- Hey everyone !
I'm finally back with another crochet graphghan pattern video. As you might know, getting a graphghan pattern for free is really difficult. There are a lot of apps out there, for the creation of graphghan patterns from a picture. But I discovered this app on Play Store called Wooltasia® which is free and really easy to learn and use. So I thought of making a tutorial video for beginners like me. I hope it's helpful. :)

Thanks !! Actually you can use wool of any thickness...it will just determine the size of your graphghan. Thicker wool will lead to bigger graphghan.

Amazing video Rachana. Many thanks. I am going to trying my first portrait today. I am planning to use Anchor Mercerized knitting cotton with 3mm crochet hook. do you think that would be fine?
Thanks a lot for the wonderful feedback !! This was my first portrait too. To be honest I'm not an expert but I think it's fine to use that, just make sure you use the same type/thickness of wool for all the colours so that the final pattern doesn't get stretched or curved at the edges... :) All the best !!

If you have already started then you continue...if you feel like it's looking good even if it is flipped then good...
Otherwise you may try flipping the picture first before uploading it to the app and then start the crocheting

Wow..thank you so much for introducing me to this app❤..btw i have a doubt..since im a newbie im still learning about this..can i use any yarn with any hook size for the pictures that are converted to pixels??
The pattern doesn't depend on the yarn and hook size. But the final product will depend on them. Bigger hook and thick yarn will make the graphghan very large.
It's better to use large hook with thick yarns and small hook with thinner yarns. In the app there's a thing called sample size. It depicts that how many stitches will be there in a unit square patch suppose 10 cm by 10 cm. So the sample size will also change with the thickness of the yarn and hook. Accordingly the pattern might change.

Its not working for me any picture i upload i cant get a proper outcome for 58×58 like u showed
Yeah it's really difficult to get a proper pattern from a picture pattern with a size of around 60×60...I tried a lot of the sample size, no. of pixels, colour combinations before getting a decent pattern...
Maybe you can mail me the picture and other details and I can try to create a pattern if you want...

Hi, how many pixels do you think I will need to create a sweater. It is not giving me my desired pixels. Don't you think 136×136 pixels is too much?
It depends on how clear you want the pattern to be...I know 136 x 136 is a lot of pixels and will take a lot of time and patience as well...you can reduce the pixels upto 80 x 80 maybe for a sweater but it completely depends on the picture and the number of colours you are using...

You can use online free websites like stitchfiddle.com or myphotostitch.com or stitchboard.com to create the pattern. I am making a landscape project right now using stitchboard. I'll post a video as soon as I finish my work.

The number of pixels will depend on 2 things - the size of the sweater and how detailed you want the pattern to be. The more the pixels the larger and more detailed the pattern will be...somewhere from 80x80 to 120x120 should work I think.

It downloaded the app for this type of projects I won't to create face of my baby but how to start did not get it and how long we need it for wall hanging did not get it
@@rusticyarn it will depend on how big you want your wall hanging...how many colours you want to use for the pattern...more colours and larger pattern will lead to a more detailed graphghan

It might not look that clear in the pattern but it generally looks better in the actual thing after completion...
If you want you could mail me the picture, the size of the pattern that you want in pixels and the colours of wool that you want to use...I could try creating the pattern on the app.

Each box represents just one stitch that is one single crochet :)
