Stock, they have 227 bhp. The model below the gti-r is a gti with an sr18de fwd with viscous lsd, available in 2 door hatch and 4 door sedan. Still great cars 30 plus years down the track. Nice video!!
@@M-t3ch as standard they are but put the intercooler at the front dump valve on it up the psi you can get 300 bhp and then the car comes alive Smile Every Mile if i had the money i would deffo buy one again very underrated car
@@mrcrazyjonpresents4312 had one around 2006 as well, I remember on mine i put intercooler , intake and catback exhaust and upped the boost to 15psi/1bar. it was quick and one of the most fun cars I've drove to date
@@lilripsta911i was the 3 rd and last person to own the one i had the first person to own it put the psi up to 18 the bottom end shot out of it so it went back to normal Quick car but that was mainly to the type of dump valve it had and a straight through exhaust straight from the turbo
These are fantastic little cars, daily drove one for 5 years in the early 2000s.. Mine kept right up with a Testarossa up to the 155mph limiter. And you can put the back seats down and fit a load in the back
Here's an easy way to remember loose MPH to KPH equivalency on a quick glance: N = first Number in multiples of 12. So the dash reads "20... 40... 60... 80... 100KPH" Now take that first digit "2... 4... 6... 8... 00" And just add a "1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6" in front of it imaginarily and you have the best approximation to your MPH... So now it reads "12(mph reading 20kph on dash)... 24(mph reading 40kph on dash)... 36(mph reading 60kph on dash)... 48(mph reading 80kph on dash)... 60(mph reading 100kph on dash). Voila, you now have the quickest way to reference your speeds all in MPH.
As an owner of one of these I cringe when people refer to it as “baby Godzilla” or “budget GTR” it’s just insulting. It doesn’t need to stand on the shoulders of the skyline. Completely different cars that should be measured by its own merits. It’s a thumbs down from me. 👎
We had to do it for the algorithm click bait 🫣 I do partly agree with your statement. I think this would be better backroad fun than a GTR. I haven't driven one, but from what I've read online, this seems like it is a lot more playful. It's crazy light for being all wheel drive, too. Maybe more comparable to an EVO or STI, but even still it's a lot smaller.
@M-t3ch they have a huge amount of understeer thanks to a heavy front end. They were usually compared with the Mazda GTR,Celica,VR4, the GTIR was just flawed. Then, the Evo 1, WRX battled it out.

It was a lot of fun! For the money it's a pretty solid contender on the weekend driver's list imo.
Sweet little car, my friend has always been a fan of these. Nice video, sir!
They are really fun!
You put a dump valve in it and it will take off i had one of these back in 2004/5 one of the best driving cars i ever owned
That's awesome! It's already pretty quick.

I’d love to drive one, up there with the early evo’s and sti’s
I need to try those too. This was certainly a unique experience. Not many high hp sports cars that only weigh 2700lbs!

That's awesome! It is a fast little car and for what it is.
Nice!! Great sound
The SR20 does have a nice note to it!
I've have one myself for 12 years fully forged 🔰in the uk 450bhp😎👊🏾
That's sweet! I bet that's a ripper.
Hi : Could I ask about the Nissan Sunny GTI-R?
Skyline GTR?
@@M-t3chNar the Sunny Gtir was the Uk variant
Sorry not just uk but the euro models which where lhd as well

@twrcrew8852 Great advice!
Clutch fork probably broke. 92 onwards had a heavier clutch fork
Interesting! Is it worth upgrading?
lol! 19 minutes to select next gear!? hahahaha
I just brought a pulsar gtir
They are fun cars!
@@M-t3ch yeah for sure. I got to try and not blow the gearbox lol
@andrewbarber9607 For real haha. This one was just a clutch for fortunately. Still kinda messed up though.
@@M-t3ch good job it wasn't the gearbox.
Smh never heard of the Pulsar! Come on
I know I know 🙄

Shame they aways handled so poorly compared to the competition.
What would you compare it to? I thought it handled pretty well. It was light on it's feet!

@Oldhex1978 Right on, I'd want to drive those cars too to get that comparison. During 6/10 driving, I didn't really feel the understeer.
@M-t3ch when they let go, they would go in a big way.
Too front heavy and not balanced.
