They are remaking Power Stone. Post Disney buying Lucasfilm ten years ago and announcing they were planning to make Star Wars movies forever, I’m almost surprised Capcom didn’t do anything at all with their Star Wars knockoff series Star Gladiator. If ever there was a time for Capcom to release another Star Gladiator game, or any Star Gladiator game really, it seems like it was between the years 2013 and 2019...especially in that time people were dying for a new Star Wars game and EA was basically doing nothing.
Cyberbots got a US release. I played it in the arcades in the mid 90s. Not only that, Capcom has released it several times since. It's in the first run of the Capcom arcade division.
Any one of these would be welcome, especially if they did a Retro 3D Fighter Collection for Rival Schools, Star Gladiator, Tech Romancer, Power Stone, and Final Fight Revenge. Though honestly, seeing this treasure trove of fighting IP that Capcom is just sitting on makes me want a pure Capcom vs Capcom crossover fighter so much more. They could limit themselves to just 6 characters per series and still have a just insane roster. I call it Capcom All-Star Heroes (because we all know they love that C.A.S.H.).
Thorgi, have you ever thought about doing a "Build a Roster" of all Capcom characters (including franchises they left forgotten)? It would be a good special for the Build the Roster series. Like a 48 player roster, or similar to SNK vs Capcom 2 (I thought I'd call it "Capcom vs Capcom", but seeing the way she treats fan-favorite IPs or runs some projects... Capcom vs Capcom is sad reality for us). Great video!
i was about to talk shit to you if you didn't mention rival schools or project justice. but thankfully you did, and you even put it at number 1. good call👍🏻
Glad to see Power Stone mentioned. Super underrated game. The first one holds up well as a competitive game. You should have mentioned that we can play it online right now with Fightcade.
I cannot remember where I heard this rumor but the reason Star Gladiators is close to Star Wars was that it was originally supposed to be an official Star Wars game. Apparently, Lucas Arts turned Capcom down and decided to make their own fighter which as we all know, was Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi. So yeah, that's a shame if it turns out to be true.
Thank you for adding Megaman the Power Battle and Fighters. They are my favorite Meagaman games of all time. Its sad we haven't gotten a rerelease since the Ps2/Xbox/Gamecube days. There both extremely underrated!
Capcom Quiz Collection 1: Quiz and Dragons 2: Adventure Quiz: Capcom World 3: Adventure Quiz Capcom World 2 4: Quiz Nanairo Dreams (Quiz Nanairo Dreams is both a dating sim and quiz game so it was way before the Rival Schools version).
The Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX thing is so frustrating. Especially since it's not just this one game. This video is inspired by a collection coming out later this month featuring every arcade version of Darkstalkers. Including the two weirdo Vampire Savior iterations for the first time outside Japan. AND YET. It's still not the definitive version of Vampire Savior. Which is the Dreamcast version, which has all the characters in a single release as well as selectable versions of them so that you can play as any iteration of any fighter from any game. This was then further worked on with the PSP version, which was all that and a bunch of new modes. I don't understand this practice of rereleasing these old games but not doing some kind of definitive version of them. All I want is a version of Alpha 3, with good online, all the characters, all the modes from the Dreamcast version (SFA3 without World Tour and Dynamic Battles isn't SFA3) and for it to play properly. That doesn't seem like that big of an ask honestly. More work then an arcade rom yes. But not that much. I'd honestly be happy cutting the "good online" from the list, since it's the part that would need the most work and money invested into it. Playing SFA3 with Guile, T. Hawk, Fei Long and Balrog on a tv shouldn't require me to dig out my Dreamcast. I'm happy to pay for it. Ditto with Vampire. This isn't even the first time since the PSP version that they've rereleased these games with less features. Why is my Dreamcast copy of Vampire for Matching Service a more complete version of what is essentially being sold to us again this month? I love arcade ports. It's great that we're getting Red Earth officially at last. But that's cool because it's the only version of that game. If there was some obscure PS2 port that had three more characters then that's the one I'd be asking for. It's not even greed because they're not even planning to sell these other versions to us later. It's just... weird.
I really wish we at least have a Capcom vs Capcom fighting game. That way we'd be able to play characters from each fighting game franchises that's been ignored for decades.
Glad to see number one! The extra content alone is worth it. The sim games and especially the create-a-fighter board game are infinitely playable even today.
I got into Sengoku Basara via the anime, so someone mentioning the fighting game spin-off made by my people at Arc Sys makes me kinda happy. Hope we do get this in the future! Also Star Gladiator rerelease would be pretty nice as well!
Power Stone Collection should definitely get a re-release. It's perfect for current gen consoles. HD remaster and online play. I'd be in heaven. Rival Schools for sure! Definitely Tech Romancer, and Star Gladiator!
It took a while honestly to get to one worth talking about, but my ears n eyes were alight with joy as soon as Tech Romancer was mentioned! I had it on the Dreamcast and it was so weird and AMAZING..it actually was one of my faves..good luck finding it now so it sorely needs to happen
Honestly? I think the new guys behind Capcom’s fighting division might do more with darkstalkers these days knowing Capcom Fighting Collection and 2nd Stadium
The reason everyone thinks "oh cool, Capcom rereleased an old thing, that means it'll get revived!" is because of the MegaMan legacy collections and MegaMan 11, which only got released because the collections proved people still wanted a new MegaMan game.
the more and more I think about it the more and more hyped I feel for next year, the 40th anniversary. Every year Capcom has done some Crazy awesome re-releases and compilations. I am honestly expecting a third series for the Arcade Stadium, as well as the compilation that will set off the 4oth anniversary with an absolute bang. Capcom Vs. Not just Marvel Vs... oh no.. im talking Marvel, Snk, maybe even Tatsunoko based on how rights might work. I know it sounds insane but just look at all the games being released right now. Crazy time is here my friends, and the 4oth is gonna be Bonkers. I hope.
I never played the Power stone games and the Rival schools series, so maybe if we got those on the Capcom fighting game collection, oh man I would love to play them for the first time ever just like Darkstalkers and red earth.
Sengoku Basara needs more attention from Capcom. The 4 main games should be released outside Japan UNALTERED (yes Devil Kings is the altered westernised version of the first Sengoku Basara) seeing as only Sengoku Basara 3 was the only one released in the west that wasn't altered. Not to mention Date Masamune & Sanada Yukimura would make perfect additions for a Capcom VS. game (preferably a potential Marvel vs. Capcom sequel)
Funny thing is that Masamune Date was actually considered for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, but he later got cut. But yeah, I agree. Basara in the west seems to only be known for the animes.
I agree with the list. I would love to play some of these games. I have most of them. Saturday Night Slam Masters is the only one on the list that I never played that I really want to play. Probably the Final Fight game but I heard it’s bad. LOL! Overall I think SNK has come out with better Fighting Games from their Collection. But pretty much most of them are accessible to play. Some NeoGeo Fighting Games I would love to see a release of that isn’t SNK as well. I’m an SNK Fighting Fan Boy so there’s is most likely some bias here. But I love both. Just glad to see more Fighting Games being made more now. New and the Old. Great times.
Power Stone was so popular back in the day that it got it's own slew of knock-offs. The most popular of which being Shrek Superslam which is actually a popular esport now.
Those are their english names for Ring of Destruction. In the japanese releases they are Kimala the Bouncer, Titan the Great and Aleksey Zalazof respectively.
Red Earth was also on playstation 2 and maybe xbox (don't quote me on that last one). It was introduced to consoles in a game called Capcom Fighting Evolution.
I don't have a ton of arcade memories, but I have two that actually have to do with the Mega Man Power series. The first is having an arcade when I was a lad of 4 or 5 years old that had Mega Man Power Fighters, and that being the moment I fell in love with Proto Man. The second was being on vacation in Mackinac Island at this giant campsite that had a rec room area with, like, five arcade cabinets, and one of them just so happened to be Mega Man Power Fighters. I had, like, 100 bucks I had been given as my vacation money from Mom (Shout out to Mom, best mom in the world) and at least 40 bucks of that got pumped into that machine, because I HAD to get the high score, and when the power went out one of those nights I had to get that back, and then I just wanted to play this game I hadn't seen since I was 4 or 5 years old. That was when I was maybe 12 or 13. I haven't got to play that game since then. I would love nothing more than for Capcom to re-release those games. I would love nothing more than for that re-release to sell super well because THAT GAME WAS SO DAMN GOOD that they, I dunno, make MEGA MAN 3: UNIVERSE OF POWER. Also, Mega Man 3: Universe of Power Build the Roster please lol Seriously, I've thought about it. At this point in Mega Man's history, it could be a fun way to show off all the different versions of Mega Man, and all the different side-tagonists that have been in there. Or it could just have a shit ton of Mega Man characters to pick instead of the protagonist types. Either way I want this game to exist so badly that it hurts. Edit: OH! I wrote all of this out before I'd finished watching the segment, and they're gonna be brought back as part of the Capcom Arcade Stadium.... dang! I guess I'm gonna have to actually look into that. Hell yes!!!
14:10 Hold up, a sword fighter named Gerelt whose style incorporates a ton of pirouettes? The Witcher has been in video games longer than any of us knew.
Just an idea-- Capcom could make a "Capcom Fighting Universe" project. All-new installments of Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Star Gladiator, Power Stone. Release them in "seasons" like recent Street Fighter and Marvel games, you can upgrade to the next game for a small price or buy individually for full price. Then introduce a Dream Match mode so characters from each game can fight each other. That would fill the void left by MvC, and Capcom can do their DLC and tournament stuff (probably why they don't make small fighting games like Samurai Shodown 2019 or SNK Heroines)
Fun story on how I first discovered the Onimusha series. It was because me discovering that Megaman.EXE and Zero from Megaman Zero were in Onimusha Blade Warriors since I was a huge Megaman fan. So yes, my introduction to this survival horror game series in feudal Japan was because of the bizarre platformer fighter spin off. Also, so glad to see Sengoku Basara X getting some love being a huge Arc System Works fan as well.
9:00 I mean, aside from having the basic Mega Man controls, it has a setup similar-ish to the first Fatal Fury; pick from a small selection of fighters to go through a roster of other fighters. Also, it did get a Vs. mode in a PS2 rerelease....in Japan.
Rival Schools Series, Power Stone Series, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Plasma Sword/Star Gladiator needs it's own Capcom Fighting Game Collection in itself for real along with Tech Romancer and Cyberbots!
I'm surprise no Power Stone characters wasn't in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite it made sense for them to be in the game due to the story but whatever.
you shouldn't be surprised, Infinite had so much red tape from the Marvel side it became it's own downfall.

Edit: I also definitely think a 3D fighting collection is what’s gonna come next. Rival Schools, Star Gladiator, Power Stone, and Tech Romancer all in one place is an easy slam dunk.

we're barely out of 2024, and already most of the games *intentionally excluded* from the start, in addition to some games on this list proper, have already been confirmed to return in some collection down the road. Or in the next few weeks in the case of Marvel.
*God, I'm STILL waiting on Capcom to bring back Zero 2 Alpha and Ring of Destruction/Super Muscle Bomber*
Street Fighter 3 needs a “master edition” which features all 3 titles, but also a “Final Strike” which has every playable character palette, every stage and OST from each of the 3 iterations.
I would love to play 3rd Strike on Elena’s bridge stages….
Or 3rd Strike in Necro’s Train stage
Even cooler would be if they add some of the characters they had planned for a theorical 4th edition.
@@bolthesorcerer3570 Yes please, CAMMY, JURI, Sakura, Blanka, Sagat, Zangief, Karin, Dhalsim, Rolento, Guile, Adon would all be DOPE AF in Final Strike
A rival schools with persona elenents?! Hell yea do it capcom! 🤩🤩
Cyberbots was released outside of Japan in arcades. It was the home console port that remained Japan exclusive.
You can get both megaman games in the Capcom arcade stadium 2.
I agree with Plasma Sword (Star Gladiator 2) 😎
Heritage for the future should be rereleased
Facts
Cyberbots DID release outside of Japan tho! Only the home console ports didn't!
Just call it either "Capcom Vs" or "Project Capcom" but that's actually a pretty cool idea
I played Sengoku Basara X in arcades back in the day and was so happy to add that to the PS2 collection too! Don't worry I'm still talking about it
i was about to talk shit to you if you didn't mention rival schools or project justice. but thankfully you did, and you even put it at number 1. good call👍🏻
Rival Schools, Star Gladiator and Power Stone are definitely a must
Heck yeah, I couldn't agree, more!
Glad to see Power Stone mentioned. Super underrated game. The first one holds up well as a competitive game. You should have mentioned that we can play it online right now with Fightcade.
Capcom needs to release a Viewtiful Joe Collection! I'm so waiting for that.
I want a full 3D Saturday Night Slam Masters wrestling game
Actually we're about to get a rerelease. Thorgi even mentions it in the video.
Capcom Quiz Collection
1: Quiz and Dragons
2: Adventure Quiz: Capcom World
3: Adventure Quiz Capcom World 2
4: Quiz Nanairo Dreams
(Quiz Nanairo Dreams is both a dating sim and quiz game so it was way before the Rival Schools version).
Star Gladiator is *criminally* underrated, and SFA3 is the greatest SF OF ALL TIME.
Correction 2 is better. Lol
Coming to you from 28/8/2024 and... well, 3 out of the top 5 ain't bad!
It's just... weird.
We need a Capcom 3D Fighting Collection.
Thank you for catering to us old heads who been gaming for ever..might have to subscribe!
Please Capcom give us a collection of Power Stone and Star Gladiator, Rival Schools!
I got into Sengoku Basara via the anime, so someone mentioning the fighting game spin-off made by my people at Arc Sys makes me kinda happy. Hope we do get this in the future!
Also Star Gladiator rerelease would be pretty nice as well!
What's keeping Capcom from porting that PSP Power Stone Collection to modern consoles?
But Ring of Destruction has 5 buttons, one of them is a dedicated Grapple button.
Power Stone Collection should definitely get a re-release. It's perfect for current gen consoles. HD remaster and online play. I'd be in heaven.
Rival Schools for sure! Definitely Tech Romancer, and Star Gladiator!
Well mvc is back
Hey uuhmmmmm so uhhhh yeahhhh ummmmmmm
It took a while honestly to get to one worth talking about, but my ears n eyes were alight with joy as soon as Tech Romancer was mentioned! I had it on the Dreamcast and it was so weird and AMAZING..it actually was one of my faves..good luck finding it now so it sorely needs to happen
Honestly? I think the new guys behind Capcom’s fighting division might do more with darkstalkers these days knowing Capcom Fighting Collection and 2nd Stadium
Ring of destruction definitely needs to return. I really hope the characters from the game return to sf 6
The reason everyone thinks "oh cool, Capcom rereleased an old thing, that means it'll get revived!" is because of the MegaMan legacy collections and MegaMan 11, which only got released because the collections proved people still wanted a new MegaMan game.
Rival Schools series r hidden jems they r some of the most fun fighting game I’ve ever played needs a revival badly
As soon as I saw Sanada Yukimura (Basara version) I got hooked!
Hey, really nice video! You could also mention a game that hadn't actually been released, the incomplete port of *Capcom Fighting All-Stars!* :}
Power Stone II for the win.
Holy shit Thorgi is on a tear with the content time to watch another banger!
the more and more I think about it the more and more hyped I feel for next year, the 40th anniversary. Every year Capcom has done some Crazy awesome re-releases and compilations. I am honestly expecting a third series for the Arcade Stadium, as well as the compilation that will set off the 4oth anniversary with an absolute bang.
Capcom Vs.
Not just Marvel Vs... oh no.. im talking
Marvel, Snk, maybe even Tatsunoko based on how rights might work.
I know it sounds insane but just look at all the games being released right now. Crazy time is here my friends, and the 4oth is gonna be Bonkers.
I hope.
Mega Man& Zero were included into Omnimusha Blade Warriors because they have blades/ swords. Plus it's cool! 😎
I’m hoping that with sales being great we get more fighter collections. And cause well I want alien vs predator on switch
Number 1 and number 4 were my favorites, by far. It would be a dream come true! Love your channel. Hope CAPCOM is listening. Thanks!
I still have Tech Romancer for the Sega Dreamcast! The characters, music and story mode is so cool, and it's jam packed with content!
I grew up on capcom fighting games too...it's the reason the dreamcast is my favorite console.
Power Stone was so popular back in the day that it got it's own slew of knock-offs. The most popular of which being Shrek Superslam which is actually a popular esport now.
Don’t forget Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold. That added Cammy (in her XMvSF outfit) to the SFA2 roster.
Fantastic list. Especially SFA 3 Max. I've been asking for it for years
Great to see another video from you so soon!
I have literally played all these games in my childhood and baby they need to make time for these gems
Correction. Cyberbots was released outside of japan. Just not in home consoles until the new collection.
I've never heard Sengoku Basara being enunciated in such an American fashion, well maybe from a western dub of 90's anime "Hey there Sakooorah!"
Those are their english names for Ring of Destruction. In the japanese releases they are Kimala the Bouncer, Titan the Great and Aleksey Zalazof respectively.
I love the fourth wall break.
BasaraX just looks so fucking cool, too bad its 100% never getting a re-release version
Also, Mega Man 3: Universe of Power Build the Roster please lol
Seriously, I've thought about it.
Hell yes!!!
There already is an arcade in SF6 and you can even see classic games title screens if you zoom in on the image.
Slam Master will be released as part of the Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium on July 22 on consoles and steam
Looks like you didnt watch the full Video.
9:00 I mean, aside from having the basic Mega Man controls, it has a setup similar-ish to the first Fatal Fury; pick from a small selection of fighters to go through a roster of other fighters. Also, it did get a Vs. mode in a PS2 rerelease....in Japan.
Didn't it also get a Vs. mode in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Xbox?
@@papaG6423 Nope. All the XBox version got extra was an ep of Mega Man NT Warrior.
@@MrElbowsmash huh... I guess I misremembered. Hopefully the new rerelease of Power Fighters and Power Battle get the Vs. mode
Your energy for loving capcom fgs is matched by me looool 😆😆😎
The collection is great. I would love to try star gladiator
Rival Schools Series, Power Stone Series, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Plasma Sword/Star Gladiator needs it's own Capcom Fighting Game Collection in itself for real along with Tech Romancer and Cyberbots!
That tactic only worked twice(Mega Man 11 and Mega Man X Dive). The fact this collection isn't a test is a pretty good move.
since akira's release in sfv. ive been craving a rival schools rerelease. I need it
