The problem with the OEM lights in the frunk of the Rivian is not the brightness, it is the placement. Whenever you have the frunk filled with bags or whatever, they cover up the lights and you can’t see anything that is in the frunk. There needs to be a light on the underside of the hood that shines down. I will be looking to get a push button light that I can adhere. I have had a problem with seeing what’s in my frunk multiple times. It seems so obvious to have such an oversight. One of the very few issues with the Rivian. Amazing machine!
Fantastic demonstration of these great lights! I installed a whole bunch of these from Abstract Ocean on my Model 3 in August 2018. The difference is incredible!
The problem with most modern cars isn't the brightness of the lights, it's the placement. They put them in the stupidest places, where if you have anything at all in the compartment it covers the lights. Old cars had it right - they put lights in the trunk lid, the underside of the hood, and in general where they did the most good and suffered least from being blocked. I put the Abstract Ocean lights in my Model S, but I got so sick and tired of the obstruction issue that I added strip lights under the side supports for the rear cargo cover, under the rear seats far aft of the idiotic, utterly useless OEM ones, and in the very top edge of the back of the frunk. Problem solved!
I have the yellow in the frunk and tunnel. Waiting for a solution from AO for the inside lights. I know it is a different wiring system but hopefully you will find an easy, good looking solution.
THANKS ERIK , FOR HELPING OUT WITH THE INSTALLATION AND I AM ALSO IN THE CAMP,YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MUCH LIGHTS AND OPTIONS 🤗😎👍💚💚💚

They've been working hard on an interior solution. Hopefully soon!
The yellow lights may draw less insects. Great if you go camping since they market the Rivian as an adventure pick-up.
I had to do the same thing to my C7 Corvette. A $75,000 car with some lights led and some not, lol.
