That's a wrap! Bushwrapz PPF - how hard is it to apply? 2022 Toyota Fortuner build

  • Something I should've done before heading south - wrapping the Fortuner in PPF will help protect it for the long term and reduce the scratches and dents that it picks up. No way near as hard as I expected to apply, I'm stoked with how it's come out.

    Thanks. I've been thinking about wraps, and this video has been very useful.

      Yet to test it in anger - but it's something I wish I'd done to the Hilux - so glad to have sorted it on the new wagon before it gets too smashed through the bush. Fairly easy to install too!

    I've fitted Bushwrapz about 2 years ago. Been fantastic in protecting the paint on my cruiser.

      Good to hear that it's held up! Can imagine it's made a huge difference eh

    I had been wondering how you were going to protect the new wagon. Install looks good and as you say, nice and invisible. I went the rhino hide path, definately not invisible, more Mad Max.

      I wasn't going to do anything at first... Then those first deep scratches got it. So. stoked that it's now a bit more protected! Ohh nice, I've heard awesome things about the Rhino Hide - different solution, but offers some awesome protection eh!

      @@OverlandNZTV it’s tough as. Was on a CCVC trip in Orongorongo Station last weekend and the gorse was like sandpaper.

    I see you've done a few trips since installing the wrap. How's it holding up? can it handle gorse, blackberry & matagouri?

      Haven't managed to do a proper bush rash-y trip yet. It held up no worries with the scratchy shrubbery around the Central Plateau no worries though which I was impressed with, have ruined a few paint jobs through there.

    Sorry if I missed it but was that the cape or the advanced kit

      I’m not sure if we actually said 🤔 either way - it’s the Advanced Kit. Want it to last as long as possible - save needing to do it each year

    I need to install a snorkel. Should i install it first then put it on? Cheers from Sydney!

      Best bet would be to do at least that panel and the snorkel at the same time. Cut all the holes, install PPF then snorkel. Otherwise do the snorkel first - then remove it to do the wrap. Or I guess try cut the PPF for the holes once on but not sure how well that’d work, it’s pretty tricky to cut

    Great product , but way , way overpriced!
    It’s just a couple of sheets of plastic!

      @OverlandNZTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, I guess you're not wrong 😅 PPF has never been cheap though - trying to get a product that protects the pain without stripping it off when you remove it has always been a bit of an art
