Hi Andy, I saw the new white dial version online and immediately knew I had to have it. It’s much more appealing than the black dial versions as the white dial is not just white, it’s lacquered which looks fantastic. I went to the boutique in Bond St to try it on and put my name down there and then. They quoted around 3 months but after 4-5 weeks I received the call. I do think that keeping in touch with the shop can sometimes help in getting the watch sooner. I only waited 5-6 months for my Rootbeer and this was at the height of the hype.
Here in NZ they are expecting it to start arriving from next month. I put my name down for it, as I do want a Moonwatch, but not yet another black dial watch. So this white dialled iteration ticks all my boxes!
Like you I'm trying to justify it. Amongst my currently 9 watch collection are 2 Speedmasters already. A new hesalite 1861 and Green Speedmaster 57. I love my hesalite speedy, infact it's my favourite watch. But there are times I think it would be nice to have the sapphire sandwich version too as more of a daily wearer. This new white dial would not only give me a sapphire sandwich version but with the white dial too, it's suddenly a bit easier to justify adding one to the collection. But I'd also love an Apollo 11 50th anniversary I've been eyeing up on the second hand market, a Reverso Duoface and a Rolex Explorer 40mm 😬. Like you say, can't buy them all... But might have to see it in person, see just how strong the pull is, because I'm loving the look of it so far
Just buy it!🎉 😊 Congratulations in advance!🎉 Btw, incase you don't like polishing hesalite, you can apply a super thin soft self healing TPU film... very cheap and no more scratches... it's invisible too. Best regards
Hi Andy, I have to admit, I like the watch so much that I put down an order 30 minutes after I saw it on Tuesday. As a fairly normal customer with no excessive spend history I expect it will take some time until I get the watch. Totally fine with me. Thanks for your thoughts on this one and I envy you (a bit) for having seen it already in person. Cheers U
I saw one in my local Omega boutique last weekend after inquiring about a blue Seamaster on a blue strap, now I can't decide which one I'd rather go for, the blue Seamaster looks great when you first see it but the white dial Speedmaster looks easier to live with.
The comment about it looking like a bright white plastic Swatch is way off. I tried one on today. It’s glossy, luxurious, and almost the mirror image of the OG. Matt black juxtaposed with glossy white. The pop of red on the script and chronograph hand works a treat too. I think it’s a home run.
I was in the same OB in the Royal Exchange this week to also try on the new speedy. Like it, although not 100% convinced...I did put my name down for one though.
This Speedy with the white dial is beautiful without a doubt, but I personally prefer it with the black dial and I don't even consider buying it having the hesalite version since 1993. It gives me the feeling that Omega is taking the same path as Rolex, excessive prices and too much shine in many of their models, if in addition to this, they start with a waiting list... Thank you Andy for your video.
Hi Andy, I have been following your channel and watching your videos for quite some time now, although this is my very first comment. It is pretty obvious to me that this new watch checks all the boxes for you. Love at first sight. Just go for it when it is available. Had you truly wanted that green dial JLC in your collection, you’d have bought it by now. You even posted this video before posting a video of your newly acquired Cartier Santos blue dial. It’s just a matter of time!
I have a long list of videos to complete on my office white board. I have no plan only a sudden urge to be creative outside of my day to day work. Sometimes there's a window of release that just needs to be met such as new product releases. I don't cover them all, only ones that interest me. I did an initial Cartier video last time, just the unboxing and 'review' to do. I haven't done this for the Grand Seiko I bought in August! You can't have them all, but it's fair to say the JLC would land before another Speedy - or neither. Sometimes it's better not to buy and keep the love affair going.
@@TheEnglishWatch I’ve seen a comparison of the white dial vs the black dial in low light, and the white dial only has lumed “pips” at the very end of each numeral marker. This is different from the fully lumed indices in the black dial version.
Thanks for the video Andy. I was interested in buying some form of a speedy for my collection. I do prefer an automatic movement with better water resistance. So was looking at the black omega racing. Until this white dial has been released. Why is there plastic on the Watch? How can you tell if the bracelet is still sharp😃. You would think if the watch is for customers to try on this would be taken off. So the new white and the original black there is one new difference. The new white dial version the Watch glass is more slightly domed compared to the black. Doing away with the milky ring, halo around the edges apparently. I think I will get this new version in white. I own the Tudor white chronograph. So I may start a watch box of white dial watches. To be fair there are not that many around. Here is my new white box idea being named the white album collection. Tudor panda, white speedy, Rolex explore polar, panerai submersible white dial. Going to take a while to buy these financially.😂.
Really can’t get the shades of the sub-dials, like the official pics and video promise a pretty huge contrast and layers within the dial, like I immediately wanted it so bad but all i can see in those boutique short videos with a thousand lamps within the room is a mega flat and boring white dial. I guess it might be better in person, still not sure it pushes the Zenith Chronosport further which i can get 20% off rn 🤔
I’ve o my ever been interested in the Speedy racing as when you compare them side by side the racing has far superior feel in case and bracelet but this one somehow calls me in. The basic vanilla black dial has never once given me the fizz. Funny how that goes.
Great video and channel. As an owner of the black dial, sapphire crystal 3861 movement , I’ve seriously considering a trade in for the white dial (sell my existing speedy and “invest” towards the white dial). I’m curious what your thoughts are, if you could only have one what would be your choice?
It all depends on your means, if you'd miss the black dial and if you can afford to do it. At least with the black dial you can always buy another. No shame in mixing things up regularly if you don't mind taking the odd hit. Think of it as rental costs.
I think Omega are doing unusual things- can’t ever see Rolex releasing a plastic submariner. I do like this but I prefer the true panda like you referenced and the Tokyo 2020. It’s ok but you can’t beat the original
Just picked mine up (zero wait USA) and it blows the Rolex Daytona Panda out of the water! AND it costs over 30% less!.. No waiting and no Hyped Rolex prices!
I'll be the "anti" LOL! I've got a late 23 Sapphire Sandwich that I love (obviously). I'm not keen on the white face at all tbh. Good video though!! :)
I like the 3D effect from the applied markers but I don’t like the lack of lume. Omega need to more than just change colours around especially on the very flawed and in desperate need of a update SMP 🤔
Hi Andy. I love the look of the new Speedy but I'm not loving the £1,000 uplift in price. I think I'll be waiting a couple of years before considering a purchase.
Wait a couple of years and it probably will be up £1000 lol sadly nowadays, whilst you gotta be sure of a purchase, waiting on pulling the trigger only means the retail is up up up!
@@RobW1170yes somehow many keep going around spreading lied about this. Check any speedmaster professional track record..any speedmaster professional 5yrs out almost always sell above acquisition cost. Check watcharts, c24 and carousell etc. Best regards 🎉
A lovely watch ..but for me the face is just too brilliant artic white and the red script too gloss…Would prefer it to be more subdued, even matt but then maybe more people prefer shiny bright to subdued ..would definitely prefer it on the very good quality black rubber strap than the bracelet..a more understated elegant look
Somebody said it looks like a bright white plastic Swatch.. harsh, but there is something in that... I'll stick to my 1861 which cost me half the price of this, and only a few weeks ago. Edit - just to respond to some of the comments - this is my personal opinion only. I'm sure this watch is great. I love omega and every omega I've had has been excellent. This will be no different.
I went to a boutique today and got to see it in person. It’s beautiful! A plastic swatch is the furthest thing from what it actually looks. The white lacquer dial is stunning. I put my name on the wait list. Can’t wait to get one.
I suspect the Swatch jibe is from black dial owner afraid their depreciation will get worse now 😂. But they really are too expensive now, whatever version you like…or don’t like.
Proof that watch companies don’t have to work even a tiny bit hard to get watch nuts losing their minds. This is literally the most boring thing ever. A white dial. Whoopie
I did not know how much I was longing for a White Speedmaster before they brought this out! Simply Beautifull!
Looks amazing! I love the original Speedy but I think the white one is my new favourite Omega.

In fact from now on I wish all speedmaster fan boys stuck in this rabbit hole a speedy recovery, lol.
I tried one on earlier at the OMEGA Boutique (NYC - 5th Avenue). I think it looks and feel spectacular.
Here in NZ they are expecting it to start arriving from next month. I put my name down for it, as I do want a Moonwatch, but not yet another black dial watch. So this white dialled iteration ticks all my boxes!
Love it too! My next watch later this year was going to be a moonwatch hesalite….but now i’m not so sure! 😅
Regarding the sound, I have struggled so much with the same mic. Commiserations
First outing. I’m sure there’s a setup that works. Maybe not try on a live audience next time 😁
its stunning - dont know if i would buy it instead of the black one though
Yes it looks nice I may pull the trigger but waiting till summer . Get the planet ocean video up 👍

Agree with you Andy this white dial version is a beaut
Was there a problem with the speedmaster racing it never gets a mention 326.30.40.50.02.001 why is that . Love mine .Cheers .
I like it, BUT, I don’t like the reduction in LUME to only lumed pips instead of lumed indices.
It’s not a reduction. Just the same as the black dial. Some of the specials have more though.

Any difference in the Lume of the new speedy compared to the black dial ?
Yes. Less. Applied markers only have lume at their ends. Black dial all markers are painted & fully lumed.
It’s the same
@@TheEnglishWatch it’s definitely not the same
I wonder why they didn’t roll out the lumed tachymeter from the 2015 snoopy onto all watches , as that would have looked amazing on this too.
