Well executed with so much détails so it's not just an easy dial color change. Applied logo, applied indexes, blackened indexes and hands, red touches. It maybe lacks lume on the dial and maybe a white bezel black typo ref. What would you think about à white bezel ? I would like to try it and see if i have the same impression i had with the black version. I thought it was very square because of lugs and endlink. This part of the watch is flat so it draws a rectangle that override the round case. So for now i don't like the black version. I own a worldtimer (43mm case) and shorter lugs and endlink don't override the round case.
It's a great looking watch, i'll buy it, i love white dials with black hands and hour markers. I have a Rolex Explorer 2 white dial (last reference) and my father has a '86 Datejust with white Buckley dial...
Looks like one of the best white dial watches in many years to come from a brand who is into mass production. On the straps it’s an absolute killer. It’s a game changer… not because it’s the first or something that hasn’t been done before, but because it’s the first white in the Rolex / Omega class, that is better looking than the Daytona. My opinion… Let me have it Rolex fanboys😂
First off, I love the look of the new white dial. The only "complaint" I would have is with the lume plots on the hour markers vs the OG having fully lumed markers. The black dial will be superior at night vs the new white version. I am lucky enough to own the 50th Snoopy which has the same style of lume plots and the readability at night or in a dark room is almost none. I know, first world problems but for anyone trying to decide on which Speedy to get this might be something to consider. Cheers!
Is anyone else here old enough to remember when the average guy who was doing reasonably well, could actually afford to play this "luxury" watch game? If watch collecting were a sport I've been ejected and sent to the locker room, changed my clothes and left the stadium.
Yea, im thinking the same thing. Bought my speedy new for 3600 usd ish, and sold it... Now i hope this watch will make the black ones a bit more affordable, so i can buy it back 😮💨😅
You are soooo right. I found not à lot time ago the receipt of my very first luxurious watch in 2008. It was a speedy of course, hematite, full steel. Bought it tax free in schipol Airport for...2300 euros ! There was a time where the speedmaster was 1.5 time the monthly salary of an average engineer...now at 8800 euros, ir becomes almost impossible for the average dude to think of it. That is another sign the middle class is disappearing...
personally I like this version of the speedmaster over the standard model. The touch of red is what does it for me. I love these little differentiator's in watches
I've always found white text on black is far clearer than black text on white for some reason which is why I always use dark mode on my devices. Inverting the colour palette on the speedy really does make it look completely different .
I'm also a Dark Mode guy for that reason. It's quite amazing how well fine white lines look on a black surface compared to the inverse. Must say, money no option, having the "Yin & Yang" would be brilliant because of how much our perspectives shift 🥃
Just picked one up. It's a gorgeous piece and wears like a 39/40. I just wish the bracelet didn't taper as much, and it had more micro adjustments. Dial just makes perfect sense and is a beauty to look at. In love with it.
When I saw the Chronograph hands moving backwards, I was so confused.... Then I realised the video was played in reverse, haha..... Great video as always!
Excellent video yet again. This version might just be the start of a larger collection yet to arrive? I think a light green possibly next. I still await my snoopy so I’m patient enough to hold out.
It's difficult to know what they have in store. I'm sure they put great, great care into these "core" models (in steel) The '57 Range lets them be more creative and of course all the precious metal variants BUT hey! This could open the door for them to start experimenting with blues and all sorts in the core collection 🥃
I'd like to see more colours, but they'll probably be very strict with keeping the contrast as high as possible, as that's a key element of the design.
It does feel like when the Seamaster started to expand dial colours (there is probably too many now but that's something else). However, I feel like it's easier for divers to play with colour (and be accepted) as opposed to tooly chronos
You made a great point, the white dial does make it clearer to read but at the expense of making the different dial functions less distinct. I also find that for me at least, the white dial is harder to read in bright sunlight. This is however is one really stunning watch! Very well done 🥃
The white dial is stunning indeed, but do note with the applied indices the lume are greatly reduced compared to the original speedy. Have yet to seen this mentioned.
I bought a Sub no Date and a Sapphire Sandwich SpeedMaster last year retail. Now this comes out and I am wondering do I sell one so i have a black and white dial combo.
The black dial, whether hesalite or sapphire, is what gets worn on the mission. After successful completion, the white dial option accompanies drinks and backslaps at the bar.
As always another great video. Although I do not own an Omega, hopefully one day. With that said I am like you that I have never pined for the Speedmaster. I must admit that this white dial has my attention. My favored dial is a matte black dial, I just love the effect it has on legibility. I agree, the hype is going to be pretty loud for a while, but cooler heads prevail for purchasing at the retail price.
Another excellent video. I like how you break down the designs. Fascinating. I have a hesalite Moonwatch that I love. If I could I would add the white dial. It is a completely different watch.
I have a small wrist at about 158mm (6.22inch). Most of my watches are 37-38mm. This watch looks more like a 39-40 on me. For anyone who worries the speedmaster pro might be too big on smaller wrists, go try it in person. Your though may change once you put it on.
It's a good option. I like options. I have two Omega's, a 50th anniversary GMT, and a Chrono, and I rotate through both of them because I like them both.
I have owned a 35th anniversary panda 1861 for over 20 years since new, never a second I thought of selling that, white dial / silver dial though stray from it's traditional form, it is brilliant.
I was watching a movie called obsessed with Idris Elba the other day and he was wearing one of these, but it had to have been one of the older 2021 models that you were talking about and it was so beautiful that it was actually a character in the movie.
Would love to know your thoughts Mark! It’s going to be a very tasty addition to a collection (but somehow doubt it’ll replace the black dials versatility) 😉
No doubt a stunning watch. I’m not overly surprised in Omega doing this, as it increases their market by ‘fine tuning’ in an already established range. Like the Seamaster, there are various colour combinations to suit all tastes. I’m glad they did it though, because it certainly makes you scratch your head to decide which you would buy (assuming money no object !) No too dissimilar with the BB GMT. Great video, leaves you plenty to think about…
You mention the matte white speedmasters in passing comparison, but I think this distinction vs a gloss lacquer is equally quite huge in terms of effect. As you said, the lacquer is clinical. To my eye in natural light, while lacquer dials can appear so clinical that they could pass as shiny plastic. They have little life, and few nuance or secrets that are given up only when the light hits at "just the right" angle as you sit on a patio enjoying that beer in the evening... By contrast a matte (or even slight eggshell texture) white dial excels at exactly this. There is something supple and texturally interesting about the matte dial that keeps you wanting to stare at it. A bit like comparing the visual interest of undisturbed fresh snowfall vs a shiny white laminate dresser from Ikea
Dear Mr IDGuy, as always a great perspective, I have not one Omega, TBH too much overlap for me to bother. I say that but the silver snoopy (As much as I dislike the hype) would be a nice contrast to what I have. This white dial is very nice and can see it being a huge hit for the brand. Kinda liked your previous intros with the acoustic playing mate, I could listen to a whole video of you playing. Very soothing in this harsh, hustle and bustle of this hobby of ours, watch collecting. ❤
Thank you for your excellent review. I appreciate your encouragement to avoid the hype. It’s a truly beautiful watch. The black dial speedmaster bore me. I prefer the white dialed versions (especially the Canopus gold one) but none of them impress me enough to buy. I understand they are rich in heritage and design but for whatever reason they spark no joy for me.
I love it ! but ill be honest , i can't get me to be paying a whoping 4000€ more in only 3 years since i got my 1861 new with a discount from an Omega dealer. I understand the prices have risen on the global scale , but this is not justifiable.
Great point brother. The prices have changed our perceptions about what we REALLY want. It's no longer frivolous fun chasing these new pieces (unless there's a great deal to be found) but around 4x price increases in the last year and a half? It's insanity 🥃
It’s a great looking watch no doubt. Looks more premium and dressy. There are a few interesting details to mention. 1. No Hesalite version. I suppose it makes sense for a more upscale piece. 2. Price bump is likely to be extended to all Omega catalogue at some point. 3. They could’ve put a ceramic bezel to make the watch more modern and premium. 4. New straps that would work on all 3861 models. - The rally leather strap looks nice. Is there a new racing dial Speedy coming? - Not so sure abt the rubber. To me it doesn’t work with the upscale watch. Maybe Omega wants to have its own oyster-flex?) I’m wearing my Hesalite Speedy 3861 as I write this. Love the watch. It’s been my grail. The most basic Speedy. I don’t feel like I need another Speedy. My Seiko SARB035 is my not black dial watch 😊
There are lots of quirks to this new machine for sure AND it's good to say that the black dial will always be more "versatile" as a daily and more historically significant, I mean it's the icon. The White dial? A nice change of colour, a great addition if you want that Yin/Yang BUT not as "rounded" as the OG 🥃
I plan to look for a Speedmaster in about 18-24 months. I intended to go for a classic black dial 3861 Sapphire Sandwich. The introduction of this white dial variant has made the choice a little harder. The inverted colourway is compelling. I think this is one situation where I have to see both side by side in person and then go away and mull them over of a couple of weeks.
Always been a fan of the current white dial Seamaster and was waiting for a Speedmaster one, not disapointed at all, will be buying one at some point at retail
Asked yesterday at the Omega boutique, Mall of Emirates, Dubai. Was told have to wait 3 to 6 months to get in store but have to preorder to get hands on. Your dead right about just waiting a year or so.
Dubai Mall has it but only one for show off, another thing dont buy from the Omega store in Mall of Emirates, buy from Dubai Mall their service is way higher and atmosphere and overall vibe is better. They earn commission on the watches they sell and that russian guy working in Emirates Mall i dont want him to get any of my sales. He is too arrogant, cold faced, no emotions.
Had a chance to try it on during a recent trip to Vegas. The black one never really spoke to me but this white dial is 👌. Only change id make is ceramic bezel over aluminum to match the more modern feel of the watch
Beautiful, I’m just hoping the introduction of the white dial will dilute the price of the black dial variant of the secondary. Poised to buy if I see one for sub £4,500. 😊
This white dial and its striking resemblance to my smp300 in white is giving me doubts in getting a sapphire sandwich speedy in black. It’s so pretty and the red pops out. Love the indices giving depth. Hope the black speedy gets the same red and indices so that I would be happy holding off till then lol. Otherwise, slightly redundant having 2 pretty omegas in white.
I have the discontinued 1863 sapphire sandwich and didn't see any need to change to the 3861 as I'm more than happy with mine. Is this new white dial version is different enough to consider it? Maybe it is but I'll be waiting for a while before I even consider a purchase and even then there is no guaranty that I'd move on my current Speedy. They are different enough to consider both but it boils down to being able to justify both. The Moon Watch for me will always be the black dial but the white dial is gorgeous.
I’ve never been a fan of the black dial Speedmaster for some reason but this model from a design perspective looks amazing! I would certainly get this model instead of the original one 🙌🏻👍🏻 nothing against black dials because I really love the black dial Daytona by the way
I’d get lerally yesterday one if not for two facts: - i already own hesalite 3861 speedy - i don’t like saphire caseback. i mean the one from hesalite is not unobtainium you can get one in the boutique right away, but it adds to the price. I mean… It’s a wonderfull watch. I still claim it’s better than Daytona and I might get one in the future. As I said in the beginning if not for the fact that I already own and daily a Speedmaster it’s a no brainer to get this!
I want to like white watches because the "experts" say that I should but most don't do it for me, especially once I try it on my wrist. I don't see on screen the added depth you're talking about, however I think this watch is one of those things that is far more impressive in person than any camera could capture...so really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh before passing any judgement but brilliant move on Omega's part none the less.
I actually think the break from white dial to black bezel makes it wear smaller. Just got mine today and I was surprised how well proportioned it wore on my 6.5" wrist.
Two critiques - 1: when you hold the two speedys side by side the white dial wears smaller than the black 2: I think you’re overestimating how difficult it will be to obtain one of these, I was quoted 3 weeks at my Omega boutique with no prior spend history.
I wish they made the tachymeter bezel ceramic instead of aluminum. They already made enough changes with the white shiny dial and applied indices, that they should have gone all the way and upscaled the bezel. The watch reminds me of the Speedmaster Racing with the white dial. Beautiful and better specs all around, except it's huge at 44.25mm and 15mm thick. Omega has far too many choices in its model stable, and yet all seem to be missing something (and almost all Omegas are now too big and thick when sizes continue to trend smaller). At this price, and wanting to keep with the aesthetic similar to a Daytona, I'd sooner choose a Zenith Chonomaster Sport.
I find it surprising that it took them this long to add a regular white dial speedy to their catalogue. Also the fact that they have yet to release any blue dialed version of it. And yeah this one I'm liking it very much, but I already have a black dialed speedy and I really don't need more chronographs in my collection lol. I mean let's face it how often do you use chronograph and... The cost of service is pretty steep!
I have always been a more of a Seamaster type of guy. (And black or blue over a white dial). But this watch is gorgeous. This will give the Daytona and El Primero a run for their money. Awesome watch.
It's definitely a great way for Omega to puff out their chest and proves that when they put effort into these sorts of pieces... man, they can nail it! 🥃
I really like it. I'd be very interested to get one some day. I've always had a thing for white dials. Good thing it's not a limited edition. Plenty of time to save up and skip the hype line to get one.
I have an old speedy and a white dial with blued hands and markers. I love both. The white is dressier but the black is tougher and understated. Unfortunately the white is auto but I dont mind that.
I have the black Speedy watch and I think it looks fine on my 6.5 inch wrist. I agree with you that a watch with a white dial tends to look a little larger, and this one might be pushing it. Also, the price tag of £7600 is a bit steep for an average consumer.
Having never been drawn to the ‘Moonwatch’, this White dial Speedmaster really does stand apart. It’s almost like White is the new Black as far as dials are concerned. The stepped sub registers are so well defined. I have heard some people complain about the Red ‘Speedmaster’ text but, I think it looks nice. As you said, these will be in high demand and rightly so. A great analysis of this new release by Omega boet. Would you switch your A384 for one? I wouldn’t 😉 Hope all is well and I’ll be in touch soon ✊
I own an enjoy the 3861 hesalite daily for its modern build and vintage style; however, the white reference finally introduces a contemporary design to the catalog; IMHO Omega should update the black dial sapphire variant as well.
Beautiful watch but somehow falls flat for me; maybe that will change once I have a chance to see it in person. For now, I’ll hang on to my 3861. For me, watches that are at their heart sports/tool watches generally need to have darker dials, while white/silver should generally be reserved for dress pieces.
I never wanted anything to do with a speedy or even chronographs. Went in to look at reversos about 5-6 yrs ago. Ended up handling a speedy. Geesus. It was so cool. Bought it on the spot.
One more great review. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Regarding the black being a functional dial and the white a beautiful one, makes a lot of sense to me until I look at the Mondaine Classic watches. For some reason, I think that the white dial there is more legible (and beautiful too). Thoughts? :)
I would understand if people are asking for a different diameter for other models, like Planet Ocean series, since a lot of the good colors are on the 43++mm range, the 39.5mm colors are so limited. But this wears smaller than 42mm and yet people still complain and asking for a smaller one. It even wears smaller than my 40mm submariner! Life is short, enjoy life wearing this watch rather than waiting for something that might not exist.
@johnpatricklopez hardly complaining, I really like this version, but I've tried it on and also the 38mm and feel like I have soft spot for smaller dials even though I could wear the 42mm easily (7'' wrist). If they never decide to make a reduced version, then there's a high probability I'll eventually get this one.
@@gori277yo dude. i have like 6.5 inch wrist. the previous 1861 wears a bit on the limit for me but this 3861 bracelet made a huge difference that i can wear it in peace. lol
It’s beautiful and I’m a purist and big fan of the original since childhood. If given the choice and you already have an 1861, would you buy an another with the 321 or the new white release?
@IDguy what's the reference of the Zenith you're wearing in this video? As for the white speedy, not buying into the hype, I'd rather have that Zenith you own :D
I love that you say it’s obvious. I agree. And I wouldn’t want to change anything either. Maybe the text on the back that says first watch on the moon. That’s just unnecessary. Everybody knows that.
Considering how many variations of this watch there are I have no issue with the white dial and some soiling of the original. I just prefer the black… or the snoopy actually I really like the snoopy let’s go with the snoopy!!!!
I love the dial but I would have left off the red text (makes it look too much like they are trying to emulate the Daytona). The black dial with hesalite crystal is still my favorite.
The white speedy is a little more legible than the white seamaster. It’s the dressy speedy. Maybe that makes sense since many speedy enthusiasts (who were kids during the Apollo missions) are getting older (old guys wear suits more than the younger crowd). You’re right that the grey market ones will be cheaper in a year. It’s not difficult to manufacture, and it’s not a limited edition.
I went to try it on this Saturday. It does look good. It was 1K above retail in the preowned watches store, € 10,200. So, not being in a hurry, I thought there is time, and it would be wiser to wait. Maybe one day, second hand, possibly in a couple of years. I do have 2 stunning Speedies including a 321 tho, and there are more important pieces - 1960s sports pieces, collection grade, that are very hard to find - on my wishlist. So the white Speedy is not a priority, it may be a "nice to have" at some point. But that is just me.
Its more of a dress up watch, thats the vibe it gives me, the black is better its so versatile. I tried the white at the store and compared with the black, the white is sharp very popping. It looks elegant and nice though, but the black is for anytime anywhere no matter time and place.
I love this watch , and would buy it immediately, BUT - I’m expecting a silver snoopy very soon . I paid a deposit in Oct 2019 and have been told by the boutique that the next one they get in is mine within the next 3 months I’ve been promised! Should I cancel the snoopy and get this instead? If money was no object I would buy both to go with the speedmaster I already have, but alas, it’s one or the other, white or silver.
Good question, it's a tough one (different for everybody) but the Black Daytona is one of those aspiration pieces that I'm sure few would really part with to chase and Omega (my 2 cents) Saying that though... a white dial speedmaster is something else 🔥
Another presentation with precision and intelligence at the heart of the discussion. Well done and, yes, I agree that this is a perfect evolution of design. On another note: tell us something about yourself! What is your name, fer God's sake? Where are you from? What is your background?
Well said. Let the fools pay over retail in the first year then pick one up for $1000 or more off retail in the aftermarket. Omega will pump these out in very high volume and they will sell very well in the near term, priming the second hand market in 2025
Omega’s “Yang” to the Black Dials “Yin”
What are your thoughts on the White Dial Speedmaster? 🥃
Well executed but I'm not really a white dial fan. I may go back in a few years and pick one up as it is a ss. I have the black hesalite.
Omega has lost it …
Well executed with so much détails so it's not just an easy dial color change.
Damn you Omega, take my money! I have the white dial Seamaster 300m and thought no other watch would look as good, I was wrong, it's stunning.
First off, I love the look of the new white dial. The only "complaint" I would have is with the lume plots on the hour markers vs the OG having fully lumed markers. Now i hope this watch will make the black ones a bit more affordable, so i can buy it back 😮💨😅
This is what “luxury” watches have become… over inflated prices with more or less the same quality of watches of the past 20 years
You are soooo right. I found not à lot time ago the receipt of my very first luxurious watch in 2008. It was a speedy of course, hematite, full steel. Bought it tax free in schipol Airport for...2300 euros !

Seems like only 10 years ago one could get a Speedy Pro retail with discounts at less than $4k retail new
Stacking tudors before its too late 🤷♂️😂
Finally Omega coming out with something consumers actually want!!
personally I like this version of the speedmaster over the standard model. The touch of red is what does it for me. I love these little differentiator's in watches

Ah, the wittiness of my fellow man never ceases to amaze me!
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for amzwatch watch makers
I almost have no words for how gorgeous this timepiece is, just stunning!
Agree that the white dial presents a more luxury feel. Great commentary and video. Cheers
Excellent video yet again. This version might just be the start of a larger collection yet to arrive? I think a light green possibly next. I still await my snoopy so I’m patient enough to hold out.

My pleasure to share Amar, thank you brother! 🥃

Thank you Alvin. It's asking that question if folks will be buying these to use the chronograph function (or not) 😉🥃
Are many people genuinely using the chronograph function?
The white dial is stunning indeed, but do note with the applied indices the lume are greatly reduced compared to the original speedy. Have yet to seen this mentioned.
Tried the white Speedmaster on today. Great looking watch. Somehow appears to wear smaller than the black dial version.
I bought a Sub no Date and a Sapphire Sandwich SpeedMaster last year retail. Now this comes out and I am wondering do I sell one so i have a black and white dial combo.

Gotta have both the Yin & Yang 😉 Like your take on this 🥃
And we neither went to the moon or celebrate doing it. Its just a watch with a cool story, that many have bow heard.
As always another great video. Although I do not own an Omega, hopefully one day.
With that said I am like you that I have never pined for the Speedmaster. I must admit that this white dial has my attention. My favored dial is a matte black dial, I just love the effect it has on legibility. I have a hesalite Moonwatch that I love. If I could I would add the white dial. It is a completely different watch.
I’m a “put everything into retirement accounts“ 50 something but this white dial has me making plans…
I have a small wrist at about 158mm (6.22inch). Most of my watches are 37-38mm. This watch looks more like a 39-40 on me. For anyone who worries the speedmaster pro might be too big on smaller wrists, go try it in person. Your though may change once you put it on.

I have owned a 35th anniversary panda 1861 for over 20 years since new, never a second I thought of selling that, white dial / silver dial though stray from it's traditional form, it is brilliant.
What a beauty... and those added panda sub-dials ties it together so nicely. Thank you for sharing brother! 🥃
I was watching a movie called obsessed with Idris Elba the other day and he was wearing one of these, but it had to have been one of the older 2021 models that you were talking about and it was so beautiful that it was actually a character in the movie.
Wonderful review. I am going to see this tomorrow hopefully
Would love to know your thoughts Mark! It’s going to be a very tasty addition to a collection (but somehow doubt it’ll replace the black dials versatility) 😉
Just bought it. It’s absolutely stunning in person
Thanks for sharing your story!
The white speedy looks stunning, almost perfect. Thank Good, if it were perfect, it would be dead.
No doubt a stunning watch. I’m not overly surprised in Omega doing this, as it increases their market by ‘fine tuning’ in an already established range.
Like the Seamaster, there are various colour combinations to suit all tastes.
I’m glad they did it though, because it certainly makes you scratch your head to decide which you would buy (assuming money no object !)

Stunning Speedmaster, black or white, more choise, more fun, perfect omega offers
Maybe Omega wants to have its own oyster-flex?)
I’m wearing my Hesalite Speedy 3861 as I write this.
Absolute perfection.
Just stumbled upon this video and now I'm seriously considering adding a white dial Speedmaster to my collection.
Great review of this stunning new model, I love it and am sure it will be a big success for Omega, still love my speedy though. 👌
He is too arrogant, cold faced, no emotions.
up until 3 weeks ago (approx), there was one in the window of Rivoli in the DIFC 😊 check there from time to time, tourists dont go there much...
That’s my bracket now too brother, £4500 is basically the limit (a good one to live by too) 😉🥃
This white dial and its striking resemblance to my smp300 in white is giving me doubts in getting a sapphire sandwich speedy in black.
I would certainly get this model instead of the original one 🙌🏻👍🏻 nothing against black dials because I really love the black dial Daytona by the way
I’d get lerally yesterday one if not for two facts:
- i already own hesalite 3861 speedy
- i don’t like saphire caseback. i mean the one from hesalite is not unobtainium you can get one in the boutique right away, but it adds to the price.
I mean… It’s a wonderfull watch. I still claim it’s better than Daytona and I might get one in the future. As I said in the beginning if not for the fact that I already own and daily a Speedmaster it’s a no brainer to get this!
AND its important to say that the Black dial will be infinitely more "versatile" and timeless (when we look back at its history) ;)
I absolutely love this watch…..
Great review of a masterpiece, thank you. 🙏
My pleasure James and thank you! 🥃
Great perspective as always. Very clean design. Will this bring more new customers to Omega or just be a +1 for the faithful?
That’s the question we’re all asking 😉 I reckon it’ll be the latter and thank you as always brother 🥃
I actually think the break from white dial to black bezel makes it wear smaller. Just got mine today and I was surprised how well proportioned it wore on my 6.5" wrist.
I have to say that NKUWAN 's watches is amazing!
Two critiques - 1: when you hold the two speedys side by side the white dial wears smaller than the black
2: I think you’re overestimating how difficult it will be to obtain one of these, I was quoted 3 weeks at my Omega boutique with no prior spend history.
It'll be interesting. The green Seamaster by all accounts shouldn't be difficult to obtain but it is (was?). Time will tell
Thanks for the video! I wish they had committed fully to dressing it up and used a ceramic bezel. Gorgeous regardless.
Most sports watch’s have black dials. So white dials are a bit different and always interesting.
They do let you see the watch from another point of view (think I mentioned it in the video) Always fascinating seeing the same watch in reverse 🥃
Nobody will buy this in place of those two.
I really like it. I'd be very interested to get one some day. I've always had a thing for white dials. Good thing it's not a limited edition. Plenty of time to save up and skip the hype line to get one.
I absolutely love the white dial my only issue is that the bezel insert is still anodized metal and it should be ceramic or sapphire.
Excellent video, but why the Zenith?
I have an old speedy and a white dial with blued hands and markers. I love both. The white is dressier but the black is tougher and understated. Unfortunately the white is auto but I dont mind that.
I have the black Speedy watch and I think it looks fine on my 6.5 inch wrist. I agree with you that a watch with a white dial tends to look a little larger, and this one might be pushing it. Also, the price tag of £7600 is a bit steep for an average consumer.
It’s a cracking watch and on my wrist watching this.👏🇦🇺
Having never been drawn to the ‘Moonwatch’, this White dial Speedmaster really does stand apart.
I wouldn’t 😉
Hope all is well and I’ll be in touch soon ✊
Phew that's a relief I can hold onto my remaining kidney until next year going on your advice IDG. 😄 Great, thoughtful video as always. 👍
I own an enjoy the 3861 hesalite daily for its modern build and vintage style; however, the white reference finally introduces a contemporary design to the catalog; IMHO Omega should update the black dial sapphire variant as well.
Applied white ceramic lume plots (like what Tudor's been up to) would be brilliant! 🥃
This model takes the Daytona on, head to head and I think I prefer it to the Daytona!
Thought I would not like it. I actually love it. Think it looks better than the black dial.
Omega just tapped the diehard Speedmaster collectors to buy another one!😎
Perfection. I want one.
Good video. Still would like you to review a Certina DS model- DS2, diver, or something else
One more great review. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Regarding the black being a functional dial and the white a beautiful one, makes a lot of sense to me until I look at the Mondaine Classic watches. For some reason, I think that the white dial there is more legible (and beautiful too).
Thoughts? :)
Another watch I need to buy ... where does this ends... ? ;-)
Drop dead gorgeous. Make it in sub 40mm and I’m in. I might still be in in 1-2 years.
Give it a good 36 months and anything would be possible 😉
Did you add a Breitling to your collection?? What about the blue box next to the guitar behind you?
@IDguy what's the reference of the Zenith you're wearing in this video?
As for the white speedy, not buying into the hype, I'd rather have that Zenith you own :D
I absolutely love it!
A great release and for once a watch I would pay Omega's inflated prices for. The way the recessed sub dials stand out is fantastic ❤
I love that you say it’s obvious. I agree. And I wouldn’t want to change anything either. Maybe the text on the back that says first watch on the moon. That’s just unnecessary. Everybody knows that.
They really don't need to add that text on the back anymore, you're right 😉
Considering how many variations of this watch there are I have no issue with the white dial and some soiling of the original.
As always, such a great video!
Just wondering, is your name Guy and do you work in Industrial Design? If so, what type of work do you do?
Just thinking ; How many black Daytona's will get Px'd for this beauty because the Panda Daytona is a Mythical purchase.
Good question, it's a tough one (different for everybody) but the Black Daytona is one of those aspiration pieces that I'm sure few would really part with to chase and Omega (my 2 cents) Saying that though... a white dial speedmaster is something else 🔥
I prefer the white Speedy on the racing strap. Looks more sporty and nicer than on bracelet.
Another presentation with precision and intelligence at the heart of the discussion. Well done and, yes, I agree that this is a perfect evolution of design. On another note: tell us something about yourself! What is your name, fer God's sake? Where are you from? What is your background?
@@IDKline I can tell he's not a born Brit. However, he doesn't have a South "Iffrikan" accent either.
@@IDKline aaah- the door opens slightly, yet only affords a glimpse
Finally a solid watch to complement my black dial seamaster
Is that a Breitling Box I see? 👀
It is! AND the watch will be reviewed in a month or two. The Speedmaster also is going to be linked to it in some way 😉
Well said. Let the fools pay over retail in the first year then pick one up for $1000 or more off retail in the aftermarket. Omega will pump these out in very high volume and they will sell very well in the near term, priming the second hand market in 2025
Just picked mine up at the OMEGA BOUTIQUE
Sold the black version. Hated the bracelet. Will I buy the white? Probably not. Waiting for the Summer Blue Ultra Deep I ordered.
