They really remind me of Mogwai, during the Young Team era. Not musically, but in terms of spirit. They're just throwing away conventional contemporary musical tropes to give us something really fresh and wholly unique. Love it!
Don’t get it twisted, they are all sick musicians and have an unmatched energy. But if they didn’t have Morgan I do not think they would be where they are now. Morgan’s drumming is on another level and perfectly matches the music. Morgan is to Black Midi like Mitch Mitchell was to Jimi Hendrix
I don’t know. Slint sounds like old crossover punk like early Neurosis but with clean vocals instead of 100% screaming. This band sounds nothing like Slint.
I thought exactly the same in 'bmbmbm'. Not only in sound, but in meaning... But Primus's 'To Defy the Laws of tradition' is a frikin manifesto. This kids are the aftermath of that.
Geordie (lead singer) is playing a Reverend Descent RA Baritone guitar, Matt (guitar) is playing a Telecaster, and Cameron (bass) is playing an Eastwood Sidejack 32.
This... this is just noise? I don't see the point, the Talking Heads vocals could be interesting but I feel like this is waaaay beyond my musical understanding
Crazy to think that only a year and a half later these same guys were recording stuff like marlene dietrich, and ascending 4ths
they outgrew the math/noise rock before they were 21 lmao
@@WillJL20 have you listened to low or chondro?
@@conjointoates or dethroned lol
This song is now called Ducter
The bit that starts around 3:44 with those two crazy drum fills just hits SO good. And the drummer’s face while he’s doing em too. Aaa.
A disco classic
Make sure to check these guys out live, if you get the chance. You won't regret it. Pure musical energy.
That must have been awesome to see the 4-piece
I love the transition from quintuplets to triplets and then from the noise precisely back to the quintuplets.
They really remind me of Mogwai, during the Young Team era. Not musically, but in terms of spirit. They're just throwing away conventional contemporary musical tropes to give us something really fresh and wholly unique. Love it!
They've definitely kept that spirit alive
Rightfully sounds like an untitled midi file, this music is undesribeably amazing
wish i could listen to this for the first time again
can't believe it took me so long to find this band....srsly love it.
this song is incredible
The drummer makes this utterly unbelievable!
I can’t stop listening to this song 🤘🏼🤘🏼
2:26 is pure Slint
if Slint ever featured Dave Thomas from Pere Ubu
lmao I was thinking the same fucking thing
Sounds like this one moment on this spider album! Similar bands, similar sounds. But black midi stays different.
I don’t know. Slint sounds like old crossover punk like early Neurosis but with clean vocals instead of 100% screaming. This band sounds nothing like Slint.
I miss you...
I really hope these guys keep at it👌
Oh this is that good good
Reminds me of King Crimson during the Adrian Belew era.
They need to do another kexp session fr
So proud of these boiz rn
coming back to this and crying like a real man
I like the new stuff but this was just amazing
@@viktor280 too bad there isnt going to be anymore new stuff 😢
@@nofrbls3640 if oasis came back nothing is stopped them from returning
@@viktor280 theres always the possibility but it seemed like they ended on pretty bad terms, especially greep and cameron
They Got it!
Plukka, plukka, twang, twang. Yeah, It like the punkish Bryan Ferrying, David Byrnish twang. I will be back
Geordies hair was so cool back then

Greep looked so different Jesus man
Damn, This shit good!
Sounds like flea with some kind of accent
Game changers. Fucking love it....
Sound like Primus a bit.

her 69 mind..lmfao
This guys reminds me to the young foals of first album
Time is fire- fetnah, anyone?
I just wanna know who the editor was and if their name is really Your
You will never know! Mwahaha! (Just kidding, it's in the YT description text)
The accent of the vocalist sounds very weird
Food Machine Broke He’s mixed ethnicity I’m pretty sure
@@wastewoodrockers5526 he looks white af wym?
Conjoint Oates I read it in an interview, I didn’t base it off his looks 😂
@@conjointoates He said mixed ethnicity, not mixed race.
@@wompus6570 ah ok my bad
Getting some major Slint vibes
What’s that guitar
Geordie (lead singer) is playing a Reverend Descent RA Baritone guitar, Matt (guitar) is playing a Telecaster, and Cameron (bass) is playing an Eastwood Sidejack 32.
So this version is a lady antagonist....hmmmm
This... this is just noise? I don't see the point, the Talking Heads vocals could be interesting but I feel like this is waaaay beyond my musical understanding
Yes it is :)
Way behind your musical understanding for sure!
It's no wave.
@@captione6337 this is far too precise to be no wave dude
@@nicktaylor1902 Well that's just according to rym though. You could also hear the Swans Flith-era influence on their sound.
The best song from them
