Very good video. Great to see the young lad filming. I'm 55 now and sometimes I wonder if there's a generation of enthusiasts behind me. Keep enjoying it lad.
Great video!! Lovely station Oxford! Brilliant ilkley moor bah tat from the Lawley Street train! Nice other trains you got there too like the DB freight!
I have just finished watching the CML series. Of the stations I have been to on this line, my personal favourite is Leamington Spa, which appears to have hardly changed since my first visit in 63. Excellent series, always love the rush hour trains.
During the morning peak and late afternoon (around 4pm), there is a return stopping shuttle service between Reading and Oxford using a 2 car 165 with it occasionally being operated by a 3 car unit. It is primarily aimed at students who go to school/ college/ university in Reading or Oxford and live near the stations between Reading and Oxford (Tilehurst, Pangbourne, Goring & Streatley, Cholsey, Didcot Parkway, Appleford, Culham, Radley, and Oxford)
Some big money scheduled to be spent at Oxford to create a new island platform (No 5) and replace Botley Road bridge to give a bigger road and pedestrian clearance and add extra track. Interesting to note that while the two Chiltern trains were numbered in in the '168' series the very different cab profiles show the first (168/2) to be from the 170 / Turbostar family and the second (168/0) to be from the earlier 165 / Networker family. The Chiltern 168/3 fleet are actually converted 170 trains. Chiltern is probably one of the very best TOCs around. Innovative and with a great customer focus. What they achieved at Bicester to create the Oxford services was excellent.
What's annoying is, they are talking about a direct service to Witney but they should really extend it onto Cheltenham- that would be much needed. Also, the link to East of Oxford is desperately needed...
Great video mate. Oxford is a really good station, sadly no 68 silver set cause of Covid but nice to see 66415 in the orange livery I love orange yeah I like to see the rainbow livery GBRF 66773 but all well is not the end of the world 😉.
Thanks very much, this is a great station to come to in the evening peak :) I would have liked to have gotten here sooner but the roadworks put a stop to that
800 302 would have run fast from Oxford to Banbury. The following 165 would've stopped at the intermediate stations (Heyford, Tackley, and Kings Sutton)
Thanks very much, there won't be a mainline series this year because of how late I started my year getting this filming done. Next year will see a mainline series making a return and it would be from the South Eastern Mainline from Dover to London Charing Cross/London Victoria.
Loving the rush hour stuff keep them coming doing a great job for us railfans very best wishes stay safe.
Thanks very much I'm glad you're enjoying watching these rush hour films :)
Those super voyagers sound good 👍
Our Local! Great Video and hope you enjoyed filming here!
