Dishwasher water inlet filter check [HD] - SOLVED

  • We've been intermittently seeing the check water LED light up at the end of the cycle on our 2yr old Bosche dishwasher. From the manual it says to check the inlet pipe isn't kinked, and to also take a look at the filter.. so that's what I'm checking in this video. Turns out it looks absolutely fine, so I've no idea why it's happening.
    UPDATE: We've not seen this problem since I had a look at this inlet filter. I'm actually now thinking it was the fact we were running the washing machine at the same time.. which would cause a drop in water pressure.

    Thank you!! Just saved me a service call - this very unhandy person fixed the problem by following what was done in this video. There was a tiny bit of dirt inside but didn't seem enough to stop it working, but it is working now! My dishwasher has the check water light on the front and the cycle wasn't even starting, so different model, but same fix.

    That's an aquastop inlet hose which protects the room from flooding when the inner hose fails.

    I've got exactly the same problem but I don't see a resolution on your video.. I checked the inlet and completely clean. But there is a filter on the machine and I guess we need to look at that. Sometimes number 7 shows as an error in the manual and sometimes number 12. I think number 7 means cleaning and we've cleaned all the filters and the pump impeller seems to spin without a problem. Number 12 is this video.

    No luck on ny Bellini BDW127X-F. Opened mine up, removed what I think was particles of rust from our old (now replaced) pipes. Plenty of dirty water so I'm betting we're in for a new inlet hose if I can bloody figure out how to get to the bit that connects to the machine.

      We've not had it since we made sure we weren't running another appliance (like a washing machine) at the same time.. as I mentioned in my update in the description, it seems to be the drop in water pressure that causes the problem.

    Same problem. I found a very small amount of limescale in the filter, put some vinegar on it, and watched it dissolve. Seems to work fine now. Still, the amount of limescale was small, and unlikely to have caused the problem.

      It's weird.. maybe simply opening it up clears out an air bubble or something?

  • @sempei58
    @sempei58 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    not sure if its a good indicator, but instead of ripping the filter out and finding out it was ok, just shine a torch through the side of the plastic box and if the light shows through the filter i would assume its clear. I still have the issue and i am still investigating.

    • @Endpoint101
      @Endpoint101  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sempei58 Hmm, I'd still open it up like I did in the video.. stuff gets trapped in the black washer and red plastic insert.. you'd not see that by shining a torch through it. It doesn't take long to unscrew and check it.

      @Endpoint101  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Endpoint101 Yeah but you did not do anything. You just looked at the filter and found nothing was wrong with it and screwed it back together. You may have inadvertently released some water or air.
      This guy SOLVES the problem:
      th-cam.com/video/d60BJo8fzpA/w-d-xo.html
      This issue is caused by either a leak into the bottom tray or the foam bar in the overflow trigger if it is so old it has deformed and needs replacement (it triggers without water).
      Following this guys video i was able to determine that the small dent in the dishwasher door has compromised the seal and water was leaking into the lower tray, triggering the overflow value and thus showing the water inlet error.

      +dishfixhelp storm The dishwasher model number should be etched in the metal of the door.. I had trouble easily seeing this on our old one, and ended up taking a picture at the right angle for light to reflect it best.. then enhanced it in an image editor to really help see.

The plastic filter casing's threats, similar to the one in video were apparently damaged and was unable to screw it back to the coupling in the wall. I s it possible to obtain the filter casing or plastic screw - in casing without having to replace the entire inlet pipe?

    That filter are crap and valve are bad. if something goes into valve it can open and close at higher water pressure or hot water (hot water inlet dishwasher)

      This helped me. Upon unscrewing the pump part from the water supply, I notice that I don’t have the red part in my filter.. only the white! But my dishwasher has been running really well up until recently. Maybe it’s due to glass or or ceramic plates chipping ? during the cycle? I checked the filter and white spinner thingy at the bottom of the dishwasher and had a clean but did not feel
      Or find anything.I believe you are correct to mention when using the washing machine and dishwasher at the same time the water pressure drop as they are both connected to the main supply. Thanks 😊

  • @capnjan9835
    @capnjan9835 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah, isn't German Engineering fun? You have to babysit something that should not ever be a problem. The water inlet line? Why is there a filter on the water inlet?? WHY?? Just let the water come in, let the cycle run and let the miserable excuse for a dishwasher catch it in its 'user maintained' filter. That is still a pain, but arguably easier than pulling the dishwasher ever 6 months. Sheesh.
    Does anyone know if you can just get rid of that screen so you don't have to spend an hour disassembling the thing? Yes, you have to unscrew it from the cabinets, disconnect the water line, mop up all thew water that belches onto your floor, pull out the filter (which is connected to the inlet solenoid) and clean it without breaking the solenoid.

    • @weimou4203
      @weimou4203 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Cap'n Jan, I had the same thought as you have commented above. But after disassemble a dishwasher inlet valve, I realized that a filter is necessary to protect a moving stem inside the inlet solenoid. Without a filter, a solid particle could be stuck on the surface of the moving stem causing a jam of the solenoid.

    • @kremepye3613
      @kremepye3613 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So the supply lines inside your dishwasher don't calcify and stop working after 6 months if you have a bore water or hard water supply
