Rush Hour Trains at: Bletchley, WCML, 29/06/21

- An excellent evening session spent at Bletchley on the West Coast Mainline where we see endless services from Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and freight from Royal Mail, GBRF, Freightliner, DB Cargo UK and a mileage accumulation run courtesy of Greater Anglia.
Bletchley was built in 1846 by the London and Birmingham Railway once the line was completed from London Euston to Denbigh Hall which was located roughly 1 mile north of Bletchley station. This was at first considered a major station due to the fact that Milton Keynes hadn't been built let alone even thought of yet. Once Milton Keynes had been constructed the importance of Bletchley really fell away especially when the East - West route had been downgraded. This isn't to be confused with the new East - West rail link that is currently being constructed from Oxford to Cambridge. Milton Keynes railway station was given intercity importance in 1982.

I used to spot trains there in the 70s periodically. My dad used to drop me off for a few hours when he delivered there.
We lived in Cardiff so the attraction was seeing electric trains powering through. The only way I could note the number was to let it go by and as it pulled away! Those trains were flying, very exciting for a young boy.
On a serious note - another superb video. Great to see Bletchley station looking so tidy as last 2 times I've been there it was like a building site.
Great video mate. Bletchley is a good station on the WCML even for Rush hour videos as well. 377207 complete with depo whistle from the driver that is very cute as well as 66532 and 390129 having a race towards Milton Keynes Central.
Bletchley should go through a huge redevelopment with the high level platforms to be built for the East-West Rail link.

I remember going here - a 66 came through and I was pushed back by the wind! I wasn't close to the line either. The next 66 came through and I held to a lamp-post for dear life!

Great take at 20:48 ff. The shot of a freight train zooming by with LNW just starting up is terrific.There seems to be a lack of imagination when it comes to planning the livery of a train. The liveries of Anglia, Avanti, Southern and TFW are distinctly boring and repetitive and LNW just can't be bothered to change thiers from London Midland.. East Midlands have nice purple trains on their regional services and some of South Eastern have a lovely blue. My fvourite is a West Midlands train with orange on brown.

If I can recommend a station it would be marston green near birmingham I've been there myself it's an amazing station you get loads of traffic passing by

Jesus Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey, "Professional"? if you were more professional we wouldn't enjoy your videos as much! It's your quirky comments, honest reaction when you get thins wrong and when things don't go to plan coupled with some slick camera work that are your trade mark, that and the usual pigeon appearance. Long may that continue, it's a recipe that works. 👌👍
How frustrating it must be when you're trying to make these "Waffle at............videos" and trains keep getting in the way!
