100% helpful. Local stereo person said that it will be a IC fault and need to replace it. But this DIY was very helpful and my stereo is working fine now.
Man, I know those feels. I just finished my backup cam, microphone, and USB routing for Android Auto and I've gotta tear it all back out to find the short. Thanks for the short and sweet video!
That's crazy , I ran all new wire all throughout the car when I first got it no issues and now this error pops up. Gotta start checking connections now
Hey man you are doing a good job, you know this goes whatever bad can happen happens . Trying to stay focused when NO music is coming out sucks !! I’m a seasoned pro and I still get pissed to the point where I ask is it all worth it !
Guess it’s time for me time check out all my wiring. Thanks. Just got the amp error issue. I also got a service battery error at the same time and wondering if something caused a short.
I'm getting the amp error message myself. I've seen other vids that have the blue single wire (when it has no mate) tied into the red wires and I've even seen one guy take a blue and white striped wire and run it in with the red. One guy reset his and it supposedly worked (not buyin that shit) but, this is my first stereo installation. I know the innards of my car VERY well now. I'm trying the cutting off power to one speaker at a time this morning here in a few hours actually. Wish me luck.....
Hello my friend thank you for sharing my pioneer DEH-p590ib I press it to turn it on and nothing happens and then eventually the screen will light on and say (no compressor) any ideas what could be happening? I found the 40 A fuse to be slightly burnt separated I try to jump it with same results I just ordered new fuses do you think that was it?
I had the same issue today, a cheap stereo pioneer 210ex. Turned car off and on no problems. I don’t even have any speakers connected to speaker wiring on radio. Just small issues I have to get use to or spend more money on a deck next time.
I have the AVH 501EX...brand new. Had it in for 2 days now and I'm getting that same AMP Error code. WTF, I'm only using the rca inputs no speaker connections. I guess I'll pull the damn thing out and check AGAIN. frustrating!!
Trouble shoot everything else, not saying this guy is wrong. But I got the error and I just unplugged the harness and plugged it back in. Still thumbs up, cause might help someone else
great comment.. I did not only do what you did like 10 times.. I even unhooked the battery like 5 times.. mine was an ACTUAL short on the front speakers.. mine still works to this day.. GREAT comment though..
I just got this error today. Would this be why it would turn its self off and back on previously or it also has a cord that I can plug into and if I disconnected and reconnected it would work? Just checking before I pull everything apart.
Installed full system in excursion. Ran fine for 4 months. First rain of the year. Amp error code. Uggh. Check door speakers and or pinched wires or water logging
@@chriscraft77022 well. It worked great for about 20 miles then the error came back up. No speaker issues or camera issues when it was working. Thinking it might just have a pinched wire, i was in ghe dash for alarm stuff and the headunit. So gotta try again
A few days ago my pioneer started having that problem, amp error. Especially when i put heavy bass songs. I just simply turn the truck on/off and it starts working again.
Still can figure out what mine is I had everything wired and when I was ready too put the stereo in it did a amp error as I had it out before had it playing for like 20 mins before all this. I even disconnect speaker by speaker too further it out could it be a power or ground issue?
Chris Craft thx I’ll keep working with it I think it might have been the harness I had I reused it from another vehicle that I had so it has been used and pretty old so I ordered a new one to see if that’s it
Could it be a ground issue or not getting enough power I’m stuck at this point even tested each wire all worked fine no static just clean sound not even a clacking brand new speakers too
@@zachwithastache7898 bench test it.. you have other wires that can be making contact.. connect 1 at a time on a bench.. NOT IN THE CAR check the fuses on radio.. some have 2
Chris Craft I did do that it didn’t work so redid pretty much all the wiring running new wire too the harness and it fix my problem I got sick of fiddling with the brittle stock wires but thx for the help
I cut my wires and the error didn't go away. Nothing but power, ground and battery hooked up and still have error. Ran new speaker wires anyway; still have the error. I called Pioneer Electronics and they said the audio output final in the radio is bad and that's what the error means.
Hii buddy i am using pioneer mvh219 bt as a secondary stereo for a good output which is connected with the main head unit through aux cable idk why my pioneer stereo is showing amp error as none of the spekaer wire is in use i m running it through rc leads on my amplifiers can u plz suggest me anything , i am able to play music for like 2 mins than again this shit is happening with me idk what to do
My pioneer is doing that right now. I have (and just recently bought and installed) a DMH-T450EX. N I was just sitting in my car jamming to music, when all of a sudden out of nowhere my music cuts off and it just says AMP Error.
I’m getting this message but I ran all new wires from my speakers to my amp and I jsut got this message today for some reason and I checked all wires there still good
My speaker wires dont go to the head unit. I have an aftermarket amp. Also if i shut my car off then turn it back on the amp error goes away. Its only happened twice in 6 months. I have a pretty big system. I read it could be the actual HU. If my speaker wires were shorting my 4 channel amp would go into protect. Rules out that. Also like i said before it clears whem i shut the car off n turn it back on. I think im just gonna warranty it. Sorry this was so long.
Same bro. Mine occasionally goes into amp error but when i turn it off and turn it back on it works again. Cut all my speaker door wires cuz i dont use them, i have an after market system consisting of a pioneer 4ch, 4 pioneer pros 8’s and 2 horn tweeters, sundown salt3, sundown zv6 12 d2 and a double battery in the back. It was doing fine without the sub but now that i installed the sub it cuts out sometimes.
@@rapalaray1701yeah it's very frustrating. I have 2 Avatar stu 12s, jp63, 168ah headway, 390 amp alternator, D4S 4 channel for skar tx mids n highs. All in a 09 Maxima. It did it the other day with the sub not even playing. RCA knob all the way down. It only does it when I have it up loud. I think the Internal amp is getting hot. Pretty sure there's a built in fan in the Hu. I have a pioneer dmh 4660 nex. I bought a Kenwood single din. I'm done buying expensive shit. Lol Gonna take the pioneer back to Best buy.
I would unplug speakers get a multimeter do a continuity check on unplugged speakers. If you have continuity with speaker unplugged then that wire is shorted. Check the blue amp wire for short unplug at radio end if it doesn’t clear error after checking speakers. Return radio I had one power on and off on its own several times replaced second one ha sent done it but still has errors once in a long while. They are not made very well the 210ex.
I have the 4660 nex. Mine has only done twice in a 6 months period. Error clears when I turn the car off n back on. Also my speakers are hooked up to a 4 channel amp. I think the head unit is the issue.

21 seconds in, and you told me the problem. 1 minute later I got it fixed. Thanks, this is what TH-cam should be about 👏👏

My guy!!! 1,000% the solution to my problem. Appreciate this on a whole other level!
No you don’t have to rush to finish because you worked on it for 2 days. You do it right no matter what.

Amp Error code here. NO. SPEAKERS. CONNECTED. And still get the error.

You have a short in one of your speaker wires cut the speaker wires and connect them one at a time
Turned car off then on and its fixed
