Geordie is actually such a great vocalist. The instrumentation got my interest, but his singing is what gets stuck in my head and makes me keep coming back

This does sound like Les Claypool from Primus with some experimental Fugazi but glad to hear some rock music from the younger generation. Seems as rock is dead these days.

I'm yet to actually derive a specific meaning from the perspectives in the lyrics of this song but paired with the visuals, I think it's talking about the cyclical nature of history and our powerlessness in stopping that trend. See the castles get smothered by the cityscape, which then gets devoured by a black hole-turned-lamniscate, which is then replaced by a tower of similar architecture to the initial building. All along the way, we're shown classical paintings which begin to mutate, especially as we near the end of the video, where the depictions of death (or even mass death) become more concentrated and direct. I'd like to understand what the characters represented lyrically are intended to symbolize.

I remember when I first heard Mac Demarco back 4 years ago I was hooked because I simply didn’t know that Music could sound like what he was doing. 4 years later, my tastes have change a bit and bed room pop no longer sounds original or interesting. The first time I heard BM, I had the same experience all over again. This music just feels so good and so new. So fresh. God damn keep up the good work. You guys seem to really capture the anxiety and anger I feel towards the current state of the world and the catharsis from it feels so good. Such a release. I’m sure other people have different opinions and experiences with BM but I think the joy for me is knowing that I have my own while others have theirs. Can’t wait for the album in the mail, can’t wait to see you guys blow up.
At first I didn't get the King Gizzard comparison here, but listening again I realise this is kinda structurally similar to Altered Beast IV and the heavy parts definitely sound like they could be from Murder of the Universe just with more noisiness and deranged screaming
i kinda doubt it. based on the way that they’ve spoken about themselves in interviews they might last a while but go through lots of phases. if they do end up splitting i expect a lot of music to come from the individual members.
This band is the Led Zeppelin of our generation. It's like Swans, Slint, Ought, Daughters, Ghost, and Battles with King Diamond vocals and even Frank Zappa-esque lyrics at times. Was this made by aliens? Because it certainly isn't human. This is easily AOTY, maybe even one of the best Rock albums of the decade.
