Ever since your fountain video where Aaron said to watch the whole ad to help pay for the pumps (LOL) I have been watching entire ads all the way through. Just so you know, there are some pretty weird ads on TH-cam, but if watching weird stuff will enable you guys to keep this going, then weird ads it is ;)

If you watch enough Garden Answer videos, you'll start to see that annoying Viking pest control ad in the middle of all videos longer than 15 minutes (I think).
The ads differ for everyone. It's based on your history of video interests. Same as YT's recommendations.
Oh, really? I keep getting one about a natural deodorant with people smelling their under arms lol. I don't think I've ever watched anything similar to that! Not on purpose anyway hahaha

I love your zinnias. I can never seem to grow those well. Your arrangement is so cute. Who would have ever thought of tiny green tomatoes in a floral arrangement, but it totally works. It's charming! Russell really likes it. Haha.

Hi there! I just wanted to say that my two year old and I watch all of your videos and he loves you. Whenever we are trying to wind down for the day or before his nap we snuggle on the couch and he asks "Wheres Garden Answerrrr?"
I also wanted to say that we love watching your Christmas/Winter DIY and decorating videos and hope you do a lot more this year. We're planning on doing a Dollar Tree Christmas Tree this year for fun.
Love the idea of sharing, did that in my younger yrs, but gotta get back to that time in my older yrs.
What a gorgeous harvest! And a lovely bouquet... I would've never thought to use green tomatoes (or any vegetable, really) as part of an arrangement but ya know, it makes sense doesn't it? That's how we grow our gardens with a mixture of flowers and veg, so why not showcase them in the same way. Brilliant!
I'm so glad you showed us your harvest. I tried raised bed gardening one year. My husband set them up for me. They consisted of 2 x 4's made into squares on the ground. Just the one layer. Needless to say they didn't produce anything. He threw grass from the lawnmower in them and I ended up with a bunch of weeds. He kept telling me, you can't garden like that. You won't get hardly anything. Soooooo..... I showed him your raised bed garden when you built it and then just now your harvest. He said , looks good and yeah she got a lot of stuff. lol I guess he knows I'm going to try again. lol Loved seeing little Benjamin and Aaron.
Giving to the food bank is a wonderful idea. I had no idea they accepted food from local Gardner’s for reasons of food regulation. Using baby green tomatoes is a charming touch to the flower arrangement. Thanks for sharing your family and your lovely home.

I had to laugh when you talked about back issues of Victoria Magazine. I have many years worth if back issues and also put them out when decorating for seasons.

This time of year can be bittersweet. I'm ready to be done with outside gardens, but have to rush to put everything to bed for winter (put away furniture, containers). For me, January (such a long, slow month after all the earlier holidays) is when I get the urge to garden, but living in MN it'll be five months before I can do so.
I love buttercup squash. My aunt taught me an easy way to bake it since it's so hard and dangerous to cut up.
Place whole squash in a shallow pan (I like using a glass pie plate) in a moderate oven (about 350° F) and bake until it's soft (like pressing on a cushion, her words).
Open it up, scrape out seeds and discard, then scrape out the flesh. It stays so nice and moist.
This can even be done ahead then reheat reserved squash in the oven when ready to serve.

And here I thought I was the only one who had started collecting Victoria magazine in the 80's and keeping them ! And yes the dirt spot appeared during the buttoning up of the hot house. Lol such is life !

I will also button up for colder weather, not ready for winter but I also need to store up some energy for next summer. So I'll spend the day putting away patio furniture, winterizing my Bonsia, setting up a grow light for a few plants I'd like to over winter. I love the simple pleasures of life that you celebrate. A beautiful flower arrangement, plentiful vegetables. We have become such a society of excess and going over the top. When we utilize what we already have, I think it requires more intention and thoughtfulness. It’s a great demonstration that we can still have lovely things and enjoy the things we have.

Great video! Everything is amazing. Your veggie garden... So productive. I have a similar set up, spent a fortune on soil and boxes. Very disappointing. There's always next year right? You are so inspiring. I've grown as a gardener so much watching your videos. Purchased kneeling pads, trimmers, waterers organic fertilizer etc, plants and worked around 20to30+hours a week in my gardens, but don't have the same results as you. Ready for winter, I need a break!

I love that you gave to a food bank, 25 years ago after a car accident I had to use the local food bank for a couple of months and I would have killed for some fresh food. I do wish that food banks would provide recipes or basic instructions on cooking various veg since some people honestly don't know how to prepare fresh squashes and eggplants.
Do you ever get a chance to sit in your garden and enjoy it? That’s the best part and the soul needs to rest and just enjoy life. Take baby outside and just get some sun before it’s to cold. You definitely need a flower cutting garden. Your arrangements always look so beautiful. Ever since your parents garden tour I always keep "romancing the ordinary" in mind and I make a little extra flower arrangements for small spots in my home
I do wish you would do a cutting garden video series as I would love ideas of great flowers to grow. I’m hoping to start my very own cutting garden in the spring and gladiolus are the first flower on my list to plant. :). Unfortunately, I can only think of a couple other plants to grow so I would love your ideas!

@gardenanswer You've really got me motivated to get a proper vegetable garden going next spring. I am big on flowers and shrubs- mainly roses and cottage garden plants. But OMG that harvest is incredible! That is the one thing I love about gardening, there is always something to look forward to. Even resting in winter, cause it gives you time to plan out what you want to do in the next growing season. Love your videos every day and my two kids love to watch you too. My downtime in the garden is summer as it is just too humid, hot and rainy to do very much at all other than mowing and watering (when needed). A break is always welcome specially if you have a large garden.
Delightful video! How DO you keep coming up with such good stuff?! Beautiful produce - so satisfying. Even loved Russell/bed, magazine thing, and your little thoughts on seasons and a quieter time! I live in the country in north western Oregon, and I still look at fall/winter as a quieter time. I just let a lot go in November and do little occaisional cleanups until spring.😉😄
