    In Advanced Boot Options those settings won't make any difference UNLESS you set number of processors to lower than max. Number of processors being checked isn't meant to increase your Cores/Threads during boot... it's meant to LIMIT it. If you leave it unchecked Windows will use the default setting for your configuration(All Cores Are Used By Default). Changing this setting will change absolutely nothing compared to default if you set it to max. Setting it any lower than Maximum will just be setting it to LOWER than default. Timeout is how long the computer displays the option for you to choose which OS you want to boot into. If you aren't dual-booting(Have a disk or disks with more than one detected OS installed) this option will not be display anyways.

    Some of what you said you dont know what your talking about
    1. In advanced boot options you dont wanna maximize usage of all cores, this is designed to limit how many cores are used for the boot process
    2. Changing the boot timeout in MSConfig just changes the amount of time while booting windows you can interrupt, e.g going to safe mode etc
    3. Changing the mouse accuracy flag in mouse settings just disables mouse acceleration, would get better performance changing the polling rate
    4. Gaming mode pushes all apps running into 1/4 cores, this wont hurt any PC at all unless your game is dependent on background processes to ru smoothly

  • @LimitedEditi0n
    @LimitedEditi0n ปีที่แล้ว +6

    6:56 , The Timeout has nothing to do with a SINGLE boot time, this setting can be changed only if you have more than 1 Operating System installed, the number of seconds is the time your Boot options will show up on screen until it boots the default one. Basically, except if you are a developer, you have nothing to change on the MSCONFIG panel.

    Windows uses all processors by default, so changing that setting in msconfig isn't doing anything. It's there for debugging purposes if you need to limit the number of processors for any reason. The timeout option is simply there to allow you time to manually choose which OS you want to boot if you have more than one OS installed.
    You could have instead suggested things such as uninstalling unwanted apps, disabling apps from starting automatically, ensuring the OS and drivers are up to date, defragmenting the HDD or optimising the SSD, and more. Windows 11 does have a fair bit of bloat so you want to try and minimise that as much as possible. For gaming, I would recommend overclocking and checking CPU/GPU temps to make sure there is no thermal throttling.

    Speed-stepping has improved greatly since the older generation of multicore processors first came out. Forcing a 100% processor state is near pointless and will only result in increased temperatures and electricity usage for almost no benefit. And I agree with the other comments. Messing with the boot options is asking for trouble. They were introduced back in Windows NT in order to help with server configurations. It's not really meant for normal usage.

    • @normalguylmao
      @normalguylmao 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disabling C-States improves performance actually due to the good old non power saving, it does increase temps but you can literally force 4ghz on 1.14V (yes 1.14V if you won the chip lottery) and have about 20-30°c idle and 40-74°c under load or heavy load. People should only mess with the bios if they have knowledge about the bios, it's settings and it's consequences when something goes wrong and how to reset changes (cmos reset or battery reset mostly)

    I don’t know about others, but I think that most of these worked for me. But there is just ONE setting that I did following this video, that gave a VERY BIG problem to my PC. I don’t know what setting that is but I know it is from this video. Before I did this my gaming FPS was like 200+ but now I am at 5 FPS only. But I calmed down because I created a restore point already. And I restored my PC but that did not fix the FPS at all. So what I had to do was reset my PC. I am not asking anyone to not follow this video. Because of this video, it sped up my PC a lot, I never got a blue screen ever again after I followed this video. The only thing that this slowed down on my PC was the gaming. But still it sped up my PC a lot. Thank you Fifty50, but next time you should point at a specific setting next time so that this does not happen to anyone else.

    • @normalguylmao

      DELETING TEMP FILES HAS NO EFFECT only delete it if your storage is short since it improves boot times, don't believe youtube tweaker wannabe's they don't research properly. Most of the temp files are useless but if they share the same name as the exe itself then leave it except you need that extra storage for something and it would only improve your fps if you're really short on storage and your drive is bottlenecking your game's engine

    • @HestnetIT
