She's also like Sakura from Street Fighter. Because both Morrigan and Sakura are more popular than the intended faces of the franchise, Demitri and Ryu.
@GlitchanBlack ryu is still the protagonist according to capcom and most people. Maybe the fandom likes her more but ryu is still more well known. Nobody remembers dimitri especially in comparison to morrigan who's become the face of darkstalkers to everyone.

Since I don't see it on the timeline, I'll just throw in ARMS from Nintendo. Great character designs, wonderful art style, fun and creative lore, and unique gameplay that actually felt pretty good. Just include a singleplayer campaign akin to Splatoon to expand on the world and lore more, a tweaked control scheme to allow normal stick controls, some fun new stages and characters, and maybe some a new online multiplayer mode and it would probably garner a lot of praise. The original sold over 2.5 million units, which isn't bad at all for a new I.P that launched with a new system.
@@professorwizard8916 I believe there were character bios, and they also released little tid bits leading up to launch. For instance, there was a post detailing how those stricken with these types of arms couldn't really use them properly until a scientist invented a mask that allowed them to control them, even letting them form into normal arms and hands again.
Hard agree, it's a fun game once you get into the rhythm of it and the community behind it, as small as it is, is one of the best and most passionate FG communities I've been a part of
@@BeeLy1011 Yeah, and they tried making it a legit e-sport, but because of its controls and balance, it didn't really catch on as much as it could have.
Virtua Fighter, Rival Schools, Power Stone, Art Of Fighting, and I’d love a new CVS game. It seems that an SVC or CVS will inevitably at this point come into fruition. With that said yes I’d love to see a new Dark Stalkers game as well.
Haven't watched the entire video yet but I've reached the Art of Fighting section. You wanna know how you do Art of Fighting? You make a spin-off that plays and feels like Yakuza. Small but highly detailed world, explore South Town as you get into fights, partake in mini-games, hang out around late-70's inspired versions of famous Fatal Fury locations, steadily punch your way through several beloved characters and work your way up to your dramatic confrontation with Mr. Karate and Mr. Big. And then you put those versions of Ryo, Robert, Yuri and King into KoF going forward. You can then do what Yakuza also does, reuse a s***ton of assets to churn out high-quality sequels, aging the characters up into their Fatal Fury appearances and beyond. EDIT: Oh wow, cannot believe he came to that same game but for Rival Schools. Eh, to each their own, I'm personally way, waaay more interested in AoF Yakuza than Rival Schools Yakuza.
I feel like you could do the Yakuza format just as well for Fatal Fury, to be honest. Hell, if you wanted to make it even more interesting, maybe you could even incoporate that one mechanic from GTA V where you can switch between three main characters at most times in the open world and see what they’re doing when you’re not controlling them.
This is my first time seeing Thorgi’s face and hearing his voice come out of it was like seeing a silent film star speak for the first time. It’s going to take some time to adjust to what I thought his face looked like. Also, as always, amazing content! You’re an instant click when I see it on my feed!
I know Morrigan is already on the thumbnail, so of course this has already been said but I'll say it anyway: DARKSTALKERS. Darkstalkers is a fighting game that needs a sequel. Please.
Hears BlazBlue needing an asterisk... **slowly raises torch.** Listens to both praise for the game and valid reasoning for sequel/spiritual successor hybrid. **Extinguishes torch**
@@Juju2927 Considering how few resources BlazBlue gets from ArcSys (have not forgiven them for the CF dub fiasco) I think the best we can hope for at the moment is a Ragna DLC in Strive.
@@Juju2927 Can't believe that, with all of the crossover games that made the list, Cross Tag got ignored. Arcsys has essentially entered a new era, and an Arcsys crossover would go crazy no matter what. Even if they don't think to put the Blazblue characters in at launch, that's the most obvious dlc any devs could possibly wish for. side note: can we talk about how no GG characters made it into Cross Tag, but we got RWBY and Senran Kagura somehow?

As a big Kaiju-head, I would love for Godzilla to get a fighting game. I actually figured last year would have been the perfect opportunity to capitalise on the lizard's big success in the west thanks to the Monsterverse movies. Naturally, getting the right from Toho would be a challenge, but if Gigabash could do it then it's not an impossibillity.
I do think a new DOA is an inevitability, because when Tecmo mentioned it and Ninja Gaiden during an investors meeting as an example of "classic franchises they would like to revive", news of a "DOA and Ninja Gaiden reboot" was making headlines on basically every major game news site, and a lot of FG content creators talked about it. The head of Team Ninja had to come out and say that nothing was in the works at the moment, but the fact that the idea they MIGHT do it caused so much buzz probably showed them that there's still a lot of support for those franchises. also I fell in love with DOA right as 6 was coming out so I want to feel the hype of a new game reveal lol
@@illfordThe series definitely lost a lot of reputation for a while, mostly seen as a thing from the past and their monetization approach made newcomers scared of the games, plus the series is frequently used as a big example of 2000’s gaming horniness to the point of absurdity, mixed those aspects and the series is essentially a laughing stock now. The only way this could change is if Koei Tecmo gets their act together and fix those issues.
DOA is a lost cause and will need massive fix before new installment, but I really wish for new Ninja Gaiden, so we can have all the big character action game back in modern era. DMC is back, Bayo is back(or is it dead now cos of the ending?), and the only one missing is our boy Ryu.
There is a fan-made Sonic fighting game, allthough I don't like how it just rips off animations from fighting games. I'm not joking, Sonic has Rashid's idle animation and attacks from SFV, Shadow uses Wesker's gun attacks from MVC3, The guy from Balan Wonderworld (yes, he's a playable character) just copies all of Dr Strange's mesh from MVC3. I think Omega even has a Potemkin Buster. Again, it is a fan game, but damn, maybe try to put some originallity into it.
Lowkey I like Sonic Battles emphasis on customisation I just wish it had a more conventional playstyle. The GBA was nkt designed for the game it was tryna be
Dead or Alive definitely needs sequels. They're the ONLY 3D fighter competing with Tekken, especially with Virtua Fighter MIA. Losing DOA is a huge blow to the industry imo. I do absolutely hate KT's monetization though.
Yeah; that's why, as much as this may be considered blasphemy to parts of the FGC, I put Rival Schools above Darkstalkers on the Capcom rankings. As much as Darkstalkers may be a good series with a really cool style, DoA is dead, Soulcalibur is dead, Virtua Fighter is in re-release holding pattern, all of the older series that switched to 3D at some point along the road have long since switched back to 2D, and while the Anime Arena fighters can at least act as a somewhat of a supplement, they're not the same thing as true 3D fighters. Preferring 3D fighting games in the modern day is pain even if you're a fan of Tekken, and if you're not, the genre is dead.
@@niemand7811 1. Soul Calibur is also dead. SC6 flopped and the future of the series is looking grim. 2. Soul Calibur is by the same devs as Tekken so that's not really competition. 3. Soul Calibur is also a weapon fighter which is kind of its own different thing.

Next Build the roster has to be a Godzilla pipeworks style fighting game. I'm hoping he puts 46 fighters if that happens and makes the Monsterverse the main focus of the roster, but have the Heiesi era the showa era the millennia era and the modern era that would be amazing
BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN WAS THE GAME THAT CONVINCED ME THAT 1: THE PLAYSTATION WAS THE FUTURE! B: I NEEDED ONE! I got to play Battle Arena Toshinden on the PS1 BEFORE the PS1 dropped at a museum dedicated to the evolution of moving images (from carousels to film to videogames) on a field trip and the PS1 was the newest entrant into their history of videogames section. 3D fighting games blew my mind. I spent the ENTIRE trip playing that game.
1:02:29 Everything you wanted for Tekken Tag Tournament is how Dead or Alive treated the mode in the past. People don't even remember it anymore, despite having quite fun 2v2 fights in the vein of 2XKO.
Outside of Thorgi's videos, I know basically nothing about fighting games and probably haven't played anything more than an hour of Mortal Kombat in the last decade, but this man's knowledge and passion for the topic is so infectious that I've watched every retrospective and build the roster and most of the tier lists. You know you're making cool content when it hooks a guy who barely cares about the topic. Keep it up man.
If I remember right, Art of Fighting took place in the mid- to late-'70s. Both Ryo and Geese are in their mid- to late-20s. Hell, Red Earth can be a Roguelike Brawler/Beat-em-up
My ideas for sequels to obscure fighting games: * BBTAG, because it deserves a second chance * Karate Champ, because I think it might be pretty cool to see a sequel to one of the trailblazers of the FG genre. * Heavyweight Champ, for the same reasons as Karate Champ. * Fighting Fury on the PS2, aka. the Baki fighting game * Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist, since a Garouden anime is already out. * Buriki One, but it would be called “Buriki Two”.
something i think would be more fun than bbtag would be just a dedicated rwby fighting game using the 5 characters from that as a basis, i do bbtag could've gotten a couple more characters especially for arcana heart and senran kagura since you weren't able to do a dedicated team for those series
@@mikaelamonsterlandMy idea is to just do something similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series where the title(to avoid creating any big expectations about what this hypothetical game should be) and gameplay(mostly to please the angry fans who hated the simplistic gameplay) are completely separate from the OG BBTAG, but the whole idea, crossing over a bunch of obscure anime-esque franchises together would remain the same.
@@TetsuDeinonychusI had a fuckin BLAST with bbtag. It was so fun and had so many characters I really loved. I think it's a huge sleeper for how little it seemed to be in the zeitgeist of the fgc.
@mikaela5938 I woukd play a new BBTAG but not a RWVY game I think bbtag looks cool but not rwby I've never watched nor cared to. I do like Akatsuki Blitzkampf tho
Or we can easily have it be set several years in the future(aka in the Garou portion of the FF/AOF timeline) and have Yuri, and Robert's child(don't care if it's a son or daughter) be the lead hero, or heroine as like in the KOF series Robert with Takuma and Ryo's blessing finally proposed to Yuri and she said yes and they got married with Yuri using some of the Garcia wealth to start her fitness club which she's allowing Ryo and Marco to train in along with their students to train in after the dojo they were training in got destroyed. Plus considering Robert's wealth and status as the heir to the Garcia Foundation and various corporations under it, and the huge target on him, Yuri, and Ryo's backs that the various crime syndicates have placed after the events of the 3 games it wouldn't be surprising if Robert, and Yuri personally taught their son or daughter Kyokugen Karate as a means to defend himself, or herself so having a AOF 4 with Robert and Yuri's child as the main protagonist is plausible and feasible.
Yeah actually i would like a fourth entry and this time they can introduce Fatal Fury characters at their youngets days like Jeff Bogard, Krauser, Cheng or even a teenagers Terry and Andy
With Mori gone, I think the only way Arcsystems can salvage Blazeblue is to create a sequel to Blazeblue: Cross Tag Battle. It seems ridiculous because Mori also headed that game, but because it is a crossover fighting game with characters from multiple different franchises and isn't just strictly a Blazeblue game with just Blazeblue characters. I feel like Arcsystems could easily find another game director who has experience creating these types of games and they'll probably do just fine. They can still add the Blazeblue characters and maybe even more of them so that fans of that series can be happy. BBTAG is one of those games for me that SHOULD get a sequel, but I have a feeling that will never happen. The game went through too many controversies and made way too many mistakes. There were balancing issues, lack of update after the 2.0 version, and many many other problems that stopped BBTAG from being great. The only reason why I crave a sequel is because I feel with the right game director, they could perfect it for a new generation. Also, it will probably be the only game that will have a wider, causal audience being exposed to the Under Night In Birth characters outside of their own game. Picked up UNI2 in February and about five or six months later, NO ONE is playing the damn thing. Literally the biggest disappointment for a game I have played in a long time. At least if there was a sequel to BBTAG, more people will at least know who these characters are and that's something I really want out of a BBTAG sequel as well.
To be fair, with how the story ended in BB:CF, the franchise is already perfectly set up for someone else taking over. It's essentially open to be a brand new world, with just some legacy characters hanging around.
@@utarefson9 It honestly depends on how it's done. If it's a new, Blazblue game with brand new characters. I think that would really turn people away since creating new characters in a different universe hasn't been established in the series prior. It's a tricky medium trying to pull that off unless somehow, these new characters are related to the old ones. Video games like Xenoblade Chronicles, Danganronpa, and Fire Emblem have the 'replacing the old characters' thing pretty much established, which is why fans of those games are more open to it. To create a brand new world/characters in the Blazblue series is like taking the biggest gamble ever and for ArcSystems, it's probably not a safe one. Look what happened to my boy Dante in DMC: Devil May Cry. It's suppose to be a different iteration of Dante...but a very unlikable one at that. So there is also that risk of Blazblue ruining their own legacy characters if not given to the right person. For now, I think ArcSystems continuing to create fighting game cross overs with their legacy characters is there best bet. It's safe, people won't get too mad about it and they don't have to focus on a robust story. God knows that shit didn't work with BBTAG, so just up everything else for the potential sequel and we should be good for now.
- Fate/Unlimited Codes: Not FUC specifically but just a Fate fighting game. There have been rumors that French Bread wanted to make a Fate/Grand Order fighting game but Type-Moon insisted on them making a Tsukihime tie-in and that's why Melty Blood Type Lumina has multiple FGO characters in its roster, because they already HAD those ideas in the development staff's minds but had to pivot. Another thing is that Ono Yoshinori is currently working AT the developer in charge of Fate/Grand Order and he isn't seeming to be doing that much. With FGO's roster of hundreds of Servants, you could easily make a great roster (although given Type-Moon's choices of roster in spinoff games that's a gamble) - Kamen Rider Climax Heroes. A JP only IP but Shout Factory has been giving Kamen Rider an official Western release to some extent and "JP only" hasn't stopped some other franchises. Climax Heroes has a following and it's made by Eighting so it's certainly got a lot of potential to be interesting. The franchise transitioned from a 3d fighter to an arena fighter and so it hasn't had a "traditional" fighting game since Wizard - with the upcoming Gavv taken into account that's TWELVE full Kamen Rider series that could be sourced for the next game. Very unlikely to happen and as a Kamen Rider fan I would personally prefer to see a new Battride War game but a return to the fighting game would also be welcome.. I think for "Something Vs. Capcom" that basically any Shounen magazine would make sense. Capcom usually doesn't do licensing with manga companies and they are a bit of a complicated legal matter since Bandai and Konami usually get those licenses but I think that of the three major Shounen magazines in Japan (Jump, Sunday, Weekly) that any one of them would have a roster that would be really easy and interesting to crossover with Capcom. While the two smaller magazines have less aggressive marketing and video game presence than Jump that's a perfect reason why they could outsource to a studio like Capcom to advertise their IPs, there's probably less legal hoops to get a solid roster than what would be needed to go for Jump.
@@glacierwolf2155. To be fair, it's kind of ingrained into their own culture, so to speak; Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. (For better AND for worse, naturally.)
They need to do Slam Masters, but it needs to be the flavor of Slam Masters 1, which was very much a wrestling game with fighting game aspects, rather than Slam Masters 2/Ring of Destruction, which was a fighting game with wrestling aspects. There would be just enough overlap, but not enough to cut into what Street Fighter does. At the very least, we should see a Slam Masters char in 6.
Thorgi: “I don’t think there should be a new Art of Fighting, just let the characters live on in Fatal Fury.” SNK: *Announces a brand new Art of Fighting game literally the very next day*
I have to ask. Is there a definitive version of "Darkstalkers 3" available? One that has all the characters from "Vampire Savior 1 & 2"? Maybe with selectable variants of stages? Selectable musics? All the bonus characters from the Console versions, Marionette and Shadow? While keeping The framerate from the arcade versions? AND The "Dee Exclusive Content" from "Vampire Darkstalkers Collection"? If we got that with online AND a toogable button between Original Pixel Arts AND HD Redrawn from Udon... Hell... Make it and call it: "Darkstalkers : The ULTIMATE Lord of Vampire HD" and we'd have the definitive version of this game!
I guess Capcom does see the need for more Darkstalkers then they have both a Resident Evil and Devil May Cry for games with a dark atmosphere. It reminds me of the Twilight episode the obsolete man.
I'd like to see how the Street Fighter clones of the 90s (e.g. Fighter's History, Breakers Revenge) could be adapted. Other than that, a new Pipeworks Godzilla fighting game.
For Last Blade, I think they should do a spiritual successor with the same name, BUT set it in a different scenario. Imagine getting the Last Blade characters reimagined in a sci-fi setting, or modern urban alternate present with the samurai class still alive, or set it during the Meiji restoration, or add steampunk elements... Try to find ways to make Last Blade DIFFERENT from Samsho
GODDAMNIT!! I wish I was on this stream, as I'm watching this sooo many ideas popped into my head Tobal, Rumble Roses, War Gods, Fighting (EX) Layer, SNK Gal fighters. (Most of these I would put in "Let the Characters Live On," but still.) Edit: Also you could put pretty much every non Mortal Kombat Midway franschise Fighting Game under "Let the Characters Live On." Like I think people are getting exhausted over MK's whatever is popular at the time style of Guests characters, but I think people would be hype to Nostalgia guests like Vallah from War Gods, or Deimos from Mace the Dark Ages, or even adapt their non fighting game games like put Nick Scryer from Psi Ops into Mortal Kombat
Along with a Primal Rage reboot I'm down for a War Gods reboot that has a cinematic story mode that has Vallah the Viking Goddess of Ice and Justice as the canonical lead heroine and yeah NRS would have Vallah be the canonical lead heroine of the cinematic story mode of this War Gods reboot mostly due to the fact that during the marketing of the OG War Gods both in the arcade, and home consoles NRS back then Midway was heavily pushing Vallah to be the poster girl and canonical lead heroine/central main protagonist of the game. So it wouldn't surprise me if we get a War Gods reboot and the announcement trailer shows Vallah kicking the ass of one of the villainous deities of the roster complete with Vallah narrating how her and many others didn't ask to be transformed from mortals into deities via the "mysterious ore that fell from the sky" but it happened and nothing can change that so now she and those who ally with her will use their newfound deity status and the powers such a transformation brings to protect the innocent and deliver justice and for some vengeance to those who would misuse their newfound power and deity status to threaten the lives of the innocent with the announcement trailer ending with after Vallah's narration about what led to these events she finishes off the villainous deity whose ass she was kicking with a fatality either her Viking Funeral Pyre Fatality from the OG release or a new fatality that plays on either the fact she's now a winged Viking Goddess aka a Valkyrie basically another Viking themed fatality or a new ice attribute fatality to play on the plot point about how one of the aspects she now represents as a Viking Goddess/Valkyrie is the element of Ice to basically reveal that Vallah is of course War Gods' poster girl and the story mode's canonical lead central heroine.
Honestly, I think a good way to differentiate Last Blade from Samurai Shodown is to put the former into a sort of fantastical alt history take on the decline of feudal Japan (mid 19th Century or so) rather than the often romanticized classic Feudal Japan that Shodown goes for. That way the series gets to come back while also providing room for experimentation in the gameplay, narrative, art direction, etc. (Basically a version of the Boshin War that not only never really ends, but gets out of hand VERY fast. This would also allow for a unique cast of characters and some crazy potential for the story as well as stages.) Besides, a weapon based fighting game set during the decline of Feudal Japan? If anyone can think of such a game that already exists, let me know because I can't think of any examples. Edit: Thorgi, I hope you're seeing this comment.
@@OccuredJakub12. Heh heh. Great minds think alike, it seems. I WOULD talk about what characters from the previous games may look like in this kind of setting, but, sadly, I don't know enough about the story and characters of Last Blade to form any concrete ideas in regards to personality or motivations, let alone backstory or movesets. (Though at least one of them would likely be dressed in more Western attire, which was a real thing that was happening in Japan during the mid 19th Century: Some of the samurai that stuck around prior to the Boshin War dressed more to reflect the attire of British, French, and American soldiers. You can look up some old paintings and photos if you don't believe me.)
Hot take: we don't need persona arena, we need SMT ARENA, and have the p6 protagonist the nahobino from smt v and demi-fiend from smt nocturne ACTUALLY a make the roster for a smt all star game would be a great idea for a video!!!
16:44 You know damn well if someone was greedy and arrogant enough they would Rebrand 'THE REAL BLAZBLUE 5' as Timeline 2, and a 'New Arc' for an Experiment and a 'Fresh Start' with some returning Characters with a new Threat by Carl Clover or something.
The could do that or the could make crosstag semi cannon and have the key stone responsible for some or all of the events of the new game or it could be what the world looks like after rangas death or it could be set in a alternate timeline we have seen before or it could take place before the bb realty was created and in the of one or pre/during dark war
2:08 I have a contender for this. Its called Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist. And it very well won't be having a direct sequel, but should have a 'spiritual successor'. Its the most perfect combination of manga faithful character models, visuals and wackiness combined seamlessly with real-life simulation style fighting mechanics. You have to try it to believe it. Hand-to-hand, close quarters combat focused, manga-adapted anime series on Netflix like Kengan, Baki, Garouden are getting mainstream. And it'll only be sooner when someone with braincells will think about making a video game about them. And it would only be appropriate to step in and show them the afformentioned game I mentioned before they make a ‘Baki X Kengan’ game. It doesn't have to necessarily appeal or try to compete with other legacy, triple A fighting game gods like Tekken, Street Fighter or MK. But it just might thrive and maybe even blossom if it tries to be more faithful to the niche the original mangas appealed to..
Just learned of Power Instinct. I heard of it here in America and it was on SNES i vaguely recall but apparently it just kept on going in Japan for nearly 2 decades. My interest is now peeked. Makes it worth time and attention if it survived that long Thorgi.
Also Beast Boy. We have Animalities in MK1 now and Reptile transforms into... Reptile Mid attack animations. They can abso-fucking-lutely do Beast Boy now.
Man I'm just waiting for that Street Fighter 5 retrospective. It's crazy I commented on this like a week ago, and the very next video was a street fighter retrospective.
46:56 Pyschic Force is one of my favourite fighting games. I bought the Dreamcast back then because of its sequel, PF 2012, which introduced some new characters. I've been loooooonging to have a reboot, remastered, collection or new game.
31:45 imo if a new *Godzilla* size / *Kaiju* fighting game comes out that *King Of Monsters* monsters should live on to be present until collection release
I’ve been thinking about that idea for a new Rival Schools game and honestly, as much as I love fighting games, the idea presented here gets me way more excited than a new fighting game ever could
1:00:57 Besides Pyschic Force, Stars Gladiators and SG 2 are my favourites , too. There should be a reboot, remastered, etc. Period. And one of the characters, Hayato, is a playable characters in MvS 2.
FIGHTERS HISTORY. I kept hoping it get remembered. World Heroes was my other and it was. But yea. I believed Fighters History deserved to at least get your "Let The Characters Live On" treatment. Same as World Heroes. But as you said, as characters in King Of Fighters. A team representation would do.
I was happy SamSho got a new release a few years back. (That was my big wish). I also see a lot of potential for Bloody Roar to get a reboot. That had a surprisingly robust story for fighting games in that decade
I would love to see a sequel to World Heroes simply because of its brilliant premise. There is so much you could do with the idea of a fighting game with characters based on different time periods and historical figures. They could make characters that take inspiration from the stone age, wild west, Vlad The Impaler, Cleopatra, Greek Spartans, Shakespeare, and I could go on.
Easy answer is Blazblue remake. That's the best way to bring it back. The same characters, and add a few more, ect. but retool the story just enough to make it easier to follow(and be able to make into an open ended continuing franchise).
So as one of the 5 people who remember the Sammy vs Capcom announcement, I asked Seth Killian about it, he said it got announced way too soon before pen was put to paper. Wonder how it would have possibly changed the course of Guilty Gear and SF moving forward.
There does need to be another Slammasters to showcase the classic characters and then throw in the likes of R. Mika and Zangief. Then the continuity of the timeline eventually leads to Slammasters characters like The Scorpion, Gunloc, Oni, El Stingray, and Alexander The Grater into Street Fighter.
Well, since SEGA is giving Eternal Champions it's newest game since 1994 (did you not get the news on that, Thorgi), and since Capcom & Marvel Games are putting out the MvC Fighting Collection this year, I couldn't think of a better time to ask this question myself. Here are my choices! *Ragnagard. I know, far-out there, the game wasn't very popular, and Saurus and System Vision... likely don't exist anymore. But it was popular enough to get onto Wii Virtual Console in October of 2011! *Sengoku Basara. I'm just going to say this right now - Capcom and ArcSys should do another collab. *A new Sonic fighting game. Does it not count? Obviously. Sonic started out as a platformer series. But that series grew popular enough to spawn two fighting games that still see tournament play to this day, so yeah, we're overdue for a third.
Talking about Capcom making a versus fighter with another company.... What if there was another timeline where Capcom partnered with DC comics instead of Marvel? How would their rooster look like throughout the ages?
I'd like a BlazBlue all in one collection, remaster-thing, where it compiled everything from all the games while including a bunch of new and modern features. (No shortening the story or cutting out gag routes and stuff either. All of it!)
i fpund you through your king of fighters video and started watching your others came to realize you only have 86k subs which actually blew my mind ....your naration editing is of someone of at least 100s of thousand of subs at least if not in the millions ...im shocked ...makes me very wary to start youtube at 45 if after 6 years you dont have 100k subs when your vids are pretty awsome i wouldn't know where to start ... but keep it up your vids are awesome hopefully you'll be at a mil soon
8:11 What I really want is for Omega (the boss character who was revealed way back in the introduction trailer) to be added to the game! I've always wanted her to be added to the game ever since I saw her in that trailer... Do the Arcana Hearts games really have a large following? I always thought it was one of those niche, underground series that only a small group of people in the know had heard of... (Or be like me and discover through TH-cam)
Arcana Hearts base is probably bigger in Asia is what id guess. But still, is known enough here to have that tier of "less popular than SF obv but a few tiers above the ones even a fg nerd couldn't list off memory" over here lol. Being actually really fun helps.
15:18 The game sitting at make a sequel at that moment is important enough to be nominated for a sequel? I never heard a thing about this one game. But Toshinden, especially 1 and 2, are the games that got me deeply invested in fighting games ever since. No fighting game history for me without Toshinden. No. Shame on you.
We can always use a new Persona Arena. It’s not like it takes away from developing a mainline Persona game. Atlus will not release a game until it’s done. Look at P5, look at SMT5, Metaphor,
Eternal Champions 3 was in development for the Saturn and was so far in development that it was advertised on the back of some Sega Saturn boxes but it ended up getting cancelled. There were technically 2 spin-offs in the series called Chicago Syndicate and X-Perts.
I would love one as well especially since it means we can follow up on the canonical ending of Power Stone 2 which is Falcon's ending basically "spoiler alert" Falcon after defeating the main villain of 2 and possibly destroying the Dark Stone for good ends up along with Valgas being buried alive in that temple that was starting to crumble and fall apart ending on a bittersweet cliffhanger as yeah the day is saved again but possibly at the cost of Falcon's life with it being hinted that he's possibly still alive and potential love interest the Arabic pyrokinetic fortune telling treasure hunter Rouge going on a quest to find him and discovered what exactly happened to him after the temple incident if he did indeed survive.
I needed it since i first fell in love with gaming through power stone 2. And he's right, it doesnt have to be some huge modern fg formula thing with a huge budget and near decade of content feeding. Just make a fun game (that can be technical enough for a competitive scene to naturally grow on its own) with a few new characters and stages (some dynamic like 2, others more like 1) Shit, i say don't even change the artsyle, just do the Naomi;Dreamcast aesthetic but like, HD-er lol.
I totally agree that you don't *need* Marvel for a Capcom VS series. Capcom vs Sega would be amazing, and I'll always say doing Capcom vs Sega vs Bamco as a 3v3 fighter (since they made 2 Project X Zone games) would be phenomenal, have tons of appeal, crazy characters, and do really well.
Fighting games not on this list that DEFINITELY deserve a sequel: -Super Climax Heroes. -Heritage For The Future(Jojo Fighting game with only one part represented. Probably Part 1 or 2, or a redo of Part 3 with new What If scenarios) -Dragon Knight(Yes. I am splitting up Kamen Rider Dragon Knight from Climax Heroes. A Climax Heroes sequel does NOT need the whole cast of Ryuki represented, and the 13 riders would already make a great fighting game cast on their own. I could even see them doing Ryuki vs. Geats.) -Not technically a fighting game, but Kurohyou could EASILY be made into a full-blown Yakuza fighting game. All the characters gathered into an arena, having to fight their way to freedom. -There WAS a Project X Zone fighting game in the works, apparently, but it was canned, and I want to see that idea revived with all the obscure Namco, Sega, and Capcom characters. Having Vyse from Skies of Arcadia fight against Ruby from MVC2 would be INCREDIBLE, or Captain Commando vs. the Time Crisis or Virtua Cop MCs. -Also, I would love just a Pixel-Remaster or HD-2D type remake for Last Blade 1 and 2. widescreen, 1080p, and other modernizations past just emulation. Edit: Persona Q Arena. Just make it a general Persona crossover game, not just P5 Arena.
Idea Build The Roster for a Sonic fighting game Base Roster: Sonic Tails Knuckles Amy Cream Shadow Rouge E-123 Omega Espio Vector Blaze Silver Jet Dr. Eggman Metal Sonic Zavok DLC 1 (Adventure Pack) E-102 Gamma Big Tikal Chaos DLC 2 (IDW Pack) Whisper Tangle Kit Surge DLC 3 (Villain Pack) Infinite Black Doom Starline Mephiles DLC 4 (Sega Pack) Nights Arle Nadja Jack Frost Sonic (Movie)
I'd replace Tikal with Charmy due to you-know-who and to complete the Chaotix crew. Also, what about the Babylon Rogues, the remaining members of the Deadly Six, the Rookie, or Sticks?
@@X2011racerYou can make an argument for Sticks and the Babylon Rouges (I can definitely see Jet being playable with the other 2 being part of his move set), but charmy and the other deadly 6 members I doubt ppl will have an issue of them not being playable. I have Tikal in DLC 1 bc she along with Gamma, Big and Chaos debuted in Sonic Adventure 1. Hence the name of the pack
43:19 We need a New Def Jam, and the roster must have K-Dot, Drake, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, 2Pac, Biggie and the final boss must be Diddy 🤣🤣🤣 58:59 We also have Abgail 1:04:58 What about DC vs Capcom? Or Street Fighter vs Justice League? Dragon Ball Z vs Street Fighter? 🤔
Saying Art of Fighting shouldn't come back because people would be confused with the story is like saying Fatal Fury shouldn't come back because people would be confused why Terry looks so different when he's older or whatnot. Is also underselling one of their most important IPs, can't agree with the take here and as a massive fan of AOF's characters and the games, especially 2, one of the best SNK games, yeah, I'm happy Art of Fighting is coming back, haha! CotW hype train is real, but when the new AOF is shown I'm going to be losing my mind, haha. Gouketsuji Ichizoku/Power Instinct also has to come back, haha. Whether it's a collection or a sequel. Morrigan is the Captain Falcon of Capcom. That being most well known in fighting crossovers while their franchise is basically dead.

Also the only Nintendo game (at the moment) that seemingly uses Rollback netcode.
it has lore? i played it and didn't know that
@@professorwizard8916 I believe there were character bios, and they also released little tid bits leading up to launch. For instance, there was a post detailing how those stricken with these types of arms couldn't really use them properly until a scientist invented a mask that allowed them to control them, even letting them form into normal arms and hands again.

You sir need to get a job at SNK. I would play the hell out of this

It feels weird not seeing DOA, I never played it but I used to see videos of it on YT randomly and now I find anymore

Out of the big IP fighters, Sonic The Fighters or Sonic Battle need to get a modern sequel and then we'd be cooking

Soul Calibur though.
Virtua Fighter is likely to comeback though
@@niemand7811 1. Soul Calibur is also dead. SC6 flopped and the future of the series is looking grim.

1:02:29 Everything you wanted for Tekken Tag Tournament is how Dead or Alive treated the mode in the past. People don't even remember it anymore, despite having quite fun 2v2 fights in the vein of 2XKO.

Hell, Red Earth can be a Roguelike Brawler/Beat-em-up
My ideas for sequels to obscure fighting games:
* BBTAG, because it deserves a second chance
* Karate Champ, because I think it might be pretty cool to see a sequel to one of the trailblazers of the FG genre.
* Heavyweight Champ, for the same reasons as Karate Champ.
* Fighting Fury on the PS2, aka. the Baki fighting game
* Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist, since a Garouden anime is already out.
I think a new Yie Ar Kung Fu might be interesting.

I want an Art of Fighting 4 with Yuri as the main character.
During SNK's developer panel, I heard they were planning on developing a new Art of Fighting game and a new SamSho action RPG in the future.
I’m always so happy to get a new, LONG Thorgi vid lol
Hello Thorgi! Today is my 20th Birthday! Nice for you to post a video on my b day! ❤😊
Rival Schools, Darkstalkers, Soul Calibur to name a few
- Fate/Unlimited Codes: Not FUC specifically but just a Fate fighting game. There have been rumors that French Bread wanted to make a Fate/Grand Order fighting game but Type-Moon insisted on them making a Tsukihime tie-in and that's why Melty Blood Type Lumina has multiple FGO characters in its roster, because they already HAD those ideas in the development staff's minds but had to pivot. Another thing is that Ono Yoshinori is currently working AT the developer in charge of Fate/Grand Order and he isn't seeming to be doing that much. With FGO's roster of hundreds of Servants, you could easily make a great roster (although given Type-Moon's choices of roster in spinoff games that's a gamble)
- Kamen Rider Climax Heroes.
I'll vote for Rival Schools, Darkstalkers and Virtua Fighter.

I need a new Darkstalkers real bad.
FIGHTERS HISTORY!? LFG!
Did you end up seeing my comment?
GODDAMNIT!! I wish I was on this stream, as I'm watching this sooo many ideas popped into my head Tobal, Rumble Roses, War Gods, Fighting (EX) Layer, SNK Gal fighters. (Most of these I would put in "Let the Characters Live On," but still.)
Edit: Also you could put pretty much every non Mortal Kombat Midway franschise Fighting Game under "Let the Characters Live On." Like I think people are getting exhausted over MK's whatever is popular at the time style of Guests characters, but I think people would be hype to Nostalgia guests like Vallah from War Gods, or Deimos from Mace the Dark Ages, or even adapt their non fighting game games like put Nick Scryer from Psi Ops into Mortal Kombat
Itd be rally nice if they made a DC gane but not specifically injustice
They should make a new Darkstalkers without Morrigan in the base roster as a power move.
Watch them charge a DLC at the price of a full game to add her because they know we’ll buy it
Also, include the cast of Red Earth/Warzard in there, as well.
It wouldn't be DarkStalkers without her.
Felicia as the main character capcom would already have my money
NO, even if Darkstalkers is that cool!
This would also allow for a unique cast of characters and some crazy potential for the story as well as stages.)
Besides, a weapon based fighting game set during the decline of Feudal Japan? If anyone can think of such a game that already exists, let me know because I can't think of any examples.
Edit: Thorgi, I hope you're seeing this comment.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 dang I didn't see your comment at first but yeah, funny coincidence XD
@@dragonbornexpress5650 This kinda idea would give the name "The Last Blade" a pretty fitting meaning
Hot take: we don't need persona arena, we need SMT ARENA, and have the p6 protagonist the nahobino from smt v and demi-fiend from smt nocturne
ACTUALLY a make the roster for a smt all star game would be a great idea for a video!!!
Its called
Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist.
Next Year Do These Build The Rosters Please
1)Sega Vs Capcom
2)Cartoon Network Punchtime Explosion 2
3)Transformers Fighting Game
Just learned of Power Instinct. I heard of it here in America and it was on SNES i vaguely recall but apparently it just kept on going in Japan for nearly 2 decades. My interest is now peeked. Makes it worth time and attention if it survived that long Thorgi.
if a injustice 3 come one day it need to have Zatanna, John constantine and Etrigan in it
Yes, Zatanna & Constantine deseve to be in a ffuture Injustice fight game.
There was a cancelled Clayfighter revival that was supposed to release in 2010 on the Wii and DS.
46:56 Pyschic Force is one of my favourite fighting games. I bought the Dreamcast back then because of its sequel, PF 2012, which introduced some new characters. I've been loooooonging to have a reboot, remastered, collection or new game.
All of them. All of them do.
31:45 imo if a new *Godzilla* size / *Kaiju* fighting game comes out that *King Of Monsters* monsters should live on to be present until collection release
I’ve been thinking about that idea for a new Rival Schools game and honestly, as much as I love fighting games, the idea presented here gets me way more excited than a new fighting game ever could
SHREK SUPERSLAM 2 HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOO
Some...BODY-
Oh nooo Shreeeek, please don't slam me in my souuuuup
@@Asher-oo4bb ALEX THE LION, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN THIS GAME?!?!?!?
1:00:57 Besides Pyschic Force, Stars Gladiators and SG 2 are my favourites , too. There should be a reboot, remastered, etc. Period. And one of the characters, Hayato, is a playable characters in MvS 2.
Can't wait for the new darkstalkers that will be announced at EVO
Also, a video on what games deserves prequels
Sonic the Fighters and TMNT are two niche ones.
Weaponlord too
I came for the thumbnail.
SNK VS. CAPCOM SVC CHAOS just released on steam.
You got your wish!!
All of it!)
Agreed heavily. And gag reels are defintiely a page outta Blazblue's book id like to see in more FGs that do story similarly.
English VA addition to CF lol
I'm surprised Thorgi didnt mention that Akatsuki is a character in the Under Night series and that he and Blitztank were in BBTAG
There's also a Melty Blood Character, but we got a new MB game a few years ago (ironically excluding said Guest character).
i just want Akatsuki to get actual English release bc only being able to read the story through fan translations on wikis sucks
i fpund you through your king of fighters video and started watching your others came to realize you only have 86k subs which actually blew my mind ....your naration editing is of someone of at least 100s of thousand of subs at least if not in the millions ...im shocked ...makes me very wary to start youtube at 45 if after 6 years you dont have 100k subs when your vids are pretty awsome i wouldn't know where to start ... but keep it up your vids are awesome hopefully you'll be at a mil soon
I can accept your answer for Blazblue. Just give me a new Blazblue
Please arc system works I need more blazblue
Been waiting for a mace the dark age sequel for 26 years. I’m still holding out hope
19:30-Problably Capcom will make a Capcom vs SNK fighting collection. For what is going on right know, i won't be surprised.
This aged well.
I think you forgot... Pokken tournament... please remember this game, it needs it, it deserves it.
And Weaponlord and Sonic the fighters
You do know he added it to the list right?
For me personally, I would LOVE a new Power Stone.
Just make a fun game (that can be technical enough for a competitive scene to naturally grow on its own) with a few new characters and stages (some dynamic like 2, others more like 1)
Shit, i say don't even change the artsyle, just do the Naomi;Dreamcast aesthetic but like, HD-er lol.
Darkstalkers easily!
Fighting games not on this list that DEFINITELY deserve a sequel:
-Super Climax Heroes.
-Heritage For The Future(Jojo Fighting game with only one part represented. Probably Part 1 or 2, or a redo of Part 3 with new What If scenarios)
-Dragon Knight(Yes. I am splitting up Kamen Rider Dragon Knight from Climax Heroes. A Climax Heroes sequel does NOT need the whole cast of Ryuki represented, and the 13 riders would already make a great fighting game cast on their own. I could even see them doing Ryuki vs. Geats.)
-Not technically a fighting game, but Kurohyou could EASILY be made into a full-blown Yakuza fighting game.
Some need a collection then a sequel
20:49 Thorgi: There should be a Mech Fighter!!!
Gundam's 2-D Fighting Games and Gundam EXTREME VS: Am I a Joke to you?

DLC 4 (Sega Pack)

Sonic (Movie)
43:19 We need a New Def Jam, and the roster must have K-Dot, Drake, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, 2Pac, Biggie and the final boss must be Diddy 🤣🤣🤣
58:59 We also have Abgail
1:04:58 What about DC vs Capcom?
Only a quarter into thte video so don't know if that's mentioned, don't see it on the thing but that series could hold a whole ass retrospective, it's crazy!
I know a lot of people think Tier Lists are lazy content but they will never not be entertaining to me.
