Always happy to see Dead or Alive pop up on this channel. Great exploration of a range of character's fighting styles and the body diagrams at 1:42 and 12:33 really helped with the explanations.
I think we are missing a lot of good explanations because of the choices made in this video, unlike in the T7 video you made. People in the comment have already talked about Mila missing, even though she is the MMA girl, but I think showcasing characters like Helena, who uses Pigua quan could have been a good opportunity to talk about an uncommon fighting style. Also, many of the moves used here were strikes, mostly break blows and Fatal Rushes, even though DOA is known for its triangle system with hold and throws, this could have given him chances to elaborate on something else than the striking side of fighting, especially when there isn't much to say about standard uppercuts, spinning kick and big boot to the face, even when you are as knowledgeable as him. I wouldn't mind a part 2 with characters like Tamaki (Aikido), Eliott or Kokoro (Ba Ji Quan), Helena (Pigua quan), obviously Mila (MMA) and Lei Fang (Taiji quan).
For a channel built around video game analysis, the person or people responsible for their fighting game footage don't seem to be that knowledgeable about the games. Not that it likely matters, as my guess is they aren't being paid to be knowledgeable, but rather just being paid to generate a certain amount of video footage as quickly and cheaply as possible. Throw in a game, spend 30 minutes capturing footage of the basic moves (and specials) of a handful of characters, then edit it into a shorter highlight package to be shown to the person doing the analysis.
We gotta get RJ and the martial artists to react to Sifu right? The game is crazy and is supposedly a really good representation of Chinese martial arts.
as someone who did tae kwon do, rj is right, only hands and feet. the kicks is our focus and if you watch olympic tae kwon do, sometimes they will do feint kick transition into an other kick

Considering Hitomi's fighting style it's Shotokan Karate with some elements of Kyokushin Karate thrown in, and according to the canon her mastery of Karate comes from the fact she's been undergoing intense Karate training under her strict Karate Master Father since she was a little girl, and hasn't stopped her training at all, in fact in DOA5's storyline when training with her best friend the Chinese martial artist/circus performer Lei-Feng for the 5th DOA tournament at the circus ring she did a flying kick that was so strong that the force alone KO'd a full-grown male tiger even though Hitomi didn't actually hit the big cat.
What DOA does really great is the "hold" - counter-attack - mechanics, which not only sets up a nice rock-paper-scissors dynamics with the strikes and clinches, but also looks dope as hell, since every character has different animations for countering a punch or a kick at the different heights. You can just watch a list of those moves one by one, and it would be glorious.
