Rush Hour Trains At: Ashton, WCML, 09/04/21

- An excellent evening session spent at Ashton on the West Coast Mainline where we see countless services from Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway and freight from Royal Mail, Freightliner, DB Cargo UK, Greater Anglia and GBRF.
This bridge offers superb views of the North and South of the line even though there is a vast mess of catenary covering the area. It may not look like it but during periods of this film there were long breaks inbetween trains coming through but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is one of my favourite places on the southern sections of the WCML to film from.
My next film will be from where I initially was going to start my year off at Stafford for an all day and rush hour film which I am really looking forward to doing.

The rear 720 was 524 I think. I seen them in the Rugby sidings and later passing Lichfield Trent Valley on Wednesday. Pretty sure it was 524 on the rear but I may be wrong.
I would have to believe you on that one as I would have no idea haha!
Great video Jarred. Great to see 221115 + 221101 both liveries working together and GA class 720s (They will be replaced by Greater Anglia 321s, 322s and 317s). I can't wait for rush hour at Stafford.

The 720's come by my place quite often. On the Robin hood line, they get transported to Worksop down sidings were they have there stickers put on and finishing touches. Another great video btw

I'm really in two minds about the Avanti livery on the 221's. The livery does look good but from a distance you would be very easy to mistake it for a variation of the XC livery.

They would usually pass here around 5:20pm
Great video and what you think of the Avanti livery on the 221's as they look a bit the same on Train Simulator 2021 except when you see them for real they still have the red roof

Great to see you out and about Jarred and brilliant first video of the year. Lots of variety and traffic and always great to see the freight aswell with some fairly lengthy consists (won't tell you in was counting some of them as I'm very sad haha). Question....does all freight go via the Northampton loop? I'm guessing so it doesn't hold up the high speed services.
Thanks very much Paul it feels great to be back getting out again doing some filming. The weather was incredibly hit and miss during my stint here and at several times I thought it was going to rain hard but it seemed to avoid my luckily. In regards to the freight unless there are engineering works taking place then yes all of it will go through Northampton.

In 2022. London Northwestern railway is going to be replacing the 350's with a 5 car 730s. If no one knows already?

There at one Class 730 around on test at the moment it’s been seen at Euston number is Class 730 002 I think
I have seen a few clips on Facebook of it running around, maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to see it running
What do you use to find the trains before they come?
Real time trains I should think and mabye signal maps to find out where they are
He could just go and see what he can get for a surprise
I use Realtimetrains for all of my information
Keep forgetting how small the frieghters are in GB.
yeah we haven't got the biggest freight trains in the UK

It's located just south of the village of Roade in Northamptonshire
Avanti's livery is not very impressive, slightly boring and unimaginative. Who designs these monotonous liveries?

I have to admit there are some liveries out there that are rather dull but I have to disagree with the Avanti Livery I think it looks rather good on the 390s

Someone has blatantly copied your style, called East Midlands Railway Fan. You might want to take a look. Their videos are low quality and rubbish. Great video as always.
As long as he’s not using someone else’s actual footage then there’s nothing wrong with that.
