I am so happy that you guys are seeing improvement with the Feingold diet! I wonder how many kids are on medication these days to "control their behavior" that is being caused by our poor food/products. Before I started homeschooling my son (mid 1st grade) the school was pushing on me to medicate him. Now, 9 years later, I am so thankful for the Feingold diet and for my own perseverance in figuring out what was going on. I wonder what life would be like if I had just drugged him :( I am not trying to be harsh on anyone who has medicated their child, that is your choice and your business. I am just saying that for our family, it wasn't something I was comfortable with, especially at such a young age. Christine, I have to chuckle a little that you whip up homemade soap like you are cookin an easy soup, but you are scared of making gluten free bread! Come on now, you can do it!! Just jump in and try :) Were the chocolate chips on the Feingold list? If they were, you should let them know that you suspect a reaction. They rely on customers to let them know, so that they can go back and re-confirm with the manufacturer that the product still meets the Feingold standards. Products change all the time. Also, if you don't know, you will get an email each month with the newsletter. The back of the news letter contains the PIC report (Product Information Changes) that you use to update your book. Most are products being added (yea!) but some are ones that have to either be removed, or moved from one stage to another.

I put my daughter on the Feingold diet back in the 1970's and it took almost 6 weeks to fully kick in. She could not have any chocolate and instead had carab. I learned to be a very good scratch cook and highly recommend this diet.

First things first, citric acid is lemon juice, lol ,liquid dr bronners costs more than the bar (dollar tree sells bars $1 each) which would make you 5gallons of liquid laundry soap making double (10gallons) and when you use the bar soap of dr bronners and distilled water you can make home made liquid body wash each bar makes one gallon of body wash,I also make fabric softener,

Thank you for this post. I have made the bleach alternative and it worked! ((happy dance)). When I found this post it was PERFECT timing for me. I have been making laundry soap for years but it had borax in it. I have found out recently that borax is a hormone disrupter and your recipe looks like a good one, thank you.

If you add the essential oils to your powders before mixing it will act as an emulsifier and they won't separate out as much.

great vlog christine, love the recipes! just a quick note about the bleach i read in the comments that both light and oxygen "un-peroxide" hydrogen peroxide (which is why its always in a brown plastic bottle not clear). So make sure you keep a tight lid on it and use a solid colored container or else the "H2O2" will deteriorate into "H2O" :) xx

question .. have you used the bleach alternative to clean anything ceramic?? My kitchen sink is ceramic and get dirty and stained quick , it drives me crazy . and I have to usually bleach it to get it clean problem is my husband is allergic to bleach the smell makes his eyes swell shut so in order to bleach the sink I have to wait till he's not around ... If it works pls let me know ..

Thank you sooo much for the laundry recipes! I'm going to make it with my kids this weekend.
We use the Kirkland brand chocolate chips. Most chocolate chips are gluten free, though, but the Kirkland ones are way cheaper and have a more "dark" flavor that we like. For noodles, we have found that Heartland brand, Barilla, and Le Veneziane (on Amazon) are most like regular noodles, and hold up the best.
I could go on for days about the brands we have found to be the best, but I know it's all a matter of taste and everyone will like different things, so I'll stop here! It does take time to find the brands that your family will eat. The one thing I have learned is that the most expensive gluten free items are not always the best tasting, or the healthiest. We buy several things from Walmart and Target :)

Great video love the little ones helping. The reason your cleaner curdled is the citric will unsaponifies that isn't really a word but what it does is turns the oils in the Dr Bronner back to it's original form oil. I have never had any luck even letting it be in the same wash.

    • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
      @FrankGutowski-ls8jt 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      twedell0108
No. It doesn’t unsaponify. Ridiculous. All the oils have been saponified to fatty acids and glycerin. If citric acid reduced the pH enough, then, yes it could well curdle. Just add a base like washing soda or borax to increase the pH.

So I'm trying to figure out if it'd be cost effective. We have an h.e. and are liking to get a regular washing machine for numerous reasons.

Awesome video! Suggestions, add your oils to the powder product before you mix with water, that way the oils really disburse in the soap :) same for a bath with ebson salts you would mix the oils in the salt stir few times and pour into bath water. it really makes the oils incorporate properly in the water :) I'm new to your chanel, this is my first video I found so far, I hope to find more diy recipes using essential oils on your chanel as your video style is really fun to watch, cheers

I just wanted to give you a heads up. Your stain remover needs to be kept in either and opaque dark container or in Amber glass. Otherwise it turns to water, or worse air. The blogger must have put it in that container for pretty photos or didn't know.

Soap made for use on the body isn't good for laundry soap because soap made for the body has oil still in it. As a maker, I don't suggest using castile soap (EVOO soap) for laundry soap. Most makers know a coconut oil soap with no superfat is the way to go for laundry butter.

IMHO preservatives, salt and sugar are the worst thing out there, in all that so called quick boxes of stuff everyone uses! People, back to basic's for cooking, make you own soups, and etc., with as close to the natural foods as you can, it's so much better for you!
The only way you can cutting them down is reducing the amounts used, why eat all that extra salt, sugar and preservatives..?
