The thing is: after this "super tactic trades" cait went lower hp than varus at 6:00, loosing advantage and trade 1 varus minion for her own hp. Also the way they stick together after that trade againg fiddle with his crows and that amount skillshots missing is disturbing.
It is indeed good wave management to have the wave pushed to your tower when you want a gank or when you want to avoid a gank, but she did it unintentionally. She focused too heavily on poking instead of leveling up to 2; also, she poked without the assistance of her support by standing on opposite sides of the lane, which allowed the return damage by the creeps and Fiddlesticks. She was forced to concede level 2 and was shoved as a result. Any poke lane in the early match up want to shove because there is no way for the enemy to return poke damage as they are heavily fixated on CS. The Varus was wrong here for not using his mana to shove the wave to the tower to attempt to reset the wave, which would have potentially prevented the Rammus gank. The Varus' greatest individual mistake was standing in open space while trying to CS without his support, costing him over 1/2 of his remaining HP. Additionally, you know that this is low ELO because Varus and Fiddlestick did not remember that Rammus had most likely started red due to the initial cheese play made by Caitlyn and Karma. When any laner shoves, they have the freedom to ward. As a range duo bot, it is imperative that you ward the river and pop the blast cone because you are unable to ward multiple angles. Ridding of the blast cones allow you to use your ward for river and tri-brush. Your analysis was done as an attempt to fill in details rather than identifying the real strengths and weaknesses that allowed this play to come to fruition. The only thing I agree with you on are the goals of a laner: effective wave control, poking when the enemy is going for a creep. This guide doesn't help anyone if they do not possess the auto attack range. You should have definitely done it with a low ranged ADC to show how this is achievable without the proper kit. If you are able to apply these tactics to low ranged ADCs, you are likely to be even more effective with more range and poke.
I was disappointed myself too when I heard him say in platinum elo, even though on the thumbnail it says challenger. Now I am myself a plat player and I know that plat is still really REALLY shitty at the game, especially lower ranks of plat. I also agree with all the points made on this comment. I myself with this comp would try to be one minion ahead of them and attempt a lv 2 q + q cheese while theyre still 1 and cant really trade back.
A poke lane getting level 2 first with that kind of advantage should be GG until first backs. Freezing the wave there is okay if you want to set up a gank, but it could be EASILY read. Freezing the wave there gives you almost no guaranteed poke on the Varus because you have to try not to get shoved into your tower. That allowed the Varus time to heal and it took away ALL of her advantage. If it was purely a 2v2 lane, and that gank was avoided. Caitlyn is actually on the losing end of this lane right now. She should've pushed to level 2, press up on them and force them to back or sit at tower as you zone them. You know there is no threat of a jungler ganking before 4 minutes given their Red -> Blue pathing. If you never got the cheese poke off to begin with, shove the enemy laner in, poke them down, reset the wave and create a zone with the advantage you got from poking them or straight up fight them if they press too ahead. That's how you win without a jungler. Also, I don't know why they would show a challenger vs platinum... which I heavily doubt anyway given the mechanics demonstrated in this video. Why would they not show 2 players who understand the game on a similar level. How would you be able to exploit an equally strong player?
Wow amazing guide, really easy to follow through. Most guides are really long and quite boring and I usually skip some bits but this is exceptional. A channel worth subscribing. Thank You
I love these videos, and this one in particular was very helpful. I would like to see some similar breakdowns for how ADCs can win teamfights, because these dailys always focus on lane phase. I've gotten much better at laning from watching these videos, but now my teamfighting is what is holding me back. Keep up the good work!
This is a great video dude! This just proves my theory as a main adc, i can tell that positioning is the most important skill one should master. Even tho farming, killing and all else are important. You can accomplish all of those just by positioning well. In the long run you get better at those things. I was a platinum player but then i stopped playing at S4. Just coming back to try a rush to diamond (my old dream) but i'm not sure if i'm still capable of such effort bc of time investment.
We hope that you enjoyed this video! While this video is marksman specific, there's a lot of things you can apply to other roles, like using range advantage to your advantage, or the power of wave management. Here's what the rest of the week looks like for SkillCapped's LoL uploads: Tomorrow we're unveiling our very first TH-cam video series - it'll be all about the psychology of being a good player, and a must watch for anyone trying to improve (especially if you have trouble with tilting like I did!) We'll round out the week with one more guide on Friday, but you'll have to wait to find out what that will be ;) Lastly, we want to bring some video attention to roles we haven't covered yet. We want to cover a Top Laner that everyone is loving right now. Put your suggestions in a reply below! C9's new hot shot Licorice, maybe? :P
You should make a guide about ADC laning. This was really good and entertaining laning analize but i personally think that this doesnt help lower level players. Lower lever players need principles. They have their own thoughts of the game but those are wrong thats why they are in lower brackets. I think it is possible to make a 10min long guide about how to actually snowball out of control as adc mentioning only principles. Basic stuff like always try to harass enemy when they want to last hit, always try to push because that wins you the lane, ward when you push, freezen when you pushed in but have no wards when you get the bot tower go mid to transfer your advantage to your team etc. Also i think you shoul list the learned things at the end of the video as a fast recap. And one last thing. You keep forgeting to mention in every single adc video the importance of lvl2. In this game they go for an earlygame harass but this really shouldnt be the standard. On bot with karma cait you should both cast your first spells on the minionwave and should not skip any autoattack making sure you hit first lvl2. (on lower levels ppl actually dont know about this and you can hit lvl2 faster every game doing a huge trade after that. you can push in after and freeze and snowball out of control step by step and you dont need to be any good at the micros just knowing these standard macro stuff.) To sum up tl;dr: You should make a guide about adc laning principles, you should summerize your content and last but really not least you should not skip the botlane race for lvl2.
3:13 this option she took to go in brush is terrible because if Fiddle went down together with his adc, it's likely all 4 bounces would hit cait/karma unless one of them chose to be trapped alone behind enemy minions (basically die or flash).
Hey great video guys ^^ Thank you for the good advices! But could you make a video about how to win a lane with a disadvantage? Like could you show how a vayne has to play in order to win vs a lane bully vs miss fortune?
Muddragon no cause if she traps one of them she can’t double headshot combo also if she gets ganked there is no escape unless she wants to waste a flash
When the lane looks so easily gankable by the enemy jungler, any jungler with IQ above 0 would go help bot lane either push the wave to the turret or hover bot to match the rammus gank. These scenarios are very specific but as far as wave management goes it's right.
To be fair, if Fiddle came around WITH Varus that cheese would have been an awful idea, as they set themselves up to be decimated by a crow bouncing between two of them...
Guy needing 5 million games to reach gold playing solo q stompers calling others trash, thats pretty funny Why you even callin yourself diamond, lol. Even if decayed its questionable Q didnt matter cause mana regen (yes, its on cd, but thats worse than getting caught), ward was a bit questionable tho, but blame karma for not Qing. Stagger was indeed unfortunate, but again, karma had to move away when fiddle E'd. Cait try to avoid bounces. So basically her only real mistake was canceling her AA, she shoulda just hoped for karma to move, ye, such huge mistakes. You obviously can't play AD, so why you judging others.
1. Q'ing brush was the right option, as she didnt know if the enemy laners were trapping her 2. warding the second was the right option for the same reason 3. trading this auto attack was fine, as she would have still been hit by fiddle 4. Caitly is a challanger player, its always extremly easy to judge people by replays
Varus started w and didn't use any mana to shove in the wave after he got lvl 2. Even though this is on an old patch( looks like pre-nerf caitlyn) and at the time cait + karma were unbeatable, they almost lost the lane lvl 1 right after the initial poke because they took too much themselves + lost the early push. Instead they should've: 1- committed of fully pushing varus out of the lane or getting a kill, 2- committed only for q +aa each and backed off immediately. In this particular game cait karma won only because fid varus were completely clueless what to do.
Hey douchebag Ralph why even watch the video :/ Just know your comment is a reflection of this toxic community. Caitlyn gained lane control by using the brush to her advantage which ultimately led to her winning lane. Why on earth you’re so bothered by expending resources like a q and a ward to gain a +600 gold advantage shows you don’t know wtf you talking about dude. Stay in your lane.
Try to break the freeze, and sustain out via pots/FF. Don't greed out for every minion - Cait needs an advantage because her power is early and very late. She needs to be ahead from lane, otherwise she's behind [dreadfully] power wise. Exitting lane 20 cs and 0 kills behind, after 15 minutes to cait [even if u lose a tower] is totally fine. Lastly, in lower ELO's, no cait is gonna do this. They will attempt to push and harass, not freeze and harass. Either you play a champ like sivir and outpush her, or you simply try to freeze near your tower, and then all in for ganks - cait is very easy to gank.
Also, i know what could be the resources that you can get besides the fast push hitting quickly the minions (like after doing it, go to put deep wards, that helps more in scrims btw. but you don't necessarily have to do it, if the enemy jg started at red side like in this video) but it should be good if you guys can clear out the next time and make more insight in that strategy, because there are a lot of people that actually do it, and they don't know why they do that, maybe for instinct.
Joel Paul currently those passive support have lower chances to win. So just carry for a while until you get a game where aggressive type of support is with you. Dont worry. It will happen ... Higher elo with higher elo. 😂
I’m a plat support, but I think most things you talked about are obvious, what level of players benefit from this? And I also think the supports in this video did not have any impact tbh.
What should I do when my support does never let me freeze or manage the wave no matter what I do? It usually goes well when I'm top lane, but I can't do that on bot side as my support starts to hit minion and break the freeze. P.S: I'm silver with low mechanics, mediocre knowledge.
Yeah, that varus played pretty well, if i was him i would have be so pissed at fiddle, he costed them the lane lvl 1 letting caitzone varus for free and
XD she could also harass by using her W ability treating the traps as a way of threatening the apposing enemy. Well that’s what I do anyways, is that a good thing?
It's hard to believe that this is what goes through qt mind everygame
Omar Guerra and then imagine the meme from hangover^^
Omar Guerra IT doesnt because when You do something often You dont think about it anymore You just do it
The thing is: after this "super tactic trades" cait went lower hp than varus at 6:00, loosing advantage and trade 1 varus minion for her own hp. Also the way they stick together after that trade againg fiddle with his crows and that amount skillshots missing is disturbing.
Can u release same concept on low range adc pls :)
"You're not expected to be able to land her ass on every minion." I swear that's what i heard at 6:18
I mean hey we aren't saying you didn't hear that 👀
Yashasvi Vangala HAHAHHA THIS SOUNDS JUST LIKE HER ASS
Her ass is all ive heard the entire video XD
Kyrin Miza 😂😂😂🙏

Teach me Senpai
leetontea dude you are good
Wave Management is really complex would appreciate deep analysis, I learned a lot from this though thanks for the great content keep it up!
We have an in-depth guide on Freezing coming out pretty soon, it would have taken too long to discuss it in this video =)
It's not that complex; if u wanna freeze just auto attack at the same rate ur enemy is auto attacking
Try keeping the same amount of minions alive
Wow amazing guide, really easy to follow through. Most guides are really long and quite boring and I usually skip some bits but this is exceptional. A channel worth subscribing. Thank You
Thats what i asked for, ty So much
Very useful with great analysis and information! I really like these guides a lot, keep them up!
So any time someone ask you how to play adc send this and let them adapt
all of this has nonsense if your support is yasuo ❤
Endeavor 02 or lux smh

I LOVE that you straight up told it was marketing, I love that, good honesty.
Plat elo, jung rammus no items early ._. 1:10
He went back to camp @2:04
Very advanced guide! great work!
Thank you Bastian! We'll have another out tomorrow, be sure to check it out!
keep making videos please these are super helpful and i feel im learning a lot
As someone whose hard stuck in Plat, these are killer tips.
Thank you so much, definitely subscribing.
i love this channel so much i've been climbing with jinx like a rocket
this video is so well done that i think ill get so much better just watching your videos
Bring more videos like this, ima ad main and i need more infos about how to behave at lane and wave control, thx for the video
Loving these new videos. So very helpful, thank you
Very informative video.. about to apply these techniques to my future games...much love from the Bahamas
Nice Guide, this channel is underrated
This is some high quality stuff- (subbed)
Keep em coming!

This whole video is not about Cait playing good but rather Fiddle playing bad and Varus refusing to use his spells for some reason.
This is absolutely amazing, thank you so much!!
the college of LEAGUE OF LEGENDS gameplay.
exactly what i needed
a video about deep analysis of what is happening ingame. 👌👍👍👍
Holy hit, these videos are really good, support
Your videos are amazing and really helpful keep it up👍
This is helpful, Thumbs Up :) Great work men
Whoa.. they should include this in the bible.. very informative.. outstanding presentation. I am sold and subbed
Nice video thanks ❤
Very informational! As an adc main this is good shit to help me
👌👀👌👀✓✓
Loved it. Keep it up and i want more!!
04:38 How he can auto attack to you? Your range longer then him but he hit you at the same time.
He just closed the gap by walking up as the AA animation is not instant
I enjoyed this very much ty
This is pretty informative!
Great analysis
i have a question why do you have bring minion like this to freeze? freezing isnt just last hitting minions?
1:37
Hey great video guys ^^
Thank you for the good advices! But could you make a video about how to win a lane with a disadvantage? Like could you show how a vayne has to play in order to win vs a lane bully vs miss fortune?
Very helpful 👌
Question: was it a good choice to put her 3rd skill point into her Q at lvl 3?
Muddragon no cause if she traps one of them she can’t double headshot combo also if she gets ganked there is no escape unless she wants to waste a flash
Nice! Appreciate the video. It's really helped ^^
I have concepts for a gameplan before the game too actually:
Feed my ass off and always blame the jungler.
Works everytime
How do you make the circle that shows your adc range? I never know how far i can go
Press X for attack move
Very nice video dude, appreciate it!
Can you do a counterpart? Like, what to do as varus in this matchup
Definitly subbed :D keep it up
amazing video, subbed
Great Video!! Everything is so clean, I can completely understand it if I have a better English level, I'm Taiwanese by the way.
Who
I noted that your Portuguese subs aren’t all correct. Did you need a help with that? I’m from Brazil.
Great video!
Just love the intro song

8:48 did you mean adaptation?
Thanks! And because of this tip, i can easily climb to Diamond and ill keep that tip in mind. Thanks a lot!
Could you analyze a video where both enemy botlaners know what they should be doing.
Pretty much an equal matchup
Yup! This Varus definitely knows what he's doing though - the Caitlyn is just more crisp :)
Guy needing 5 million games to reach gold playing solo q stompers calling others trash, thats pretty funny

more adc videos pls
do the similar video with vayne now
Xayah and rakan could go for harras too they have an amazing combo wish could get them the first blood pretty easily with their W
Can we have a guide for kiting as an adc on teamfights?
Also, i know what could be the resources that you can get besides the fast push hitting quickly the minions (like after doing it, go to put deep wards, that helps more in scrims btw. but you don't necessarily have to do it, if the enemy jg started at red side like in this video) but it should be good if you guys can clear out the next time and make more insight in that strategy, because there are a lot of people that actually do it, and they don't know why they do that, maybe for instinct.
my biggest issue is, when i try to freee and my support decides to thin and push. I ask them nicely and they just dont give any fcks
its great to know that people can forget to buy items even in challenger ELO. check out rammus at 1:11.
girish karuvelil these players are no where near challenger
I will master these techniques and become a challenger 😀😀😀 thank u
tips for mid pls
We've got another mid video coming up :)
What about top plz
Push the wave hella hard then roam
That mid video is now out! Mid Lane Macro from Behind: th-cam.com/video/SoHiSxZUqFA/w-d-xo.html
We're working on a video about the world's best top laner Khan right now!
But what if my support sits behind me and does nothing but be toxic in chat? :(
Joel Paul currently those passive support have lower chances to win. So just carry for a while until you get a game where aggressive type of support is with you. Dont worry. It will happen ... Higher elo with higher elo. 😂
John Ace yeah brother that’s how i got to D4 in NA, playing in LAN now where games are more challenging and players are less toxic
Even though I didnt understand anything cause im a filthy bronze, imma give it a like and sub
when was this game? biscuit pot? oO
great job
Any low range adc vs caitlyin and range sup has to start with doran shield and varus needed to lvl up e first so he can trade with cait
I’m a plat support, but I think most things you talked about are obvious, what level of players benefit from this? And I also think the supports in this video did not have any impact tbh.
This is good stuff
I freeze many times waves but gold junglers never gank before 10min
Bronze jungler never gank or nobody roams
Why does he use the A key to aa, instead of just basic mouse clicks?
Gracias me ayudó mucho
Please do more adc and support. :)
What should I do when my support does never let me freeze or manage the wave no matter what I do? It usually goes well when I'm top lane, but I can't do that on bot side as my support starts to hit minion and break the freeze.
P.S: I'm silver with low mechanics, mediocre knowledge.
Really nice video
I always have trouble auto attacking and canceling aa.
Yeah, that varus played pretty well, if i was him i would have be so pissed at fiddle, he costed them the lane lvl 1 letting caitzone varus for free and
and?
what if im the varus what i can do to stop caitlyn from winning the lane ?
why did the varus start W?
Why pick a marksman with an above average auto attack range to showcase proper laning
Great👍🏻
Can u do one for Lux?
How do you see max range of auto attack?
toplane guide pls!
Snuppilol Go Trinity + Steraks and Ninja Tabi. Runes = Klepto & Resolve against Tanks / Spellbook & domination vs mid game bruises (Summoner: ignite)
I'm actually pretty good at the dance, however my cs is so bad it sort of makes my strength moot
great video
Love it!
Holy shiit im a plat player and learned so much from this
damn the old bot lane started to look weird to me
why would cait freeze near their turrent ? :o
XD she could also harass by using her W ability treating the traps as a way of threatening the apposing enemy.
Well that’s what I do anyways, is that a good thing?
Joshua Daquioag I do it & it helps imo
“ Land her ass on every minion “
