The only genuine use I can think of for a washing machine app on your phone, is if the app can tell the washing machine that you've left your phone in the pocket of the trousers you're about to wash! Outside of that, I honestly just want an app free kitchen. It's getting ridiculous.
I'm definitely inclined to agree, I'm happy with smart home stuff in certain areas such as heating I can control remotely (like being able to turn it on before I get home) or smart lighting to give adjustable colours and colour temperature but a lot of the stuff is pretty pointless. My particular favourite is my dishwasher which is technically "smart" except it only supports NFC so if you want to use it from the app you literally have to pick the programme on the app, press a button on the dishwasher to put it into app mode then touch your phone to the NFC reader on the machine. It literally takes the same number of button presses on the dishwasher as it takes to just select a programme from the machine itself. (For the record, I didn't buy it for this feature, I just bought it as a cheap but decent looking dishwasher and it happened to have it)
@@camerongray1515 The sad thing is that NFC antenna and extra button for the "app mode", not to mention designing the app and the code that runs on the dishwasher, adds to the cost of the dishwasher, while being absolutely pointless. They knew it was pointless, yet force you to buy it anyway, just like a "smart" TV that doesn't run FireOS or Roku OS.
The app is pretty useful as it shows you the uodated time for your laundry from the original estimate. Also you get a notification when the machine is finished. So you don't have to keep checking up on it. Also any new programmes that samsung make will be added to the machine through WiFi and the app. Also you can track how much electricity the machine is using over the year. You are also shown best times to use the machine for your area to reduce your carbon emissions. I was not to fussed about the app feature when I bought my samsung series 9 dryer, but have found it useful since. It had a recipe feature where you tell it what type of clothes you have put in like socks, jeans, shirts, towels, etc. Then it creates a cycle based on the load.
I just installed the wash only version of that machine last week. 5+ auto dose [WW90T534DAN]. However, i don't seem to have the facility to overide the softner and detergent auto load. Which means if i have detergent for colours in the auto drawer, and i'm washing whites. There's no way to stop the coloured detergent from dispensing. If i try the manual section in the drawer, that might do the trick. Many thanks for the very informative demonstration. How are you finding the machine at this stage? Hold on, I just figured out the auto detergent and softner cancel method.
Hope you can help I got this machine yesterday and after being without a machine for a week due to delivery and fitting date I did a towel wash in the towel, programme but I filled both auto dispensers but did not go into the programme to choose that i wanted high dispense firstly would it still dispense both the detergent and conditioner automatically without me ensuring auto dispense was not off? The towels looked extremely clean but did not have a strong smell of conditioner is that because I had not gone in and set high if I use without auto dispense I put detergent into front section measured out and presume I still use the softener section that has lid but measure the amount I’d conditioner and make sure the auto dispense is switched off. Thanks for the video as apart from checking this auto dispense you made it easy for me to use immediately. Hope you respond soon have a weeks washing to catch up with 😌
Hardwire the machine wire into an isolator switch socket and completely eliminate the plug. You know the type of socket with an orange light and a red switch 🎉🎉🎉
I could have done, although I'd rather have a plug to make it easier to disconnect the appliance in the future. You also absolutely wouldn't want to wire it into an "isolator switch" as this wouldn't contain a fuse to protect the flex, you'd need to use a fused connection unit.

Hi, just a quick one (before buying): the autodose only works with liquid detergent or shall I use the old good washing powder? If so, which is the place to fill with the powder? Thank you
Hi in the auto detergent compartment, once you pour the detergent and softner, do you put the caps on when washing or do we leave it open and just shut the whole compartment?
Hey man! You know on quick washes - can you make the fast wash have a full spin? Many washing machines only give you between 400-1000 instead of the full 1400? Thanks
You mean that your clothes don't smell of Comfort despite it being in the softener tank? You can change the amount of softener used from the settings under the "hand" button, you may just need to set this to a higher level if it's adding less softener than you normally would.

You'd need to do this before every cycle - load the machine, enable smart control which will lock the door and then when you want to start it, you can then start it from the app.

Hi there, can u tell me how to add more water when washing? Because it seems that the cloth does not submerge into water when washing.. just water coated the cloth😅tqsm!
I don't think you can change that setting but you shouldn't need to, front loading washing machines don't fill up entirely with water, they partially fill in the bottom of the drum and then rotate the clothes through the water.
It is all part of the design of modern machines only to use the minimum of electricity and water. I remember machines with 5 rinse cycles and now they default to two.
We bought the Samsung front load new 6 weeks ago. Horrible, horrible customer service. The washer only leans your clothes if they aren’t really dirty. Sweaty clothes, bedwetters clothes, or whites that you would like to use bleach for disinfectant make this washer not a good choice. It allows you to put a few tablespoons of bleach for a load with washcloths, dirty white socks, tee shirts etc. when the bleach bottle tells you a half cup to 3/4 cup. So, the germs remain. Things you would like emerged in water make Samsung not a good choice. HUGE buyer’s remorse. Miss my top load agitator style washer. I normally love your videos but I'm so sorry I cannot bring myself to watch a 35 minute review of a washer-dryer. Hope you understand.
You're welcome to watch or not watch whatever videos you choose, I just make videos on things that I'm doing or working on. While videos like this don't necessarily appeal to everyone in my core audience, they can sometimes do pretty well from people searching for reviews of a particular product and the revenue from this can help fund more interesting projects.
@@camerongray1515 Completely agree. While most people on this channel will be interested in computer type stuff, there will certainly be others outside this group that will appreciate a detailed video and review of this washing machine. I know personally when I am looking for information on a specific item, I would be delighted to come across such a detailed and purpose-made video like this. It is EXCATLY what some people somewhere need!
What's the depth of the machine including the door please? It shows that it is 690mm but I'd like to check as I only have 670mm precisely in my cupboard. downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202204/20220420160832152/U-PJT_COMBO-AD_SimpleUX_WEB_SSEC-02_EU_English.pdf
