In the video, you guys painted over the black stitching. However, in the final before and after pictures, the black stitching looked to be unpainted. Can you elaborate on what happened here? Did you guys somehow remove the paint on the stitching and if so, how? Thanks.
+xtype2006 I was wondering the same thing. If I was doing it, I'd get a super fine black Sharpie marker and touch each stitch before the final clear coat. Making sure the ink had at least an hour to dry. I'd do a test first to make sure the clear didn't dissolve the ink and make it bleed or run. Looking at their video and no explanation to your question makes one think the final shot is not of the same seat.
Intresting, i always thought the colours on leather was part of the tanning process. Did'nt realise that it's actually painted on. Well you live an learn.......
I have seen your BMW leather repair dye and colourant on eBay. I purchased scratch Dr's dye and came off within a month and made my car seat worst. My question is does this last well or does it wear off quick? Do you have any feedback from customers?
Edward Shihadeh Glad you like it! If you have any questions or need some advice or guidance, just let us know! Kind Regards, The Customer Care Team, Furniture Clinic Limited.
is this a paint or dye or are they both the same ? can paint be used on leather? i have a air brush gun but it has a small compressor on it what is the can that you are using is it just pressure to act as a compressor in a can. is anything coming out of the can besides pressure?
Hi, LJE is called Stone and it is on our colour chart under the heading 1990's -2009 Jaguar Colour Chart. All you need to do is quote 'Jag LJE Stone' when ordering either online or on the phone. Most Jaguars have a satin type finish; this is also the most popular selection from our customers.
Hi, Went to your site after recommendation from jaguarforums, but could not find the color code LJE for a 2004 Jaguar X Type (UK registration). Leather colour is grey. One more thing please - how do I determine the finish? whether it's matt, semi matt, satin, gloss or semi gloss? Thanks!
I bought your product and had it brought to me In Nigeria by a friend who leaves in the UK, but my PROPELLANT is finished, I ordered another one online but at the point of checking out the system says the propellant cannot be couriered, How can I get it down here or what other products can I get here in Nigeria that works like the PROPELLANT
great video, checked your website but I have some trouble finding exact tools you've been using, could I get a link to this specific product, also do you ship to germany?
Is it possible to spray the clear coat to the entire seat surface? My seat has some minir scuff on one side bolster, but I’d like to renew the entire clear coat of the seat, not just the repaired area.
Yes - once you have made the repair, you can apply the finish to the entire seat. We would advise that you thoroughly clean the seat first though, so you don't seal in any dirt or grime.
Hi, there is a link in the description. The company is Furniture Clinic. There are lots of colours on our website to choose from; there is no best white, just whatever you prefer.
Hello, apologies for the delayed replay. In case you still are wandering or if anyone else is checking for answers in these comments, our technicians will generally use masking tape to over the stitching so it's not coloured or there is a product called artist masking fluid, which can be applied more finely and peeled off when finished. I hope that helps!
We use the Leather Ultra Clean to clean the leather before using the Colourant Kit. This cleans all the dirt from the leather allowing you to repair only the damaged bits.
Hi, Sometimes leather goes shiny when it gets dirty so maybe all it needs is a good clean. I'd advise trying this first, but if that doesn't work you could then prep and finish the wheel, just be careful not to remove any colour when you do, otherwise you'd need to re-colour too!
Hi. First of all, I have already ordered your kit to recolor my couch :) What is the size of the coupling at the end of spray bottle? I have a mini compressor with a 1/8" connector at the output and that does not go with the vinyl connector that comes in the kit. I need to order an adapter to make it work with the compressor. Please help. Thanks!
Hi you mention that you have data base for all car colours if I give you the code can you which for a merc Clk320 code trim is 215 light quartz do you have in stock or do you have to make it up thanks
Hi dear Furniture clinic, i bought a car with leather seats but it now looks like he had a dog with sharp nails lol. can i fix that to and please let me know? greatings Kat
Yes we have products available to help with that - If the scratches are deep, you'll need a leather repair kit and a colourant kit to get the best repair. As people normally need both to get the best repair we give a discount for buying them together here - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Repair_Touch_Up_Bundle.php. This video shows you how - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/How_To_Repair_Scuffs_And_Scratches_On_Leather.php Hope you get it sorted!
Hi, this is a paint. All car leather is painted and so it is just re-applying this coating. A dye wouldn't be suitable for car leather. The can we are using is just air pressure to propel the airbrush, using a compressor is fine; we use compressors too.
If you are based in the UK it would be anything from £50 to £150, depending on the size of the area you want to repair. For something the size of a car bolster a small kit would be more than adequate. here's a link - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Colourant_Kit.php
Hi! This is the best car leather restore/repair kit I've seen here on youtube, where can I order this? I have a honda odyssey and I would like to repair it's cracked leather seats. Is this available in stores or you just deliver here in the US (Baltimore MD)? Thanks.
Hi Jon, thanks very much, I'm glad you found the video useful. We have a base in the US so you can buy the Colourant Kit here: www.furnitureclinic.com/Leather_Colorant_Kit.php You can send in a sample of leather for the exact colour match too. Thanks
***** There is often a bit of leather overhang underneath the seat that you can cut. The sample doesn't need to be big, as long as it's larger than a 20 pence piece, we can match it.
The process remains the same, regardless of the product/brand used. However, as we have spent a lot of time developing each of our products, we would recommend these to carry out the repair.
Great vid. I'm wondering...I have an '09 M3 with a glossy/sticky steering wheel, and am thinking the top finish is wearing/worn off. It doesn't necessarily need recoloring...could I simply prep the wheel and add a layer of the Finish in order to get it back to its matte look, along with its original protection? Can the finish be applied over the "good" areas as well, where the original finish is still intact? Thanks!
+GiannhsD if the soap had discoloured the leather you'll need a colourant kit as the video above shows. Here's a link to the colourant kit - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Colourant_Kit.php If the car seat just has a residue on it from the soap, I'd advise the leather kit kit to remove the soap residue and condition the seats - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Care_Kit.php Feel free to send picture to our customer service team for for specific advice if you're not sure - UK: www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/ enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk 0844 879 3691 US: www.furnitureclinic.com/ help@furnitureclinic.com Toll-Free - (866) 931-8095
Hi, I just found your channel. Very nice work. I've got some leather furniture that's in need of repair. Unfortunately, the couch and loveseat are split leather ( I got taken by a pretty saleswoman). Anyhow, the leather is know starting to split and flake away. Will your products be able to repair such damage? Also, I have a 1990 Porsche 911 with Silk Grey interior. Will furniture clinic(FC) soon be adding Porsche colors to the color chart? If not, can I use another Porsche approved dye rather than FC's dye? TIA, Heinz
Hello, we can make Porsche colours if we can get a sample. If you send some pictures we can review the extent of the damage and put together some products to help you. If you are in the UK or Europe email enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk. If you are in the US or Canada email help@furnitureclinic.com
The TOP stitching was never masked off?!?!?! Am I missing s/thing? He (you're) spraying RIGHT OVER the darker baseball stitching it appears to me. Also, while the person in the demo video has done this before, he still shows no precautionary measures when he POURS THE LIQUIDS WHILE THE LIGHT WEIGHT PLASTIC BOTTLE SITS ON THE SEAT?!?! No disrespect, but not too smart, as ANYONE could end up with the bottles on their side!
We do ship to Serbia but unfortunately we cannot send the compressor cans due to safety restrictions. We are able to send the rest of the kit and you can purchase the cans locally. If you would like any more information, please email enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk
@bizzyfingers haha, I've got a steady hand! It's a water based Colourant though so even if it did spill it would just wipe off - as long as it's still wet is easy to clean off.
It's £35 for a small kit that will do one full seat. We do larger kits if needed too. They're all available to view on our website furnitureclinic.co.uk
The cleaning procedure has a chemical smell. The best time to apply the colour is when you cannot smell the cleaning solution anymore. Generally leave the leather for about 1 hour, but if you use a hair drier you can speed this up.
Hi, You can buy the product from our website and we'll ship it to the USA. With FedEx the delivery time is only 1 or 2 days. We just applied 3 coats of Finish (protective spray). This will give you a very strong coat.
sorry guys but why did you sand the leather after several cleaning ...shouldn't you use cleaner after sanding only or after sanding too.???I f you sand and paint you will have particles all over the surface. without cleaning it .anyhow nice vid
Thank you for pointing this out. We did wipe down the leather after sanding however it wasn't shown in the video. You're correct, if the leather requires sanding, it should be wiped down with Alcohol Cleaner to ensure the surface is clean prior to colouring.
I very much doubt the longevity of these water-based paints against car manufacturers industrial leather dyes. And no, I can't be bothered to put leather cream every two months as suggested.
The paints used are exactly the same specification as the leather dyes used by car manufacturers. We've actually supplied car and plane suppliers with our products. The cream for additional protection is recommended on newly bought leather items, just to prolong the life. Leather is a skin and even though it is coated for protection, with wear and tear it can get damaged.
Nice job, I do this for a living too. I mix all my colors by eye with just black, white, yellow, red and blue.
That is so cool
In the video, you guys painted over the black stitching. However, in the final before and after pictures, the black stitching looked to be unpainted. Can you elaborate on what happened here? Did you guys somehow remove the paint on the stitching and if so, how? Thanks.

He just sprayed over the stitching..so that seemed strange to me also, but the final finish looks good.
Or the "after" picture was actually "before" and then they caused damage.... Lol
Intresting, i always thought the colours on leather was part of the tanning process.
Did'nt realise that it's actually painted on. Well you live an learn.......
As part of the tanning process the leather does undergo a dying process but it is almost always paints afterwards, offering extra protection
how many coats of protectorate did you say...3 or 30?
thanks for the video. Nicely done.
where may I buy the kit, I'm in the USA?
I have seen your BMW leather repair dye and colourant on eBay. I purchased scratch Dr's dye and came off within a month and made my car seat worst. My question is does this last well or does it wear off quick? Do you have any feedback from customers?
The company themselves obviously aren’t going to say it’s of poor quality haha
Very informative video! I will definitely try their products. The man's voice is so relaxing, it's almost hypnotic.
Edward Shihadeh Glad you like it! If you have any questions or need some advice or guidance, just let us know!

where is the link to the ordeing site? i need white whats the best white for car interioir?
You painted also the seat stitch and, but on the end of the video the stitch is black. could you provide more information?

did you get any overspray on the floorboard? didn't mask anything else off.
Filling the jars on the seat is just asking for trouble.
He's done this a lot! But yes, we would suggest taking extra precautions is it's your first time :-)
Like he said when you get runners, just wipe them off with a sponge. Plus it's the same colour, so you won't get stains xD
Agreed. I was holding my breath then. lol
If purchased can this be shipped to the U.S.
What cleaner to use before painting

can you ship to Dubai UAE and how much for the repair kit?
Does anyone know on here how to get that airbrush to work properly all mine is doing is spraying out freezing cold air no paint 🤷♂️
Hi, here is a helpful trouble shooting video, th-cam.com/video/DSufVNnBISQ/w-d-xo.html
hi just wondering would you ship to australia
We use the Leather Ultra Clean to clean the leather before using the Colourant Kit.
