    I'm new to graphgans and just like me, I've done a big no no in crochet world. I'm fairly new to crocheting the right way. I normally design my own projects (I luv to call them bc there's no set pattern) bc I don't know really how to read patterns. I've taught myself how to crochet by watching youtube (Thks to my older 2 kids). I've only been crocheting for 10yrs. I'm very new to graphgans. I'm starting also a tiger graphgan. The question I have is, is it best to start from the bottom to top or top to bottom? I've printed the picture & also in graph form.
    I decided to start from top bc that's what I'm use to doing. Actually it's a redo bc mice chewed holes in the huge blanket I made my mom-in-law the 1st yr I was learning to crochet. To be honest, I went a lot crazy crocheting all sorts of blankets, totes, purses, monkeys lol. Yep and none correctly crocheted haha. So, I've undone everything and washed the yarn & got it ready to start a new blanket. Thks for all advices and anything helpful

    • @WillowCrochet

    My question would be how to do a color change for a single stitch in the middle of your main color. Say you are working with a white background and you need to start your design which begins with a single stitch and then you change back to your white, how do you do that and make it look clean. Mine look terrible.

    thank you, very helpful video. i have a question about the last color change you did where you added the bobbin. how do you know when to carry the yarn and when to use a bobbin? I feel like we carried the orange yarn a lot more than the green. is that because green is a darker color and more visible, so we never want to carry the green? but always carry the orange? or am I missing something?

    • @WillowCrochet
      @WillowCrochet  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You only carry yarn if it can be hidden by stitches which are the same color. Either by carrying it along the top of stitches which are the same color (like at (05:00) or by crocheting over it with yarn that it the same color (like at 03:15). If you look at the point where I added the second green bobbin there was no way for me to carry the the first green yarn across without it passing through a block of orange. I hope that makes sense!

    I have a graphcan where the contrasting color makes a triangle, so it starts with one stitch of the contrasting color, then the next row is 3 stitches, the next five. Particularly in the row with the single stitch of the contrasting color, the stitches look wonky and I can seem to figure out what is going wrong. When I use your method for a longer block, it looks great, but the single stitch is driving me crazy!

      Once you've finished using a colour, cut the yarn leaving a tail and weave in the end. Tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/LyDBYyJJ0dE/w-d-xo.html
