I have the X3 RC RR and from what I see so far from the new RZR Pro R looks very impressive. The new suspension up front connecting to the lower arm plus the rear and front arms look more like a mini trophy truck setup than a UTV. All the double sheer stuff is nice to see. I need to take one out over the bumps and see how different it feels. Horsepower I don't really pay too much attention too I'm not skilled enough as a driver to need more than these things deliver stock. N/A vs Turbo I'm sure will be drastically different for power delivery. Overall the competition amongst brands is great for us.
We bought our first S&S, a 2 seater 2021 X3 RR 4 months ago, and we are every happy with it. Sure we need to add some expensive parts to correct the weak spots. Importantly, it fits within our toy hauler size and cargo capacity limits. If we ever want more power in the future, there are many tune kits. I think price, weight, and size will make a huge difference to many people who already have bought expensive trailers and toy haulers. I honestly don't want a bigger heavier car-size beast bouncing in the desert and dunes.
We can't compare this new RZR to the X3 .The RZR is way stronger stock compared to the X3 and it comes more equipped from factory with all new tech which improves its performance and off road capability compare the X3 and that's what you're paying for and it's something which you can run stock for a very long time even if you do hard core off-roading
The comparison is between the two best machines that Polaris and Can Am have to offer. The opinion Can Am doesn’t have a comparable machine doesn’t mean we can’t or shouldn’t compare the best offerings from the two manufacturers. All that means is Can Am needs to step up their game if they want to be considered the best -Dave
While it probably will be an offroad beast with the right tire setup (personally need to have at least 35 inch and the new hubs and arms can probably handle 37 with no mods) it seems to me it was mostly made for competing against the Speed El Jefe as it's the more attune to Sand/Baja runs.
Are they really that comparable with how big the price gap is on them? The base model rzr pro r is 32k which is more then a fully loaded x3 idk hard to say imo
I don't think it has any of those options....I just ordered a 2022 x3 RC RR 72". I'm currently running a 2020 pro premium 2 seater. 3500 miles, zero issue. I'm nervous!!!!
I don't believe the base new rzr has GPS or any of that included but the x3 at the highest price is smart shocks, fully adjustable cab components, depending on the model you'll get bumper, winch, roof, lower doors, 4 point harnesses etc. It's all in what you want. But even with the price gap if all you're looking at is HP number you could stick an exhaust and a tune in the can am and be over what it's Making and have all the other stuff for about the same price point as the base rzr. To each their own though, it is neat. Still looks like a bug to me though ha
Everybody is only talking about horse power to weight ratio of the pro r, but you have to consider the torque that motor is putting out Will help carry that weight.
I don't ride the dunes, or off road racing, as I like the mountain trails. Because of the 74" width, and the heavy weight plus the amount of $$$$$ they cost, I would not be interested.

That said when the fury is ripped apart and rebuilt so compression ratio is brought into boost friendly territory. Then it'll make insane power. Brp has answers to that sitting in other machines currently. I'm excited for the proR and for the push Polaris has made this year. Competition makes all the machines better.
So, what you're saying is buying a Speed for 35k is now the best option on the market. Stock 225hp, best chassis, cage, etc. on the market. Who would want to pay $50k+ for a Polaris?

Well It’s more then 3” shorter and also wheelbase doesn’t tell the whole story. The x3 max is long regardless but it’s terrible when combined with its non existent ground clearance and bad approach and break over angles. The R is longer then other rzrs for sure but it also has a great approach angle and a really high ground clearance so you will not notice the length as much.
We saw that. Wondering if Polaris has mentioned that in the manual. Doesn’t make sense to make design changes for such a random act that so few will or can do. I’ll bet Polaris starts doing demo units again though so the can control the conversation. -Joe
