Since yesterday I have been crying from time to time over this scene of ekko and powder. so beautiful, sad and melancholic at the same time, it is so perfect.
@@raulc8499 LOL that and I've literally watched every reaction to episode 7 that's on TH-cam I believe.. I can't even count how many times I have watched it specifically for their dance and kiss scene It's written so incredibly good and everything else, the music, the art style.
i think it's blatantly selfish to willingly choose to stay knowing that the actual versions of ppl u know will suffer and u could've done something to change the outcome not to mention so long as he stayed that timeline's ekko ceased to exist which isn't fair to him, he didnt ask to be replaced
@@nintandao64 its easy to say this, but if you had to grow up watching everyone around you either die or change for the worse, and your present timeline is a war that will most likely end with everyone turning into a zombie in the arcane, you'd be pretty damn tempted to stay in the world where your friends and family are alive and happy.
@@nintandao64 Yes it is selfish, yet i don't know if there are many people that are selfless enough to actually do what Ekko did. And without being in that situation i don't think any of us know what we would have done.
Jayce was all about the future so he went to the future Heimerdinger was all about stopping the mistakes of the past so he went back in time And Ekko was all about helping in the present so he went to the present
19:30 That's not the reason. In S1 she also takes the stones and ends up using them in the monkey that causes all those deaths in Act 1. Hextech doesn't exist because there was a casualty. A kid. That means the investigation was open-and-shut. They didn't need to send enforcers to Zaun to investigate, and Vander didn't have to give up everything for her daughter. And having a casualty made it much more likely for the council to kill the project. Vi dying stopped the course of the events from S1 Act 1 that led to everything else.
I just realized. Simpler than that, since there never was a mission to save Vander, powder was never left behind, she never had a break down, and never realized what the hextech crystals did (or maybe just put them in the Vi box and forgot about them).
@@hansim3894 That's exactly what I said. Vi dies=Open-and-shut case. Enforcers don't go to Zaun to investigate, Vander doesn't have to give himself up for Vi. The council recognizes the danger and kills the project. Nothing happens.
another thing to mention, in this universe, silco likely found the letter than vander wrote to him as shown in s2 ep5(?) which means the entire drug empire, and especially shimmer never came to be
On top of that, Viktor would see the death of an undercity child and associate the Hex crystals with something bad, and end up not saving Jayce from jumping off of the building, so no Hextech was even close to being thought about, let alone invented. And no Hextech means that Piltover is not as oppressive to Zaun as in the real timeline, so there was no incentive to push shimmer production.
@@drezarom3627 No. Heimerdinger arrived at the parallel universe 1128 days (slightly over 3 years) before Ekko but the events that shaped that reality happened way earlier, with Vi's death.
This is definitely my favorite episode of the season, its so beautiful 😍🥺😭 I'm so happy to know that at least in one universe Ekko and Powder (Jinx) are happy together 😍⏳💣💚💙
This episode hits deep. It made me think of a past relationship that ended bad but had so many beautiful moments in the beginning. When Ekko said "Don't you ever wish you can stay in one moment?" Wrecked me.
The necklace/pendant/chime thing that Ekko gives Powder makes me sad because it effectively means "unattainable love". He wanted to give her something to remember him by, and she puts it away into the drawer with something to remember Vi and is honoring the Ekko that she has now lost too. Though it leaves it up to chance that maybe down the road, Powder has potential or wonder to do something more.
The dance scene with Ekko and Jinx was animated at 4 FPS for the 4 seconds hes able to rewind time and also you should look up the lyrics of the song they dance too.
I like to think Powder is keeping the hex gems from ever being used again, seeing as she has seen how dangerous they are. It killed Vi and as far as she knows Himer as well. I find it interesting to that she keeps them in Vi's drawer with Vi's doll, much like how Jinx use to keep reminders of her mistakes, powder in a way is doing the same. I think that is why Powder is also limiting what she does, she is happy and more confident, She doesn't want to lose who she is (powder) to chase some dream. Unlike Jinx who was always chasing some outside approval for her self worth. ultimately making sure her curiosity doesn't get the best of her again. By placing main time line ekko's gift in the same drawer its like she is metaphorically closing the drawer on those things in her life. Powder is happy and whole, spending her time helping others be their best self. While Jinx was sadly, traumatized and felt like she was not good for anybody and so spend most of her time trying to get others to see her as useful and not a burden. Bringing back the line powder and ekko say to each other about letting things go to make progress. Powder has let go on the need to standout in the extreme way Jinx does, but finds a way to stand strong in her own way instead. (she does still likes to make a good (more tame) entrance though! lol)
It’s almost as if Vi was the jinx and not powder. As you said she’s the reason hextech never took off since she kept all the hexshards needed to create hextech and something happened to Jayce. This was such a beautiful but heartbreaking episode. My favorite out the series. It also showed that no matter what powder and vi are not meant to be together
New universe powders story is crazier when you think about it. Ekko and Vander say she's destined to do great things in every universe, shes afraid of applying herself because she doesnt want to make the same mistakes Jayce from our reality made, and lastly in our reality Jinx figured out Hextech in her cave when she had the Hextech gemstone in season 1, she just needed like a week to study it. She's going to be the one that will invent Hextech in the new reality.
ithink hextech failed in pilltover remember the 1st season vi and the group tried to steal hextech gemstones and it exploded i think it s there vi died in that alternate reality or another moment.. it think the course of event changed due to the fact people picked different decisions in that alternate future we dont see jayce so maybe he never came to pilltover and never started hextech and the gemstones were found by somebody else...
Given heimerdinger is a yordle and cannot die (his spirit form will return to bandle city) its likely he has stayed in the AU, so i think he would actively work to make sure powder doesnt go on to invent hextech (even though i dont think she would given its the thing that killed her sister)
I think the crystals being in the drawer of the shrine, plus putting what I assume is (Our) Ekko's gift to her in the same drawer, is a sort of putting the past behind her, and moving on.
@@eenigma2663 i think powder realised way earlier than the end of the episode that ekko was not her ekko, and she fell inlove with him all over again. I think her putting the necklace away is her way of mourning the loss of that ekko even though she still has her own
hextech doesn't exist in that reality because Vi die in the explosion and maybe that's is the reason why we don't see an alternative version of jayce (prison)
jayce might have died as well, i can't tell for certain but it looked like powder only had two spheres in her hand and the pouch at the end. that means the explosion would have been bigger.
Jayce in that universe is most likely locked up in prision. He was almost arrested in the original one just for tampering with magic and in this new universe he not only did that but it also killed someone.
Professor is Yordle so he cant die, he just came back to Bungle City where all Yordles lives. He was this last power supply that Ekko needed for opening portal.
Powders wears a necklace that kid Vi is wearing in the bridge scene in S1 E1, and that same necklace is used by Vander as a bracelet in the flashback of S2 E5.
A theory I have about why Jayce is not in the alternate universe where Ekko is (their version of Jayce) is because if you remember in episode 2, during the trial he was supposed to be banished from Piltover but Heimerdinger ultimately reprimanded him to the care of his mother and simply had him expelled from the academy. In this universe, Vi dies during the heist, meaning not just a building was blown to pieces, so the council most likely did banish him fully so he technically exists in that universe but elsewhere.
@@arvinsim I think that's slightly incorrect because there was technically no Jayce in Jayce's universe either (the version of him in that universe is the one at the top of the hexgate holding down the hammer all corrupted). Heimerdinger also says something about it affecting Jayce differently, iirc
That or Viktor didn’t stop Jayce from jumping off of that building in S1E2, so there is physically no Jayce alternative to be transported to in this timeline.
Probably my favorite episode this season. I just needed a little bit of happiness between all the depression and sadness that we had to go through in Arcane lol. Jinx and Powder my favorite characters in any universe at this point.
19:12 Alternate Powder still having the gemstone shards raises two questions: Will she or someone in that timeline eventually invent hextech? And is the apocalypse Jayce witnessed inevitable?
How does powder not realize the shards they're using to create the anomaly is made from the same gemstone that she has in her cabinet? The episode was a masterpiece up until that scene.
