We operated on all classes of trauma and elective surgeries as well.I lbecame disbled in route to an overseas assignment. [ spent 1.5 years in Army and VA hospitals with severe injuries and perm. disabilites, losing much of right knee structures and one right quad ] After military. I was a science teacher, big pharma rep for many years.and also a Veteran Employment Rep.[ now retired ] 28 years Federal and State Government Veteran service.I will always be a Vet Rep and corpsman/surgery tech My sister is an anesthesiologist,daughter is a neonatal intensive care nurse, stepfather was a Navy surgeon and my younger brother is a retired police detective Lt.[ 20 years service] Thank you also for your law enforcment career as things are now very dangerous on the street..as you will know...God Bless ! I'm a combat medic, I'll forever be 91A, I just could never feel 68W, made me feel some kinda way when they changed it. My deploma says 91A, and it was somewhat of a rarity, a title I earned during a particular year, when 91B in our class meant that soldier was prior service. We did it before internet, before smart phones, depending on our memories and instinct and paying attention. We didn't get much sleep, barely had time to eat. It was the hardest, funnest, exhausting, exhilarating most confidence building, most bonding grueling, proudest, weakest, strongest thing I have done or will ever do. Back when compression ratio was 5:2, & we'd heard rumors about things called face masks/shields, but never seen them, and cadre literally said 'if your casualty pukes in your mouth, turn your head, spit and carry on, he doesn't die because it's gross, you can freak out later. We didn't have dolls, we carried and drew blood and learned IV and put TQ's on each other. We took national registry just like now, but it wasn't a program split into parts for it like now, we learned Army, civilian and Texas medical sop and laws all together and we were confused but we mostly passed that registry, and we didn't find out our test scores until weeks after we had graduated and left. We carried each other, on litters, low crawl, over terrain, over walls, too. And we rocked it like mother humpers, too. I'm a female combat medic, then flight medic, and nurse. I am your doc and I will never leave you behind. If I have to step away, I will ALWAYS come back for you! If you are struggling, email me. I'm your medic and I will come for you. Thank God I'm a soldier medic, clear back to when we were called that, instead of warrior medics, and battle buddies were called ranger buddies. BELIEVE ME THEY HAD A TUFF TIME CROSS TRAINING ME OUT OF PARA-RESCUE AFTER I GOT HURT A FEW TIMES, BUT I STILL REMAINED A MEDIC IN OUR HOSPITAL.
