It's heartbreaking that no matter whether Powder becomes Jinx or not, she'll still end up losing someone she cares about. It's like the universe doesn't want her to be completely happy.
Powder lost the Ekko we knew, but she still had the Ekko *she* had fallen in love with. They were together from the start. That's why our Ekko asks Powder to kiss him "as if it was the first time." Because for her, they've been kissing for awhile now.
@@nono-yn5uc No. Powder states that Vi died in part b/c of the tip Ekko gave them that led to Jayce's place when Ekko asks how she died. The other part was probably Powder was dropping the crystal, but this time Vi was too close to the blast. They even have a flashback of Powder holding Vi's lifeless body in the destroyed lab as Enforcers arrive on the scene.
That scene with Powder and Ekko dancing is just beautiful, a happy moment he and we needed after the last episode. He's a stronger man than me for being able to give it up.
A saddening thought is not only is Vi dead, so is Jayce since there is no Hextech; remember Jayce was exiled and expelled from the Academy for the hextech explosion, which means he and Viktor never met thus he took his life
I'm pretty sure that Vi's death from Jayce's experiment was the catalyst for many events in the alternate timeline in this episode. Silco forgave Vander, because now not only was a dear friend of theirs gone, but their daughter was gone from the cycle of suffering. He probably took that time to reach out to Vander in his time of need. From that, due to the accident causing the loss of young vi probably led to Jayce's proper arrest or banishment. May have also brought much more of the underground together, and they got a chance to negotiate with Piltover to start bettering the conditions in Zaun.
I found it hilarious how Ekko spends the episode galivanting about with the non-dead/crazy versions of his childhood friends while Jayce was fighting for his life in a hellish post-apocalyptic future.
If you look at the little locket thing it actually has 2 faces, Ekko and Powder :) It also looks like a blue rose, a symbol of unattainable/fleeting/impossible love, as blue roses never occur naturally.
It seems that this episode shines as an origin story for Ekko to be “The Boy Savior” with his time ability and than we got Jayce with his journey being like Viktor. With him being damaged at the leg being broken, till patching up without patching up and the virus entering his system like Viktor gain within living in the Undergrounds. So he clearly understands the feeling of Viktor faced. 😢
10:48 My THEORY is that either Jayce was ALSO killed by the explosion OR when the enforcers arrived they found a child murdered by illegal (Or frowned upon research) and yes imprisoned. Coupled with the likely chance of a member of the councils child (Caitlyn) being either hurt or Killed (We never heard anything about what happened to her either in this episode) and the chances of Hextech ever taking off was effectively Zero.
Jayce's BEST CASE scenario is that he saw his research kill a kid and chose to stop working on it over guilt and switched to researching something else.
I think it's possible that after Vi died, Vander decided to actively look for Silco so that he could make amends, while he still had the chance. And Silco, to his credit, decided to forgive him.
The real question, and Universe where Powder and Ekko are happy or a universe where Vi and Caitlin are happy. By the way, look for the french song lyrics, it's fitting
Here a few things that I loved about this episode 1: when you look at the necklace you can see both of their silhouettes of Powder and Ekko in the flowers 2: The dance scene apparently was filmed in 4 frames per second because he can only go back in four second increments. Its him savoring the moment that they have so he can keep it forever. 3: Powder and Ekko are so much taller and have fuller faces because they aren't malnourished and it made me sobbed when I thought about it For some reason this episode reminded me of Life is Strange and I don't know if it's the vibes or what but I can't put my finger on it.
I mean, there could also be a timeline where Powder dies in the explosion and things could also be peaceful between the two cities, I don't think it's just about Vi's death but the existence of the Hextech (Sorry english is not my first language)
Yeah, pretty much if ANY of them die there then not only does Hextech likely not get invented (that might be because Jayce is imprisoned or banished, he could also die in the explosion, or he could just decide to stop working on it after seeing a child die because of his research) but ALSO Piltover now has a CULPRIT for the robbery and explosion. That means they DON'T send enforcers to turn Zaun upside down looking for the culprit. THAT means that Silco doesn't accelerate his plans with Shimmer. And THAT means that Deckard DOESN'T get pumped full of Shimmer. Which means BENZO doesn't get killed by him. It also means that VANDER doesn't take Vi's place when she tries to give herself up (because even if Vi's the one who lives there's no NEED to give herself up because they aren't looking for scapegoats). Grayson ALSO doesn't get killed by Deckard which means MARCUS doesn't take over her position and DOESN'T wind up taking Silco's bribes to let him keep making Shimmer and smuggling it with ease. Vi didn't need to die there. But SOMEONE did so that Hextech wouldn't be created and so Piltover WASN'T turning Zaun upside down because that caused nearly as much trouble as the Hextech did. A universe where Little Man doesn't tip them off about the job deals with the problem of enforcers flooding Zaun but it leave Jayce free to continue working on Hextech. That means the job HAS to happen, and ONE of the kids NEEDS to die. I can't think of a single event other than that where BOTH of the causes of trouble are corrected.
Yordles don't die don't worry, they just respawn back in bandopolis, but i don't know if this apply to Heimer, he was in a alternate dimension afterall.
This is legit "Remember" from She-Ra, plus a (sympathetic) Myst villain, plus an Outer Wilds-esque banjo song Also Powder's footfalls on the dancefloor exactly match Jinx's intro in S1E4
Warwick's "self" was metal from Viktors "fixing". What killed off the people, got melted and shunted out of warwick as the beastial rage mind took over what little was keft of vander who had not been fully removed into metal. Singed did not poke warwick within that time.
Well perhaps you missed that image of Singed standing where Warwick was with the device in he's hand? It's right after the image of ambessa towering her henchman corpse.
I think you mistyped, it’s 2x7! Thank you for the video, I have mixed feelings regarding Act III, so rewatching it was you and seeing your thoughts is helpful and insightful! Even if you were a bit confused, haha, happens to everyone sometimes
Interesting fact: The framerate of the dance is at 4 frames per second. An obvious nod to Ekko's Z-Drive's 4 second limit. I will never cease to be amazed at the subtlety of this show.
Himerdinger isnt dead because when a yermer idk what his race is called but when they die they come back alive but they like respawn some place else so it was basically leading up to league of legends lore when himerdinger gets revived idk if I got that right since I heard it from multiple people
Don't know how you ended up jumping to the conclusion that this was all happening AFTER Jayce killed Viktor lol. I spent the whole week after Act 2 wondering what on earth happened to Jayce after he got taken by the anomaly for him to come back and kill Viktor, so as soon as it showed him in that post apocalyptic setting I was like oh thank GOD we get to find out
alt powder has all the hextec gems and now knows how to build the time machine. now, will she go back and try to save that timeline's vi, or hunt for the Ekko she just re-fell in love with? dun dun duuuuun
A tip: don't look for the translation of the French song that plays when Ekko is dancing with Jinx. Trust me, you don't want to know this, it will just make you depressed.
Halfway through this episode I thought maybe Jayce arrived in the future of the same timeline as the others, and Ekko and Heimerdinger caused the destruction trying to get back home using Hextech. Glad that wasn’t the case
Someone said "Anything shown to the audience, is never unintentional" Based on that statement, the stones hidden away in that drawer, Powders doll to Vi, the mural, and powders realizing that Ekko is from a different timeline. I think the better situation between the upper city and the lower city is due to maim universes Heimerdinger's influence on politics in the 3 years he was there already. Also this version of Silco found the letter in their old hideout. So he made up with Vander and never formed his alliance with Singed to create Shimmer.

singed did not cause lava Vander. singed injected him only in the 3rd arc when he gave vander's blood to viktor. lava vander was a reaction to viktor having a grip on him during healing and then viktor suddenly dying.
7:30 The main fan theory about why the anomaly sent Hammerdonger and Ekko to the Good Place and sent Jayce to Hell is because in the good universe Jayce blew up and there wasn't a Jayce for his mind to be put into. No actual confirmation I'm aware of of what happened to him in the good universe though.
Looking at the scene replayed during this rewatch though I DON'T think Jayce got explodified. In our timeline he (and Cupcake) were just about to enter the place when the explosion went off and blew the door right off it's hinges. When the enforcers show up in the good timeline the door doesn't look blown up. So unless Jayce actually made it into the room I think he lived.

18:05 probably in this timeline Silco saw Vander's letter.
Yeah, he probably heard Felicia's daughter died, maybe he was feeling nostalgic so he went back to his and Vander's old spot in the tunnels.
Could have also been Vi's death that brought them back together

Ekko really woke up in the good timeline and left it because he was needed. Jayce suffering while Ekko gets the girl is hilarious
The latter sounds very familiar especially to Jayce

Silco probably found Vander's letter in the mines. Heimerdinger was in the timeline for 3 years, so he surely influenced Zaun - Piltover relations.
19:19, The special thing about the frame rate is that it is 4fps: 4 frames per second, because Ekko's time device thing only goes back 4 seconds 🥺💖
Brilliant. This show is a masterpiece
the scene where Vi dies and Powder cries her heart out really hit me right in the feels especially when I didn't see it coming
"What happened in this timeline that made him forgive Vander?!"
Answer: Silco read Vander's letter in this one.
The fact that this episode shows that if Vi had died everything would be PERFECT hurts me so much...
That is episode 2x07, right? Glad you are back, looking forward to that reaction :)
Went from giving Timebomb no consideration to it being OTP. Impressive for one episode.
the framerate of the dance was 4 secs symbolizing the moment in time that replays in his head and his hex power limit
