hey mate, i’d just love to say thanks so much for this. I was getting 30-35 fps before this video and now i’m getting 100-120. Earned yourself a sub
On what game
Lol wtf this doesn't boost fps like that it's not a gpu upgrade
@@malazan6004I don’t think you exactly know how FPS work. If your PC is genuinely trashed by useless files and shit it won’t reach the same FPS as it would being brand new. Cleaning up your PC files makes a very big difference in FPS.
@@ctje004fps and hz are the same? If my monitor is 144hz or 165hz will i get more fps?
The funny thing is my pc isn’t even bad, it’s like a mid teir pc but I did this anyway just because I used to have a laptop and am used to it, now I am getting even more fps. Best tutorial. also factory reset is a good option if you have many issues

You really don't have to meddle with your boot settings in msconfig. It's good as it is. Windows already uses all your cores during boot. There's no benefit with messing with it.
bro my system configuration timeout is on 0 seconds are you joking? hahaha never had a problem
Me too, it's at zero.
Before my pc was able to cook bacon now it can only warm pizza rolls so that’s progress
bro u fucked up my pc thank god i had a restore point
LMAO! It worked for me.

@@choupapi6894 just go to Windows settings recovery reinstall Windows keep files
I would really NOT recommend setting your min processor state to 100%, unless you really want to make it die faster and pay higher energy bills for no reason
Idle temps would be slightly higher, around 10 degrees celcius in my case, certainly not enough to affect the life of the CPU. Power usage increase is minor. But your right it is kinda pointless. I do it due to my overclock settings.
do not do this, I have to do a complete reset to fix the damage caused by this
Is amazing My work i was having gta 5 slowly and graphics issues but now it works smoothly
this video really helped me bro tysm
Happy for u bro enjoy ur gaming💪💪
same
7 minutes even after creating a restore it doesn't fix the issue if it goes bad so I recommend keeping at 30 and not changing completely avoiding this will save you a headache of trying everything to get rid of the bluescreen lol
yeah thanks bro, i've kept it on 30 for a while now and i never started to change it. i'll try being safe in the settings, thanks for warning me.
wish i saw this earlier
@@SasukeUchiha-mu2yr sorry man I thought I'd put my input here in guessing you've run into the same issue as me the only fix I could get after this was a fresh os
