Hey @KarlGosling, I'm considering one of these myself with the RS9 seat and your review has helped a lot. Does this include the Prime Integrated Monitor mount? The photos on the site show it installed using 3 bolts into 120mm profile (using 3 channels). With the Lite only having 80mm (2 channels) are you still able to make a secure connection, it looks like it might be on the big side? If you don't have one to hand no worries i may fire off an email to GT Omega. Cheers for the content, excellent channel.
This rig is definitely on my radar for sometime in the future, rocking the play seat challenge atm, which tbf has been pretty good to me so far but a proper cockpit is on my wishlist
Karl, thank you for the detailed information. It's exactly what a potential buyer needs. I've pre-ordered one based on your review. It was between the Prime Lite and the Titan. Prime Lite prices in the US are quite a bit higher than the Titan ($560 vs $390). After watching this video, I went with the Prime Lite for its rigidity and customization potential. And thanks for the discount code, every penny helps...
Got my DD Pro on Friday and secured it straight to the Desk with the table mount. Needless to say 5 hours in i had pulled the table top off the Ikea trestles rolled back on my office chair coasters and finished the race with a setup resembling a badly wrecked chassis. Ill be using you code in the coming weeks Karl. Thanks Mate.
Honestly, i have a friend who did a layout that is extremely similar to this, except the pedal deck is different. It works perfectly with my DD setup. To my sim buddies who are considering whether they should upgrade to a aluminium cockpit? just do it! You wont regret it. Zero flex really enhances the sim racing experience. To be able to fully step on your load cell pedals with no worries, the steering doesnt move around, everything is perfect. And the modularity of these cockpit meant you can get creative and add your own touches to it.
The rigidity proves my theory that the connections does more of a the difference than the size of the profiles if it's 80x40 mm already. I've also reinforced my rig with some cheap steel-brackets with decent results. Those brackets can also be used to fix additional profiles to the rig in case 80/40 isn't enough and I did it with my former 40/40 base, but the downside is weight. I can't move it alone anymore.
I bought one on launch day a few weeks ago and I love it. I think you hit the nail on the head with, as you say, 90%+ of users would be perfectly happy with it. I don't use a shifter and I don't think id ever need to change it unless I started looking at motion perhaps.
Just like to say a big thanks karl, purchased this after your review. Using your code aswell. I trust your reviews more than anyone else as your not afraid to bash a product. Just assembled it and it's rock solid, no reason to purchase the bigger brother just a waste of pence.
Seriously... It has to be said. This is such a good review. And you are such a good reviewer Karl. I would easily put you up there with Barry Love you guy's work. Makes so much of our lives easier. Thank you. 😁 Now I've gotten full confidence to go ahead and buy the GTOPL.
Thanks for a great review, Karl! I ordered the Prime Lite cockpit over 1 week ago and will recieve it this week. Thanks for the discount code. I ordered the Prime Lite cockpit together with the XL RS seat and triple monitor stand. I have for some years wanted a simulator cockpit and this is the first time getting it. I will be using it in games like iRacing, Forza Horizon 5, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo. Not only racing but i also enjoy trucking and flight simulators. I have a Logitech G27 Racing Wheel+shifter+pedals for racing/trucking and then a Logitech yoke+rudder pedals for flight simulator.
Nice video, I wont one of these at some point, but the most impressive part is you are showing your true geek with the cassette games..Love to see it :)
With those little covers near the pedal base, just use a drop of CA glue on either/both sides where the plastic touches the metal (scrape up the metal and plastic just a bit with some 0000 grit steel wool so it has somewhere to grab onto) and well, bob's your uncle...
Karl... Mine arrived yesterday, just built it today. I got it with the RS12 carbon seat. Installing the seat was a proper ballache and I had to take the runners off to be able to bolt it to the rig because due to the size of the seat base the runners won't stick out from it so you can get a bolt in to bolt it to the rig. The other problem I found is that there isn't enough gap between the underside of the seat and the handle for the runners to release them so they move and ended up having to add additional spacers to raise the seat a little more above the runners so the handle operated. I'm going to be contacting GT Omega and get them to look at the seat and the gap between the runner release handle and the seat base because there isn't sufficient. Took me 8hrs to put together but it's my first one. Plenty of spares though.
I had the same ball ache with the seat bolts (managed to get an allen key in there though so didn't take them off) but no issues with the handle at all, yours isn't fitted upside down is it?
@@KarlGosling No, thought that myself. Maybe it's just not been bent as much as it should have been. Only needed to space it a few mm so a couple of thick washers on each corner did the job. Minor issue in the grand scheme of things. My other hobby is amateur radio and you usually end up having to re-engineer half the stuff you get if it's anything to do with aerials and masts so kind of used to it. Did the same as you and skipped putting the seat on in step 4 as I looked at the rest of it and decided it'd be easier being able to put it on its side for some of it. Some of it though is probably lack of experience building cockpits, this being my first and previous being just a wheelstand. I did learn very quickly not to tighten anything right up until you've got everything in place.
I'm having the exact same problem now, trying to get the seat attached to the base, the runners don't come out far enough at the front,i thought the seat was broke, have emailed gt omega and they want pics and a video of the problem. So its a design fault more than a broken seat then ?
With my pre-ordered psvr2 coming soon I been looking for a entry level rig for GT7. This review was perfectly timed. Used your link but went to US site. It redirected me to UK. Ordered one with the XLRS seat. Thanks. Great review!
Just ordered one. There isn't really that much choice out there, it's either "spend a lot of money" or "spent two months salary". This seems to do what I need. I am using a 9 year old GT Omega Stand Classic anyways so yeah... Much needed.
Ordered one of these based on this review. Used your code also. Great review, so looking forward to testing it out. Will be an amazing upgrade to my old Playseat Solberg Edition.
Karl thank you for the great review just dipping my toe into the sim racing scene and your review helped me out massively Ordered and eagerly awaiting delivery 😊
Excellent review Karl really appreciate your time, knowledge and dedication especially as I’m in the early days of returning to casual sim racing. it’s certainly been an eye opener with how things have moved on in the last 25+ years or so. I’ve been watching way too many videos just lately trying to see what’s the best route for me to go but your channel has been a massive help 👍🏻 I think the GT Omega Prime Lite is now the foundations of which route I’ll go but it will take me sometime to save up and although it’s been tempting it has quashed any ideas of me going really cheap eg the many used wobble wobble route offerings and then having to sell and upgrade seems a tad foolhardy. Keep up the good work buddy you have gained another subscriber 😎
Great review as always, I've been on the fence for a while to upgrade my current rig to a profile setup. Your review tipped me over the edge and I've ordered with your discount code.
perfect timing to be looking in to this! I've bought so much gear from GTOmega since first getting in to sim racing and always go to them for the next lot. Started with, and still have, the GTOmega Art cockpit. Just bought the Moza R9 and other bits so now looking at my next rig...Trying to pick between the Prime and lite options currently..
@@KarlGosling yeah it looks pretty solid to be fair. Think i'll probably end up going for that one then. what are your thoughts on the RS12 seat compared to the RS9? I got the RS9 on the Art and trying to decide if there's any improvement in the new one.. Appreciate the reply bud
Wow Karl, such a fantastic explanation of all things related. You did a great job on this video! I'm interested in seeing how easily this can convert, with extra parts, to a desk, to a flight sim, I think with the availability of extrusion, it shouldn't be hard. Thanks for the great video.
Hi Kal thanks so much for this video your review actually made me to decide to go with the Prime Lite as I only have 8nm Fanatec CSL DD base. And clearly your videos testing at 2 different higher powers than I have was a no brainier even when you said if you knew about this you would have bought the prime you would have went for the lite version. I used your discount code thank you just now the wait for delivery lol. Subscribed and liked the video.
@@KarlGoslingI never managed to build this in 15 minutes like yourself lol taken a few hours lol. I have just finished about 30 minutes ago and I must say I am astonished at the difference from my Wheel Stand Pro. I knew it would be miles better but honestly no flex no movement total changes the sim racing experience amazing product. Going to get a shot of PSVR 2 in a bit with it. Thanks again so much for the informational video and honest review you honestly increased my experience by showing us everything even stress testing at higher NM than my 8nm dd fanatec base so happy and chuffed with this 👋 😊
Looks decent, I’ll still be getting the Prime though I think for a couple reasons. I want the upgraded pedal tray for my single pedals and I also want the front mount wheel plate. Other than that, I think this rig is fine for most situations. I actually think full sized profile rigs are overkill these days. Profile itself is pretty rigid, it’s just the wheel/pedal trays really.
In the U.S., Just grabbed one of these rigs with the rs12 seat and brackets. Was $950 to the door with 5% code. I ordered it and within 2-3 hrs I had 4 UPS tracking #'s emailed to me. Hope it doesn't take long, my fanatec equipment was ordered on Sun and arrived on Tuesday, so fast.
Hi Karl. Thanks for a fantastic informative channel. I was about to push the button on either a Prime or Prime Lite when I became aware of the dismal feedback ratings for GT Omega, currently running at over 40% negative. I also watched the detailed assembly video from Sim Racing Garage and he concurred with your thoughts on these rigs.
@@KarlGosling just watched your review. Thank you so much for your work and also the discount. I’m totally getting this, and I think I’m gonna spring for their new RS12 seat that’s also discounted, and I should be ready to go 😎
A Karl rig review! Seems like it's been too long. 😃 It was your 'budget to high end' rig comparisons that hooked me originally. 😃 Great stuff as always Karl.
I have not have Gt omega, but quiet similar midrange cockpit. Then I fell in the rabbit hole of simracing and eventually bought motion sim. I was sure that I have to replace my rig since I was sure its gonna flex/twist because even long 8040 profiles were mounted sideways. Well I bolted all in, and used maybe 15-20 corner brackets more to make it rigid. It doesnt flex untill motion is so violent that it hurts you... Lets say dr2 finland jump landings on one corner with harsh motion tuning, and thats just maybe. I hate flex and I even gave up sport seat because flex on braking. There is no way human can make these profiles flex with hands or legs no matter what wheel base or pedals. I actually think anything over this rig is mostly just marketing. Maybe bag full of corner brackets for rigid kit😀
Do you have some advice how to save on integrated monitor mount for this cockpit? Prime integrated monitor mount is very expensive. I believe some DIY would be enough for single monitor and save some money.
@@KarlGosling The problem is, I don't have much options locally, it's not something I can easily buy in the store (there's a company that makes different aluminum products but they only work with other companies). I was thinking more of cheap Chinese manufacturers on AliExpress and such... So where could I order it online?
Great Review...had been waiting to see a review on this since its debut and pretty much now set on picking it up to upgrade my current GT Lite cockpit.
Thank you Karl for this review It looks this Prime Lite is the upgrade path for me from my ART. I would be really interested to know if the upgraded pedal plate fits this rig as my Invicta pedals are vertical so mounting them on this plate would put them at an awkward angle. Thank you
Curious if this worked for you; since the Prime Lite has a crossbar at the front, does the upgraded pedal tray lay flat without pulling it way too close to your seat? Or did it replace the crossbar? The regular Prime cockpit doesn't have that extra piece at the front to get in the way.
Thanks for the great review! :) I just pulled the trigger, hope it will work prefectly with my Podium DD1 😍 (Anyway I aksed GT omega about the compatibility of the base and pedals and they said it has perfectly the same compatibility as the Prime. Regarding the torque they said it was tested with 9Nm but could handle much more as we also could see from your review :) )
@@KarlGosling Thanks friend :) Regarding the seat could you recommend any better for the same or lower price? Real cars included (bmw? audi? mercedes?) :)
My room is a bit on the smaller size so I’m trying to look around to see what I can get I’m already using a Nlr fgt lite and fits fine. I’m wondering if I this would be around the same size in terms of length and width as it. I guess I should look it up.
Thanks for the review Karl. I think this may be my new rig. I've a GTOmega Titan atm, but really want to be able to add accessories and mounts to it and this looks just the job.
I’m in the same boat. Currently running the Titan with a DD2 and after reinforcing the wheel deck, it feels great and I don’t even feel flexing in ACC with my DD2 set to the Fanatec recommendations. Ironically, the most flexing I feel is with the Fanatec wheel hub and a bit of flex at the pedal tray with my Heusinkveld Sprints set to 45kg. But all in all, when I’m racing, I don’t notice it unless I’m consciously thinking of it. Once I decide to sell the Titan, if I don’t go this route, it’ll be another aluminum extrusion frame setup. Happy Racing All! 😊
@@davidcupra4913 not a bad decision, its a great, solid rig and i also think it nicer looking. only reason i upgraded was wanting to bolt bits onto the rig. can be done with titan, just not so easily. enjoy it :)
What do you think of the new GT Omega seats? I'm thinking of getting an ART and i'm just wondering if the newer seats are better than the old RS9 or RS6 ones.
Been looking for a review on this for week or so,just the ticket karl great vid.Upgrading from a heavily strengthened playseat evolution thats getting long in the tooth, just had a gt dd pro so need that extra rigidity, thanks again squire 👍🍻🍻
Just discovered your channel last night when I couldn't sleep ( I have a chronic back disorder) and have subscribed. Have ordered the Prime Lite based upon your review, it's on pre order as Omega are awaiting stock. Will probably be looking for a DD wheel in the next few months once the bank balance has recovered and was wondering which you would recommend on a budget, meaning not the high end ones. Am currently using the T248 which I wouldn't have got had I seen your review (I've had it 15 months) and I have a set of DC2 pedals arriving in the next few days. Thanks for any advice you may have. Enjoy your honesty and humour. Do you stream gaming at all?
I also have back problems so I literally feel your pain! Fanatec CSL DD or the soon to be released La Prima from Asetek would be my recommendations mate. Thank you for the sub too, appreciated :)
I’m considering definitely getting this or the OG prime cockpit in the future and I was just wanting ask but I simply want something that is rigid, no flex, and pretty much something that will last for a LONG TIME. So with that being said, can I go for either one or just to play it safe to have as much rigidity and sturdiness as possible, should I go for the prime rig instead or will I get the exact same thing as the prime lite just cheaper by a few $100? I’m currently using a NLR wheel stand 2.0 with the g pro pedals and a g29 wheel right now but will definitely upgrade it to the DD version in the future as well but just want to make sure that I’m making the right decision that’s all.✌️🙏
I'm so confused about those thick 10mm plates you showed at the beginning. From what I'm seeing they are mounted behind the risers. I'm clearly missing something here. What is their purpose being installed this way ? (they appear to be extremely thick mending plates. but installed in this manner they aren't)
Hi Karl, great review! I normally play Rally titles with my Fanatec Shifter and Moza HBP handbrake.. How would you mount these two for max structural rigidity?
Hi Karl , love your vids keep up the great work ! You made me buy a prime lite rig! One question I am having issues attaching the csl pedals to the tray ? Did u have issue at all or am I being stupid ? Whatever position I put my pedals in the holes just won’t line up ?
Ahh righto - I ended up just putting the top bolts in seems solid enough - I think the tray is not designed for the csl pedals - thanks for the reply and cheers for the content used ur code for the prime lite and waiting for the rs12 seats to come back in stock ! Currently sat on a wooden chair while I wait haha
Mine finally arrived last week, thanks for the review and code Karl! have the instructions changed? My instructions show the wheel deck facing the other way.
Yeah fitted it as for the instructions I received, only noticed it when I rewatched your review. Doesn't look to make any difference either way. Thanks again for a great review.
Great video! Do you know what the best cockpit is for the dof ms2 or mp2 seatmover system is? & do you think the dof mp2 or ms2 movement is good enough when using with VR? Or would a dof H3 system be leaps n bounds better because of the yaw movement and full motion? Thanks!
Hi Karl. Were you able to mount the Forte base straight onto the wheel deck? I have this cockpit and have a Forte wheelbase on order but not sure if I’m going to need the separate bracket too. I guess I can always drill some extra holes in the omega deck if necessary.
How did you mount the CSL pedals? I'm trying to install the Moza SRP( which have the same hole pattern as the CSL) but i can't figure it out.... I can only get the two front holes to fit, but when i tighten them down, the back of the pedals will start to lift from the deck an wiggle
I feel like I might upgrade to this from the Titan cockpit. The Titan cockpit is great, looks good, easy to move. But it does have substantial flex, especially in the pedal plate. It was okay with CSL Elite LC pedals but with Asetek Forte's it bends quite a lot. Also you ofcourse need to use another monitor stand, which is really clumsy in my case. Also the wheel plate is also quite bendy, and I'm only using a CSL Elite base. Ofcourse there's always the question of "do i spend another 200 to go to the max or not" :P
I think this is a good upgrade, more solid and way more customizable with accessories. I never used the pedal "tray" on my Titan as it sits too high IMO, but the wheel deck was always solid enough. Well that is a good question?! lol
@@KarlGosling yeah the pedal tray for me is also too high, especially with the Forte's. I got one question though, is it easy to move around without caster wheels?
Hi Karl! I love your channel, and I have watched a ton of your vids as I get ready to upgrade my rig. I mostly do formula racing and would like to get a rig leaning toward that. Have you ever reviewed or heard of the TREQ formula rig? It seems right up my alley, but I can't seem to find any independent reviews. I would also appreciate any suggestions! Keep up the great content. All the best!
Thanks for the video, couldn't have been better timed. Friend's looking for a decent rig for his oldest. Price thing is a bit tricky though since if you're for example in the EU the price point (still competitive, don't get me wrong) sort of changes quite a bit. Unless they've found a work-around? Buddy from NL had to pay the EU-tax when he ordered his Prime which put it (price wise) into a very different price range. But, I also see others on Reddit saying that they get their rigs without having to fork out the lovely taxman.
Hey mate, Bought the cockpit with your discount code - so thanks for that! Arrived in Germany today and I didn't have to pay any extra customs to my surprise. I read in a comment you and another YTer had problems with installing the seat. Mind explaining what is needed to do as a solution? Like ELI5 maybe? I'm sure you would help quite a few ppl with a good response because it seems like it's a problem with the rs12 seat. I'm not a native English speaker but explanation in Text should help me. Thanks!
Karl do u still recommend the titan as good a rig as this. Iv just ordered the titan today at discount for €478 with a seat. I prefer the look as it’s for my living room. Thanks.
another brilliant review mate. always take the time to watch your reviews even if i'm not going to buy the item reviewed. 🤭 ...wanted to ask about your opinion on 'upgrading' my wheel deck on the normal Prime cockpit to the DD podium mount for my CSL DD?
Hey Karl, thanks once again for the reviews and to help us out with the questions! Would you be able to let me know if this cockpit is compatible with the Asetek wheelbases? I see yours installed but not sure if it's straight forward. Thanks!!
Hi Karl, I'm going to order the GT Omega prime after watching your review. Your discount code is much appreciated. I have the Fanatec DD Pro for PS5 and on the GT Omega wheel deck they have DD as an option for the wheel where its empty in the middle and the DD pro sits in the middle. My question is which is better the flat based wheel top or the famatec DD option? Which would be more sturdy? Please help lol. Thank you
Karl, could you get your tape measure out again, I'm curious about the width of the cockpit frame excluding the gear and wheel brackets, unless someone has that already in CM please?
Great review. I have the sim lab GT1 Evo and love it. I currently am using the GT omega seat and it’s not great for load cell pedals. Looking for a new seat that’s comfortable and stiff. Probably will get a Sparco.
Appreciate the review Karl. Been looking at this rig, it looks excellent. I got the PS Trophy last year as I loved the aesthetic and it’s light and easy to shift. Should have hung on and gone full profile really
I have the PS Trophy as well and it’s not too bad. I don’t have much space atm so it sits to the side of the living room and I slide it in front of the tv when in use. I think it’s good for this. I run a 20nm VRS base on it and the VRS pedals and it’s pretty good with only a tiny amount of flex in the pedals. When we get a new place and I can have a dedicated rig I’ll be going to a profile rig though that’s for sure.
@@rover1374 yeah the trophy is great to be fair. Super solid but still light and mobile. My issue is more around its lack of adjustability. After longer races or seasons I find the seat a little uncomfortable so would prefer a proper bucket I think
@@VelvetGoldminer definitely doesn’t have as much adjustability as a profile rig. Certain adjustments affect other areas - like if you want to make the seat higher and and pull out the inserts, you then are further away from the pedals and wheel. You can adjust the wheel angle, but that then affects the distance to the wheel. I’ve got it pretty good though for me and I find it very comfortable.
Great review! One question, you say can you mount your CSL DD wheel base directly on the alluminium profile without using the wheel deck; in this case, could you angle it?
I was using a Asetek Forte wheel base but yes you can bolt direct. If you slacken the bolts there is a small amount of angle adjustment (it's really just the "play" or clearance of the bolt holes and profile channels) so not something I would have chosen to advertise as a feature... I didn't realise they had.
It might be a little late to get a reply here now, but I was wondering how the Asetek wheelbase mounts to the wheel plate? Is it directly compatible? Or is there another mount needed, or do holes need to be drilled? The Gt Omega website says nothing about Asetek compatibility. Cheers.
The Asetek wheel bases do not bolt directly to anything (weirdly), you will need to specify one of their mounts at purchase, see here mate www.asetek.com/simsports/?aff=Karl+Gosling
Hi karl I ha ve a question, how did you mount the wheelbase to the wheeldeck? I have a la prima wheelbase and the holes on the tray do not match the ones on the wheelbase
You have to use the "bottom mount" I think it's called from Asetek, no cockpit mounts directly to the wheel base as the spacing of the t nut channels is unique from what I have tried.
Might seem like an odd question, but is it quiet? As a person who only has time to play late at night, I find my playseat challenge a little loud. The cloth rubbing the frame, the vibration from the direct drive wheel are the main culprits of the noise. Will a profile rig help? Thanks, as always I enjoy your videos!
Karl, how is that rs12? I recently purchased a xl seat, and before that, I was using the rs6. I found the rs6 really uncomfortable in my mid back. The xl seat has no lumbar support so now I’m feeling it there. Gt omega is going to let me swap the xl for the rs12 but I can’t find any reviews.
How is seat compatibility? I currently have playseat evolution pro and am considering getting just the lite frame and using the evolution pro seat. Is this likely to work?
Can anyone help please I'm looking to get a Prime Lite but I want to mount my TSS and TH8A both at the same time from what I can see the shifter mount that comes with a lite is only big enough for one where as the normal Prime comes with a shifter mount big enough for both but I can't find this shifter mount for sale by its self on the GT Omega site is there anyone using the same setup can share how best to mount both thanks in advance
I just received the prime lite. Did you have a problem with attaching the seat to the rig? It seems that i cannot fully extend the rails to attach the bolts on the front. For the rear bolts i have no problem. The issue is that i have barely no room to acces the hole in the rail under the seat for the front bolts.
@@KarlGosling thanks man for your reply, cos i was getting worried. I will try again with another allen key to screw it. On the instructions it shows that the rail goes outside the lower side of the chair, but in reality it doesn’t.
GT Omega have confirmed ALL full size Prime addons and accessories do fit the Prime Lite! 😃

Everytime I need a decent review, I come to see if you've done it and you always seem to have. Subbed and liked. Cheers geez.
No worries mate!
Just made a preorder with your discount. Thank for great review 👍🏻
Hope you enjoy it!
been waiting for this, been typing into youtube every day, hoping someone got a review,Cheers Karl
No worries Neil, it's a decent cockpit!
@@KarlGosling nice and cheap, just the way we like it pal
I bought 1 last week. Can't wait for ut to arrive.
Good choice!
With my pre-ordered psvr2 coming soon I been looking for a entry level rig for GT7. This review was perfectly timed. Used your link but went to US site. It redirected me to UK. Ordered one with the XLRS seat. Thanks. Great review!
Excellent mate!
Yeah it always goes to the US first, no idea why?!
Just ordered one. There isn't really that much choice out there, it's either "spend a lot of money" or "spent two months salary".
This seems to do what I need. I am using a 9 year old GT Omega Stand Classic anyways so yeah... Much needed.
Thanks for that Discount Code mate. Just ordered the new pedal plate for the GT Omega Prime. $10 off. Nice.
Excellent!
Ordered one of these based on this review. Used your code also. Great review, so looking forward to testing it out. Will be an amazing upgrade to my old Playseat Solberg Edition.
Karl thank you for the great review just dipping my toe into the sim racing scene and your review helped me out massively
Ordered and eagerly awaiting delivery 😊
Glad I could help!
Excellent review Karl really appreciate your time, knowledge and dedication especially as I’m in the early days of returning to casual sim racing. it’s certainly been an eye opener with how things have moved on in the last 25+ years or so. I’ve been watching way too many videos just lately trying to see what’s the best route for me to go but your channel has been a massive help 👍🏻
I think the GT Omega Prime Lite is now the foundations of which route I’ll go but it will take me sometime to save up and although it’s been tempting it has quashed any ideas of me going really cheap eg the many used wobble wobble route offerings and then having to sell and upgrade seems a tad foolhardy. Keep up the good work buddy you have gained another subscriber 😎
I agree mate, save up and buy a good cockpit once, then you're good to go for everything else over time!
Thanks mate, glad I'm of help! :)
Great review as always, I've been on the fence for a while to upgrade my current rig to a profile setup. Your review tipped me over the edge and I've ordered with your discount code.
Hope you enjoy it!
perfect timing to be looking in to this! I've bought so much gear from GTOmega since first getting in to sim racing and always go to them for the next lot. Started with, and still have, the GTOmega Art cockpit. Just bought the Moza R9 and other bits so now looking at my next rig...Trying to pick between the Prime and lite options currently..
Prime Lite is perfect for 99% of people IMO mate.
Even with the pieces of a motedis rig on the floor behind me, I still gave you 30 mins of my day Karl. 😁
Appreciated mate! lol
Wow Karl, such a fantastic explanation of all things related. You did a great job on this video! I'm interested in seeing how easily this can convert, with extra parts, to a desk, to a flight sim, I think with the availability of extrusion, it shouldn't be hard. Thanks for the great video.
I’m looking forward to hear your thought about new RS12 seat as well.
Glad I could help!
Yeah spot on mate.
Been waiting for your review. Can’t wait to check this out as I already got it in my cart 😁
Ohhh good man! :D
@@KarlGosling just watched your review. Thank you so much for your work and also the discount. I’m totally getting this, and I think I’m gonna spring for their new RS12 seat that’s also discounted, and I should be ready to go 😎
This review was spot on cheers, its on offer atm plus yoir discount code made it a great deal!
Perfect mate!
A Karl rig review! Seems like it's been too long. 😃
It was your 'budget to high end' rig comparisons that hooked me originally. 😃
Great stuff as always Karl.
It has been a while! Thanks Doc!
Yeah agreed mate, for most this is perfect!
Do you have some advice how to save on integrated monitor mount for this cockpit? Prime integrated monitor mount is very expensive. I believe some DIY would be enough for single monitor and save some money.
Yeah just buy some lengths of profile and cut as needed, easy DIY for sure.
@@KarlGosling The problem is, I don't have much options locally, it's not something I can easily buy in the store (there's a company that makes different aluminum products but they only work with other companies). I was thinking more of cheap Chinese manufacturers on AliExpress and such... So where could I order it online?
That new GT Omega seat looks so good.
I really like it! My XLRS is being replaced for sure.
Hi Karl, great review. Got a question about the seats. Noticed some say the seat flex’s a lot under braking.
What’s your experience on this front?
I got the Titan with R12 seat last week. Looking forward to the review of the seat and thoughts compared to the other omega seat options.
Great review. Just purchased one on the strength of this…don’t even have a wheel yet 😂
Good choice!
Great Review...had been waiting to see a review on this since its debut and pretty much now set on picking it up to upgrade my current GT Lite cockpit.
Will be a decent upgrade mate!
Karl what's the difference between this model and the "Prime Lite - R" ?
This has much less flex in the uprights (basically none) and is overall a more solid cockpit.
@@KarlGosling Many thanks for clarifying Karl - I just watched you describe it in today's Black Friday video you just posted!
Thank you Karl for this review It looks this Prime Lite is the upgrade path for me from my ART. I would be really interested to know if the upgraded pedal plate fits this rig as my Invicta pedals are vertical so mounting them on this plate would put them at an awkward angle. Thank you
It does indeed fit! I spoke to GT Omega and all Prime addons bolt straight on.
Yeah it's a great cockpit, you will be more than happy mate!
You should mate yes, but I think it's a fair bit wider not sure on length though.
Thanks for the review Karl. I think this may be my new rig. I've a GTOmega Titan atm, but really want to be able to add accessories and mounts to it and this looks just the job.
It will replace the Titan really well, sell that on second hand and you'll have a pretty cheap upgrade!
@@KarlGosling Arrived, built, setup and very happy with it 😀 thanks again for the review 👍
I just ordered the titan for €478 euro with seat on sale. Hope I didn’t make a bad decision over this. I think the titan is more living room friendly.
If you prefer fabric or a larger seat then yes mate!
@KarlGosling, do you think this Prime Lite is suitable for a 6'4 guy with long legs😁?
Yup no problem at all mate!
You need to review the Simetik K2-R. Absolutely fantastic cockpit and not bulky/large. So it's good if you have limited space.
Great review ! I was wondering if you could recommend a pc surround system w/ monitors & or bookshelf speakers ? 🤘🏼🏁
Sorry mate I have no real experience with anything specifically for PC use.
Been looking for a review on this for week or so,just the ticket karl great vid.Upgrading from a heavily strengthened playseat evolution thats getting long in the tooth, just had a gt dd pro so need that extra rigidity, thanks again squire 👍🍻🍻
Ah mate this will be a great upgrade! :D
@@KarlGosling i take it the fanatec gt dd pro and csl pedals will fit this with no issue ? Cheers
Oh and no I don't stream mate, haven't got the time or a big enough audience to watch.
Just when I have the money for it, it's sold out haha! Great review as always, Karl.
Back in on the 14th of March mate so get your pre-order in, they are very popular!
Thanks Harald!
@@KarlGosling I will! How is the new RS12 seat?
I’m considering definitely getting this or the OG prime cockpit in the future and I was just wanting ask but I simply want something that is rigid, no flex, and pretty much something that will last for a LONG TIME. So with that being said, can I go for either one or just to play it safe to have as much rigidity and sturdiness as possible, should I go for the prime rig instead or will I get the exact same thing as the prime lite just cheaper by a few $100? I’m currently using a NLR wheel stand 2.0 with the g pro pedals and a g29 wheel right now but will definitely upgrade it to the DD version in the future as well but just want to make sure that I’m making the right decision that’s all.✌️🙏
For $100 just go full Prime.
Might just upgrade from my Art for this one. I need a three monitor mount and this looks strong
Would be a great upgrade!
@KarlGosling I went the whole way and got the Prime 😂 thanks for the discount code 👍
My pedals have additional holes drilled in them for another rig I reviewed so it may be that I used those, I can't actually remember?! lol
Hmm not that I know of?! lol But you can just fit it whatever way works best for your wheel base anyway mate :)
Yeah fitted it as for the instructions I received, only noticed it when I rewatched your review. Doesn't look to make any difference either way. Thanks again for a great review.
@@88johnnymc yeah, he has it backwards
Hi Karl. Do you know of any add ons for flight sim gear please? GT Omega or otherwise. Cheers.
80:40 is the only profile we use on the Lowrider, no flex even with Simucube Pro 2.
Perfect!
Great video! Do you know what the best cockpit is for the dof ms2 or mp2 seatmover system is? & do you think the dof mp2 or ms2 movement is good enough when using with VR? Or would a dof H3 system be leaps n bounds better because of the yaw movement and full motion? Thanks!
Any aly profile cockpit you can make fit either.
H3 is much better but it has a lot of flex.
Hi Karl. Were you able to mount the Forte base straight onto the wheel deck? I have this cockpit and have a Forte wheelbase on order but not sure if I’m going to need the separate bracket too. I guess I can always drill some extra holes in the omega deck if necessary.
If you have the base plate then yes mate bolts straight on.
How did you mount the CSL pedals? I'm trying to install the Moza SRP( which have the same hole pattern as the CSL) but i can't figure it out.... I can only get the two front holes to fit, but when i tighten them down, the back of the pedals will start to lift from the deck an wiggle
Mine bolted straight on, the CSL's have a few different holes at the back.
Hi Karl! Do you think this cockpit would be strong enough for a movement system like the Simrig SR1?
Yes! I have a review of a PT Actuator Champion motion system fitted to this very cockpit!
I'm also interested in this review
I've sent them a message to try and get one over for review.
Bit too expensive (Circa £1200) to just buy in.
@Karl Gosling 100%. Cheers mate! It's awesome of you to even look into it!
Thats very interesting! The trouble with the UK not being in the EU now :(
@@KarlGosling Damn though, very good review. Watched it a few times now. You're amazing.
Hey mate,
Bought the cockpit with your discount code - so thanks for that!
Thanks!
There is very little clearance for your allen key when doing the bolts up, I used a low profile allen key, it was awkward but fine.
Long term I definitely want to get my hands on one of these kind of setups
Karl do u still recommend the titan as good a rig as this. Iv just ordered the titan today at discount for €478 with a seat. I prefer the look as it’s for my living room. Thanks.
This is better but the tubular look of the Titan is nice for some and it's still a solid cockpit!
I have the gt omega racing wheel stand for the moment since it can be upgraded at a later moment 😊
A great starting point!
another brilliant review mate. always take the time to watch your reviews even if i'm not going to buy the item reviewed. 🤭
...wanted to ask about your opinion on 'upgrading' my wheel deck on the normal Prime cockpit to the DD podium mount for my CSL DD?
I don't think you'll notice any difference, I use the normal one for my DD1 still.
@@KarlGosling I did wonder what you were running currently. But that reassuring. Thank you
Hey Karl, thanks once again for the reviews and to help us out with the questions!
Would you be able to let me know if this cockpit is compatible with the Asetek wheelbases? I see yours installed but not sure if it's straight forward.
Thanks!!
Yeah I just bolted it on using the included bottom mount, front mount would also work and look better IMO.
Thank you
For the DD Pro either will be perfectly fine, I use the flat wheel deck on my DD1 and when testing all other wheel bases too.
Thank you!
Yeah for rigidity a solid bucket seat is always best.
what harness do you use on the prime. or at least what length as i want to put sim on my rig when i get round to building one.
I used to do this with my ART after I fitted castors, we can't all just leave them sat in the middle of the room all the time! lol
@@KarlGosling exactly haha gotta go what you gotta do!

Thanks so much!
Great review as always Karl, really enjoying your content as someone new to sim racing! 😊 Just ordered the Prime Lite with your code 😀
Excellent! Enjoy it mate!
Great review! One question, you say can you mount your CSL DD wheel base directly on the alluminium profile without using the wheel deck; in this case, could you angle it?
on their website is says "Quick release handles allow for easy height and angle adjustment" but i don't see how these brackets offer angle adjustment
@@vasiliswr794 Yep, same, I don't think so
I was using a Asetek Forte wheel base but yes you can bolt direct.
Or drill holes yes.
@@KarlGosling thank you!!!
will you do a review of the new pxn v12 or v12 lite ??
Doubtful, their V10 was awful! I would stay well clear.
Did you try fitting a handbrake? My fanatec club sport doesn't line up 😮
Might seem like an odd question, but is it quiet? As a person who only has time to play late at night, I find my playseat challenge a little loud. The cloth rubbing the frame, the vibration from the direct drive wheel are the main culprits of the noise. Will a profile rig help? Thanks, as always I enjoy your videos!
No sound at all that I noticed, there is nothing moving or shaking! :D
Hey @@KarlGosling , appreciate the reply. Have a great weekend.
Is the rs12 seat comfortable? I heard the rs6 is more comfortable though it is out of stock on gt omegas website.
Sure is mate, thats what's on my daily rig and I have had the RS6 and RS9 also.
Hi Karl, nice to meet you, do you think the prime lite can handle a fanatec cs dd+ and fanatec v3 pedals or should I buy the large prime?
This will handle even the strongest of wheel bases so yes you'll be fine mate.
Review coming! But I like it, also comes with a lumbar cushion if needed.
Is GT Omega covering the return shipping?
How is seat compatibility? I currently have playseat evolution pro and am considering getting just the lite frame and using the evolution pro seat. Is this likely to work?
Thanks Karl awesome review, seriously considering this instead of the prime, btw are you gonna do anymore retro playthrough streams?
I will mate yes, just been very busy!
It's ally profile so just get a coupe of corner brackets and bolt to the main shifter mounting "arm" mate.
I just received the prime lite. Did you have a problem with attaching the seat to the rig? It seems that i cannot fully extend the rails to attach the bolts on the front. For the rear bolts i have no problem. The issue is that i have barely no room to acces the hole in the rail under the seat for the front bolts.
Yeah I had to use quite a low profile allen key and it was fiddly.
@@KarlGosling thanks man for your reply, cos i was getting worried. I will try again with another allen key to screw it. On the instructions it shows that the rail goes outside the lower side of the chair, but in reality it doesn’t.
I'm currently using the GT Omega Apex stand with the seat frame. Would you recommend the Prime Lite over that?
100% Yes mate! Would be a great upgrade, so much more solid and adjustable.
@@KarlGosling Thanks I'll look it to it. I have the RS6 seat, any suggestions on a more solid upgrade?
