    I’d go with the Next Gt Lite, as that appears to be the Cat’s preferred choice. Cats are quite intelligent ya know. Hmmm.

      Quite paradoxal, in the direct comparison video between the GT Lite and the Playseat Challenge, the cat was sleeping in the Playseat.
      So good luck choosing now m8! :D

    Guys, don't listen to Karl, he knows nothing. His cat is the brains behind the operation, so go with her recommendation.
    Nice one mate, that's really helpful to see all these laid out together. I was thinking about the F-GT lite, but as I have Playseat Challenge I think I'd just be paying for the same with less convenience.

    i have had the playseat challenge for around 18 months and its great. i use the fanatec csw 2.5 with the loadcell pedel and as long as you cable tie well its brilliant. im 6ft and 17stone and no issues for me. the force feedback is no issue and i feel it adds to it as the FF actually shakes the seat kind of like a motion rig, its great. well done Karl, i watch your vids all time and always find more relatable, my go to sim channel

    Great video, Karl, and no, you didn't chop your head off, but you know that already. Love your dry sense of humour.
    Based on your earlier reviews, I bought a Next Level GT Lite setup. If you use the large strap (that holds the whole rig together in initial packaging) to further tighten the wheelstand, there is NO flex. Ultra stable. Next Level have a video on how to make the rig more stable, btw.
    Love your work.

    The only reason I got the NLR GT lite was because it already came with the shifter mount and I needed something foldable. Also I find it better than the challenge and if I enjoy sim racing I’ll definitely invest in something bigger and better I hope to buy the DOF REALITY H3 to get a full dive and then get into the whole direct drive

  • @CrunchyMaggots
    @CrunchyMaggots 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bit of a weird question, but do you know if any of these would fit into a 65cm wide cubby with a shifter attached?
    Budget isn't really an issue for me, but my only available area is between a desk and a wall. Doesn't seem to be an issue for a chassis itself for most from what I've read online, but just about nobody puts up the stats for how wide it is with the shifter on it.
    Honestly I may also be down to just mount my shifter up next to the wheel on the main deck, but it's unorthodox enough that I'm not even sure if half of them could accommodate it, and certainly nobody lists that either.

  • @Daeva83B
    @Daeva83B 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You know... spot on in your first minute. I bought mine online, foldable. Which it is and it does actually fit underneath my desk (big desk). It's underneath my desk now :D Just not with the extra side attachments, i wanted a all-in-one solution, flight as well as driving. That didn't really pan out.. but anyway, it's huge and you standing there does not give any sense of how big it is. It caught me by surprise. Anyway.. still happy with it, driving in VR is definitely more immersive using a seat like that.
    I got the next level racing - flight sim.(flying i will be testing coming weekend, i need the side attachments for that)

  • @Chuggnuts
    @Chuggnuts 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you use the spare strap for packing away the GT lite (assuming it's still in the package, mine is the original one) to tie the right hand side of the wheel deck tubing to the bottom right of the front legs, it's a lot stiffer, it also straightens the wheel deck out a bit if you've tightened the other strap up really tight (which pulls the wheel deck out of line) - also I only use the bottom half of the clamps between the pedal deck and the seat section, your weight keeps them together but I then just shift the back half out of the way and leave the pedals in place, makes it quicker as it definitely ISN'T that foldable lol (especially with a fairly heavy fanatec wheel, shifter and handbrake on it)

    I’ve got one of those annoying questions, Karl...
    I own the GT Omega Apex and I want to buy a shifter and handbrake. Any suggestions on what would fit onto the shifter plate together?
    Or any of your usual creative solutions ?
    I know the Fanatec shifter fits and the handbrake would attach to the shifter itself but I heard the handbrake isn’t the best.
    I was thinking the Aiologs set might squeeze on?

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm I actually think you'll be lucky to fit anything on there together, it's not very wide at all.
      The Fanatec does solve this problem but that HB IMO is very overpriced and flimsy for what it is.
      If it were me I'd either get a second hand HE HB (I picked one up for the price of a new Fanatec HB) and just whip out the drill and bolt it to my rig somewhere! :) lol
      You may even be able to bolt something onto the outside of the shifter mount too! Aiologs do look like nice little units for sure! :)

Not too worried about the foldability of the rig so is there any advantage for the Corbeau? Keep up the good work 👍👍🤘

    Right now i still have my playseat evolution alcantara but the problem is the wheel stand. Right in front of the brake pedal. I bought it in 2009 with a g25 and in 2019 i bought a t300rs gt. Great investment but unusable with a manual h shifter because of the frame blocking the pedals imo. I made a small wooden plate combining the clutch and brake pedal as one pedal because i don't have a shifter. Good for rallying, always left foot braking.

    I was looking at the basic package for the Fanatec DD pro with gran turismo coming out, do you have a recommendation for which stand would be best for the DD pro wheel? I would only get the 5nm one though, not the 8nm. Space is kind of an issue for me so I wouldn't be able to fit one of the larger units in my flat unfortunately.
    I watched a few of your videos and they're really great and informative. Going to keep looking through to see if I can find one.

    Karl love your video's and you have helped me loads along the way as been growing into sim racing. Great style and just genuine geez.
    I'm just upgrading from Logitech G920 to Fanatec CSL Elite and wondering if the playseat is enough as very tempted to upgrade also to the Omega Art with monitor stand.

    I have the original GT Omega stand(classic), converted to full cockpit. The pedal deck welds just broke on me last night... Right after I ordered my McLaren GT3 wheel and went through 2 rounds of customer service to repair my brakes for my V3's. Does the Prime have any flex in the pedal deck?

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A very small amount, I do not notice it at all using V3's.

    Watching this video on the big screen sat comfortably in my playseat 😄 (p.s. why am I still watching sim rig reviews even though i've got one already?)

    One thing I've been wondering... It's very difficult to get exact dimensions for all these products. Of course, you get the overall cubics of them, but to figure out some DIY build or else, it's not enough.
    Now, seeing them all together here, I'm kind of wondering... maybe one could pair an IKEA Poang with a GT Omega Apex or something :D That miiiiight just fit. But maybe not for the armrest.
    Regardless, brilliant review and comparison between all those various model. Hugely informative!

    Hey Karl,
    Watched quite a few of your videos recently as I am wanting to play Forza horizon 5 with a wheel/pedals/shifter and I will need a wheel stand aswell, however I am stuck as to which one to buy, so I was wondering if you could help?
    Before I start I am 6 ft 5 so I don't know how I'd fit into play seats or Next levels seat stand combos, so I haven't listed them, if you think they are an option at my height id appreciate the feedback.
    My options so far are
    Gt omega apex - £119 out of stock :(
    Gt omega classic - £95. ( Can you do the metal bar mod with this to make it more stable?)
    Next level racing stand - £150 (silver foot plate one)
    Next level racing stand DD £180ish
    Is there any that I missed?
    I am thinking of getting a Logitech g920/29, pedals and shifter for £150 on Facebook market place, so Ideally I'd like to spend less unless the extra £ is worth it on the stands.

    Nice one, I guess you gotta declutter the room a bit already. :) Any plans about reviewing the Next Level GTULTIMATE V2? I have been toying with the "buy" button a few times already. I'm a bit short with room space and the fact it partially folds seems appealing to me.

    Hey i have a question, I was interested in the gt lite but I’m 6’6, would I still be able to fit and would it hold my weight?

    Here’s an interesting question for you. I personally don’t have room for a full rig. I game on a custom built desk. I need a new chair. Previously I’ve been using a desk chair that I removed the wheels. My wheel is attached to the desk as are the peddles. Would you recommend the playseat or next level foldable rig over a replacement desk chair

    • @essa28_fsr

      @Jean-Philippe Duplantis thanks. The peddle deck and wheel mount are redundant for me

    Karl thanks for your cockpit vids, they have greatly helped me with my purchase decision. I currently have an GT Omega Apex stand which was okay with my T300 but after upgrading the pedals to the load cells, which as we know need a hell of a lot more pressure on them, I know I need to get a cockpit and continue my steady sim race rig upgrade path.
    After seeing your vids for the RS seat comparison and the Prime review and measurements follow up I am off to order the Prime with the RS9. I am 6'5 and 14st so it looks like I won't quite need the XL seat.
    One last thing to ask as I click your affiliate link, I will need to move the cockpit over a hard floor. In the review you had carpet furniture sliders which made moving that hefty thing look well easy, and whilst I could get similar for hard floor I have noticed that in this vid your appeat to have caster wheels under your Prime. Were they straight forward enough to fit? Do they affect the cockpit during racing?
    Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your content now I'm subbed.

      All a great choice mate you will not be disappointed! :)
      Yes the castors just bolt straight on if you use M8 t nuts, I have a video showing me fit them if you search on my channel mate :)

    Alright there mate. Im using a gt omega apex with my gaming chair, the chair having breaks on the wheels works fine, but Im thinking about purchasing the foldable with the chair attached, would it be worth the swap or stay with the apex + gaming chair?

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer a foldable like the Playseat challenge to a wheel stand, but it's personal preference really mate.

    I was looking at some of the fancy extruded aluminium jobbies to go with my Fanatec Clubsport V2 wheelbase and CSL pedals with loadcell add on... my wife had to inform me that my Christmas surprise was a Playseat Evolution Alcantara ..." It can be used wth Fanatec cos I saw it in the ad " she said... I was worried , the Clubsport V2 had taken 2 weeks to rattle my office desk to oblivion . On Boxing day I set my new toy up , I was nervous but I needn't have been... the pedals can be mounted directly bolted to the plate , I'm not bothered about a clutch pedal so the wheel support being in the middle isn't an issue , I was able to fix the Fanatec footplate to the pedal plate using zip ties and it is solid... especially when the two long bolts that I didn't need after fixing the pedals direct are used to support the front end of the plate from the floor , the two holes at the top drilled very slightly to accept the long bolts.. and the Clubsport wheelbase ? It's solid enough ....but it does send some feedback straight down the wheel support to the pedals ...WOW !!! WOW !!! WOW !!! I wasn't expecting that !! ....that's the annoying thing about wives... they are always right 😁 .
