I really appreciate this guy. He wasn't like every other expert like "well first of all, "tHaTs nOt rEaLiStiC"" the man just knows its all comic book fun so he runs with it and analyzes it as if it were still possible anyway.
Instead of pulling stuff like "this is clearly outside the realm of human endurance," he says something fun, like "he ate his wheaties" or "he must live his whole life on the treadmill." He gets that his audience is watching this for entertainment.
Well honestly I really love when they go in-depth and tell you everything thats unrealistic... you learn a lot from that and I dont think its annoying at at all.
Not realistic? To me, that MMA guy’s skills are not enough. Batman is realistic to me. Many people are not strong enough to stop crimes and injustice. That’s why people fails.
The free flow combat in the Arkham series is the best melee system I've ever experienced. What's even more amazing is that it was perfectly used in the warehouse fight in Batman v. Superman.
1:44 The v8.03 suit lore wise is Batman’s more advanced suit yet street fighter wise. The thing about this suit is that it’s extremely light, and armored without sacrificing speed. It is said that Batman feels naked in that suit because of how light it is.
It's also the most bulletproof out of all the Arkham Batsuits, but only to a point since it only offers mild (at best) protection if Batman takes a bullet anywhere in between where the segmented ceramic armor plates meet.
@@bigred212 I see what you mean, having the skills of gymnast and martial artist is amazing to use. it’s going take a long time to reach Batman’s level if attempted by anyone.
Fr I’m hype to see what rocksteady do with suicide squad kill the justice league next if they put in as much love as they did for the arkham games were in for a treat
Idk why so many people pull the "it's not challenging" card. Sure, it's not hard to come out of a fight alive; you're Batman after all. The point of the combat is to challenge you to try for perfection and flow, rather than just scraping by with some health left like a hack-n-slash
The best thing about the Arkham games when it came to the combat was the challenge maps you could partake in with the other crime fighters of the Bat Family. Everyone had their own unique style of fighting and it translated so well to what they could do compared to how much more Batman himself could do compared to them (i.e. destroying riot shields, batons or disarming firearms). Easily one of the better, if not best beat-em-up fighting series of our generation even if you took out the narrative.
That’s a very good point you come up with. It goes to show how satisfying the free flow combat system is that makes you feel like you are the dark knight.
And then there's always great small differences between them, notable ones include Red Hood being able to use his guns for "long range takedowns" that are effectively wireless punches, or how Harley simply CANNOT do silent takedowns in this Semi-Stealth game, going against a core principle of the genre They're all unique -even if anybody that isn't batman feels like they aren't as dense-
Honestly, I wish we'd see more people in media using their capes more in a fight. It's such an eady exploit both for enemies or the person wearing it. You can use it to deflect, distract, etc and I feel it's just criminally under utilized.
Exactly. There's so much versatility on both sides that doesn't get used. Like seeing a novice get their cape stuck or grabbed, but then someone like Batman who's more skilled able to keep it away (or make it out of something that's hard to grab without say special gloves) and use it against enemies.
@@StonedHunter In some versions its even been shown to have a quick release feature incase it gets caught and is endangering him. "NO CAPES!" "I'M BATMAN!"
A lot of what he was commenting on - keeping distance, avoiding fighting in a crowd especially - is actually under the control of the player. It's something a good player of the series has learned and is actively managing, not something that the character is doing for you.
Combat in Arkham series just hits that perfect sweet spot difficulty. Enemies are still a genuine threat, but if player is smart, sharp and knows what he's doing, he will win.
I literally was just playing arkham knight and wondering when is gamology do something like this, and now you did it. Thanks gamology, you have granted my wish 👍
batman is one of the most efficient fighters in all of comic books, he is said to be at PEAK physical conditon for a human being, the arkham games adds certain aspects that a human being isn't capable of but my god.. such as the speed and range of his movement but none the less, the free flow combat system is amazing
4:46 That's just a minor distraction in this scenario. Batman is fighting for his life, so his brain is pumping cortesol throughout his body. So a discomfort as unimportant as sweating is ignored while cortesol and adrenaline are dulling pain while putting his brain into hyper-awareness as he's thinking "I need to hurt these people very, very badly, or they will kill me."
I remember in the Deathstroke fight in Origins there's like five or six unique animations if you manage to build up a finisher and use it against Deathstroke. It doesn't instantly knock out Deathstroke, since he's a boss, but it shows Batman land one or two solid hits, while the rest of the animations between them end with glancing blows. A ton of amazing freeflow animations in that bossfight alone that don't appear anywhere else in the game.
The aspect that Batman can use quick gadget throws such as multiple batarangs, electrical charge, explosive gel to temporarily stun the enemies, etc, really adds to the realism of the fight (realism as in, the fact that Batman knows that punches and kicks might not be enough to take on 10 guys coming straight at him, that's why gadgets are also an essential part of his character)
The best fights are the ones where you team up with other Bat-family members. I couldn't handle it when they showed it before the game came out. The boss fights in origins where the sh*t and the fight against Killer Croc in knight was a trip. Becoming a martial student made these games 10× more fun for me. I couldn't believe the amount of details that were put into those fist fights.
Well if you view it from a certain perspective batman has only two super powers:the first being the power of money and the second being physical and mental conditioning bordering the upper limit of human capacity.
That’s a very interesting point, I’ve always thought that his superpower is his brain because how knowledgeable he is at pressure point and most fighting styles he’s mastered over the years of his training.
Batman is essentially peak human, he is so much better than most mortal people that he seems superhuman. I mean he could compete in just about all olympic genres and probably win every one of them
@@MrBoosterfy He IS lower-end superhuman. He's held up a collapsing portion of a building once, kicked TWO trees in half during his first year on the job in one continuity, broke a fucking motorcycle with a kick once. He might not be god level strength like Supes or others, but Batman has something going on.
I'd love to see more of the Arkham series. There's Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl (I think?), Catwoman, and probably more that all have their own styles. Also I know they're relatively old games, but can we up the quality a bit? That was kind of hard to see.
I’ve seen it before and your right, I’m Not sure how Bruce does what he does without getting very tired/exhausted in each fight he gets in and finished like he does. In real life, I don’t know if there’s anyone who can do that.
Yeah, Batman is considered to be a "Peak Human", in that his body has been pushed to the absolute limits of what a normal human can manage. I believe Batman is strong enough that he can consistently bench press close to 1,000 lbs. (and that's not far off from Mark Henry, who can manage around 900 lbs.) and he has mastered every martial art in the world (I think there are around 127 of them) while also being a master escape artist. Batman is by far one of the greatest martial artists in the entire Justice League, alongside the likes of Black Canary and Wildcat. There's a reason why even super-powered villains are extremely wary of Batman, they know he's not someone to be taken lightly. Batman doesn't really have stamina issues most of the time because he has literally conditioned his body to be able to handle it, and if you expose a weakness to him for even the briefest moment, count on him to notice it and exploit it. Just look at when he has to deal with Bane. Bane has very clear weakpoints, those being the tubes that supply his Venom drug to his body. So those tubes are Bruce's primary target whenever he has to deal with Bane, as it cuts off Bane's Venom supply and causes him to grow weaker. He's also been trained as an assassin, hence his proficiency in stealth and subterfuge, though he of course refuses to ever kill, but that's because he knows he is mentally unstable and can't trust himself to be able to stop killing once he starts, and that's why he refuses to use firearms. If he ever needs weapons in a fight, that's why he has his utility belt.

The guy playing in the Iceberge Lounge used the grapple-clothesline-elbow move too much.
3:13 What makes you think Batman was training with Anthony?
Anthony was likely training with Batman
Batman trains with his Robins and other bat people.
Want to see him react to SIFU
The editor had one two many Red Bulls. R.J. is jumping around the screen more than Batman himself.
Batman will not kill them but he will cripple them for life
Cool video and all, but I got too distracted by the Betrayal at the house on the hill board game. I’ve been lookong for it for weeks but it’s out of stock in every store in my country 😩
I want this guy react to Sleeping Dogs.
