looked to me like "somebody" got on the brakes going into the start... a shitty thing to do. that might be a dastardly and effective move in sprint cars, but not in indycar.
When I was younger and was racing WKA Kart, this was something I did all the time if I was in the front row. Coming out of the last turn before the flag drop, I would bite on the brakes. The guy behind you slams into your crash bar, kills his momentum, and give you a 300 pound shot of acceleration. Yea, it really pissed people off sometimes, but hey... it would give me a pretty good lead heading into the first turn and I had the groove all to myself.
Do IndyCar give pens for that kinda behaviour? Spencer is out of the race there before the start line 'cos the guy behind thinks the race is already started.
Avoidable contact penalties usually (they have to drive through pit road under green). They have not had a chance to give out any penalty as there was a massive wreck on the first lap after the restart that ended with Robert Wickens going into the catch fence.
Actually this was an accordian effect caused by a few guys a few rows infront of Pigot and Rahal. Look at Row 7 (Dixon and Jones) both drivers are very far off of where they need to be at the beginning of the replay and clearly try to jump the start. Ganassi's dirty tactics.
Fucking commentators are dumb as hell. XD Why do they name Rahal as the cause of this crash? He was just gaining speed as all the others, but suddenly the cars in front slowed down somewhy. If the stewards penalise Rahal for this, I really don't know what's going on here.
That Wickens crash looked just like Kenny Bracks accident... hope he's alright.
